Great food and atmosphere.Organic options and Vegan! … hippies can go wrong at this establishment.I personally did not like the flavoring powder on the fries but they where still fresh made and organic.The service was professional and helpful but also classic snooty California service. Sorry I have been living in Arizona and got used to people talking without an affectation ;-)

5 stars ALL THE WAY! Customer service: impeccable. Food: beyond flavorful. Ambiance: natural, crisp, clean. Not only can you order regular hot meals off the menu, they also have fridges filled with all your favorite vegan sides. I felt like I was in a wonderland! I can’t even explain how mouthwatering every item we ordered was. The kids wanted to wake up early the next day to stop by before we headed out of town. If anyone is on the fence about trying vegan cuisine this would be the place to take them. It’s not vegan fast food. It’s nutritious and good for your body. 10 out of 10.

I’ve brought both plant-based and meat eaters here and they were impressed and HOOKED! They also do Thanksgiving and Holiday platters to take home for gatherings.There are 3 parts to this big location -the Deli Side to place orders for food, the center with seating, fridges full of more food and desserts, and cool products, and the left side with their soft-serve and “Haboobs” (which are similar to Dairy Queen Blend-Ins!” . The “orange julio” is amazing if you love orange and mango and chamoy. The strawberry shortcake is delish too.They had the upside down Pineapple coconut as a special last month! They actually grilled fresh pineapple for it! There are also matcha, matcha whisks and bowls, teas, and Coffee Beans from small local roasters.Pro-tip, add CRACK CHEESE to any sandwich you get, you won’t regret it. Our faves are the BLT and the Banh Mi sandwiches. The tofu is savory and perfectly marinated and tasty, unlike other places with bland tofu.Chef Tanya is mostly in house so say hello :)

I’m not vegetarian, and I love this food! It’s just good, fresh, flavorful food! The service is super friendly, inviting, and helpful. And the atmosphere is unpretentious, fun but not “loud”, and relaxing. Great spot for lunch with a friend.I had today’s special: Tempeh Tacos made with Tempeh, cashew crack cheese, avocado salsa, cilantro, and shredded cabbage on 2 soft organic corn tortillas served with a cup of pozole, with Pineapple Orange Agua Fresca to drink. Seriously delicious! 3 for 3! I don’t even LIKE pozole, and I’d have this pozole again. That’s saying something.During my next visit, I’m planning to try their ice creams. They look delicious.

She has been cooking The Valleys Best food for more than 20 years.I first met her at Native Foods on El Paseo, and have followed her ever since.Weather you are vegetarian or not, you will absolutely love her food, everything is delicious, healthy and plant based.Today I went to Chef Tanyas Kitchen in Palm Desert and I was so happy to see her, personally, fast moving, training staff and taking care of orders herself.Come to eat her food and check out a great variety of already made food to go as well as condiments and awesome gift ideas.

What a great place to visit and enjoy the experience. Parking is free and close to the location. The food is fresh and made when ordered. All items on the menu are plant based and taste great. The restaurant has thought of various condiments to please your tastebuds for each selection.They have a Kreamistry inside that has soft serve along with various toppings to make them enjoyable for all ages.I was there when Chef Tanya was visiting the site. She was very pleasant and I was able to compliment her on the location. I’m amazed by how full service the entire place is and just has a very organic feel to it. From the furniture, the merchandise sold, the lighting, the people that work there and the food, the place is an experience to be savored.Eat more plants!

Love this place! Out of everything I’ve had the tempeh burger has been best. The watermelon juice is incredible. Nice to support a business that clearly puts effort into their atmosphere and their food without being “fancy”. This can be hard to find in the desert. Love that they’re open for dinner too as a lot of these types of spots closer earlier.

Chef Tanya’s kitchen is a great place to eat especially if you’re a vegetarian. I am not a vegetarian, and I really enjoyed the food as well. There’s so many different varieties of food, takeout sandwiches, and even a little coffee bar. There are some seats at the front to sit on if it’s a nice day and plenty of room inside as well. I really recommend chef Tanyas kitchen such a great local business. They do not take cash at all… just fyi

What an amazing find. We discovered Chef Tanyas after a quick search when our other plans fell through - and in hindsight, so glad they did. Dont let the informal nature fool you - thus is some of the tastiest food we have had in a while...tastes too good to be vegan. Dont skip on the desserts - they are eqylually good. The quality of the food was matched by the service - Nate have us outstanding advice in navigating the menu for the first time - a d he brings a great PNW vibe. He introduced us to Allison behind the dessert counter who was equally nice and help bring the bight to a sweet close!

I got Chef Tanyas modern hippie sandwich on a whim one day and it has quickly become my favorite sandwiches I have ever had! I am not vegetarian or vegan, and normally I like to have some sort of protein on sandwiches but this is so filling and fresh that I dont miss the meat! Not to mention the crack cheese is the best cheese alterative I have ever eaten. I would honestly put it on everything!

Intended to try Chef Tanyas the last time I was out in Palm Springs. So I was very happy to see they have a newer location in Palm Desert which was not too far off from where I was staying for the labor day weekend.Such a great spot for vegan food, so I can definitely see what all the hype is about.ITEMS ORDERED:Modern Hippie Veggie (added seitan)TASTE:First off, if you just browse through a few Yelp photos youll see this sandwich looking very aesthetically pleasing & mine turned out just like that.This sandwich is not just looks though since it also tastes good as well as gets great marks for texture. It comes with crack cheese, avocado, gomasio (sesame sea salt), tomato, jicama, shredded carrot, cucumber, purple pickled cabbage, beautiful lettuce, mayo on country levain bread. I added seitan to make it more meaty.Theres definitely lots of ingredients in this sandwich but everything actually works out so well resulting in a fantastic sandwich. All the veggies were very fresh, & crisp which makes the sandwich kinda refreshing. Flavor wise, the crack cheese has a tart flavor that somewhat comes off as hummus. Sweetness from the carrots, light pickling of the cabbage, meatiness of the seitan & nutty flavor from the gomasio all somehow works together pretty much perfectly for a great bite. Id eat this sandwich several times a week & feel good about it. The atmosphere and vibe is always chill and the workers are always super friendly and helpful. My go to is the Guadalajara Burger. I like to add an extra patty for the protein😋. The first taste is a sweet glaze from the sauté onions, then a little chipotle mayo action with a guacamole finish. I’m a traveler going from the Bay Area to Texas for work and I stopped on by with my wife for a little stop. The place is really just ridiculously good and it has no right to be this fire. Food is amazing, all the fun little commodities and cold food items being sold around the shop are awesome, the dairy products and bakery is incredible, and the service is ace. Seriously the best place I’ve seen here and I’ll definitely plan to drop by every time I come through Palm Springs again.

Perfect place to pick up a healthy picnic lunch and head to the Living Desert Zoo & Gardens! Saving the animals, eating only plants: it’s a great pairing! Great restaurant, awesome atmosphere and great customer service. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I personally love the Chupacabra Chik’n, Pastrami Mami and BLTA for the Sandwiches. With the burgers you can’t go wrong with any of them and definitely treat yo self to the chili cheese fries.Everything here is always so flavorful and filling. I personally am a regular here because it’s one of the few good vegan places in the Coachella Valley and SoCal overall. It’s like a vegan wonderland and a must-try experience when visiting the area.

I was very disappointed I used to go to Tonyas in Palm Desert all the time, and it was fabulous off El Paseo. This was so over priced for nothing. I wanted to relax and have some good food all her retail is all over the place where you eat in an uncomfortable seats. I was shocked I left hungry and I don’t eat a lot. My husband and I met a friend here for lunch upon her recommendation. We aren’t vegan or vegetarian, but we still very much enjoyed our meal. We both got the “pastrami mami” Reuben sandwich. The vegan meat was mild, but the sauerkraut and sauce were flavorful and very tasty. We didn’t miss meat at all. We also ordered their guru spicy chai hot beverage. Delicious. The restaurant also has food for purchase and take away, as well as a nice assortment of interesting gift-type items. I picked up a couple of notecards. I’d definitely go there again.

Ive eaten at Tanyas 4 times and have had the Tasty Thai Tofu Salad, Gordo Chili, Mini Greens Salad, and the Guadalajara tempeh burger. All are AWESOME.The salad is delicious, but made for looks as much for flavor - I had to cut veggies in order to not look cretinous eating it. The 2nd time I ordered the salad I requested it be prepared with bite-sized pieces and they accommodated me perfectly.The Crack Cheese in the chili is just superb.I cannot recommend CTK enough. 💚💚💚

Got the signature salad which was good but the ingredients were kind of skimpy and it was kind of a small portion for the price. I went ahead and tried to pay with cash and the clerk advised cash was not being accepted because of the pandemic, even though the pandemic is been gone awhile ago. I asked what if a homeless was hungry and needed to pay with cash or someone didn’t have a debit or cc? Basically I was told the management policy is “too bad”. Zero inclusion, paradoxically they had pamphlets to contribute to save the elephants.

Usually great food and service, but I went in last week and had a different experience. Order 2 cups of chili and 2 cornbreads, just a light meal and a drink. Chili comes out luke warm, no cornbread, says it will be right out. 7 minutes later I go looking for cornbread, they say its still in the oven, we dont use microwaves but it will be right out. 5 minutes more I go looking for someone, no one at the register, 4 customers waiting. Go to bakery side, see the gal that took my order and tell I want to just pay for my drink and leave. She says I should do it at the other register, tell her no one is there. On the way over, she lectures me to tell them if I want my chili super hot, I explain I just wanted it normal and my cornbread in a reasonable time. She says she refunds me, but only gives me a receipt for the drink. I check today, they did refund the food, but she kept the tip! Im done....March 23rd, mid afternoon.

Found this place during a visit to Palm Desert. This place was so great that my wife and I came back the next day! Love the food, love the store, love the Kreamery (I absolutely recommend the strawberry shortcake haboob)! The tempeh Power Burgers are fantastic (my wife and I both had the Caprese, which I highly recommend)! The second day my wife had the BLTA and I had the Pastrami Mami (thinly sliced pastrami with sauerkraut - fantastic!). I also recommend the Agua Fresca - water with fruit essences - a mix of different flavors each day. We got dessert from the Kreamery the next day as well - my wife got the Crystal Blue Persuasion haboob (which looked good) and I got the Orange Julio haboob (never had chamoy before - and incredible mix of salty, sweet, bitter, and spicy). We also bought two sets of wooden cutlery to use in place of plastic cutlery popular in fast food places we may visit in the future. A great experience!

As everyone says, this spot is a gem. Delicious healthy food that’s perfect on a hot day. The flavors are vibrant and interesting. No blah food here. The modern hippie is perfect for when you just want pure veggie goodness, and the Thai tofu salad was delicious as well. Aguas frescas rotate daily, but I haven’t had a bad one yet! We’ve picked up a few goodies at the in store shop as well.The vegan soft serve in the attached kreamery was surprisingly good! I’m normally wary of alt dairy, but this was great, both on its own, and mixed up in a haboob. We‘ve gotten the matcha mochi, and ordered some strawberries on the side.

They’ve been open for less than a week and we’ve already been 3 times. The Cuban and pastrami sandwiches are both delicious and filling. Vegan chocolate cake is another win. Good selection of fresh juices, to go sandwiches/snacks as well as some unique vegan grocery items. A few tables and chairs are available outside in the shaded store front for dining there. Thank you SO much for bringing vegan food to Palm Desert.

What a delightfully delicious surprise this place is! The Guadalajara is an adventure of a burger as every bite becomes a tasty party. The chili cheese fries ARE EXCELLENT and the costumer service is very friendly. We had allergy accommodations that make us feel understood and welcomed. Hard to sum up all the Amazing things about this place! The food is *transcendent*, the staff is engaged and friendly, and there are all all these little extra kindnesses, like a free refill on the daily agua fresca flavor. We visited twice in a short trip, tried a lot of things -everything was so fresh and delicious- but my fav is the banh mi with those addictive fries.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing! We were in Palm desert this past weekend, and we went here twice! Phenomenal vibes and great music playlist. The employees were extremely warm and welcoming. We ordered food to eat at the restaurant, and the food was brought out very fast. Super impressive for a restaurant with complex menu items. We had a large group of people and ordered tons of items. All of them were fantastic, but our favorites were the pastrami mami, taco salad, chili crack burger, BLTA, chupacabra chicken sandwich, Coachella salad, and of course the French fries. The pesto ranch dip was the BEST sauce for the fries. Lastly, we loved the little shop in the restaurant. It had tons of great foods and fun vegan friendly pins. Very affirming restaurant and shop. We’ll definitely be back whenever we’re in Palm Desert/Springs! Love this place!!

The Banh Mi sandwich was delicious 😋 It was perfectly seasoned and had a lot of veggies with spicy jalapeños which gave it a very tasty kick. I also had a drink made with mango, orange and basil that was delicious. (I dont understand why would anybody have to use meat in this kind of sandwich, not necessary, at all).Service was friendly and quick. I will certainly go back

Egads! These recipes dnot do Chef Tanya any favor. I have a 7 year old granddaughter in vegan training and it was a no go for the Mac n’ Cheese. Someone made it with vanilla plant milk. Awful. We always come to this cafe when in the desert, but no more. Hippie Sandwich was just okay, and grandpa (an aficionado of the old Native Foods) gave his handheld a thumbs down, Chimichangas something or other.

Food was good. They need to actually pay attention to the to go orders. As in making sure the napkins and utensils are in the bag before they hand it to you. (Not the first time) I tip for to go orders. This means I have expectations. It seems they may need to be reminded they get paid to be in the customer service industry. Ive eaten at Chef Tanyas approximately 4 times in total. Super scrumptious and amazing recipes. Always look forward to it...Not 5 stars because twice I have ordered online and twice I have had to wait for them to realize they even had an online order once I got there at the designated pick up time.Yesterday, this cut my lunch time in half and I had to rush back to work. The two incidents are months apart so I was hoping they would have figured out how to deal with what is apparently a known/ongoing issue. Noone even seemed to care or acknowledge this inconvenience.Tldr; the food is good just advise to call and make sure your online order went through so it can actually be ready when you show up.

I was disappointed with the BLTA sandwich to be honest. I expected better flavor and texture from the tofu bacon because it’s a vegan restaurant. It was also slathered in mayo and made my stomach upset. The french fries were great though.

Came here to enjoy some good food to find out they dont accept cash as a form of payment? Yet they accept cash tips, with a big glass tip jar in front of the register. Ridiculous. I feel bad for the staff.In response to your reply, so you are saying youre just too lazy to work for the cash? 10% of your revenue is probably enough to pay a whole other part time employee to help with that. I was in this restaurant on my trip to the USA and since I live vegan and it has good reviews, I went there. I asked for a suggestion. I chose a burger with French fries, which was a big mistake. This was by far the nastiest burger in 10 years of veganism. More onions than anything else, a flop in terms of taste, impossible to eat normally, it kept falling apart. The French fries were ok but too expensive. The staff were friendly. I would have expected more.
