Casanova catered my wedding. He invited us in for a tasting, and emailed a quote a few days later after we went over some details. Everybody at our wedding loved it! Even our weird vegetarian friends (he’s got options to make everyone happy). Casanova’s crew is professional, clean, and efficient. He has an excellent setup and serving routine. His fish tacos are second-to-none; proven through the many awards he’s recieved over the years and loyal customer base. My wife and I track him down every time we see he’s serving lunch nearby. Im from the East Coast. Im not a fan of tacos too much. Im definitely not a fan of fish tacos. Casanova Fish Tacos were the best Taco. The fish and all the food is fresh fresh. They are not shortcuts. It was experience worth taking and looking forward to doing again. Great energy and great people.

Hector is such a nice guy and I am so happy to have met him. Picked up some tacos for my husband and myself and quesadillas for our daughters (7 & 2, both picky eaters). Sadly, I did not get a picture of the food as we were all hungry with mouths watering just from the smells. But hands down some of the best fish tacos I have ever had. My husband devoured his and I did my best to eat slower so I could enjoy each tasty bite. Even our girls loved the quesadillas.If you have not tried the fish tacos, burritos, or quesadillas (they have a shrimp one I need to try next time), then definitely go and find Hector. Got a chance to try Casanova Fish Tacos this past weekend on Father’s Day! Hands down the BEST fish tacos I’ve ever had!! The fish was served on top of cabbiage and had delicious spicy red curry sauce & Thai glaze on top. Not only was the food delicious and great quality, but the presentation and set-up was very nice!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!I cannot say enough good things about Hector and his crew. We decided to make our wedding rehearsal celebration just like a typical San Diego weekend day for us, fish tacos and craft beer! We looked around at the typical restaurants that cater and they would only provide pre-made taco platter. (While I am sure they are excellent, it wasnt what we were looking for). This is when we found Hector and his crew at Casanovas Fish Tacos. We wanted to test him out and we met up with Hector at a pop-up restaurant raising money for the LGBT community. So we stopped by and met Hector, we treated us to some amazing tacos, we had 2 tacos each, and we were stuffed. These are not small street taco size, these are very nice sized with fish or shrimp as the star, not a ton of cabbage. The salsa and creme sauces worked so well together! All of this happened right in front of us, and two mins later we were splitting a third taco because despite being full we could not say no. We instantly knew that this was what we were looking for! Fresh ingredients, prepared on-site, really authentic flavors, a great representation of Baja style fish tacos! We confirmed our spot with a handshake, Hector then followed up regularly to confirm if we had any dietary restrictions, guest count and final menu. He met us day of the event ( he was early!) and set up very quickly. After dodging a few rain showers we started serving our guest, baja fish tacos, chipotle fish tacos, marinated ancho chill beef tacos, grilled eggplant, and fresh shrimp ceviche. Everyone raved about how cool it was, most of our guests were from out of town so fresh baja style fish tacos were a fairly novel idea. Hector and his team ABSOLUTELY KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK!!! My parents were so happy to be able to provide all of our guest with such an authentic San Diego experience! Huge thanks to Hector!! We RECOMMEND HIM HIGHLY!! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

When hes running the pop ups youve got a good variety of fish or shrimp tacos available, as well as quesadillas. You can often find ceviche as well. Even with fish theres often a couple of different varieties of fish available.With covid19, hes been offering easy to use food packs... the food is seasoned and everything you need to make tacos at home is bundled together very smartly and nicely. Its a great way to continue to support a local business and a stand up guy at a time when catering is a rough business to be in. I applaud his efforts to also pull in support for other locals as well.

Anything you’ve already read about Cassanova’s fish tacos is true: incredibly flavorful, enormous portions, and a totally pleasurable experience from the moment you order until your final bite. In addition to their wonderful food, I’ve found that their team is engaged and quick to respond to questions and feedback, so I can’t actually critique anything they do... it’s all fabulous.

I ordered a family pack for a dinner I was having with friends. The food was fresh, tasted amazing, and was enough and then some for a family of 4. Hector takes great pride in his product and you can tell by the look of the package and the taste of the food.
Ordered two of the family packs for Mother’s Day and it was perfect! All of the fish and sides were fresh and delicious. Pick up was very easy! I will definitely order from them again and I hope to use them for catering in the future!

He checked the venue beforehand to ensure he had ample space for set up and was so flexible with our timeline. On top of all this the food was AMAZING. Hands down some of the best fish, beef, and vegan tacos the team has ever had. Most folks said they were the BEST tacos the ever had. It was the perfect fit for our event and we are so grateful for all of the Casanova team’s work.

From the tasting, to his quick responsiveness in emails leading up to the event and especially the day of everything was terrific. Rare to get that from a caterer in a city park! Definitely not you average taco truck. Restaurant quality. Worth every penny. Dont forget the churros too!

2023-07-07 23:11:50I had Casanova Tacos cater my retirement party recently. I have used taco caterers before but he is the only one that serves fish. But, that is not what sets him apart! His fish tacos are the best fish tacos I have ever had. Seriously! He served both grilled and traditionally fried with his special sauce he created, which was very yummy. The tacos were huge and filling. He also served chicken and veggie tacos which were also amazing. He also had ceviche as an appetizer and churros for dessert. I wish I had eaten more of the churros they were so good.Hector was very professional and a great communicator before and during the event. I am using Hector for all of my events from now on. Highly recommend Casanova Tacos.

Our guests flew in from England, Ireland and various US states to converge in San Diego for the ultimate fish tacos...and to watch us say I do! We cannot say enough great things about Hector, his team and most importantly his food. Everyone loved the variety of fish (and shrimp!) tacos available, the shrimp ceviche was to die for and the quality of everything was top notch. My mouth is watering and Im getting hungry just thinking about it! :)

But, innovation is the true driving force for this family own business. To say he only sells Baja fish tacos is untrue. Hector has created a unique style of cooking by infusing different cultures into his recipes. For example his Grilled Red Curry Fish Tacos are out of this world or Grilled Peruvian Fish Tacos are a work of art! He carries others that are worth a try but I suggest looking over his menu for new and exciting creations. BTW his Green tomatillo with habanero salsa is literally award winning! From the shrimp ceviche, shrimp aguachile, to my daughters favorite shrimp quesadilla there is no one better than Casanova Fish Tacos!

The Sweet Ginger Tacos are definitely in a class all their own. I first had Casanova Tacos at a corporate event down in San Diego and there were three other food trucks there and then there was Hectors set up. He was by far the busiest of them all with his two vans and under his tent serving up pure fish taco perfection! Its been a while but, I still remember them being so good they hold a solid spot in my top 3 of all time tastiest fish tacos. I cant wait to taste them again! Hope to see you soon Hector!
