The search is over for flavorful authentic Chinese cuisine in N County because this is the best spot for this food. The Singapore noodles are outstanding, hot & sour soup was spicy without being too salty, green beans were fresh with a sweet sauce. Service was fast & friendly. Prices reasonable. Atmosphere is pseudo-dive but is offset by high-quality food. Great stuff, Chef Tang!

Was so excited to enjoy a new Kung Pao from Chef Tang’s but 2 bites in it was unbearably dry and cardboard tasteless. Then I saw the mold on the onions. No wonder both times I stopped by (at prime time @6-7pm) there wasn’t a soul in the restaurant. Something very wrong here. How do they witness mold as they’re cutting the onion then witness mold as they’re cooking the onion then SERVE the molded onion!!???!!!😂 Just Gross! Yuck!

This was my familys first time dining at this restaurant, and the experience was very nice and welcoming. The customer service was more than amazing and very friendly! The food was really good. The decor was beautiful as well. I highly recommend this place! Thank you!!

Local hidden gem. Very friendly and engaging chef/owner, sweet family. Truly authentic dishes, delicately layered rich flavors, and really fresh ingredients. Pro level preparation.But the great and personalized service and really nice and welcoming/relaxing atmosphere is what takes this place to 5 stars. I also love that they offer beer on tap, both by the glass AND the pitcher.Dan dan noodles, kung pao anything, green beans, tangerine beef, everything we’ve tried has been epic.

My favorite Chinese cuisine! I love lemon chicken soooooo much! Very crispy and inside chicken is pretty tender. Never enough! Also, the atmosphere is nicely decorated, the fortune bar looks awesome! They got new Sichuan Vegetables dish, crunchy and tasty! Amazing!

You get 4 small wontons and half a container of orange beef. You can’t see it in the picture but it’s half of the stirafoam container. The shrimp fried rice was not even stir fried as you can see the white on the rice. This is a joke!

The new kid on the block. Some dishes were done really well, others were ok. Extra spicy wasnt really spicy. The bean curd in the Buddhas feast was chewy and undercooked. Their speciality spicy congqin spicy chicken was delicious as was the Singaporean Curry noodles.The service was fast and friendly but there is not enough ventilation in the restaurant. When its busy its a cloudy mess!

Our new favorite restaurant in North County! We had the beef boiled in hot sauce, dan-dan noodles, Szechuan eggplant, and vegetable egg foo young. Everything tasted amazing and the portions were huge. What more could you want? Service was great too. Food came out fast and our server was very attentive. All in all it was a great experience. We cant wait to come back to try more dishes!

Chef Tang’s Fried Rice was not spectacular by a long shot, but it was expensive for what it was. Combination $14+? Seriously, when a shrimp is so soft that lacks texture is because it has lingered way too long without being served. Those enthusiastic praises regarding the quality of their fried rice were overhyped and absolutely misleading.Mongolian Beef, $17+? reinforced the point that the high praises lacked substance. Very sad, and past any merit. No wonder the place was empty at around 6:30 PM. Charged heavy, delivered less than desirable fare, what a waste of good 💰 3 Stars.

This is our favorite for take out Chinese food. The portions are very large and we can always get an extra meal out of one order. The staff is friendly and the food is very tasty. We have been here many times and will continue to go back. Its a good value for the money spent.

Great local spot in Vista. The food was delicious, fresh and plentiful. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We able to sample the Hard Kambucha before ordering. The food was so good, and the spicy green beans are so popular they ran out just before we ordered. We will be back soon!

Im very pleased with the food and service here. Its a nice and comfortable atmosphere with very fair prices. What set this place apart from other Chinese restaurants is their selection of noodles. All the dishes had their own distinctive flavors, nothing was too salty or too sugary like other places Ive tried around here. Meat quality on both chicken and beef were really good, nothing cheap at all. Looking forward to trying more dishes.

Always quick and extremely polite service. Nothing like the many unnamed Chinese fast food restaurants plastered all over Vista, and certainly not like any of the regular local Chinese restaurants either. They are always consistent and have clean authentic flavors, they do not fail to show they have high standards. This establishment is definitely an amazing upgrade from what Ive been accustomed to, and after many visits has become a must go to for my Chinese cravings. Thank you, Chef Tang, for being dependable.

My mom has been on a bender for about a year trying to find fresh, high -quality Chinese food near our home. Weve tried just about everywhere and she was never quite satisfied. That ended when Chef Tang opened up. The service has been top notch and the food is beyond delicious, with lots of vegetables, good quality meats, and amazing sauces. I highly recommend the Mongolian Beef in particular, and definitely will be back here many times.

Chef Tang and son Lee do a great job of running the restaurant. Some of the best Chinese food, Ive eaten in California. Ive lived in Asia and the food is very authentic, so the spicy food is spicy, but still full of favor. The Tangs also serve beer, wine and kombucha. If you like spicy the kao pao is excellent and if no spice is your bag, the egg fu young is very good. Please support these good people during there time of need, by purchasing some take out.

First time. Disappointed with the greasiness of the Ma To Chicken. Not sure if that is just standard for this dish or there was too much oil. Hardly any distinctive flavor in the food. Sauces were good, but very sweet. I recommend the spring rolls, but definitely not the Ma To Chicken.

We ate here for the first time on Friday, their food is so food and fresh, the restaurant is very clean. Their boiled beef with hot sauce it is so good, very authentic just like when I had in China. We also tried Mongolian Beef, Chicken Chow Mein and Spicy Green Bean were also good, definitely will be back.

We love Chef Tang. Drive out of the way to get take-out here. We love the orange chicken, kung pao chicken and vegetable chow mean. (No photos because we devour it so quickly!)The sweetest people work there. Always the best customer service.

The place we usually get Chinese food from in San Marcos closed down, so we decided to give Chef Tang’s a try via DoorDash. It was great, and much cheaper than our old place. The whole family loved it and the picky children actually had seconds and thirds!This will definitely be our go to place from now on!

I ordered this food to go off Postmates. Our postmates delivery guy was great but after paying $46.66 for General Tso’s Chicken, Sweet and sour chicken, chicken fried rice and a cup of wonton soup for dinner take out and then recieving a tiny bag of food with small to go boxes was pretty disappointing. I will say the food was hot but the sweet and sour chicken was soggy and bland and the General Tso’s might as well have been sweet and sour chicken. The Chicken fried rice wasn’t terrible but it had to be ordered as an extra. The entree meals come with just the main dish no rice on the side. The flavors won’t blow you away and you are definitely not getting any bang for your buck here. Buyer beware.

Order the lunch special, General zsao and was disappointed by the sauce and huge fatty chunks of chicken. I wasnt sure if I was eating General zsao or sweet and sour.The rice and egg roll were tasty and tasted fresh. Customer service would get 4 stars and the sides 5 but the chicken is barely worth a 2.Maybe it was left over or bad cuts however I will not eat there again unless I have to.

Chef Tang has the best Chinese Food I have had in San Diego County with the possible exception of the Chinese restaurant (now closed) at Horton Plaza. I have had their Szechuan eggplant and their Mongolian beef. I can recommend both of them.

Great food.. Enjoy the quality. Asked for catering, turned into a shakedown. Was not dissapoited in food quality. Was suggested chow mein with chicken, never tried before in that combination. I genuinely enjoyed it. Order rice, chicken and vegetable chow mein. Orange chicken (of course my dude) and beef with brócoli.The kicker, was dissapoited in the quantity of orange chicken, they serve half pans as thir main meat pan. Almost had a heart attack when I realized how much meat was in the containers. Not enough man, not enough.

I have a bias for loving hole in the wall restaurants, so I was a bit wary of this restaurant that looked so pintrest-y. Missing One Star because I cant find the schezuan peppercorns that make ma po tofu numby and citrusy. It hit most of the right notes but it doesnt deliver on what im looking for in ma po tofu. Most people though would rate it better.
