This is a hidden gem. Didnt even know this was here until a friend took me there for lunch. From the outside, it just looks random. But when I walked in, I was impressed. Its a nice, cozy, clean restaurant and bar. We sat down right away, and we were greeted. We ordered and waited. When I food came it looked so good. We finally digged in, and I was impressed. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. It was so creamy and tasty. The plate looked small, but I couldnt finish it all. Of course, I took the leftovers home and had it for dinner. It reheated really well. Still delicious. Im going to go back for sure.

The only good food that they serve is really the burgers and even then the buns can get very very soggy and at times makes the burger a mess. Ill suggest to anyone to request the buns to be toasted if then order the burger. The fries were under cooked but they quickly replaced it. The server said the kitchen tries to work fast and get the food out quick. Which is good but you cant compromise quality. Other then that everything else is great. The atmosphere, the servers and the drinks are great.

We arrived and choose where to sit got served buy a really sweet girl and bar staff was really friendly, took our order came out within the next 10-20 minutes i order the poutine, absolutely delicious lot of flavor and portions were great got what i payed for 100% recommend coming if you see it or pass by the area.

I really like this place. Ive eaten here a few times. The prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes. Highly recommend their house made hummus! The pita chips are unique in that they are fried to serve. Crispy yet soft in the inside. I also tried the Ortega burger with a chipotle aioli. Very good but if I am giving an honest review, I ordered the burger medium and it was served well. Also I dont think the burger needed additional fat/grease and the bun looked like it was brushed with butter or fat (likely for the aesthetics but it wasnt needed). Very juicy nonetheless.

Good selection of beers on tap. Very tasty burgers and fries. Friends ordered dinner plates (grilled salmon, seafood pasta, grilled chicken skewers) and REALLY enjoyed it! Pleasantly surprised at kitchen skills here! 👌

Sorry had to give a 4 on food. Been there a few times 1st time trying there fry item. Was able to tell they used fish it had a strong odor and the food Wings and Fries. Sorry but Im allergic to fish so when you used the same Fryer for everything thats not good

I love this place. Roberto the general manager runs a wonderful business. Menu is much improved since he took over. Nachos are the best in the city. Wide selection of beer as well as good selection of whiskey. Ask Roberto about the underground menu when you go.

The beer selection alone is a talk of alot of local brews in California . Finally after much delay we have a proper establishment on the Eastside. Went there last night and will definitely be back to try all their beers and menu items. The menu displays elevated bar food not found in the AV. From wings & poutine (delicious) to pork belly sandwiches, the tap House is a legit gastropub. They have 60 beers on tap, a full bar, tons of TVs and a modern decor to bring this side of town into 21st century. The staff is really friendly, and for only being open for 5 days the operation seemed to be running smoothly. GET IN THERE AND SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS.

Stopped in for a Modelo Michelada and found a hidden gem worth tasting. American casual dining is usually far from memorable, not today folks, not today.With outdoor seating (Covid 19) available to sit down, I found myself asking the server (Lucia) to let the Chef pick my poison. Pick he did.Sautéed pepper, caramelized onions, greens, bacon, cheese, buttery bun and omg California sauce. Oozing at a medium cook and not overly seasoned, the patty only complimented the rest of the sandwich.This is the kind of burger I would gift as a wedding present to my heart healthy dieting brother. Delicious.Fries are fried and booze is booze.Service was stellar, above and beyond, and my overall experience was excellent.Come in and check them out, I was far from disappointed and will gladly be back again.

Came for the wolfmother but not so lucky. Ended up enjoying offshoot retreat hazy dipa...not bad at all. Paired it with an outstanding hungryman steak, medium and tasty. Nevermind the brussel sprouts. Its sour and forgettable. Ambiance is bar normal but inviting. Mr. J, The No.2 man himself, operates the area with precise diligence - a nod to the speakeasy era. Patrons are well-mannered, perhaps due to early hours. Good experience for me since I like my public drinking subdued as if Im at my abode. The spirits collection is decent. Saw some midshelf Piggys, Single malts and Good Ryes and bottomshelf clear liquids. Good brew selection....+3 points for bavik pils.Price point is decent.

The “no outside food” policy is terrible. Lost a regular with this policy. The food here isn’t bad at all but I mainly come here to drink. Just wanted to mix their great selection of beers with some food I had already purchased at another restaurant. I don’t get it. It’s not like I wasn’t going to spend money or causing trouble. Guess what? The 20 bucks I spent at another place will continue to NOT be spent here. I really don’t see the upside to a policy like that.

Update:. 2nd visit and they already know my name. 👍 I tried the House Burger. Was great! Jason is crazy cool, too. 👍Its very spacious. Plenty of room for big groups or you could sit solo at the bar with courteous staff. There is a huge selection of beer. I tried chicken the wings which were good. Many large screen TVs for watching sports. This is not a hole in the wall type of place. I felt safe and welcomed. Kids food menu available, as well.

I liked this place. There were some little things that bothered me, but nothing to do with the service. You can tell theyre still a new business, but I think theyll work the kinks out. I suggest to the owners to add a schedule to the front window so people know when the place is open. Also some kind of indication from the outside that the place is open. The windows are tinted, and its nice, but it keeps people from seeing the lights are on inside. A use other door ➡️ on the locked door would also be a nice addition, I pushed on that door first and it was locked. They have nice restrooms, friendly staff, lots of TVs, and alot of potential.Nice beer menu. Theres plenty of beers. Theres no prices on the beer menu, but the prices seemed fair. They also have a full bar and serve mixed drinks and liquor.We had wings, poutine fries, beer cheese burgers. Everything was very good! I would recommend any of the items. The habanero mango wings were very spicy!

I asked for the poutine to go. I ordered it with the duck and fried egg on the side. There was no gravy and there was no fried egg. Plus, the fries were overcooked. Im disappointed, and I cant believe I spent $4 extra on an add on that wasnt even included. I guess Im never coming here again. There are better places in the Antelope Valley that actually give you everything you ordered, and the food actually tastes good.

Came here with Friends for a Birthday Celebration. I ordered The Pastrami Burger cooked Medium and I was NOT disappointed! My Granddaughter ordered The Mac & Cheese, worth every bit of the $13.95 price. Only drawback, Customers were smoking, Yes We were sitting outside, but the cigarette smoke did drift to where We were sitting.

I wouldnt recommend the food because we ordered 4 different dishes but their food tasted rancid oil. My Salmon tasted really bad. I told the waitress that I didnt want it, and I returned it, but she didnt removed it from my bill.😭 Salmon was expensive and it was really bad...But the Tap Rock Band was awesome! The problem with Challenger Tap house is not the food, drinks or prices, it’s the weak restaurant manager. You instantly get the vibe the servers are in control of the show not in a positive way, and the manager himself (sorry I forget his name, a Hispanic man) isn’t.The consequences for this is the servers can get away with poor service at any given moment they want, and theirs no repercussions for it. I once waited 1 hour for my food, with just 5 tables with customers, and when I complained they complained back that I was complaining! I was suddenly treated like I was the bad guy. I asked to speak with the manager, he was essentially saying theirs nothing he can do about it, with a really weak tone of voice, and poor body language. The servers literally joke about him in front of the customers displaying a complete lack of respect for him. For knowing this fact, I cannot with good conscious recommend this place to anyone. Theirs other places in town with far better service, and good management.

Servers are great. They are always accommodating for large parties and make sure to get everyone’s order and checks out correctly. Food is decent. Stick with the simple items and drinks. The hot chicken was not very good. Nothing like you’d get in the south that’s called hot chicken. The vegan hash was tasty and same for the nacho and tater tot plates

I love challengers. First off all dont go in expecting some 5 star dinner because you will be disappointed. This is a local place that had good food and good drinks at great prices.The service is always great and the bartenders are even better. I ordered a new York sour and the bartender tried her best to make it and she got really close! The drink was great and love cing here. This is definitely a go to place for me.

The garlic bread that comes with the pasta has huge pieces of garlic on it. If you scrape off the garlic, its edible.The loaded fries were good, but not great.Also had the beer cheese burger, and that was actually the best part of the meal.

Ive eaten there two times The first time it took a little bit under 2 hours to get my food The second time I got it and maybe 20 minutes I go there the nights they have live music. Although the food started off really good at the bottom of the salad was wlited greens resembling a slug. When I told the waiter/ bar tender, (he was on his phone using a ear piece the whole time we were in the restaurant) he took our salad plates and asked if we wanted a new one .we said no thanks. We asked for the bill and he didnt even take the salads off. So I reminded him and he only removed one salad from the bill. We had waiting about 45 minutes to and hour for Brisket Nachos and a Burger that I order lettuce wrap and he was so busy on the phone that he forgot to tell the Chef no bun. The Nachos and the meat patty after removed the bun was really good but by then the service had really suck and we will never return to the tap house ever again

Did not expect to get the great service and food from this place. My friend said it was a great place to chill and have a drink with some food. Outdoor seating, spaced apart, with views of the TV for outside sports viewing.The real test was the food. The chicken wings were fried hard just like I like them and the sauce was plentiful and delicious. The server was so good and very attentive. Loved her eyebrows. Located on a very busy intersection, this place was worth the Uber trip. First timer and I hope to be back again when Im in the area.Thanks

Id heard some good things about this place but never got around to visiting until this week. Its true that the tap list is pretty expansive and they had some great options, the Youngs Double Chocolate Stout on nitro was a pleasant surprise, as was the Stone Xocoveza. However, the food was underwhelming. I ordered the Jamaican jerk wings, and expected well spiced, flavorful, dry rubbed wings, but what I got were slathered in a sweet sauce that tasted vaguely of jerk spices. The poutine with a fried egg and duck was better but nothing impressive and despite being my appetizer order, arrived well after Id finished the wings.That takes us to the service. There was only one cook, one server, and one bartender working on a Wednesday night. Our party was large but I still feel like the three of them would have struggled with keeping up with the volume of orders. Dont get me wrong, Im not complaining about the service. All three did what they could and we tipped well, but they shouldnt be in that position. Management would do well to hire more people or reduce serving capacity. Some of my party never received their orders or received them after a 90 minute wait. Thats unacceptable.I probably wont be back. But, if I do, it would probably be just for a drink.

Great food. The poutine was delicious. The twice-fried fries were very crispy. Some people in our party prefer softer fries, so it wasnt for them. The wings were great. Pork belly sandwich was very tasty. The pork belly was a bit overcooked, but all the flavors went well together.The beer selection is pretty wide ranging. Though one of the beers was not available the night we went.Fun atmosphere. They had a variety of games on. People were wearing their jerseys and cheering or jeering as appropriate.

The food is great, the beer list is pretty long and even contains some local beers, but the cocktails are the real attraction! I like to order odd drinks, and both of the individuals that make drinks are amazing. I havent said a drink they werent familiar with, and they always have amazing suggestions I have never heard of. My steak I wanted med/rare was med. My wifes Salmon was overcooked. the garlic potatoes were overwhelmed with garlic. We both didnt eat them. The grilled asparagus was a little burnt. We went there tonight, they were out of a couplel items we wanted including all ciders which my wife wantedIt was our first experience at the Tap House and it was not a good one. Also it was very loud with some drunk people. One ran into me and almost fell on his back. Definitely not a place for a couple in there 50s #notgoingback

We went yesterday and it was a really nice set up. It had a nice atmosphere and the staff was super friendly. The owner even introduced himself and welcomed us. I had the beer cheeseburger and hands down, best burger Ive ever had! We will definately be back again!

The pretzel and beer cheese is by far the best in the AV! Their wings are cooked perfectly and their sauces are so yummy. The staff is friendly. Carlos, the owner, makes sure the customers are happy and takes the time to chat with people. Will definitely go back!!

I have been to this establishment twice and both times I have had a good experience with minor issues. The first time we had a waiter who kept forgetting items we requested but food was good. The second time we tried Jasons signature drinks, ultimate old fashion(wonderful flavor and blend) and a dark Manhattan(delightfully delicious)! We also ate. I had the salmon, which came out perfect, however, my guy ordered the sirloin, Medium Rare, and they overcooked it... twice. Well done the first time and medium the second. Other then their steak timing, it was a great time and we will be back!

Inside and outside seating.Ordered a sandwich and it came, the second time, with so much sauce on it that it could not be eaten as a sandwich. The first time it came wrong.Chili cheese fries, cheese was spectacular. Chili, not so much. No real flavor, no beans. Fries were crisp and not too bad.

My boyfriend and I came here a few months back for lunch. We sat at the bar and ordered an assortment of wings and fries. The food took a while to come out seemed like there was only one cook. Wing sauce was just lacking in flavor all around and the fries were undercooked. Bartender was very hospitable seemed like he may have owned the place or heavily invested. Would not come back.

Let me start off by saying that this is a brand new establishment and it shows. All in all we were there an hour before we were served anything other than water, and itsnot like it was remotely busy. We had to ask the waitress if we could order beer, then she took my boyfriends order and never even bothered to ask if I would like a drink. I mean it is a tap house I just figured theyd offer something other than water. As for food I ordered the beer cheeseburger medium rare and it was delicious. Caramalized onions worked great with the jalapenos and cheese. The fries were the best Ive had in the AV but consistency was also lacking. My boyfriend however ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich which honestly should be renamed to a slider. The chicken breast was a joke. We brought this up to our lovely waitresses attention and her response was Yeah thats the third time we hear that complain today and then walked away. So they obviously know its a problem and have not came up with a solution, it just really seems like customer satisfaction is not a priority in this establishment which is kind of upsetting because we were really looking forward to making this part of our list of places we frequent. What a bummer. Maybe Ill try months if not years down the road once theyre not so green.

Let me tell you, the food here, absolutly delicious. I ordered the Philly Fries for an appetizer, as for my entrée I ordered a medium rare steak with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Everything was flavorful. The steak was not tough, it was very juicy. What truly made the experience is the Bartender/waiter, Jason. He is as funny as he is talented. He made a drink that my girlfriend absolutly 100% enjoyed, along with several drinks for myself, yes, SEVERAL, for the both of us. I recommend this place 100%, so much so that I am going back tonight to try more of Jasons concoctions.

Excellent appetizers, but even better drinks! I love it when a bartender can ask me what I like, and give me something far better than I expected! The restaurant was clean and tables were spaced, because we are still in a pandemic!

Outside atmosphere/location doesnt really represent the restaurant (I thought it was closed when I first arrived). It was a lot nicer than expected.I wouldnt recommend the pork belly burger. It was literally a hot mess and didnt hold well in burger form. It was more a chore than pleasure to eat itGood selection of beers. Thats probably the only reason Id ever come back

Jason is the best, he recommended my new favorite beer and also told us the pretzel would be good. He was right about both! They have happy hour so come out and try it when youre in the area. Theres a TV outside in case you are into sports. Theres plenty of seating, in case youre not haha

Love this place, aside from being walking distance away from home, its one of the only bars that makes great old fashions, and has amazing buffalo fries. The bartender Jason is also a great host when we sit at the bar and has great recommendations on mixed drinks

Challenger Tap house has the best Burgers and fries you can find, their different kinds of fries are amazing, such as Poutine, French style Poutine, Phillie fries!!! I have been going here since shortly after they opened. They have great food and great service!!

Really cool to have a spot by the house on the east side. It was nice really chill folks inside. My food was really overcooked. I didnt want to make a stink about it. Beer selection was decent lots of IPAs. I wish you guys would add some real German hefes like Pauliner. All that said Ill definitely be back. Shawn was great server.

I used to like this place after the service we seen tonight I will mostly like not go back. We had to wait for food sadly we all did not recieve our food at the same time. Waiter needed to be trainer better on how to handle customer complaints she completely ignored some of our complaint about cold food and food that never showed up. The manager who was working never addressed our issues nor did he address any one in our party. He even let the issue with my party and waitresses get worse and still did not handle it correctly.

After a long day of work, I decided to grab a drink at this local bar. Not only is the staff welcoming and friendly, but the bartender Jason is amazing at what he does. I was made an amazing drink and the food is delicious as well. Highly recommend!

Great food and environment, Their wings are better than wingstop, 12 bone in for $14.99.Burgers are great $11-15.The restroom is unique with Kegs for urinals, half a barrel for sink and a tap for a water faucet.Nice open area for outdoor dining during Covid-19 and heaters for the cold weather.

Poor server experience. Undercooked food without offering a re-fire. All visible employees from servers to bartenders do not wear masks. No table isolation or other COVID precautions. I’m all for re-opening our restaurants but safety precautions need to be taken seriously.

Went to try this place out for the first time with my friend ... so I highly NOT recommend this place .... awful food ... my grandma has a better menu list in her refrigerator ... asked for a simple drink and they did not know how to make it ... plain “MEH” establishment it has no sense of vibe in it .. I ordered a simple buffalo chicken sandwich and my chicken was hard as a rock ... so it is a no go for me ....
