An average experience. Boring location and ambience. Typical low key cheap setup and messy behind the counter.Pani puri is 10 and chole bhature is 12. How in the world does that happen. If pani puri is 10 then I would expect bhature to be 20-25 or Pani puri to be 3-5.Chole bhature comes with yogurt. That was new to me. The achar was meh. No lime or lemon. There are better options in the valley.

Visited this place at a non-rush hour and yet the service & quality of the items ordered were sub-par to say the least. We ordered samosa chaat and chole bhature. Both were served cold. The bhatura was extremely sour in taste as it was probably prepared from over fermented maida dough. The taste & quality vs prices absolutely make no sense. Even though the place was empty they rushed our order for some reason. Simply not worth your money.

We went to this place based on other comments. It was OK to say the least. We had high expectations and weren’t satisfied. Ordered samosa chaat and Raj kachori. Both of them didn’t have good taste. It felt like samosa was frozen and was just placed with chole. Didn’t have chutneys. Raj kachori was still better but we had much better at other places.

Food and service is exceptional, always enjoyed Pani puri here for last 19 years. First time tried Chole Bhature and Khasta Kachori with Aloo and it was exceptional. They modified as per our preference and my FIL who is visiting is raving to the whole family. Love it. Forgot to take pics, will do it next time. My kid also loved lassi

Good, broad vegetarian menu and tasty food. Service feels a bit distancing - lots of glass barriers and notices about cleaning up your own tables - the couple who run the place seem to dislike being out and about in the table area but at the same time, the eating area is clean, well decorated and food was delivered in a timely way. The music/visuals on the TV was an odd choice - not Bollywood videos but an odd (to me) concert of Indian and western fusion music. In summary, liked the food, but felt the atmosphere was not for me but likely to appeal to anyone who wants a genuine India experience (it reminded me of my time there).

The lady at the counter needs to just hire someone else to talk to the customers. She is probably stealing from the government as she does not mention the name of her restaurant on the receipt and does not accept any cards. The food is sub par at best and the quality has gone down hill over time. The price vs the value simply does not make any sense. This is probably the only food establishment that I have ever been to that does not offer water to the customers sitting down to have a meal. She wants to sell bottle of water for $$$. I honestly think that this business should not exist as it is causing customers genuine harm. Horrible attitude of the lady operating this business would sooner or later ensure that the place ceases to survive as a business. I wish I could give negative rating.

This is the best place in the Bay Area to have Pani Puri and other chat dishes. What stands out is their freshness in their food. Chutney taste is on par with India or even better. We have been regular visitors when they were in Dana Bazar(now New India Bazaar) in Fremont and since last several years been visiting their restaurant in Ardenwood!

I tried Pani Puri and Kachori chaat. I liked the way how they serve live pani puri but I felt the pani tasteless. The Kachori in the chaat was good but again the other ingredients were not that good. I am going to definitely revisit them and try something else as their menu has a lot of choices.

One of the best places in entire Silicon Valley for Chaats. High quality and made fresh every day. We treat this as our home food. The order I recommend would be pani puri first. Thali with veg paratha is our favorite and we have made this our second home for two decades and prior to that at Dana Bazzzar on Mowry ( now it is New India Bazzar) - It can be spicy so make sure to ask your spice levels for chaats.

You want to try out this place if you like Pani puri. The paranthas are good but a need a little more seasoning. The spice level on the chat is also very low so you need to tell them if you like your chaat spicy. I tried the dahi kachori. It was good. Also my nephew likes the palak puri. You can see almost no oil which is really good and the serve it with potato curry which is okay. The falooda drink was nice too but I guess the vermicelli added to the drink was just a little bit undercooked.

Went there to pick some food.. ordered 3 pani puri out of which 1 was mild order n other 2 were spicy but it was not good at all. Papri chaat was the best. I order the thali with paneer Sabji but she gave the thali without paneer. All the chats they provide the one chat curry. We ordered Dahi papdi chat which is worst I ever had so far in Bay Area. The just gave the raw curd which is really sour in taste and wasn’t able to eat at all. Wasted 60$ bucks on fine Saturday afternoon because of friend. He only suggested this place and realized that never go again. Sorry I guess we all need some other good place.

If you love or want to experience truly authentic flavors of Delhi/North Indian chaat in the Bay Area, look no further than Chatpat chaat corner. Family owned by two sisters, they’ve held their consistency in flavors and recipes for over 25 years. Back in the day I remember lining up at Dana bazaar for an hour to get a turn only available on weekends. Then they opened up this place and it became more convenient to get a fix of chaat on any day as long as one drives to Ardenwood. The sweet chutney, pani poori, Dahi papdi, all are to die for if you are a true officianado.Last ate there on a lazy Friday afternoon in may 2023 and the flavor remains the same as 20 -23 years before that.Reading some other reviews, why anyone would go there for anything but chaat is a mystery to me. Equally I don’t expect the experience or ambience any better then what I’m used to in the homeland. You grab a bestie, enjoy a few giggles as aunty serves you pani Poori faster then you can eat… then eat another chaat cuz you must … then have chai or Maza to put out the flames of the prior two 🔥 and then you pay and scoot. That’s what you are supposed to do at a chaat place!If you want to get yourself some sweet- spicy- hot-cold- soft- crispy combination of mouth Grenada, I promise you will not be disappointed. However If you want to hang with family / friends over a great Indian meal and wonderful ambiance, there are obviously many more options you may consider. If you are also the types to calculate best value and go for the cheapest options then I have not done that price survey either…. I’m simply a lover of chaat— the flavors the quality and I also don’t like getting sick from it next day! I have been coming to Chatpatta Corner for 15 years and I have got to say the food has gone downhill. Ordered some chaats - sevpuri, aloo tikki, dahi bhalla chat. The puris used smelled of old oil, aloo tikki were hard and tasteless and it looked like a hurried job of throwing stuff together. An absolute complete mess!!They have hiked up their prices to 10 dollars per chaat. I get that we are all suffering from inflation but charging 10 dollars for a chaat plate is very steep. Chaat is street food - it’s made with ingredients that don’t cost much. 10 dollars is clearly highway robbery.They are open for dining. Dine in if you like the storage warehouse look 😉

Cant believe that the same persons were behind the, once upon a time so popular Pani puris at Blacow and Mowry. Trinetra in El Camino Sunnyvale, is far superior and remains the best so far. Worth going there all the way from Fremont, rather than, Chat patta. I hope they take this feedback positively and work on it.

We ordered the bhel puri, samosa chaat, samosas and dahi bhada. Out of everything, the samosa chaat was good. The bhel puri didn’t have a nice crunch and I didn’t get the imli taste I wanted. The samosas were undercooked, it had a dough taste and the aloo weren’t soft. The dahi bada was watery and tasted old. My husband tossed it out and refused to try anything from our plates. I don’t see myself returning back.

Great papri chaat, Bhel Poori, chole bhature, gol gappe, and falooda ice cream. Have been coming here for years and have had a consistent experience each time. Now my kids are chaat lovers because of them! Wish they where open Monday’s too. They can pack ready to eat or ready to assemble which has been great when I’ve ordered for family gatherings. Food is amazing! Service is amazing! And best of all, the thought and care put into contactless service, safety, and health IS UNPARALLELED. We don’t even enter the resteraunt. Pickup of the food is done through their window in the front. It makes me feel so good to see how conscious they are of our safety and their own!!The taste of their chaats has been the best in the bay area since they opened. I had a thali which had three old chapati dripping of ghee. Since the chapatis were a day or two old, it was hard to tear. I complained in front of many other guest, so they reacted quickly and made two fresh rotis for me.Also they only take cash and charge a tax. You have to call in your order even if you are standing in front of the door. This is despite the large Open neon sign. It is a cash-only place and they dont tell you till you have ordered. I stood around and watched the progression of people banging on the door, calling in their orders on the phone and then driving around the corner to find an ATM so they could pick up their food. The Chaat was definitely not worth the effort. Wife didnt like it much either. Dont think I will be going back any time soon.

The Chaat itself is tasty but ...The place isnt run well.They dont wear gloves while serving paani Puri. Even in India everyone uses gloves these days.Their order management is terrible and breaks down when crowded. Chatpatta Corner is my go to spot when it comes to Chaat! We have been going for nearly 20 years or as long as the owners have had this establishment open. Over the course of time the wonderful women who run this place have taken it upon themselves to learn their returning customers preferences. Its a punch of flavor and takes you to memories right back home in India/Pakistan. Our favorites include their signature pani puri, dahi papri chaat and bhel puri. The Pani Puri is second to none, even when compared to India.Ive also always had a hard time finding good Chhole Bature and then I tried them at Chatpatta Corner and really liked them.The other plus is that you can control the level of spicy here and thats always a big plus for me because I dont enjoy the crazy level of spicy most places offer. I’m one of those Westerners who completely fell in love with chaat through the magic of pani puri. The explosion of flavors and textures through something so tiny!!I used to really favor the pani puri from Go Chaatz in Fremont, but after getting an order of pani puri at Chatpatta yesterday - at the counter - that was an experience that made them my new favorite. The chutneys were all delicious and the puris were nice and crunchy and tasted fresh. It was awesome having the counter aunty serve them up in the more traditional way, and honestly, it made me want to get another order. Only con that my friends pointed out: the pani puri pani was a little too cold; could’ve been more room temp to bring out the flavor more.Other things we got:- Khasta kachori with aloo sabzi: the aloo sabzi was delicious and was fairly luxurious with the ghee- Raj kachori: my friend who had a massive craving for this said it wasn’t a raj kachori to him... but I thought it was delicious anyway. The kachori was a little hard to break though, and the chutneys slightly too cold!

One of the best places in the Bay Area for chaat and the best for pani puri. They also have a limited meal menu (rotis, parathas, sabzi, etc.) and they are good too. Only drawback is that they prefer cash, which might be inconvenient for large groups.I noticed that an earlier post from Feb 2020 mentioned that they are closed for business for a few weeks. That is not true - I verified it with the business owner.

Great Food, no concept of customer service.The two sisters of Dana Baazar fame. Bring delicious authentic flavors with quality. They aren’t cheap which is ok. But for years I have been tolerating the lack of basic bed side manners for customers.Once I witnessed someone being pawned off someone else’s order and yelled at for that.Other instances people have complained about rancid flavors. I would usually shrug it off thinking bad experiences are part of businesses. Until it happened to me multiple times. During Covid the business is open only for take out. They take Cash only.They take a long time to prepare the food, and when you ask you get a earful about how fresh food takes time etc. to be honest I doubt that the food really prepared every time from scratch.While placing the order double check your order the, on multiple occasions a few things were missed from my original order and later I was told that I would have missed placing the order!!When collecting order please check the bags for your order because multiple times I have been handed over someone else’s bags or charged more for something. It is not easy to do that because you get to interact with the lady through a small window, she comes to you with bags prepared so it’s not like you can do anything about what she gave expect confront her, as on the phone she is will always frame it such that it is your fault.After multiple such interactions that leave a bad taste I figured the flavors are good but not that great that I keep going back to them and continue to get insulted by the ladies.I would have like to support businesses run by the elderly but sadly I cannot take the disregard the yelling anymore. One of my friend suggested this place and we went there with high expectations and were greatly disappointed. It offers pretty average food in my opinion. We ordered Raj kachori, Pani Puri and makke di roti with saag. Raj kachori was okayish, Pani Puri is much better at apna Bazar and makke di roti was below average, the saag was just hot without much taste, Chaat bhavan offers much better makke di roti with saag. The most amazing chaat place in the Bay Area. For years they’ve maintained their flavors. That’s a tough thing to do. Majority of the restaurants out there start well and then fizzle out, but not this one. Since the 90’s they’ve been working so hard to create something authentic and close to back home and they’ve kept their quality and taste the same. The pani puri, Dahi papdi chaat and bhel are my absolute favorites. The thali and sabzis are also very very yummy. The staff is friendly and you feel welcomed and at home.

I had the Paneer Thali which was sort of average. Note that this is sweetish gujarati taste, and while there were 3 pulkas, there was no salad and other curries like you get at other places. One of the best chaat places in the Bay Area hands down. I have been visiting this place for over 10 years and the Aunty has maintained the high standard for the food.Some other reviewers have complained about it being busy or cash only business. The first bit i.e. being busy is a good thing, I mean would you rather go to a place where there is only one other customer or to a place where you see at least half the tables occupied?The cash only business is a pretty common occurrence for family run chaat places, a small annoyance at most.I have always found the Aunty running the place to be very nice and courteous. Chatpatta corner is THE best Chaat place in the bay area, hands down. Ive been eating here for decades and there ingredient quality is unmatched. From a small counter operation inside a grocery store (Dana Bazaar, now new India Bazaar - where they still operate), this chaat place has come a long way but maintained the food quality and authenticity (for the most part).Great for chaats - i usually come here for the Pani Pooris which are served Indian style (fresh made, one by one, as you eat them).
