2023-12-09 04:55:16Checked out Cassia in Santa Monica last night and had an awesome meal 😋 Their Laksa was on point - the broth was packed with flavor and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The beef rendang hit the spot too - fall apart tender beef in a rich and complex sauce. For an app we got the kaya toast which was crispy and came with a little egg and some cilantro that balanced out the sweetness of the kaya jam. The brussel sprouts side was a nice surprise - roasted with fish sauce and garlic, kinda caramelized, so delicious! 🤤The cocktails were creative and tasty as well. The Singapore Smash and the Teddy Roosevelt are what I had and I would recommend. The ambience inside was chill with a tropical meets mid century modern vibe. Our waiter was really knowledgeable about the menu. Overall we had a fantastic dinner at Cassia! Id definitely recommend checking this place out if youre looking for tasty Southeast Asian cuisine and unique cocktails in a trendy but laidback setting. 🍹👌

2023-07-26 16:56:43The food is so good. The Sunbathing Prawns are super spicy and is served cold. It is good spicy tho. The beef and half chicken are also good. It is pricey but I think it is worth visiting. We ordered for 2 and it is around $250-$300

2023-11-09 05:59:30Bright and playful flavors. Shrimp is perfectly cooked and has a crazy balance of umami, acid, and heat. Sauces that come with the crispified broccoli are so flavorful and fresh they jump off the plate. Laksa is simultaneously heavy and yet dances on the tongue. (Too much fish cake and needs some tofu IMHO.) Service was very good but they seemed a bit short-staffed tonight. The desserts were excellent. I felt there was a lighthearted playfulness to each dish but the coffee dessert, presented as a cappuccino but in bodino like form, was a great finish.

2023-08-25 15:49:13We struggled to get a table without reservation, but the outdoor seating looked so good that we kept circling back until we guilt-tripped our way to one!the food was good and you can tell the ingredients are fresh and of high quality. the prawns and wontons were especially memorable

2022-11-24 02:20:01Everything was pretty good except papaya salad and the noodles. I wish papaya salad was cut in smaller and had more flavors and ingredients, smaller portions. Taste wasn’t so good. Also I wanted noodle to be more harder. It was too soft. Their curry and pita bread was amazing, spicy wontons were good, and seafood platters were great too.

2023-01-23 03:56:15The Kaya Toast here was PHENOMENAL! A must try dish that is worth it. All the other dishes were very well prepared and delicious too. Some other highlights were the Dan Dan noodles and the chickpea dip. The service too was wonderful with our waitress and hostess being very accommodating to our needs. You must come here.

2023-03-23 03:50:16My husband and I had dinner at Cassia on a week night. The restaurant was fairly busy. We had a great table in the corner. It is an upscale restaurant and the prices reflect this style of restaurant. We had the snow crab which was delicious and the cold noodles which were excellent. For entrees my husband ordered the lamb and I ordered the steak. Although the restaurant is family style, we made it clear to the waitress that we would not be sharing the entrees since the lamb was described as very spicy and I don’t enjoy very spicy food. My steak was served first (delicious) and the lamb was not served. I was finished with my steak when the lamb finally arrived. We had to to check with the waitress several times for the status. Not the level of service one would expect in such a high end restaurant. My husband and I ate our dinners separately. When the lamb finally came it was spicy as described but the flavors were overpowering. We would not recommend this dish. The separate dinners and the lamb dish made for a disappointing experience. Would we return? probably not.

2023-05-01 18:22:59Loved the Dan Dan noodles, shredded salad and Kaya toast! Portion sizes were amazing - we went home with lots of leftovers. Cocktails are pricy but creative and interesting. Our group sat outside which was a bit chilly but they were still able to create a nice ambience and had lots of heat lamps.
