2023-11-01 18:02:36Take out only. I received the wrong order, and its pathetic. Friend won tons over crispy and minimal, chicken old. Manager was dismissive & a liar, I left. AFTER I PAID. They need the donation. For $25 that was disrespectful, I can see why its so run down.

2023-06-03 22:24:42Craving for salt and pepper pork chop. Been ordering here for years now. They have the best s&p pork chop ever! And I eat everywhere. Not only that fried rice, chowmein are one of the best too. Flavorful and balance. Ordered online for delivery it came pipping hot since they deliver personally which is amazing. Good job chef chen!

2023-06-27 23:34:27Warning …I pulled up to this restaurant I saw the chef outside, cutting his toenails. I went to the door to order my food. Another guy took my order and then the chef came from in front of the building after cutting his toes, went and grabbed a plate and my order and started making my food without washing his hands after he just finished cutting his toenails this place is disgusting. The chef is disgusting for not washing his hands.

2023-11-17 01:22:55We just came here and the food was not good at all. The food was very dry no seasoning. I won’t go back here.

2023-01-12 07:12:34I just finished shopping at the Sequoia Station Safeway when I gave Chef Chen’s a call and placed an order at 8:40pm (they close at 9:00pm). I ordered Wor Won Ton Soup and Sauteed Prawns which the man on the phone said would be ready in 10 minutes. I was maybe a mile away and got there in 4 minutes and to my surprise the order was ready! Both dishes were excellent – the vegetables were fresh and crisp and overall excellent. I go there maybe 10 times a year and have never been disappointed. Chef Chen’s is my go to Chinese restaurant in Redwood City.

2022-12-29 16:09:32This is my familys go to Chinese restaurant for the last like 7 years. They are always so nice, the food is always delicious, and they always get the order perfect. I really like this place and highly recommend!

2022-04-18 06:37:34They must of gotten new owners; the meat and fish dishes lack meat or fish now. The Mango or Papaya Beef was mostly fruit. The Walnut Chicken must of been old for them to literally add mayonnaise to top it off. I took both dishes back. I ordered combo Chow Mein that had sparse meat in it. I ordered the Seafood and veggies, but it was all veggies. I havent gone back since. My roommate and I use to go there when we wanted Chinese food since it is so close to where we live. Not anymore since ownership changed; something changed!

2018-03-10 00:36:39Ive been ordering from Chef Chens for years and the quality of the food is always good. The portions are generous too. On occasion, I try other Chinese restaurants in the area because of suggestions, reviews, or observing lines out the door, but this place always beats them; hands down. Whenever I order in and friends or family are over, they like the food so much, they ask where I ordered. Tasty, fresh and satisfying.

2020-11-12 04:00:45Ive been coming here since 2009. My go to is the honey walnut shrimp and Chinese chicken salad. Their food is better than restaurants that charge twice as much. My five-star rating is based strictly on the quality, taste and value of the food.

2020-09-04 21:12:13Im surprised this place has 4.2 stars. I had the Hunan beef, sweet & sour chicken, salt pepper prawns, and vegetable fried rice. The beef lacked salt and tasted rubbery. The chicken tasted raw/uncooked, also lacked salt, and the sauce was more sweet than sour. The prawns - I get it, I ordered salt and pepper prawns. But it tasted as if whatever salt was lacking in the other dishes, they added all in this one. The fired rice was hardly that. It just looked sad - no flavor, color, and not enough veggies or egg. Now Im sitting at home, drinking ginger ale because I have an upset stomach
