I don’t usually leave bad reviews, however this experience was so incredibly disappointing I had to, we were there for almost 4 hours just trying to get served and out. We waited over an hour for drinks or to order, our waiter was forgetful and no attempts to apologize or make any sort of amends. The food was sub-par and the price was too much for even a restaurant above this caliber. Look, I am Not trying to get something for nothing. Even just an apology from the manager goes a very long way! But none was made, we paid our bill and left without a problem. I am just incredibly disappointed in the lack of effort that was showed by the entire staff and the experience as a whole. Other tables came and went with their meals but we seemed forgotten and the establishment was content to be so. Do better.
I was visiting from out of town for work so I was craving a good steak and lobster. I ordered the steak medium but what I got was definitely well done. One half of the steak was so tough I couldnt even chew through it so for the first time in my life I walked away from finishing a steak. The lobster was what I was looking forward to the most but it was dry and bland. I couldnt figure out how it possibly could still be dry even after dunking it in butter. For the atmosphere and decor the expectations were far greater than what I got. Complete waste of money.
You cant go wrong by eating here because its always good food. On occasion some things can go wrong but that doesnt keep me away or change my opinion. I love the baby back ribs! The sweet potatoe is very yummy! The last time I was there which was recent, they sat us in a dim area. We had to use the built in light on our cell phones to read the menu. All staff members are courteous and professional.
We had reservations for a party of 6 we were taken to our table immediately, our waiter Johnny provided an outstanding service, he was pleasant and made sure we had everything we needed at our table and the the food was to our like. Our mignonette stake was perfect to our like. We mentioned that to the restaurant manager. Our diner and drinks were outstanding. Thank you Johnny snd congratulations to Cattlemen’s for outstanding service.
Service was fast and our server was very attentive, however the quality of the food was just ok. The beef ribs lacked meat. The filet mignon was very tender but lacked flavor. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and the texture of it was like chewing on dried glue, stay away from that. This place used to be quality, but has gone a little downhill.
We celebrated our anniversary. The food, salad and bread were excellent. The staff was very friendly and met our needs. Luv their steaks and cooked perfectly.
For being a walk in while they were fairly busy my party was at a table with in 7 mins and the server was amazing and got every bit of my order correct. The food was beautiful to look at and had a wonderful taste cooked exactly as I ordered it. The interior is delightful and has several tvs for the different sports and also a very nice area for more serious dates. I would absolutely recommend this place to friends and family and anyone who is looking for a great steak or a place here in the valley that does a fantastic surf and turf.
This place was GREAT! The service was awesome. We started with drinks- my husband got the unsweetened iced tea and I got a Chocolatini. Both were very good. We got the Glazed Brussel Sprouts for the appetizer. Very good. The bread and salad were good. We both got the 14 oz ribeye steaks cooked medium. The steaks were a little over cooked but still very flavorful. Next time we will them order medium rare. The sides were very good- loaded mashed potatoes and twice baked potato. The dessert- the cowpie sundae (warm brownie with ice cream and whipped cream) was excellent. We will definitely be back.
Always a favorite. Never disappoints. Sometimes the servers are so busy they might forget a drink or a side order, but other than that excellent food and great drinks.
Make time to stop here when you are in the area, and plan on eating well. We prefer sitting in the Bar area for the inviting decor and lively atmosphere. They have a great Happy Hour with impressive small plate offerings, but the full menu is available. Definitely order the delicious, house made ranch dressing to go on...anything. (Im not sure about vegetarian plates, so check ahead of time.) The happy hour wine by the glass was good too -- it rotates regularly. Food seems to be served as soon as dishes are ready, so if your party prefers to eat at the same time, let it be known or youll get items intermittently. Seating is available at the bar itself, at several hightops, and a couple of standard height tables with chairs -- but the restaurant has multiple rooms with many options beyond the bar.The servers seem to work as a team and they are friendly and engaging. On our last visit, Jason kindly accommodated my elderly father, who had forgotten his hearing aids. He stood closer to our dad, taking time to speak clearly, at an increased volume. That type of personal attention meant a lot to us all.This is a highlight of the Valley.
Wonderful dinner our waiter was on point food was great and even got the happy birthday song and a hat for our 8 year old definitely recommend the apple fritter with ice cream.
The service was good. We sat in the bar because it was Happy hour but they offer to seat us within 10min. Unlimited salad, bread, my son order the Ribeye Steak it came with the salad and baked potato, mine was the Filet Mignon, they where just the way we ordered them and they where so tender that you didnt need a knife. The potato had the works it was 👌 my drink was good too and at happy hour prices.
Great food, service was excellent.A few side items were delivered late; were told the kitchen ran out and had to make more. However, it did not ruin the meal since the portions are generous and the service was great. The dinner for two is definitely worth the price.
Steak and lobster was on point. Wife had Petes special and both meals were cooked perfect. $95.00 tab for both meals with drinks. Also cant go there without getting their mushrooms, best mushrooms on the planet. Fried apple pie for dessert!

We went for my Aunts birthday. Love the western theme. Our server was Lance. He did an awesome job. Very friendly.The food was so good. I had the prime rib. It was cooked perfectly.Since this was my first visit, I did get lost twice.😂The whole gang came out to sing Happy Birthday to my Aunt.Thank you for a wonderful experience and delicious food. 10/10

Me and my wife had an amazing dining experience here tonight. From the kitchen staff preparation to the waitresses amazing hospitality and very on top of every need we had. They took amazing care of us! It was our first time eating here, we are from out of town and saw it coming through and stopped with no intentions on how amazing this place would be. We will DEFINITELY be back, I recommend this to anyone for a date night, special occasion or just a casual stop in. The dress code is casual. The atmosphere is very laid back, and satisfaction is their top priority. Just a sample of the first part of our meal, it was amazing!

After the steaks--which were incredible--we topped it off with the most delectable dessert with brownies, ice cream, and Oreos--yeah... You read that right!! Im originally from NYC... The meal we had would have cost 3X what we paid here... especially for the cut and quality of the meat. Come to Cattlemans... The food is that good!

Had a great time here! Sat in the bar area to watch the games. The waiting staff was good and timely. The food was great. Loved how the seasoned steaks allowed the natural beefy flavor to be the star, with a little char taste. I get that the times are different now, but I sure do miss the dollar beef ribs. They still serve the beef ribs, but you have to order an entree now, and the ribs are 3 bucks each now. Will be back for more in the future!

Had the shrimp scampi and the shrimp was cold, and so were the mashed potatoes. Last time I went I ordered a steak and it was covered in fat, so Im a little discouraged on eating there again. Pros: salad was green, beer was cold, bread was warm

Got a medium well when I asked for a rare cowboy steak. Wife got a burnt well done filet mignon when she ask for medium rare. Been coming for some times and it’s been a hit and miss. When they cook it right, the steak is very good. They just need to be consistent.
I ordered a burger with garlic fries. The quality of the meat was alright, but the entire plate was so filled up with grease that everything was practically swimming in it which caused all of my food to be soggy and gross. Not a great impression.

This will be the 2nd visit in a row that has been unsatisfactory. The hosts at the door were unremarkable in character, or flat, didnt seem very interested to be there. While the waiter was good, aside from the salad being good, the dinner was just so so. Other guests at the table said their dishes were okay, a couple of filets, and a burger, but the 2 Prime Rib orders were not good. The cuts were tough, very fatty, and not the temperature we ordered. The plates that the prime rib was served on, I guess were supposed to be hot plates? But they werent hot, and they rotated as you tried to cut your food, like a lazy Susan, I was chasing my meat when trying to cut it. Dont know if Ill try them again, it hasnt been worth the drive or the money.

The best steaks around this area! The food was excellent and the portions were perfect. The only complaint I have is that the front desk girls are lacking in hosting. They were rude, whispered to each other, and didnt seem like they wanted to be there. It was my first time at this restaurant and felt uncomfortable at the beginning, but the waitress made up for it. I will be back because of the food, but if those girl/guy hostess are there, I wont go again. They shouldnt be in front with that attitude.
Clam chowder was Luke warm, sweet potato was very small. Steaks were great. Bread was not the normal sourdough, that was a disappointment.
We were a group of four out good food and conversation. The hostesses were friendly and smiling when they checked our reservation. The manager even spent time talking with us. The server checked on our group, making sure all was well. When the food was brought to our booth, everything was prepared as ordered. The restaurant was crowded this particular night, and people were loud. Yet, everyone was friendly and orderly.

This is a steak house, but they do have burgers and other options. They have different cuts with different sides as options. Its a nice place always have a good time.
I like to give good reviews, but I gave 2 stars because I bought a $30 14oz NY steak and had maybe 3 to 5 ounces of fat. I was disappointed to say the least. We also had a party of 7 and we all got our plates except for person in our group. She got hers about 5 minutes later. Thats another reason for 2 stars.

My fathers favorite Steakhouse in the Valley. I like their blue cheese sauce they put on their salads and their meat dishes are pretty good too.
We had a private area so it was semi quiet. But the waiters were so attentive especially for our large party. And the food was absolutely delicious. I would DEFINITELY recommend going for dinner one day.

Today was my birthday and being able to pick up this delicious meal made my day.This is our families go-to place for a good steak and an all around satisfying family dinner. It is the only place we will order a steak. The service is excellent. Servers our right there when you need something. Everyone is so attentive and friendly. Its nice when you can count on some things not changing.
So first off our servers name was Jason, was pretty good at his job. We had dinner for two, wife had salmon/ broccoli/ranch beans and I had prime/baked/ranch beans, and apple pie with ice cream. Dinner was great, dessert well I believe they need to use different apples for their pies, it kinda tasted like pears.But as I was saying service from Jason was great, salad and dinners were super, and the ice cream was good everything was great I am full we both got full and that was the whole purpose, as I said my opinion on the apple pie.

Cattlemens is the place to go if youre craving a nice juicy steak. I ordered the comboy ribeye and got a baked potato with a lil the fixings. It also came with bread and beans and a salad. Everything was cooked to perfection, I will definitely be back again

The freshest sourdough bread in the Central Valley with the most amazing real butter. Ribeye so tender and the Cowboy onions make a great salad and leftovers! The baked potato is perfectly cooked, moist and filled with everything you would want. Cody was an excellent server, he provided top notch service, pray you get him waiting your table!
Whiskey Pete is our regular go to steak unfortunately it was tuffer then cow hide, going to think twice next time I hit a jackpot and drop 300.00 locally, heard there is a good steak house in Kingsburg and Visalia.
Highly recommend to anyone passing through the Selma California area. Service was exceptional. The amount of food was massive. I knocked off a star because my prime rib was a little bland. It could have been that I ordered it rare. Had a reservation so we had zero wait time. Ordered the meal for two which comes with choice of appetizer, choice of entre and dessert. We got the tumbleweed onions, prime rib and cheesecake for dessert. Bread, salad, and appetizer came first. Followed by our entre (prime rib) with side (loaded potato) and beans. By this time we were stuffed but still had dessert which was a huge slice of cheesecake.
We drive all the way from Bakersfield to Cattlemen’s Selma. We go on special occasions because we like the drive out of town to dine on the great steaks, bacon wrapped shrimp, appetizer and, drinks, desserts. Superb service is another plus at Cattlemen’s in Selma, California.

Very pleased with the food overall. All the food is well seasoned, may be a bit salty for some, but the salad and side of sour cream they provide balances that out nicely. Would definitely go back.
Theyve been here for what seems like forever! It was my first time back in about 15 years and let me tell you, the ribs still taste the same (saucy & great!). The steaks were well seasoned and the staff members were attentive & helpful. Great atmosphere for casual small get togethers or an intimate stake dinner.

I was singularly disregarded by all hospitality staff and waited 20 minutes for food that was said to be ready. other customers were treated well, but all employees at the kiosk treated me poorly. meanwhile the 8 employees had no problem laughing and joking instead of taking care of the only customer in front of them. don’t get take-out here.

My family and I had dinner here last night and for the price we paid for our meals did not match the terrible service we received.1st. our reservations was at 730, we did not get our food until 9 (yes, given it was a busy night but that was too long but oh well)2nd. the waiter knew they were out of certain food items we had ordered and he decided not to tell us until we received our food. The waiter came to our table with a plate with only a piece of meat and no sides so i was stuck having to wait for a new side order. why didnt he come and notify us before bring out the food?3rd. The waiter did not bring out all our food out at once so while half us waited for our food, the others had to wait while their food got cold.these were just the 3 main issues we had while a few others were just minor but for a restaurant that prides their self on great food needs to train the servers better customer service. if this was a cheaper or lower end restaurant, a few of these issues would of been over looked. if you plan on a nice night with your family or on a date, this is a great steak restaurant but just beware
We went here last night to celebrate my husbands birthday. This restaurant has just the most wonderful customer service from the whole staff. We received our food and drinks quickly they were friendly. It was just a great experience overall. Thank you guys for a great night we will definitely be back :)

Visited July 7 2022, had reservations, got there early got sat . After a little confusion on where to sit us, we finally got a booth, there were 4 of us, service was fast, and server was friendly. However, baked potato was barely warm and was hard, potato skins and calamari appetizers were really good. Over all would definitely visit again, update, visited may 30, 2023, this plate is hit or miss, waitress attentive, steak not cooked as ordered, didnt send back, so my fault. Not sure if Ill go back

I had a Caesar salad but the chicken was overcooked. My wife had a prime rib steak and it looked like it was just warmed up on the grill and served.. We were a party of 5 and had reservations.
Especially the service i recommend reservations as the steak is superb and holidays are especially busy it was Mothers Day and i hadnt been there in 18 yrs it has gotten better for sure and plenty of parking close to freeway access for travelers however you like your steak your sure to be pleased

Unfortunately tonight was not our night. First they sat us in the bar, which we didnt want. We were moved. Our waiter Korey, just couldnt handle our table. Hamburgers were not brought as ordered, food cold, meat med rare, but asked for well done.AND, one of the ladies in our group, never even received her order. We were almost done, so she cancelled her order.Yes, Manager made it right..brought my friends order, no charge. Wrong orders were given a discount also.So, Ill go back.

Was very disappointed in last nights dinner. My husband and granddaughter ordered filets well done and they were medium rare. My filet i ordered was supposed to be medium and was blue and cold in the middle. They recorded the other two and brought them back after probably 15 minutes. Beans were cold. Just an overall disappointing meal.

I couldnt resist the urge to pass up this Cattlemans location. This is the 3rd location Ive tried and by far this place had the best tasting 2lb mouth watering Sheriff Steak. We had the steak outside, since indoor dining is limited due to the new covid pandemic. Couldnt have made a better choice. If you are craving a steak dont wait until later or next time to have Cattlemans, do it NOW!
I live about 5 minutes from Cattlemens and this was literally my first time eating there. It will definitely NOT be my last. The food was amazing. I had the grilled salmon and steamed veggies. The only disappointing part of dinner was the appetizer. Do NOT order the tumbleweed onions appetizer and you will be alright. Dont let that scare you everything else was amazing. Not to mention the classy servers. Their service is top notch.

The food was great it took them 1 hour and a half to make it to prici for a place that forgets your order and the manager didnt even apologize to us he only give us a free drink Im not going back I can pay for my drink even tip double if I get my order on time.

We use to love to go out and have a nice dinner here, but the past couple of times the service and the food has been horrible!Our most recent visit was 05/29/22 for mine and a good friends birthday. The service wasn’t too bad but our food was horrible! My friend and I both ordered the teriyaki chicken. As we were eating she mentioned hers tasted funny, I looked at it and it was RAW! Mine was pink. We told our waiter and he said he can send it back to have it cooked. We declined and said we no longer wanted it or anything else as we had lost our appetite. He did take it off my friends bill. This wasn’t our first bad experience like this, we tried to give it another try but nothing has changed. We will not be going back again.
It was my boyfriends company dinner, and everything was on point, the drinks 🍸, the appetizers, the salad, the lil pot of pretty well seasoned beans, and my steak and lobster was a pleasant experience! Chocolate and carrot cake were off the hook! Wonderful experience!

Very disappointed. There was 7 people in our group. The ribs were very dry. The steaks did not have any flavor and the Teriyaki chicken was so thin and dry. We asked for ketchup and was told they were out. Very disappointed. This was our favorite restaurant (Selma) and will not be driving 40 minutes for a disappointing meal.
We went here for fathers day dinner I wanted to celebrate my husbands father’s day a day early. We were a party of three. We all order steaks and all 3 of our steak were not cooked properly. Our steaks were serve with the burned side down. I order my steak well done and it was burned in the outside and undercooked in the inside. My sons steak was undercooked two times, his appetite was ruined and he didn’t eat after that. My husband order his steak medium rare and it was burned in the out side and it was cooked a mixture of between rare on one side and well done on the other. We were very disappointed. Definitely not worth the money. The only good thing was the dessert. I would not be coming back to this place at all. NOT WORTH IT. Don’t waste your money here!!!!
My husbands Prime Rub couldnt be cut with a knife, it was so tuff. Service was horrible, I had to ask the manager to get our salads and bread because large parties that cane after us got their right away. Beans came after part of our party were already done eating. For what we paid tonight it was HORRIBLE! So very disappointed, wont be going back there any time soon.

We went to celebrate our friends birthday and mentioned this to our waitress when she asked if we were there for a special occasion. She said shed take care of things. We figured she forgot as we saw staff go to other tables to sing happy birthday but no one ever came to ours. Two of us ordered chicken and one of the chicken orders was dry. The pot of beans arrived when we were almost done with our meals. Halfway home to Fresno, I felt I should have tipped 15% instead of 20%. This was the first time my friend, whose birthday it was, had been to Cattlemens in Selma. She was disappointed.
We were seated around 8:45, a party of 4, two couples. We ordered drinks, my beer was a good size and the drinks were good. Our waitress was nice, if a little hurried. One of the ladies in our party mentioned she would be ordering fried apple pie while we were ordering our entrees, and our waitress told her they were out of pie. Our dinner went pretty quickly, our salads cleared as our dinners were served, finished or not. The check was brought to the table without the option of another drink, coffee, or desert. It was nearing 10, when they close, but there were other diners and a table was seated 15 minutes before. We felt like the waitress must have been ready to clock out, and we were keeping her. This restaurant is expensive, and the portions were on the small side, and we all ordered steaks that came with a salad and choice of potatoe, no soup option. We had to ask about a vegetable alternative for the potatoes. The ladies bathroom had a cleaning check list that said it was clean at 9:30, however, it was not clean and there was no toilet paper in either stall. It would be a hard sell to go there again because of the bathroom, both ladies would opt for Harris ranch and the drive.
The pros: Great service, excellent steak, friendly environment. Cons: The grilled shrimp & the lobster tail were overcooked but overall we enjoyed our first visit to this Cattlemans location.
The food was pretty good, but my Ribeye was far too fatty and gristled. Over half was inedible, which seems to be the trend lately. I know that Ribeyes are a fatter, marbled cut, but this was disappointing. The Filets Mignons that everyone else ordered were great, but a quality Ribeye is a hard find. Disappointing for a steakhouse.
The staff is always friendly. The last two times I went, the steak wasnt tender. I always order it medium. Sometimes its medium rare and sometimes its medium well. Ill go back because when its good, its really good.Ok, I went back. Asked for my steak cooked medium. It was raw and barely warm in the middle. I sent it back. It came back still raw in the middle but burnt on one side. My father ordered the same steak and his was mostly fat and gristle. The rice pilaf tasted like it had perfume in it. The free bread was the best part of the meal.
Happy hour is excellent! Good dinners, value priced!

First timer, but will never go again. We came to celebrate with my kids softball team. They wouldnt seat us all together, they didnt want to take our orders separately. The food took about 2 hours to come out. Once it came out it was cold and dry. We complained and they didnt care. Even the water was bad, tasted like water hose water. Waiters were very blunt and always answered rudely. Waiter didnt come by to ask how we were. We had to call them over just to refill our drinks once. Oh! And they didnt pick up any dishes as we were done with our salad which by the way the dressings were really chunky...gross. just an awful experience.
Our waiter was mia took us about 30 mins to get someone wait on us. Thank God for the gentleman that did wait on us who wasnt working our section. They were not busy all tables wernt filled up. Our steaks were cold and baked potatoes were very small. Certaintly wasnt worth it. This only second time going there first time was O.K. after we had send steaks bk to be cooked more. I do not think we will be going bk.
It took 45 minutes from the time we ordered our food and the food come to our table its horrible had to send my steak back twice still couldnt get it right we ordered medium it came medium rare and we had to eat each of our entrees separately!! First the baked potato then salad then we had to wait on our steak! Then as we were sitting in the entryway my friend fell because cattleman has not taken the time to screw that lower bench in so when she got up she fell to the ground and hurt her knee

Very busy during mid week.... like it used to be 5 years ago. Mostly new staff...however lots of staff on duty working dinner hours as well as an active manager helping out with all depts to make dinner rush run as smooth as possible. Menu prices went up the end of Sept by approx $2 to $6 like everywhere else however so did the flavor and quality of the food. Steaks back to the way they used to be& 21+ drinks well made not watered down like last year. Cattlemens is probably the most improved restaurant back to service, quality and atmosphere to the year before covid. Most restaurants Ive been to lately still are sub par and should rethink their values by addressing customer wants to achieve satisfaction.

This place is real hit or miss. Sometimes great meals and service, sometimes not so much. Theyve also ended their bar menu, happy hour deals.

My rib rye was salty, but tender. The Prime Rib was a little tough. The baked potatoes seemed to have been reheated from yesterday and their beans - which are normally DELUSH-were INEDIBLE. HORRIBLE. Corporate changed brands or suppliers and they suck. Their BC salad dressing was good and the bread was hot and fresh. Their service was also excellent. Great coffee and the cheesecake was awesome.DO NOT GO without a reservation.
My steak, shrimp scampi, and baked potato were delicious, but unfortunately, my husbands baby back ribs were too charred for his taste. He said next time he would just order the steak!
My only complaint was the host Adrian and there was another girl they werent very nice We didnt have reservations and were told it would be a 45 minute wait and I went up to ask how much longer was told youve only been waiting 24 minutes I told you 45 then I went back later and asked again it hasnt been 45 minutes but yet they had an attitude they were sitting everybody else and we were the only ones still waiting. We did complain to the manager about their personalities they should not be host in the front or waiting on any customers.
I ordered take out and it was incomplete. The steak was under cooked, baked potato cold and they forgot the extra baked potato, beans and salad. We ordered a Petes Special, a large salad and extra baked potato, since we were sharing, but they forgot the sides that came with the steak. If this helps anyone when ordering here. The large salad comes with bread, beans. On a plus side lots of butter for the bread we ordered. Ordering take out is a gamble anywhere, be sure to double check your order before you leave. Lesson learned! I am getting a $5 credit? Better than nothing, the manager was attentive and friendly.
Cattlemens has been our favorite restaurant for over 10 years now but last night was the first time in those years where we left with a bitter taste. Our drink order was taken after being seated for over 15 minutes. We asked for NO onion on our salad and we’re brought what looked like a whole onion on it. We asked for extra croutons and the salad had none. Our baked potato was supposed to be loaded and the bacon was missing. We kindly asked the waitress for the bacon thinking she forget it and she responded saying we’re heating some up and never brought it out. When it came time to pay for our meal the non existing bacon was front and center on our bill. We never got asked for refills and when we asked for A-1 sauce was brought one little side on a cup. The beans were cold and the bacon wrapped shrimp which we asked for to be well done some parts of the bacon were hardly cooked. How can so many things go wrong in one meal. My husband and I never like complaining about our meal in fear of getting spit on our food but oh my it took a lot from him to not say anything and at the end of the night we still tipped the horrible service. I’m not sure when and if we will be going back but I hope this was just a one time bad experience.

My experience recently was awful! Cattlemens has always been our top pic for restaurants but lately I don’t know what has been been happening. I had reservations yet it took 40 minutes to be seated. When we final sat at our table the server took about 15 minutes to come take our drink order and 20minutes to bring them to us. By the time he came to take our drink order we were ready to order our food yet he didn’t want to take our food order until he brung out our drinks! Fine. When he finally took our food order it took us one hour to get our food! Silverware was dirty. The whole restaurant looks like it’s taking a dive! Dirty carpet, broken tables, holes in the furniture! Super hot no A/C. Forgot to mention the iceberg salad that barely had any iceberg in it! Serving portions were a lot smaller than usual. Overall horrible experience and would not recommend at this time.
The place is super cute.the staff was very friendly. The food was good but the ribs were dry. The cheeseburger and the salmon were really good. Cheese dip,bread and beans were also really good. But for being a steak house it was disappointing how dry the ribs were.
Let me start off by saying food is great it use to be better.. managers seem to be having a lot of stress, Ive witnessed the managers both male and female yell at these employees)so unprofessional)even heard them arguing 🤦🏽♀️Ive been here many times and disappointed how this place has changed over time.bar service was worse, waited 10minute before the bartender took my order, this person was too busy laughing with his other friends while I sat there and waited(terrible)deffinietly will find a new place to enjoy my dinner....

Excellent food and outstanding service! Our server Justin went beyond great service! We lucked out to get in close to opening time as we were passing by on the 99. Last time we were in town reservations were needed and they were not accepting anymore that day.
Great meal and drinks. Didnt even get a picture as was too busy devouring to remember to review. Would say comparable to Cool Hand Lukes more than a Flemings or Ruths Chris for atmosphere. Meat quality and taste seemed to run with the best of them. Would definitely be a spot to return to, even if it is a 50 minute drive from my house.

Service was wonderfu. KAT did a great job. The appetizers were good. The prime rib was terrible. Medium is what we wanted it came out Rare. But looked and tasted like it was cut days before and left out. Not worth the price at all. I dont know if they got it from a low end supplier. But it reminded me of the low quality food we got in the Marine Corps.

Still great value for a good meal. The beans are a portuguese flavored ranch style beans, which I dont care for. Also, just a little concerned about them serving dishes with quarter size chips on the edges of the plates...both my wife and I had the chips. Not a good presentation for a main dish plate.

Then the waiter, rushed us when he was taking our order and to top it all off we waited a long time for our food and it wasnt even hot, it was barely warm. End result of this BAD experience, the Manager came and apologized and took the whole bill and squashed it because he seen what we were served. We decided to take the Dinner for two which gives you an appetizer, an entree and a dessert.We order Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, 14oz Rib Eye (medium) and cheesecake.The Steak was good, and it was perfectly cooked, whilst we have others on the table where it was a bit rare instead of medium.The tumbleweed onions are really good!.The baked potato was just ok, we order it with cream and chives but it didnt really taste that good, it needed a bit of salt and the cream and chives did not add any flavor to it, so next time Ill go for the fries instead.The baked beans are really good, same goes for the complimentary sourdough bread.The service was ok... barely.We were given our table and had to ask for everything. First of all it was a party of 6 and we only had 2 silverware, when they brought the salad we had to ask for another plate since we only had 4 (6th person did not want salad), then we had to ask for the missing silverware; we asked for water with NO ice, we got ice, Coffee was cold, we had 2 baskets of bread but only 1 portion of butter, so we had to ask for more.All in all, perhaps the waitress was fed up with us, but how hard is to look at the table and check whether something is missing, maybe be proactive and bring stuff just in case, like ketchup and salt and an extra plate, it doesnt hurt and it goes along way in customer satisfaction.
In the past we have always had great steaks or prime rib. But today they did not meet the expectations we had for dinner. I ordered the 14oz rib eye cooked medium rare and it was sent out very rare. I sent it back and it can back still rare. My husband had the prime rib and had to cut away so much fat, it just became unappetizing. My mother-in-law had a prime rib dip sandwich a d it was mainly just fat and gristle. We we very disappointed. Our waiter Dilllon was very good and attentive.
Havent been to Cattlemens in maybe a decade but it was just as good as I remember and then some.The bread was delicious, the staff were great, there was a good range of entrées to choose from and the atmosphere was really nice.My steak was a touch over cooked and the baked potato could have cooked a little longer, but Im really nit-picking there.We both enjoyed our meals and came away stuffed!
Our server Dominic was amazing he catered to our every need. We were there for my nieces 18th birthday so our party was a little loud and picky. He was very patient and made sure our drinks were full and food came out piping hot. Thanks Dominic for excellent service

When in the Sacramento we always stop at Cattlmens. Recently (after Covid) the quality of the meat has gone down. I guess they dont want to raise their prices. Service is outstanding but the beef needs improvement. I know when Im eating Choice beef and what they are serving is not choice.
I don’t know what happened to this place!!! The quality is the worst I’ve ever seen. The steaks we ordered were burnt. We ordered medium and it was burnt!!!! They served it with the burnt side down thinking we wouldn’t notice it. Well we tasted it!!!! The hamburger was also burnt. That was a waste of 340.00. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone anymore I will not be returning to this establishment anymore. Carl’s Jr. gives better service than that. Very very disappointed. Not even worth 1 star
Update: spoke with the manager regarding my experience. Very good customer service and was willing to make things right.The soup and beans were cold. The beans also came in a small soup cup for our entire table of 5 to share. I ordered a fillet and came overcooked and was offered a new one. The second steak I was brought was cooked perfect but was not a fillet, but a NY strip steak. At that point the rest of my table was done with their entree so I stuck with it. The apple pie dough was also raw in the middle the 1st go around. The appetizers were good at least but that was about it.
Dinner was wonderful as usual. We did have an issue with one of the salads, spoke with our server, moments later the manager came over to speak with us. The issues was quickly resolved. We will definitely return.
Came here for the first time and we really enjoyed our experience. We made sure to make a reservation and we were seated fairly quick. The food was amazing, our steaks where cooked they way we asked. The sides where also great. For our appetizer we had the trip tip tacos and they werent bad. The cocktail portions are good for the price. Our servers were awesome and quick. We will definitely be coming back.
Wep went for my boyfriends birthday. We ordered medium-well steaks. His came back rare. He sent it back. When returned it was medium rare. Mine was medium rare I ate part of it. The manager did offer me another steak. I was just ready to go. The service wa0s ok.

2023-10-29 07:02:18My rib eye was cooked perfectly. Medium rare plus. I worked in a fine dining steakhouse for years, so I was very impressed. Food was good solid American fare. Very enjoyable. The staff was very friendly. Our server was dressed as a firefighter for Halloween and she was exceptional. Myra at the front desk was a total sweetheart. We also chatted with Kim Possible and another server. Great personalities all around. We will be back, for sure.

2023-07-12 04:26:37It was such a wonderful surprise seeing that familiar sign from the freeway. We did not know about this location and were headed to Bakersfield for Mexican food. When my hubby saw the sign, he made a 3 lane exit off the freeway!The wait was minimal, the service phenomenal, the food .... oh my, the prime rib melts in your mouth!My husbands steak was tender and full of flavor! If you like fried mozzarella, you should try these!Everything was fabulous!!

2023-11-20 04:19:11Went for our anniversary, and even with a reservation had to wait 15-20 minutes. Waitess was nice, but the steaks were not cooked correctly. My wife ordered med-well and got barely ned-rare, while I ordered Med-rare and got blue. I sent mine back Fuse and when it came back parts were well and others still barely med-rare, we decided not to send hers back and I ate it add Gabe her the more done parts of mine. Seasoning on steaks was very light.

In addition, the wait for the food was pretty fast! Not to mention, all the food was perfectly cooked according to our preferences. However, the table wasn’t properly set to the amount of people with plates and utensils. In addition, the wait staff didn’t offer to fix the issue unless we asked. Nevertheless, I enjoyed eating here and would highly recommend to anyone in the future!

We told her yes, its our anniversary. She said happy anniversary and that was it. We were celebrating 25 years. Service was slow. The Server was not attentive. Food was good.

Got sat at a table with server on break sat there for 10 mins before waiter came up after we requested a Management( he comped our app), next we opened our silverware and 75% of them were filthy (waiter no where to be found) had to get someone else to get us clean silverware. Food comes all taste great as always perfect. After I finished eating found a food ticket under my meat told the waiter he said oh well. Not sure if it was an off night for them or if it was just bad luck for us on our date night.
