We loved everything about our stay here. The rooms are what youd expect from an 1800s property, but theyve done some nice upgrades. The bathroom in our room had a nice, updated shower. Everyone who works there is super friendly and helpful. As for location, you cant beat it. The water is just a few minutes walk away as are many nice restaurants. Highly recommend!
Great stay with lots of historic charm in an awesome location. We walked to restaurants, along the shoreline, even to the aquarium. It’s really fun staying in places with so much character. We stayed in level 3 and think this was a good decision, as this is an old creaky building. The seagulls still welcomed us to the morning every day with their “singing” right over our skylight. The king suite was huge. Service was very friendly and the free nightly glass of wine and morning parfaits were welcomed. Parking was always easy even during our holiday weekend stay. We alway found street parking within a block.
My friend and I had a cute girls trip with our dogs here. The dog friendly cottages were perfect because we had our own private patio for the dogs! The girl who checked us in was very sweet and held our luggage and Alex was also very kind and helpful. Great spot and great service!
9/2022 This was a return visit because we loved it here the last time. We got the same cottage which has become our favorite for us and our doggies. Erna the manager ensured we got the cottage. Everything was well maintained. So quiet and comfy. The staff was wonderful.This was our first stay at Centrella Inn. We chose this inn because it is very dog friendly. We stayed at their cottage with a private enclosed patio which was ideal for our doggies. Unbeknownst to me my husband got the special birthday package. It was an awesome surprise. I was overwhelmed with the gifts and birthday decoration. The inn was very easy to find. There is parking on the street and limited parking on the property. The beautiful and charming Erna the manager and her wonderful staff made our stay extra special. They made us feel at home and like friends. It is a great location within walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shops. Breakfast is served in the morning at the main inn. Coffee, decaf and tea are available throughout the day. Cookies and wine tasting is served in the afternoon and evening. You Have choice of either red or white wine. There is a refrigerator in the cottage. The cottage interior is updated, very comfortable, cozy, neat and clean. We loved it here and will return soon. Our doggies loved it too.
Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. Loved the extras...wine, cookies, brownies. It was a quiet place to crash at the end of the day. I also enjoyed just hanging out and quietly slipping into the new day, reading a book in the garden while sipping coffee. The overall atmosphere is chill and relaxing and that is a welcome relief from the daily hustle and bustle!
My husband and I spent a few days at this amazing and beautiful hotel. Everything was clean, staff very friendly and the hotel was beautifully decorated. We loved the delicious breakfast of on site made scones and granola to accompany the yogurt bowls with various fruits. In fact we loved the breakfast so much that since we have returned home we have the same yogurt bowl every morning. In the evening they offer wine and different treats and it is so comfortable to sit in the living room and relax after a day of excursions. Next time we plan on staying longer because there is so much to do in the surrounding area and so much fun to come back to this beautiful place in the evening.
People at the front desk were gracious and kind. As for the building, amenities, and overall place, not the best. Sink cracked, carpets need to be steam cleaned (white socks turned grey within the hour). Label maker used on items in room. They can’t even replace outlet covers. Scratches on walls. Trash can itself was trash. Building needs a fewcoat of paint - dings scratches flaking paint found throughout. It may have been a beautiful building at one point but this is just patchwork. I’ve stayed at higher and lower end places in Pacific Grove and Monterey in comparable locations for half the price and they surpassed the quality of this place. Lots of potential.
We loved our stay. Our only small suggestion would be to have orange juice available at breakfast. Also, for those guests staying longer than a night or two, it would be nice to offer a little variety for breakfast. We have been coming to the inn for several years. You used to have juice available and a few breakfast options, which we appreciated. Other than those two small things, everything was wonderful. We look forward to our next visit. Thank you.
I booked this hotel during my road trip from San Francisco to LA in March, 2023. At that night, the whole town lost the electricity, this hotel got no hot water to shower, no lighting, no charging. So when I arrived in this hotel, the reception lady told me I can cancel my reservation for free, she promise she would call Agoda and she use her working cellphone to take my agoda reservation number picture ! However, I sent 3 emails to this hotel, but never got any response . I called agoda customer services hotline for twice and they just keep replying me this hotel can’t confirm I didn’t do the check in. That’s very interesting, I think that is some kind of racist maybe ? Until now, after two months later, I still didn’t get any money back ( 150 USD) from Agoda or this arrogant hotel .-From a Asian girl who travel to U.S for the first time .
The staff was so kind and helpful! We had our dogs w us and we had rented one of the cottages that had its own fenced yard! Perfect! The cottage had a separate bedroom, very comfortable, in fact, we hadnt slept that long in years! The living room has a wet bar, microwave, and refrigerator. We didnt use the fireplace. There was a TV in the living room and bedroom. All was neat & clean!
Cute Victorian Inn in a nice walkable area. Rooms werent flashy but provided everything youd need. Nice sitting areas on the first floor and friendly staff. Limited parking spots but street parking wasnt too hard to find.
I booked this last minute and stayed for the night with my boyfriend. Service was nice, location is great. However we booked through a 3rd party, which said we’d receive 2 queen beds. When we got to our room it was 2 twins with old bed frames. We asked the nice guy at the front desk if we could get a different room and he asked his manager, which said no bc we booked through a 3rd party. We didn’t fight it bc we weren’t going to be there long but, I wouldn’t stay there again. The carpet is old, the bed frames are on wheels and roll around but the worst part was how loud it was. You could hear the guests above us all night and it’s very squeaky. They need to put some love in the rooms and update them, shame because the staff/ breakfast touch is nice but I’d pay that same amount of $250 to be a little farther but with updated rooms.
We stayed there for a second time and were impressed by the variety of options in room selection. Its an old historic building founded back in 1892. However, its well maintained, with spacious showers and great service. Mechanical locks make it very attractive for Shabbat observing families especially because Chabad of Monterey is the next block. If you arrive before 8pm, expect a glass of bubbly per gest along with tea and brownies by the fireplace. Continental breakfast served from 7 to 10 with coffee, tea, yogurt with fresh berries and oatmeal, croissants and pastries. Its situated between Pebble Beach and Monterey Fishermans Wharf and could be your unforgettable travel experience
Not my cup of tea. Old room but without the charm (in my opinion). Stayed there during a blackout so ran away right in the morning because we couldnt use any of the facilities (even shower since there were no hot water). Also, it was windy and the windows wont close completely so it was cold and noisy. Anyway, didnt enjoy it, maybe with electricity on its better.
The cottage we stayed in was lovely. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was delicious. The bed was very comfortable, and the cottage was very quiet. There was some confusion in the view from the room as the description makes it seem like there was an ocean view. There was not. Thought it was a very close walk to the beach. Overall we had a great time.
Our stay at Centrella Inn was terrific. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and affordable. The inn is full of character and warm touches - we particularly enjoyed the homemade scones each morning and cookies each evening. The staff was delightful and the location was great too. Centrella went above and beyond to help us celebrate our honeymoon. Thanks for an awesome stay!

The Inn was built in 1892. Rooms are small but clean. We enjoyed the wine and cookies at night. And the fruit parfaits and scones in the morning were very good. The location was great too. Easy walk to the water and restaurants.

The staff are wonderful, the Inn so cozy and quaint. The breakfast of homemade scones and yogurt parfaits was perfect! We stayed in the third floor Lover’s Suite. Comfy bed, comfortable sitting area, great claw foot tub. My only complaint was the very week water pressure in the shower. We chalked it up to being on the third floor of a Victorian with old pipes and hard water. I’m not sure anything could be done about it, but that’s my only complaint.
The staff were professional, polite, friendly and inviting. The location was ideal. The room was charming in its Victorian style; not modern but clean and well-kept. I loved the ease of breakfast, tea at any time and afternoon wine. This charming B and B was ideal for my solo relaxing getaway! (If I were to come back with my kids, I would look into one of the stand alone cottages though, not the main hotel section!)
This Inn was great! We were on the stop floor ( I cannot do other guests above me) and it was charming, peaceful for the most part. Lots of room! It is on the corner of a street so there was some traffic but not bad at all. I liked that is was decorated Victorian, the floors did creak but that’s what you expect for a super old home. Very historic property. The hot water in the shower actually lasted long enough for my husband and I to enjoy a shower each! The only negative feedback I have is the sea chickens (seagulls). They would walk around and make noise. They were quiet at night! Short distance to the beach and shopping! Oh and the complimentary wine each night (one glass). Amazing! Thank you!
Lovely Victorian inn. Room was small with no dresser to put clothes into. Bed was acceptable. Friendly staff. Great location - within walking distance of Pacific Grove shops and restaurants as well as to Cannery Row in Monterey. Stayed for five enjoyable days. Would we come again? Yes.
I stayed here for three nights in April 2022 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Three blocks from stunning ocean views and one block from the main street of Pacific Grove, you couldnt ask for a better location. Historic rooms that make you feel you are in a magical past make up for the small size of the rooms and lack of modern amenities. Complimentary wine, baked goods, and breakfast are all great touches, and the staff are polite and service-oriented. The lobby/common room is also cozy and great for relaxing, playing games, or reading at night, and the garden is wonderful for the same during the day. Highly recommend.
Arrived after 9pm and everything was set up for me to check in and it all went very smoothly. Our room was very nice and clean, a little small and not many places to put stuff. I had to unplug the click radio so I could plug in my devices as well as create some room on the very small night stands. But I also appreciate the charm of the old Victorian style house.
Cottage #3 was spacious and cheery. The sofa bed was comfier than most! And we loved that we could park in front of our door. Gardens are gorgeous, Breakfast light with toothsome scones and the walk to the aquarium was spectacular. Thank you for letting us check in after hours too!
The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. The buildings and room was very charming with old world details while still providing a modern shower and comfortable mattress. The breakfast was perfect and not too heavy with a beautiful yogurt parfait and delicious scones.
Wonderful and charming hotel! We stayed in the one bedroom, dog friend cottage (C-1) and it was lovely. Has a fenced patio, and a great little living room with fire place and breakfast table. Nice light, quite. PERFECT location. Walk to Lovers Point beach, walk to restaurants and bars, etc. Great staff and the most delicious homemade scones! Would 100% recommend.
Quaint historic home, nice continental breakfast. Our Victorian room was ample size with a; updated shower.The only downside ( minus 1 star) was because when we opened the windows, we were shocked as to the amount of mold between the two window panes. Room 16
The building is lovely and the location is ideal. It is walking distance from shops and restaurants, from Lovers Point, and a reasonable walk to the Aquarium. We drove an electric car and there is charging at the Lovers Point shopping area one block away. The service was was very courteous and provided unexpected extra value. We did not expect the warm cookies and brownies, the glass of wine from 7 to 9 pm, the luscious scones with a yogurt parfait for breakfast. Wonderful stay. We had such a good time we are thinking of another trip to Pacific Grove and would definitely stay here again.
We enjoyed three nights here. The inn is very charming, and in a great location in Pacific Grove. Our room was quite small, but cozy and comfortable. Its not a great setup to work in, but is good for vacation.Hospitality is excellent. Loved the evening glass of wine. The included breakfast is also very nice, with fresh made scones. All of the staff were very friendly.The whole experience is very un-hotel, and thats a good thing.I would recommend, and go back.
Beautifully decorated 1900s era building with a lovely front porch and gardens. So many nice touches- cookies and wine in the afternoon and breakfast!! Scones were yummy!!! Easy walk to a gorgeous park where we sat and watched the waves!

Those unlucky guest get to cruise the streets looking for a parking spot. No closet or dresser. An armoire provides limited storage. Very limited shelf / storage space in the bathroom. The same breakfast ( yogurt and scones) every day.In retrospect a good choice for one or two nights. Not a good choice for a longer stay.
All the staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful, starting with the reservation I made by phone. The room was lovely and comfortable. Loved the baked goods, both for breakfast and in the afternoon. The scones were special--and I dont even usually like scones! Excellent location--walkable to everywhere.
Loved everything about our stay at Centrella Inn! Location was perfect - BEAUTIFUL walk along coast to Cannery Row, and around the corner from tons of shops and wonderful restaurants in Pacific Grove. All the staff were sweet, kind and accommodating. The rooms were beautifully appointed (comfortable bed), historic and clean. Scones, parfait and coffee in the morning were fantastic!! Wine in the garden courtyard in the evening couldnt be beat! Highly recommend Centrella Inn!
We really like the layout in the cottage we rented. Perfect for two women traveling together. Our only complaint is when we stay 3 nights, the breakfast becomes very boring. Would be nice to change it up once in awhile.
Beautiful and charming bed & breakfast. Very close to the ocean, main street restaurants and walking distance to the aquarium. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast scones and parfaits were yummy and afternoon glass of wine was a nice touch.

We overnighted here on a recent trip to Monterey to visit the Aquarium. We had a very pleasant stay. Our vintage room was very accommodating, bed was comfy. It was raining all night though so we didnt get out for dinner or round and about but we learned that Monterey has a wintering population of Monarch butterflies and the preservation society for that is just 3-4 blocks from Centrella. Very cool. Breakfast was yummy scones and granola yogurt / coffee in an enchanting little breakfast area w friendly staff. This is close to 17-mile loop in Pebble Beach which we thoroughly enjoyed ($12) for awesome views, birds, sea otters and $31 million dollar homes. Check it out if you stay at Centrella
The charming old cottages provided the perfect setting for seeing our granddaughters and their parents after way too long. The kids loved the patio and gardens with the fountains and animal figures all around. We stayed in Cottage # 5, an upstairs apartment above their rooms in Cottage 4, making impromptu visits and evening gatherings both spontaneous and private! The sofa beds were easy to transform at bedtime and then again in the morning. The furnishings included all we needed with a table and chairs for 4 as well as the sitting area with a fireplace in the great room. We all enjoyed the atmosphere created by the quaint decor.The coffee, homemade scones and yogurt parfaits served in the morning were delicious and prepared to eat in the dining room or to take back to our cottages. And the people serving us were flawlessly friendly and very informative. It was lovely!
The smell of freshly baked goods upon arrival already set the right tone. Whatever limited interaction with the staff for questions, grabbing a complimentary glass of wine between 4pm-9pm or breakfast between 8am-10am, and check-in / check-out, it was courteous and with a smile. Location is great for being able to walk other places (right next to Lovers Point, few minutes from downtown PG, and 1-mile along the ocean to Cannery Row) and the room was hospitable; will gladly consider again if making a trip down that way.
The front desk staff was the deciding factor for booking this particular hotel. Very friendly over the phone and accommodating. We loved the location, so close to town and to the beach. And it was great to stay someplace that didnt have an extra charge for parking. The hotel itself is quaint, which adds to its unique character, and has a wonderful patio on which to relax. Although they arent serving a full breakfast, the scones and yogurt parfait were wonderful! And the wine and cookies in the afternoon were a special treat, too.
Cute BNB with old world style charm. Rooms are simple and have the basics. We didn’t spend a lot of time in our room so this was fine for us. Not noisy and slept well. Offers sweets and a glass of wine in the evenings and a decent breakfast in the morning. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely return!
We enjoyed our stay at the Centrella Inn. The bathroom was spacious with a great shower. We also loved the baked goods that were out for happy hour! The location is perfect for walking to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and walking to restaurants in downtown Pacific Grove.
Nice breakfast (scones and made to order yogurt parfaits) - they have trays to take back to the room. Loved the garden cottage, we have loud kids so it was great to let them play while not disturbing other guests. Also really enjoyed the cozy gas fireplace. The staff were very friendly.
We stayed here for our mini moon in early December 2021. I picked it because online it was the best rating to price ratio for the dates we wanted. It was Walking distance from several great places to eat (we went to toasties and the red house cafe) and from lovers point, which was a scenic and easy mile walk to the aquarium and cannery row. Free generously poured glass of wine each evening if we got back before 9. The rooms were comfortable and had nice showers and beds. Was a lovely and reasonably priced stay for a relaxed couples trip, would definitely stay here again.
We always enjoy our stays here.We enjoy the parlor where breakfast is served, especially when it is sunny 🌞. The room is so warm and bright.This stay was in early December and the inn was beautifully decorated, with a gorgeous tree.We missed the wonderful breakfasts of years past, but also enjoyed the breakfast parfaits and scones that were served.We will return as we always enjoy visiting the inn and the near by monarch butterfly 🦋 preserve and all that the area has to offer.
Enjoyed a low-key, holiday season stay in this lovely property just a short walk from Lovers Point. No excuses for skipping exercise, with numerous waterfront paths offering stunning views of the bay. Staff is welcoming and friendly; the inn provides a tasty continental breakfast and keeps a self-serve, mini-bakery stocked throughout the day. Guests are offered wine in the evening that can be enjoyed before the cozy fire in the dining room. Our king size bed was luxurious; enjoyed the best sleep ever! Dont miss a stroll through the garden, punctuated with three whimsical water fountains and some lovely plantings. Just a few short blocks away is downtown Pacific Grove, with its cute shops and restaurants. The location of the Centrella could not be better. ~The Schweitzers
The Centrella is a beautiful quaint old soul type of place. It was peaceful and we felt like we were being pampered. The view overlooking the garden was serene and made us feel like we never wanted to leave. The staff was kind, attentive and very friendly.
We stayed in one of the cottages with our small dog. The accommodations were clean, quiet and comfortable. The location is convenient for walking to the beach as well as downtown restaurants and shops and a short drive from both Monterey and Carmel. All of the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. I would stay at the Centrella Inn on a future visit.
We loved our stay at Centrella Inn. It was the perfect location, and absolutely charming. The rooms were clean and well equipped with ammenties for our stay. I particularly enjoyed how the smell of fresh chocolate chip cookies during the day! What a treat. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
The building is clean, full of charm, with an old-fashioned feel thats both welcoming and comforting. The staff is always pleasant and helpful, and went out of their way to fulfill our requests. There were always healthy goodies available, and breakfast as well. All in all, we felt right at home. The location is fantastic--mere blocks from the ocean, the Monarch Preserve, several excellent restaurants, a short drive to Carmel or Monterey. We not only felt pampered, we felt completely safe. We would stay here again and again.
Wonderful spot for a few nights in Monterey. Lovely service, cute rooms and right by Lovers Point which has some good restaurants, and a lovely walk down to cannery row. The complimentary wine and baked treats were a lovely touch (good local wine too), and breakfast was great. We will stay here again next time we are in Monterey.

This is our third time staying at the Centrella Inn. If you love Victorian era architecture and period furniture, youll love the Centrella Inn; its full of character and charm. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Upon our check in, they had fresh baked chocolate chip cookies set out in the lobby. We stayed in one of the Victorian Premier rooms which was just big enough for my husband and I. The bed and pillows were super comfortable, I slept like a baby. In the morning they provided fresh fruit parfaits and homemade scones. They also provide coupons to two of the local restaurants for breakfast. The beach is within a 10 minute walking distance and downtown area is a 2 minute drive, lots of nice restaurants nearby. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stat and cant wait to return!
PROS:- Location!! Walking distance from dining, drinks, parks, the ocean and shops. A short drive or long walk to Monterey Bay Aquarium (2 miles, give or take)- Charm. Its a historic spot with lots of quaint charm.- Staff. All friendly, all helpful.- Quiet at night.- Breakfast selection was far superior to what many other places offer. Complementary infused water, coffee, hot chocolate, cookies.CONS:- The windows didnt close, and it was VERY noisy pretty early in the morning.- Not Light Sleeper friendly.- Bathroom floor needed mopping.- Curtains are largely decorative, they dont block light and theyre stuck in place.Overall this was a very cute and warm establishment. Its about on par for a historic inn, so keep your expectations reasonable. If youre looking for a vacation spot thats similar to staying off Main Street in Half Moon Bay, then this is the area for you!

Short anniversary getaway with the hubs and we stayed at Centrella Inn for 3 nights. The location of the inn was great! Walking distance to Cannery Row and a couple blocks away from downtown PG and the beach. Also close to the Pacific Grove Golf Links.Quaint little inn. Staff were very friendly. We found our room to be comfortable - appreciated the little sitting area. Bed was comfortable - we slept well. Floor was creaky but we didn’t mind that much.Enjoyed their fresh scones every morning- crisp and buttery. Their yogurt parfaits were also a great start to our day.We really enjoyed our stay at Centrella Inn and would definitely return when visiting Monterey again.
The first night my girlfriend was a little scared thinking it was haunted but that fear quickly faded. The rooms are quaint and peaceful, the entire inn has a really nice antique feeling to it. The yogurt parfaits, fresh scones, fresh cookies, and coffee are all made from scratch. The staff are super friendly and hospitable, which can be rare in California. We will be staying here whenever we are in pacific grove or Monterey area in the future. We had a wonderful stay in the premiere rooms.

Perfect Pacific Grove location. We were a block away from dining, entertainment, and local shops, and a 3 minute walk from Lovers Point. We barely used our car! The inn is charming, the employees were super nice and helpful, and the breakfast scones and parfaits were something to look forward to every morning :) The room was cozy, had a comfy bed, period furniture, and a private bathroom. The area was so quiet and peaceful at night, I slept so well! Highly recommend this inn.
The people at the front desk were very helpful and kind we received a warm welcome the room was better than we expected and was very clean. The only thing that probably needs to be tuned up a bit is the landscaping lots of weeds a little pond was void of most of its water and some of the plants were in need of TLC!
We stayed on one of the adorable cottages. Lovely grounds and great location. Walking distance to restaurants and Lovers Point Beach. Delicious fresh cookies almost all day and freshly baked scones in the morning along with a yogurt parfait. I wish there had been in room coffee only because I am an early riser and coffee was not available until almost 8 AM. The Inn does not serve breakfast but there are discounts available for good nearby restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.
This is the second time Ive stayed there and I really enjoyed the homey feel. I did not attend breakfast because I was told it was scones and yogurt. Not fond of either so I would say my only complaint or suggestion would be for a couple more options for breakfast.
We had very high expectations for the photos. So we were a bit disappointed with the reality. The photos do not fully correspond to reality. The rooms are very small. You can hardly open a suitcase on the floor. Unfortunately, the bed was not comfortable and air was drawn into the room through the closed windows. A revision in the existing style would do the house good. There was no breakfast as promised and shown in the photos, you were given some scones and some fruit. This is unacceptable for this price.
Central and is a nice historical building to stay at. The rooms are small Victorian style and not a lot of outlets but comfy. The location is good its close to the aquarium within about a mile and its close to downtown Pacific Grove.

My friend and I stayed at Centrella inn for two nights, this place is around 130 years, the moment you walk in you step into history. I had a great experience, comfortable queen bed and pillows, average shower, and entertainment is at walking and Customer service are amazing. Breakfast is a must, believe it. You’ll never want to stay at a Hotel again. (: definitely will go back or try other similar ones.
What a find! I was looking for a nice place in Pacific Grove my wife’s special birthday with our two small dogs. The General Manager, Erna put us up in a wonderful private cottage. She and her assistant, Omema surprised my wife with an elaborate package which went above and beyond any of my expectations. This was included in the price, but was presented with the utmost care, as was the case with all other services and amenities. Not to forget Toni, who assisted us with our departure. We will be returning.
We stayed in one of the cottages onsite. Our cottage was very clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel was amazing - just a few minute walk to Lovers Point and right next to the Pacific Grove main street area. We will definitely return next time we are in town!

Erna at the front desk is so wonderful and always takes such good care of us. Virginia in housekeeping was so kind and accommodating. The rooms are always clean and lovely. The rates are reasonable. They also have coffee and these amazing scones in the morning. This is always my go to place to stay in Pacific Grove. I always feel safe and at home here. Especially important when I travel alone.
This was a lovely place to stay in Pacific Grove. It was a 1 mile walk to the aquarium, and like a 5 minute walk to the beach. Also the morning scones were DELICIOUS. I need that recipe. The room itself was fine. It was clean and the bed was comfy. It was a little small, but perfectfor us and relatively affordable compared to other places in th area. Would absolutely stay again.
The entire property was clean and well maintained. The room was very clean and comfortable. We were given a tour of other room types and there is a wide variety including cottages and suites (we had a standard queen room). The breakfast was very simply but tasty. The scones are small and parfaits were good. The coffee was very good! The garden would be an enjoyable place to relax and read the newspaper or enjoy a drink. Restaurants and shopping are in walking distance. Lovers Point is in walking distance, too. This is important because on weekends it’s nearly impossible to find a parking place at Lovers Point. I will definitely stay at Centrella Inn again.
We stayed in cabin three. Very comfortable and clean and a good time of year to visit. We walked into Monterey/aquarium and rented bikes to ride to Pebble Beach. I would comment that being an older house, the windows I. The cabin are single pane and the walls thin. We were woken late one evening by some people sitting in the court yard chatting and laughing, not overly loud, and smoking pot as we could smell it in our room even though we had no windows open. I would think this place would be very hot in the summer.
Excellent service, accommodations, attention to detail. We stayed again in the garden room for our anniversary. The staff was friendly and the room was very clean. The jetted tub was excellent and hot, the tile and grout looked brand new.
Quiet, clean bright room on 3rd floor. Would stay again. Downside: Breakfast quoted in online advert had been canceled, with coffee and two scones for replacement. Should have been notified, or price reduced. No reason given, other than governor canceled. Were from California, and know that its possible to serve food in other ways. Also, fireplace in the lobby area was not able to be turned on. For some reason that was unclear. I know its hard in a pandemic, we kept each other happy and the room was beautiful. In general, felt unwelcome in lobby area. Spray attachment in bathtub broken. Separate shower and bath worked fine in room 32.Beautiful neighborhood.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay. As we did two years ago, before Covid-19.The staff was excellent as always. The garden room has a nice jacuzzi bathtub. It shares a wall with the lobby and kitchen, so keep that in mind if you want privacy.Overall it was very cute and nice. The location is very good.
Stayed in this place few months ago with mixed feeling. We were very excited when reserving this place as it has very high rating on both google maps and bookings.com and the little castle like appearance in the photo is very appealing. Then the dream broke when we arrived. Its just an old big house by the normal street side with a few parking spaces. Most guests need to park on the street.There is no elevator and I saw two senior couples drag their luggages step by step down the stairs. I went offer my help twice.I understand some seniors choose this old houseThe room was small with many little places need finishing up or fixed up. The floor has squeaky sounds which is normal for its age. I hope hotel management has fixed those little things here and there since our stay few months ago.Due to COVID-19, there was no breakfast just muffins. There was nothing in the room when we check in, no bottle water either.All are fine if its a 4.1 hotel but 4.6? I wonder some 5 stars reviewers with only 1 or 2 reviews are serious about their reviews.
The Centrella Inn is so charming. It was so relaxing sitting in their beautiful garden. They have amazing chocolate chip cookies and scones for a nice treat. The bed was so comfortable I had the first good night sleep in so long. I used the fan they supplied as white noise. It is perfectly located to walk to shops or a down to Lovers beach. I highly recommend it. I will definitely be visiting again.
Lovely decorations, friendly staff, rooms are clean and comfortable. Reduced breakfast was delicious. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that my room was so small there was no room for a desk or counter, so I had to do my work using the bed as a desk. And there is no hot breakfast (as there used to be) in the morning, when by now there actually could be.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was well kept and the breakfast parfait and scones were delicious. Centrella inn is a quaint place to stay in a great location of Pacific Grove. I highly recommend staying here for a night or two.
Coming back to the Centrella was good, but:We missed the fuller breakfasts.We weren’t asked if we liked raisin scones, which we do not.We weren’t asked if we liked yogurt on the granola, which I do not.We missed having at least some snack for the wine hour.We missed the other guests being more open to conversations- I guess that’s Covid-19’s fault.
Lovely stay! I dont know when Ill ever get out to Monterey again, but I would choose to stay here every time. Pacific Grove is the place to stay in Monterey. Affordable, comfortable, charming, perfect location.
Nice, quiet and cozy. Staff was extremely helpful & accommodating. Rooms were cozy, bed was really comfy and the comforter was warm. The futon was not very comfy but it’s what could be expected of a futon. Breakfast was made to order & delicious. I would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone that would like a quiet getaway. Oh & Location was a $5-$10 Uber ride to aquarium, canary row & also the pier. Great location. Also very short walk to many restaurants shops & beach.
It was a very charming inn! Its a historic property, so expect to stay in an old Victorian house. Despite being an older property, the place is very well maintained; clean and everything works. When we stayed in November 2020 they gave out delicious home-made cookies at night, and equally scrumptious scones in the morning. The staff was very courteous and attentive.

The Centrella Inn is old and well maintained in one of my favorite small coastal towns. The breakfasts were small but delicious. The staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was small but well appointed. We have a need to be in P.G. 4-5 times a year and will have the opportunity to revisit.

Im surprised by all the glowing reviews. We do travel a lot but still Im surprised reviews are so high. The staff was nice, that was the biggest plus. The house is 130+ years old and was a boarding school. Its old and creaky, not romantic or charming. Our room was so small we had just enough room to walk around the bed. We were completely disappointed. Nothing charming about it at all. We paid $300 to upgrade to a nicer room and got a small cottage. The layout and space were nice, fireplace, small bathtub, all good and well. The downside was it smelled both mildewy and like Fabreeze. We live in CA and know prices are really high here, but even so I didnt think this place offered a good value at all. The original room was expensive for being a tiny room under the stairs with lots of noise from passing neighbors. Except for two of the cottages, all the rooms are on main streets with lots of noise. I cant recommend this place even though the staff were friendly. There were no vegan breakfast items and no vegan milk. We went out for breakfast and coffee.
Our stay there was wonderful! The rooms were comfortable, quaint, and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Wonderful light breakfast every morning.
The B & B was very quaint and clean, the breakfast was great, and you cant beat the location. So close to restaurants and the beach. The only cons would be that I booked a room with two twin beds when I made the reservations, but when I checked in we were given a queen and there were no other twins available. I should have been able to get the type of room I thought I booked. The last one is just the location of the room we were in. It was right at the front of the building next to the road, so you could hear people talking all the time and also lots of road noise.
Our stay at Centrella was relaxing and refreshing. What a beautiful, peaceful home and garden even with a visiting deer! The scones and yoghurt parfait were perfect in the morning, as were the homemade cookies in the evening. Plus we enjoyed our walks to the beach, as well as to restaurants and shops.
Overpriced but more representative of the local market than this location. Nothing special about the lover’s loft that made my partner and I feel like it was due the romantic name.The complimentary breakfast was disappointing - not only do you have to ask for it (instead of it being offered to you) but it’s just a pastry or yogurt and granola.
We loved the cottage 1 bedroom and breakfasts but it’s obvious that the Hotel has seen better days. It is a little too run down for the price. A lot of paint would improve the place tremendously. We might stay there again when it is renovated.
We had a fantastic stay in the Lovers Loft. We had a small view of the ocean through the shower window and plenty of sunlight through the others. The seagulls are a little loud during the early morning and evenings, but that just reminds you how close you are to the ocean. The breakfast and coffee are top notch!
Centrella is a beautiful inn that has seen better days. Our room was lovely and quiet, which can be an issue in some inns. The scones and chocolate chip cookies were a welcome start and end to the day. Only issue is its tired. Furniture is old and many pieces were stained.
The Inn is ideally located for vacation activities. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the service was friendly and helpful. Freshly baked cookies upon arrival and an evening glass of wine added to the comfort and pleasure of staying at Centrella. We look forward to a return visit.

Walking distance to downtown Pacific Grove and the beautiful Lovers Point beaches and rocks. A nice extra are the delicious scones that they bake right there at the inn.
My husband and I love the Centrella Inn! This is our third time staying here. We first stayed here on our honeymoon and have stayed twice to celebrate my birthday. If you love Victorian era architecture, craftsmanship, and lots of charm then this is the place for you. The staff was very helpful, as always; checking in was a breeze. They also offer fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the evenings. In the morning they offer yogurt parfait w/fresh fruit, granola, and honey; fresh scones are also available. There are coupons for for 10% and 15% off at Toasties and Red House Cafe respectively. Both of these restaurants are within a very short walking distance. We tried Toasties as they offer a large selection of items and their omelettes were super delicious! As for our room, we stayed in one of the Victorian Premier rooms on the 2nd floor. It truly is like stepping into the past as the room is completely decked out in Victorian era furniture and decor (except for the t.v.). The room was just big enough for my husband and I and had two wicker chairs and a table by the window....very nice. There is an armoire for your clothes and two night stands. The bed and pillows were super comfy! The bathroom has a really nice shower and they supply you w/shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. There is a nice garden area outside w/tables and chairs. You can also sit and relax on the large, front porch. Downtown Pacific Grove is just a 2 minute drive away. You may also see deer walking through town. And of course, the beach is just about a 10 minute walk away. The Centrella Inn is a wonderful, historic, and truly charming location for your next stay and we cant wait to return next year!
I loved the location and old Victorian decor of the Centrella Inn. However, I’m an early riser (~5 am every day) and there was no coffee available in the room or the Inn until 7:10 am. So, I would walk about 0.5 miles away just for a cup of coffee versus waiting 2 hours after I woke.
We loved the handicapped room!! My husband had heart surgery and its hard for him to walk and step up. He said he really enjoyed that the shower that it was so easy to get into. Everyone at the desk was very pleasant and welcoming. We appreciated Scott getting us set up with our cinnamon rolls (he told us where we could buy the awesome things!!!!) to sit outside so we would be in compliance!!! Centralla Inn was so close to everywhere we wanted to go!!! We will be back again next year, if not before!!!!!
Wonderful hotel to stay at. Breakfast was very good with lots of options, complimentary glass of wine in the evening, and a charming dainty Victorian atmosphere. Perfect for a couple getaway. Decently priced and great location, only 3 minute walk from Lovers Point and 18 minute walk from the aquarium (walk there and save money from not parking!). Would definitely come back here and recommend to friends.
Rooms are comfortable, albeit a little small. The location is spectacular! Very nice people. Its not a bed and breakfast per se - yogurt and delicious scones, with coffee and tea. Quaint, comfortable, and nice.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay. What a beautiful old victorian home, with so much charm and history. The staff are friendly and the breakfasts were yummy. We walked to several wonderful restaurants and the beach. What a great spot. Well defiantly be back.
Historic building. Nicely renovated historic hotel. Kind of treated like a b&b. Nice service and included breakfast. A short walk to the ocean or restaurants. Over 20 rooms. Limited 5 car parking but we found parking on the street, small rooms, tight bathrooms, no air conditioning, had heating but turned off or did not work. We did not worry about the heat since the weather was ok with or without it. Did not see an elevator so you have to drag your bags upstairs.. maybe to the 3rd floor. A couple of rooms are right at the front door which are most likely very noisy. No real view of anything. If you like historic places to stay, this is a great place.Never heard about any wine tasting here...
Im not usually an inn person, but I had a really nice experience here. Though the building is an old Victorian and the rooms are on the small side, the bathrooms have clearly been recently remodeled, which is great. Breakfast in the morning is made to order (eggs, sausage, etc.), not just a boring continental breakfast. All the employees were friendly and very helpful -- the young woman at the counter who we asked about things to do in town had tons of information. The location is also in walking distance of a lot of cool things in town. If youre going to the aquarium, get tickets here (same price) so you can skip the line!
Nice place, we have stayed on a few occasions now. The breakfasts werent the best, but they were ok. Staff was great, never did figure out when the wine tastings were. Centrally located, nice rooms, nice common spaces. A half hour walk to the aquarium and the free trolley in Monterey, lots of places very walkable in Pacific Grove.
I feel like I’m going home when I stay at the Centrella Inn hotel in Pacific Grove. The staff makes you feel as if you were family. The breakfast homemade scones and granola and the variety of cookies are superb!!!! Thank you!
So sad to leave this review as we actually really liked our cottage, and the location is amazing. Ive been hopeful over the last month Centrella Inn would rectify this situation, but despite my attempts, they have not.The weekend of 2/13 my husband, son, pup and I booked one of their cottages for two nights at a total of roughly $900. During our stay the glass overlay of a wooden coffee table was damaged when my refillable water bottle fell over. The table itself was not damaged at all, but the glass piece on top of the table, not necessary for the tables function, broke into two large pieces, jagged and sharp, with glass shards falling to the floor. We moved the large pieces outside and notified the front desk and I cleaned up the shards. We told the front desk we would of course pay for the glass piece to be replaced.Upon checkout I was given a receipt for $400 for the charges, which they had already run on my credit card. I explained that while we were happy to pay for the glass, we felt that $400 was excessive. I was told the owner would call me and left my number. I emailed the same day and told them I would be happy to pay for the glass to be replaced but there was no way the cost was $400. They replied that the glass was tempered which is why it cost so much. The glass that broke was 100% absolutely NOT tempered. I explained this to them and asked for a receipt or estimate for the replacement.A week went by with no word so I emailed again. I was told the owner still had not been in touch regarding the receipt/estimate. Another week went by and I again reached out. I was told once again, they did not have this. It has since been another week.I know they will not be able to provide a receipt for this because a small piece of non tempered glass does not cost anywhere near the $400 I was billed. Perhaps theyd like to replace it with tempered glass, which in my opinion would not have broken and is likely a good idea for safety, but I do not think its anywhere near fair to charge me for tempered glass when what was damaged, was not tempered glass. The owner never did call me.Such a shame as we live fairly close to Pacific Grove and really adored the cottage. We would have certainly returned for other weekends had they just taken a little consideration into the fair way to solve this.
My room was cozy with everything I needed, comfy bed, beautiful roomy shower with very absorbent towels and shower essentials. My room also had a bright reading nook!!The staff were friendly and helpful.I definitely will be back!!

Nice room, tasty simple breakfast, friendly staff. My only major issues were that not all the staff were masked during the current COVID surge ( indoor masking is strongly advised for everyone right now)I also wish that the soap and shampoo listed ingredients. I could not use them due to possible allergies.

Warm and inviting reception upon arrival; feels like a home, very comfortable. Room well-sized and appointed. A glass of wine in the evening and fruit and yogurt parfaits and scones for breakfast were special.
The loft was great it was one of the nicest rooms Ive seen in a BB. The garden area at night is great for a glass of wine and the freshly made scones and parfaits are delicious in morning.
The room was quiet even though it faced a street, the bed was comfortable, there were plenty of pillows and blankets, and a fresh brownie really hits the spot in the middle of the afternoon. :)
This was an old bed and breakfast but it is what made it unique. Felt like home with the smell of baked goods for breakfast and evening snacks coming into the rooms. Driving distance to Cannery row and walking distance to shops. No elevator so pack a light bag if you got upper floor. Parking fills up in front but there are some spots on the street.
The Centrella Inn is a beautiful historic building. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and the staff is amazing. We will definitely stay here again.
I can’t say enough good things about this bed & breakfast in Monterey. We found this spot when reading travel blogs for our PCH road trip. Since we were booking as we arrived at our destinations & happened to get a “deal” at the Intercontinental Clement Hotel (see separate review) we almost missed this gem. Thankfully we were able to cancel and book at Centrella Inn’s last available room. Centrella Inn is in a beautiful historic home that is very well decorated to reflect its character and charm. We stayed in a downstairs room right at the entrance and it was perfect and were never bothered by guests coming and going. Our room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and there were two nice chairs to relax near the large windows. There was no AC, but it wasn’t an issue for us since the weather was pleasant in early October. The concierge at the Inn gave us some restaurant recommendations and was very welcoming and friendly. The Inn normally provides breakfast but we was limited to coffee and homemade scones due to COVID precautions, which we completely understood. The coffee and scones were both delicious! We enjoyed our coffee on the welcoming porch and then went on our way to our next destination.
Staff always takes care of our large group, with courtesy, kindness, and professionalism. It impresses me every year we’re there. Always look forward to returning.
Room was very small but overall atmosphere made up for it. Beautiful garden in back and very quiet and peaceful Inn. I slept better here than at my own place! The receptionist was very friendly and morning breakfast was medicore (didnt expect much though). Distance to Monterey and downtown Pacific Grove was fantastic.

Comfy nights stay, fast internet. Had a great breakfast. Our room was a little small for our bags. Because we were at the bottom of the staircase it was a little loud as well. Overall great experience. Location is amazing. One block from a lot of restaurants and two blocks to the waterfront and lovers point!
My daughter and I recently stayed at the Centrella Inn and were absolutely delighted with our experience. The staff was very friendly while still following Covid rules strictly. I felt very safe. They couldnt serve breakfast inside per the county ordinance but provided delicious scones and coffee that we enjoyed outside in their garden and on the front porch. Our room was lovely, sweet, and clean. The inn is nicely located and we walked everywhere. Three blocks to the ocean and a block or two to shopping, a farmers market, and restaurants. Parking is ample. Outdoor only dining was allowed and I commend the Pacific Grove restaurants for adapting and creating a warm ambience in the chilly November outdoors and delicious food very thoughtfully served, Covid style.I highly recommend that you walk from the inn to the bike rental shop and enjoy 17 mile drive on your own power. I wil definately return to the Centrella Inn.
My husband and I went here on a trip for our 5th anniversary. The staff was so nice and helpful, and we were even upgraded to a suite because it was our anniversary - so thoughtful! This is such a charming property, filled with lovely antiques and touches that remind you that you are staying in a historic Victorian mansion. The inns location is wonderful, right in walking distance to all the best restaurants and attractions in the area. The breakfast in the morning was very good, featuring a hot entree, a selection of pastries, juice, and coffee. I hope to stay at this inn again when I return to the area!
From the delicious cookies and wine at arrival, to the hearty farewell when we departed, every moment at the Centrella was one to cherish. Warm hospitality, clean, comfortable, and romantic rooms, and high standards for COVID protocols made our trip much, much too short! We will return ASAP!
We loved staying in cottage 4. It was very quiet and we felt like we were in our own private garden. Weve been coming to the Centrella Inn for 20 years and this is the first time we stayed in a cottage. However, we sorely missed breakfast at the inn and cant wait until covid is over and travel returns to normal!

ProsThe location of this place is what you are paying for. It is close to Lovers point and within walking distance of restaurants and shops. The decor is nice and everything is clean. The linens and pillows are soft, shining white, and cozy. The scones were delightful. They were fresh, buttery, flaky, and melt in your mouth. There are free snacks and wine in the evening. The lobby is a lovely place to read a book. They gave us a coupon for a free appetizer at the Beach House restaurant, which was very nice.ConsThe staff are not very warm or friendly. Between check-in and breakfast I didnt see a smile once. We arrived on time for our scheduled check-in at 3 pm and had to wait for 30 minutes before our room was finished being cleaned.The rooms are overpriced for their size. There was an antique closet, but no place to sit to write or use a laptop. There was barely enough room for our suitcases. The only place to put them was in line to the bathroom, so we had to hop over them to use the facilities.The breakfast was disappointing. They say that it is made to order, but my oatmeal looked and tasted like instant oats. It was supposed to come with fresh berries. What I received was a tablespoon of blackberries that looked like they were frozen and had been defrosted. The oatmeal itself was watery. The coffee was in a dispenser, not very hot, and it ran out. When I asked the server for more he delayed and never got around to filling up the thermos.The evening snack consisted of olives (that tasted like the jar they likely came from), premade hummus, and premade artichoke dip. The hummus had no flavor. The dip looked like it was mostly sour cream with very little spinach or artichokes.The website makes it seem like you can get spa services in your room, which is misleading. The inn will schedule a massage for you ahead of time with a local business. I called two days before checking in and asked for a massage, but the receptionist acted inconvenienced and asked me to call the spa myself to make a reservation. I booked this room as a gift for my husbands birthday and wanted to make it special, but we ended up not getting massages because we got busy with our vacation, and the inn never followed up on the spa services.In all, it feels like this inn inflates the price of their rooms with amenities like snacks and made to order breakfast. If you want a homey cozy environment with welcoming hosts I would go somewhere else.
Beautiful building in a great location. This is very relaxed for a B&B, which is what we wanted. The breakfast was tasty, especially the coffee and scones. They offer a few choices, including omelettes, eggs prepared to order, and a couple of frittatas. Plenty of free parking in a lot, and around the neighborhood.
Place is built in 1896 or 92. But still well maintained. Everyone at reception is great. They would give coffee every morning. They cleaned and did bed and room nicely. One less star for not clean room carpet.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly patrons and the nice lady at the registration desk. She offered me a glass of wine and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, which eased the tensions from a long drive from the SF East Bay. A walk in the garden to get acquainted with the place was completely magical. An Annas Hummingbird was splashing and bathing in a bird bath fountain. The room was lovely and comfortable, and parking was a breeze. The location, being just blocks from the water at Lovers Point, and right around the corner from my favorite restaurant attraction in PG: Passionfish Restaurant. Ive never been disappointed with that restaurant. The Centrella Inn offers discount coupons for a free appetizer at Passionfish, and discounts on The Red House Cafe and other breakfast spots within walking distance. The Centrellas signature scones negated my need to find breakfast elsewhere. They were amazing! I would definitely recommend the Centrella to my friends and family.

Charming B&B in great location! The owners have maintained the charm of this historic home while still offering all modern ammentities. There were lots of lovely places to sit outside on the porch and well-maintained garden area. The location is hard to beat -- just a few minutes walk from the beach at Lovers Point and several restaurants, and a short drive to the beautiful Point Lobos State Reserve. It was quiet at night (aside from the seagulls). We especially loved the delicious, warm apricot scones with breakfast!Staff and guests were compling with masking and distancing recommendations. Breakfast was served outdoors only. Rooms were thoroughly cleaned and hand sanitizer was readily available.Overall highly recommended!
The service at Centrella was terrific. Everyone from the font desk to the breakfast wait staff went above and beyond; the housekeeping staff even lined up my kids stuffed animals (wow). Breakfast food was good, B+, and the afternoon wine happy hour took the edge off the day. The room (cottage) was ok. It had a bit of rustic charm, but parts (the carpet, sofa, wood around the sink, etc) were a bit worn and detracted from the ambiance.
The location was amazing and a perfect distance away from the beach and downtown. The staff was super friendly and assisted us with all of our needs. It wasnt super busy and it was the perfect quiet spot to relax after a long day!
The Centrella is in a great location, most everything was with in about a mile of it. We had one of the larger rooms, very nice and clean, beautifully decorated. The breakfast was delicious, there was a great variety of things on the menu.
On duty staff were friendly, helpful. The daily morning baked scones and good coffee, and afternoon baked chocolate chips cookies ( in safety wrap) are a touch of home and comfort in COVID19 times.The garden and outdoor seating are great respite for to-go lunch after hikes.The room and bedding are clean and warm; the garden windows allow in light, and filter sea view blocks away.The Inn located one block off busy Lighthouse Ave., easy walk to restaurants, coffee shop, gift shop, and post office. Also, couple blocks from scenery Lovers Point Park and the Pacific Grove-Monterey coastal trail.
What a hidden gem. My parents have lived in Carmel for nearly two decades and we are somehow only discovering this spot?! It was so lovely and we cant wait to get back. Ideally located right in the middle: beach a few blocks west and town one block east. Doesnt get better!!! And bonus the whole family (2 adults, 2 young kiddos + a pooch) were all extremely comfortable in the cottage (bonus it had streetside entrance for loading/unloading). You must pop by the front desk in the afternoon for the homemade cookies - to die for.
The ABSOLUTE BEST stay of our 6 day California Adventure! Loved every aspect of Centrella Inn! Very accommodating and friendly staff. Very close to Lovers Point Beach to watch the sunset! Beautiful building, and lovely location. The staff were welcoming and we appreciated the delicious scones and complimentary glass of wine, which we enjoyed in the garden. We will be coming back soon!

Stayed in a cottage that needed maintenance. The phone didnt work, the toilet had to be repaired by my husband, heating problems, outside light fixtures were out, and it wasnt clean inside or outside the cottage. Little COVID-19 practices in place. Disappointed in our stay and felt we overpaid.

I love Pacific Grove because its small town. I enjoy the walkable streets the beautiful homes, and the ocean nearby. I like this little hotel because of its antique charm. If you want modern this is not your place. If you want old and cozy then it is. I most enjoy the fireplace and lounge in the evening....its very relaxing....I also enjoy the lounge because it is small....new and modern no. Old and charming. Definitely....
Cozy B&B with nice location near lovers point. We had a 2nd floor room near the front on the street. Small dated rooms. The street traffic and garbage trucks were very noisy. The mating seagulls screamed all day until midnight, so you have to keep the windows shut. There is no A/C. They prepare your breakfast, but Sam didnt take our order or another guests.
Great location!Close to downtown restaurants and close to Lover’s Point and beach walk! Updated bathrooms in Victorian era hotel. Room 14 has great bay window sitting area looking out the front of hotel.Service was wonderful!
This is the second time stay here. Rooms at cozy and food is good. Location is perfect, walking distance from Pacific Grove downtown. Worst part is the hot water goes form hot to cold. But it is an old house. Lots of rooms and dog friendly.
Location, friendly staff, old building in good condition, antique furniture. Downtown Pacific Grove with many fine restaurants is a block away. Ocean is three blocks away. A great area for walking. Location does not get better. Good parking in their lot, or on the street. Breakfast, provided, plus in the evening cookies and a glass of wine. Building is old, rooms are a bit small, no fridges in rooms.
We love the friendly, homely atmosphere at Centrella Inn. Service is great, breakfast is delicious, and we always look forward to the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies with tea or hot chocolate in the evenings. There are nice spots for us to hangout such as the upstairs nook or the beautiful garden yard. It is a short walk from Lovers Point and some of our favorite restaurants in Pacific Grove. We highly recommend!
It was a perfect time for me, I was there to celebrate my girlfriends birthday and the only problem I had was it was not long enough for me to get her really excited but she said that it was a very memorable birthday and she will never forget it.Thank you for the hospitality and excellent service.It was the best experience I have ever had!

Really quaint hotel with helpful staff and a great atmosphere! My wife and I stayed here in our honeymoon, and once the staff found that out they made every attempt to make our stay as great and wonderful as ever! Amazing free breakfast and really cool historic rooms! Would definitely recommend, and we will definitely be returning!

Clean! Close proximity to the town and beach. I will for sure stay here next time. The onlyNegative was the front door of the cottage would stick so it was very hard to open. My husband is tall so he had to fold in half to use the shower as his head hit the ceiling. Not a deal breaker at all.
Responsive and friendly staff, fabulous location, two minutes walk to the costal walking trail, two minutes to downtown PG with plenty good restaurants to choose from. We stayed in one of the victorian rooms, comfortable and clean, room size on the small side though. For longer stay, will need more room to spread out, especially during the pandemic. Our room faces the 17th Street and it can be noisy with cars and early morning garbage trucks.
Fresh scones with yogurt parfait for light breakfast. Complimentary fresh cookies and wine in afternoon. Coffee always on from 7AM-9PM. Comfortable reading areas. Pleasant and professional staff.

My wife and I loved this place. Breakfast is great. If you want you can socialize in the breakfast/social area. Restaurants nearby are excellent (Peppers and Maxs Grill). Walk to waterfront park to take a stroll by the ocean. Nearby to Monterey sightseeing places and not too far from Carmel.
My partner and I stayed in one of the cottages with our dog and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and informative and restaurants and stores were just a short walk away. I cant wait to visit Centrella Inn again soon!

Centralla Inn is beautiful and charming as a 100-year-old inn can be. The rooms are comfortable; the front desk is very accommodating; and their breakfast and treats are delicious! Would highly recommend a stay here!
Great stay on our honeymoon. Rooms were nice, clean and updated. Breakfast was fantastic every morning and the central location in the city made it ideal for quick drives to just about anywhere.
Everyone at the front was so nice! It is a great location and very charming. I would say- great for couples. Very intimate and homey.

What a great find! Beautiful hotel, safe area, within walking distance to beach and downtown. Staff was wonderful and the 24 hour coffee bar, cookies and breakfast were definitely appreciated. Would stay again!
Always love this place. The only complaint is that rooms at the front get the road noise from cars and trucks. We miss the waffles and frittata at breakfast.
If u want Victorian style with great hospitality this is it. Wine social hour, breakfast was nice. scones, toast, cereal, or order from menu. Quiche and potatoes made on site. coffee, orange juice, tea. Reasonably priced and romantic. Would definitely go again.

2023-11-27 23:44:07My family and I stayed at this hotel for two nights and it was a wonderful experience. The room was adorable and had a terrace that had a great view. The only thing I wish this place had more of is breakfast options. The only things they had to eat were a yogurt parfait, small cinnamon rolls, and small chocolate croissants. They were delicious though! I would totally stay here again!

2023-11-02 21:40:05Wasnt sure what to expect, so Im trying to give as detailed of a review as possible so that hopefully whoever sees it has a good idea of what theyre paying for.The rooms were smaller than expected. But if youre intending to be out the whole day it doesnt really matter.We had the room right next to the front desk, so there were a lot of voices during the day. And it was kind of uncomfortable feeling like there was less privacy because of it.The rooms were very clean and cute. The staff was all very kind.They do offer breakfast and a delicious parfait. Probably the best Ive ever had. Coffee, tea, and pastries.Water pressure isnt great if thats something thats important to you. Personally, i thought it was very soothing.Parking is first come first serve. Theres maybe four spots right out front and then about three more along the curbside.Its just a couple minutes from the beach and a really great restaurant we ate at.Overall I really enjoyed it here and I would probably stay again if it werent for being right next to the front desk.

2023-11-29 05:42:34The location was perfect!! Walking distance to many great restaurants, local stores and to the beach 2 min walk. The building itself gave a really good homie vibe, very relaxing and laid back. The staff were wonderful! Very polite and approachable. The room and all common areas were exceptionally clean and tidy. The room and the bathroom- a bit tight and you can hear someone walking in the hallway and the floor was creaking but considering its an old victorian building, its understandable and tolerable, since our room was on the 2nd floor, its a tough one also if you have big luggage cus theres no elevator, but like I said, its an old structure and thats the style of the building, so we really didnt mind at all. No A/C but theres a fan to use. Its not hot at all, when we were there its November -cold weather, I am not sure during summer time though, that could be an issue. There was a complimentary champagne at night I think its from 6pm till 8 pm, something to kick off the night before we head out for a nice dinner at one of the restaurant close by, just one block away and a very short walk, theres live music in some of the outdoor restaurant, which was very entertaining, there were cozy and classy restaurant as well, again all were just walking distance from Centrella Hotel. Their yogurt parfait was really good and some pastries for breakfast was nice. Coffee and tea always available in the lobby, which was very convenient since we love to drink coffee and tea. Very limited parking in the building and its first come, first serve only, but the street parking was really easy to find, without any meter.All in all our experience with our stay was great! Just what we needed. People on the street and by the beach were nice and smiling and greeting how do you do? Very cool, not a lot a people do that anymore nowadays. I really really enjoy the small community, amazing that how small and simple yet very beautiful place to unwind and bond with your better half. Also the food were phenomenal!! A bit pricey on some place but all worth it.

2023-09-19 06:12:45Just perfect!My new husband & I are staying here for the 1st part of our honeymoon. Some highlights:- We reserved a 2nd-floor room. The hotel called the morning of our reservation, & offered a huge room upgrade to one of the private cottages, for free!- We arrived late due to driving from Sacramento after our wedding party, & the hotel staff was very kind & accommodating, and gave us detailed instructions on how to let ourselves in to our little cottage.- The whole place is simply adorable — beautiful foliage everywhere, vintage wallpaper/furniture inside, and soft music always floating out of the main reception area.- Everything is clean & tidy, from the rooms, the adorable common area outside, & the indoor common area (complete with a roaring fireplace).- You get a text message each morning asking if you want room service — I’ve never seen that before, but it’s such an easy way to let the staff know what you want!- The complimentary breakfast is a little simple, but yummy!- Daniel specifically was a highlight. Always greeted us kindly and made us feel welcome. He also gave us a free bottle of champagne in our room bc it’s our honeymoon!- Free glass of wine every evening! (Another compliment to Daniel: our 2nd night, he remembered what wine we had the night before!)- Absolutely beautiful area, within walking distance of tons of food, shops, & even the Aquarium.Couldn’t be happier — thanks again!

2023-08-30 14:54:19Man, it was cheap, payed 100 dollars, but there is no air conditioning, so really hard to sleep. Even with the windows open, it was so hot and stuffy. It is charming because its old, but feels more like a motel 6 in quality. I feel bad giving bad review but i really wish someone warned me about it. Definitely not romantic haha. Area is nice though.

2023-04-21 03:22:53Very nice little hotel, we had the attic room which has lots of windows and a cool shower (with window!) and also one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. Breakfast is very small but homemade yogurt parfait with fruits and granola, as well as croissants are offered alongside coffee. Tasted very good. Staff is very nice, too. Overall good experience. Also worth noting: Pacific Grove is even more beautiful than Monterey so definitely recommend coming here.
