During my frequent visits to San Francisco, the Chaat Corner had always piqued my curiosity. Finally getting the chance to dine there, I approached it with an open mind, aware of the mixed reviews it had garnered. As a long-time aficionado of Indian chaat, I was eager to see how this place measured up to my expectations. Our group arrived with an appetite for authentic Indian street food. We ordered a variety of dishes, including samosa chaat, mango lassis, pani puri (also known as gol gappi), and pav bhaji. The samosa chaat was the star of the meal, earning a well-deserved perfect 10 rating. It hit all the right notes, balancing flavors and textures expertly. The mango lassis were a delightful respite from the spice, offering a sweet and refreshing counterbalance. They were consumed quickly and were a highlight of the meal. However, the pani puri presented a challenge. It skewed heavily towards the spicy side, overwhelming my palate and that of my group. While spice is a staple of Indian cuisine, this was a notch above our comfort level. Unfortunately, the pav bhaji was a letdown. The bhaji lacked the freshness I anticipated, tasting somewhat stale, and the bread served with it was regular sandwich bread instead of the traditional pav. This deviation from authenticity was a noticeable drawback. In terms of service, Chaat Corner performed admirably. We were seated promptly, and our orders were served quickly, a testament to the efficiency of the staff.

Decent tandoor dishes. Naan was chewy and not stale, but definitely didnt seem freshly baked. Service was good, has a traditional diner feeling.

I come to SF often for business. I try to come here whenever Im in the area and have time for a meal.I grew up in Mumbai, so I scour for vada pav in various cities. This place does it well. The pav isnt authentic, and it was served squished last time, but I dont really care. Gulab jamun was excellent too - would recommend!

I just found another hidden gem in the worlds most Iconic city, living here in San Francisco, you can find anything and everything. But there are some that are a diamond in the rough. This restaurant was amazing in all aspects, fast service, fast arrival of food, and quality is beyond 5 star. This just hits the spot! I can’t emphasize how many times I’ve driven past by this hidden restaurant, the name is sketchy cause it looks like a grocery store, then looks like a restaurant, but it’s both. All in all, I recommend anyone visiting or living here to this place, I’ll definitely be returning.

Prob least fav Indian fast food place - they got everything on the menu but almost no mastery in any type of Indian food. In summary, Jack of all trades, master of none. We tried 10+ food options but we couldn’t find a single great tasting dish.

Updated: Today I went there for a dinner with my friends and was extremely disappointed with my experience. The food was bland and lacked any real flavor. The dishes were also not properly spiced and lacked the depth of flavour that I have come to expect from (Chat Corner)Indian cuisine. The service was slow and the staff seemed disinterested in providing a good dining experience. A general feeling of neglect. I highly suggest the owner or the manager should stop playing music in the Restaurant because stuff conversation is loud enough to enjoy. Its more sounds like a concert venue than a fine-dining Indian cuisine.I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and would not return for a meal again. If youre looking for good Indian food, I would suggest finding another establishment that takes pride in its cuisine and service.

Food was good. Reducing the start for advertising-30% off for happy hour. No entries are included in that only appetizers.

Possibly the least appetizing looking saag I have ever seen. Im not sure why it has come out so brown. And the texture is mush. I have made saag many times and eaten it at other restaurants and never has it looked like this. The dal part of the combo however was really good.I saw a server drop silverware and then laugh and kick it under a table. Also servers bumped into the back of my chair many times. I know I was seated at the middle table but there were several booths open so I dont know why I couldnt just be seated in one of those.I mainly chose this place because its affordable and close to MOMA. I probably wont come back.

Very bad experience. We ordered ‘Keema Paav’. They microwave the pav where it is suppose to be toasted on tawa with butter. We sent it back and requested to bring toasted paav. Blue Tshirt guy from inside the kitchen is looking at our table soo wierd and sent the same microwaved paav again. Chicken biryani was another disaster. Lot of chaat masala (or some salted masala) flavors in Biryani and chicken curry.u
