I love this place so much! I love their turons and halo halo the best! Ive never had Filipino food until I tried Chaaste Family Market. (Oh!! It really is family run!!😍)
I came to this place because I read so much about the Turon. This is a typical Filipino market with groceries and hot foods. At my first glance, most of the dishes displayed looks greasy they need to go easy on using a lot of oil on their food. I ordered a 2 item combo meal which cost $15- pork sinigang (taste bland not sour), and bistek tagalog (taste okay). I also got a small order of pansit cost almost $5 (taste good). I ordered 2 boxes of turon ($7/5pcs per box), it’s not warm anymore, a bit soggy, the banana inside the wrap is kinda mushy, Im expecting some jackfruit inside but to my dismay there’s none. For me the turon is overrated it doesn’t have any exciting factor and the pricing is a bit expensive.
The best authentic Filipino turon and all traditional Filipino foods that can make you feel home. Very nice family store and great people who make you feel welcome. Excellent!

Not that theres a lot of competition, but they serve the best halo halo and turon in Pasadena. Friendly service, and good food, but a little pricier than youll find in West Covina or Eagle Rock.Call ahead for different flavors of turon!
The turon uses overripened and soggy bananas. For the price, good bananas should be used.
I love homemade food and this place makes food as if you just sat down at a Filipino grandmas house. Loved the adobo and curry. But the highlight was the lumpia. I ate a dozen without even blinking. Amazing food ! A wonderfully family owned store and hot food establishment that has been a gem of Pasadena for over 30 years!!!
Its a nice Filipino mini grocery and fast food. They are known for their Turon (fried crispy banana roll). Food is good and the young guys working there are super friendly. Excellent customer service!
Absolutely amazing place. Family owned and operated, legit products from the islands, home made cooking to be found daily, the sausage is always amazing, lumpia(Phillipine eggrolls) are so good, for dessert the fried plantain treat is a must try. The workers are always a great vibe and the amazing kitchen staff never stops working 💪. The flan is next level, the garlic peanuts are delicious... basically cant go wrong here 🤷 parking is tough sometimes but this really is a Los Angeles gem, the ready to eat hot food is amazing and the workers have no problem explaining anything you dont know or havent tried. Love this place and the legit family of workers who service this place 👏

Just finished having lunch, and Im hooked. The family that runs it are sweet, friendly, and inviting. For someone real new to Filipino food, I was impressed. I had the Chicken Adobo, BBQ pork, rice and skewers. All fantastic and simple dishes that simply taste great. Come with a big appetite/heart and youll leave well fed and taken care of. I lived around the area so I always seen this place but yesterday was the first time I decided to try it . I had not eaten Pinoy food in a long time 🇵🇭 and The first word that comes to mind is “ Savory” . The Pork Adobo tasted so good I had to close my eyes and chew slowly, it felt like Ecstasy. You won’t regret trying the food here, and the staff is very warm and friendly . Definitely will come here again 100% ‼️

My husband and I went to this restaurant today. It was my husbands first time there. The servers(the 2 older brothers) had poor attitudes and poor manners.They also overcharged us. When we went back to the restaurant to bring that to their attention, instead of returning the overcharged money & tax, and apologizing, the server gave my husband funny look. My husband returned to talk to them regarding their attitude, the server threatened to call the police on him which is ridiculous. The youngest brother of 3 came out to talk to us and apologized. The food was also bad and cold. Will definitely not cater or come anymore. Will not recommend anyone to come either.
Those guys in there are so cool! They actually try hard to remember your name and background. Pretty amazing in making you feel good about stopping by. I had a very large catering order for pick up recently and the everything turned out perfect. My family loved the food - especially the Turon & Lumpia! Parking is never a problem at this hidden gem.

A nice Filipino grocery/turo-turo with very good Pancit Guisado. Their viands are also good. Never forget to buy turon when going here. It is the best I have ever tasted here in the States (no exaggeration).Place is clean and the brothers who tend to the store are awesome! This is a Philippino market that has good stuff in it, but if you have specific wants, make sure you call in first because they do run out of stuff as the day goes by.

I was surprised that other than the original, they also had other flavors like langka (jackfruit), ube (purple yam), and churros. So I stuck with a box each of the original, langka and ube turon. There are 5 pieces of turon in a box. While waiting for my order (they make it fresh as you order, yes you can order ahead as well), I wanted to check their hot food offerings. What we got:Lumpia (egg rolls) - 4.5 starsDinuguan (pork stew) - 4.5 starsBistek Pilipino - 4 stars, slightly salty Chicken curry - 3.5 stars goodLaing (Taro leaves in coconut milk) - 3 stars- salty Mixed veggies - 2.5 stars bland and overcooked Pancit bihon (rice noodles) - 1 star - very bland and dry. So here’s the breakdown:Langka flavor turon ($9.50 for 5 pcs) - 3.5 stars, crunchy, sweet, with lusciously ripe jackfruit but the banana is too firm (read- hard)Ube flavor turon ($9.75 for 5 pcs) - 2.5 stars, the ube was just strategically placed on one end of the turon, banana again is too firm.Original turon ($5.50 for 5 pcs) - 2.5 stars, crunchy and sweet wrap, banana is too firm.PutoFlan (steamed rice cake with flan $6) - 3 stars, flan is good, puto (rice cake) is dry and hard.They also had grocery stuff like Filipino chips and snacks. Service was friendly, parking adequate. I’d definitely come back for the egg-rolls and dinuguan, maybe the turon if they use a softer banana.

Service was really great and friendly!Inside the market, there is a cafeteria. Im usually not a fan of cafeteria kind of food, but surprisingly, I liked the food there. We had pork adobo and beef giniling with rice and pancit, they were all flavorful and tasty. Great portions with reasonable prices. And, I strongly suggest you to try out their homemade mama sans turon! They are to die for! Turon are sweet w/ brown sugar, crunchy, and very satisfying. They have several special flavors to choose from, such as the original banana filling, UBE buhbaby, cookies and cream, strawberry, custard filled, chocolate hazelnut, and churro. Make sure you ask which flavors they have for the day since they sell out quick. A must try!

The person behind the hot food counter was incredibly helpful with explaining what the dishes were and put together a combo plate for me. Even gave my wife and I a couple little samples! I’d definitely come back to try more of the hot food. Loved the BBQ chicken.

2022-04-24 00:47:36If you ever want to be the life of the party then I recommend you get the lumpia party tray for all your party gatherings. It came with sauce on the side and was hot when I came to pick it up! You do have to call ahead but trust me…the whole tray will be eaten(it’s that delicious). The owner was super nice and welcoming. You can really feel the family owned vibe here. I want to come back and try their other food options like their flavored turon!

2023-07-08 03:52:44I saw such positive reviews of this market esp the hot bar that I had to check it out, being curious about Filipino food but not having had many chances to try it. Luckily this is the perfect place for a newbie like me as the staff are incredibly welcoming and willing to explain the dishes. My plate of noodles, eggplant stewed with other veggies, and the chicken adobo were packed with flavor. Delicious. Plus the nice person who dished up my food threw in what I thought was a piece of lumpia, but when I bit into it at home, I was treated to something so crispy, caramelized, and unlike anything Ive had before. I think it must be the turon Ive been reading about. It was incredible. Five stars for the food and the friendliness of this neighborhood market.

2022-08-02 13:51:32I reached out to Chaaste Family Market because I was planning a Memorial Service for my mother up the road at Mountain View Cemetery and wanted to make sure we had some authentic Filipino food for the guests who were mostly Filipino. Abe and Gabe were both awesome and made sure I had everything I needed and more and even delivered to the venue. All the guests loved the food especially the bomb Ube Turon. I cant thank them enough.
