The food was impressive. The portion was very large with reasonable price. The broth was good, and the ingredients inside were a lot. The vegetables provided were a lot too! The service was good too.

I value service higher always. The man who greeted me was super friendly. First time here so so asked for more time. He responded “Take your time”. He was patient and so nice. Decided on Vermicelli. Loved how light the meal was. Not dense and heavy. I really enjoyed the food and the great service. Thank you!

Love this spot for a relaxed meal. Staff is super friendly and helpful - they will answer any questions you may have about the food items and suggest items if you want to try something new. The pho is delicious, but try the chefs curry! You cant go wrong with any of the Spring rolls and though it is isnt on the menu you can get a half order of the egg rolls (3pcs).

The food is solid, and the service is fantastic. The restaurant itself could use some maintenance with cracked both seating everywhere, and a generally dated appearance. Parking can be rough but theres always something available if youre willing to walk a bit.

What a fantastic find! I Stopped in for a quick bite while I was early for my Kaiser appointment. Had a great beef pho, But will definitely come back here when Im in the area. The interior is much nicer than you might think by looking at the outside. They serve beer and wine and have a quaint little dining area. The service was fantastic and I definitely recommend this dish!

When we come see our son at the localcollege, we always eat pho here. It is sooo delicious and full of flavor! We order the protein rolls also. We are always satisfied when we come here! My only downfall is that they are not dog friendly. I wish they were.

Being North County foodies, we have no idea how we missed this place the whole time they have been open! We stopped in for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised at how spacious the restaurant is and the beautiful ambiance and modern decor. The customer service was wonderful from the moment we entered until we left. Great customer service is becoming harder and harder to find so we really appreciate when we feel appreciated as restaurant patrons. The food was EXCELLENT and we cant wait to come back and try more from their vast menu. I had the Chefs Udon Soup and my husband had the Vermicelli with Grilled Shrimp -- both VERY delicious. We also split a Banh Xeo (Vietnamese crepe) and loved it!!! This is the type of restaurant that makes the San Marcos food scene a notch above the rest.

Chef’s Pho and Grill has been my go to place for the last year when my partner gets wings and things. I typically get a rice plate, spring rolls, and of course a Thai tea. Well today I ordered the fried rice which tasted ok but ended up being a huge mistake when half way through I found a 5” black hair. It’s upsetting because it’s of course above and beyond disgusting but now I don’t know where I’ll go on Wing nights and also because it could very easily be avoided if they would just wear HAIRNETS! Literally so simple… well I of course called them, they apologized and gave me a full refund and promised it will never happen again. I personally will never go to this establishment again after this. But I’ll let whoever is reading this decide on their own.

Got the chef pho (item 1) and the pho was good. The broth is flavorful and the meat portions were good. Given the price, it was of good value and justifies future visit for pho.The Thai iced tea was not bad either. A little on the sweet side, but it gets the job done.

Google has Chefs Pho as a one $. I would say its more like $$ bordering on $$$. Having said that, it is a classy resturant, great to take a date. Quality food in a trendy and classy environment.I love Vietnamese food, been to Vietnam and have a buddy who owns a Vietnamese resturant.. Chefs Pho is legit, maybe too legit?? I was happy to order the Chef Special Spicy soup (Bun Bo Hue?) North Vietnamese Pho with a beef broth and more spices than traditional Pho. It was full of goodies (cooked pigs blood, sliced chicken meatballs, intestine, pork belly?, serloin, others?) it also came with a side sauce made from innards? I adjusted a couple of the options to my taste, added lots of Jalapeños and condiments from the table, all super clean and tasty, to create the perfect broth. It was excellent, it was real, Im sad to say it may be too real for American tastes.The Banh Mi was perfect, we ordered the grilled pork. Bread was excellent, slight crunch on the outside, soft inside.Grilled meat and rice dishes were all great. Dipping sauce needed a little more ricevinigar and sugar. Shrimp came peeled and easy to eat, we appreciated that.The owner is on-site, working hard to train staff and make everything perfect. Nice to see and I hope his hard work pay off.Resturant and condiments are kept very clean. All parking spots in front of restaurant are handicapped? You will need to park off to the side a little.Opens at 10am!!! I love that, sleep in or workout, skip breakfast and eat an early lunch before hitting the beach or pool.

The raw steak is thicker than most places but the flavor was delicious. I got the chef’s combo large and I really appreciate how much noodles were in there! I actually couldn’t finish it.. I also appreciate how quickly my order came out.. less than five minutes after ordering. Every meat had flavor which is not always the case. I also wanted to order chicken wings but they were out.. and I like to enjoy my pho with calamari but that wasn’t on the menu.. actually the menu didn’t have as many options as you would expect. Hopefully they add more soon. Anyways the service was very good and the restaurant was very clean and provided hand sanitizer at the entrance. I saw a man as his wife watching the football game in the corner table which tells me they really go above and beyond. Over all a great experience!

Nice restaurant across the street from Cal State San Marcos. Its clean and staff is friendly. My son and I had the Chefs special Pho. There was nothing special about it. To many Noddles not enough meat or broth. The meat I did get had a lot of fat on it. I asked for more broth and they said it would be $2 more dollars. Even though its across the street from CSUSM they dont give student discounts and the Pho is overpriced at $10 for a large bowl.

Nothing out of the ordinary. Good for a quick and fulfilling lunch, stick with pho or Vietnamese sandwiches. Their special dishes are just ok and you may be disappointed if expecting a special flavor. They do have fresh items and good service. But they push to sell appetizers.

I will NEVER eat here again! I paid my bill and added the tip and when I look at the online receipt the next day that went to my phone they changed the tip!! That’s called stealing! I called them about this and the guy Steven said they don’t know why that happened and they don’t see the tip and no one changed it…something wasn’t right and didn’t make sense. He said come in and I can give you the difference but why are they changing the tip in the 1st place?! I don’t live close to this place so I talked to my bank about this before hand and they said I can report this and I did.

I hate to be that person or maybe it was just super busy the day (11-29-18) I went but horrible first time experience. (Service)1. Took 20 minutes to sit, then an additional 30 for our ( gf and I ) food to arrive2. When then good got their it was wrong order so we had to wait another 10 minutes for the food3. Had to ask for utensils because they were not provideAnd lastly had asked for napkins 3 times until I got up the 4th time and personally stood there so they would notice me.Also I found plastic debris in my soup.(Picture below)*If your feeling like date night or having some Pho on a nice rainy day like we did today.*Save yourself the trouble & go else where*

It pains me to say this because I was hoping this place could be a good option in the future. Ordered the large pho chicken noodle. Everything was as expected EXCEPT the actual Pho. It was as if it was watered down. It was almost clear and tasted like water & plastic. Plastic could be from the container it was packed in. But the water aspect is unacceptable. The food here is amazing! My wife is vegetarian and I am definitely not one. We both found great things to eat. We are from out of town but will make the trip again just to come here. We have eaten here several times now and the food is astounding. We have had the Vermicelli bowls, the Pho, the rice plates and every thing they offer that is grilled. All of it has been excellent, very flavorful and savory. We stick with chicken, beef and shrimp since neither one of us care for some of the more adventurous choices available. We have experienced top-notch service in each of our visits with servers who are attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly. It has a family feel for us and we appreciate the convenience and quality as the restaurant is very near our home. I highly recommend the place and hope that all of you have as good an experience as we have had each time we have been there.

First of all, I never do reviews. But this time it felt necessary. This place is horrible, from the service to the food. I got there and I waited for more than five minutes to be greeted then instead of helping me when I was the first person, they helped the girls that walked behind me. Then I clearly told them I was there first and she just ignored it. Then we waited for more than 20 minutes, and the only reason they sat us is because I went up to ask how much longer, when they tell me that they were about to seat the next people because I was waiting outside which I asked if it was okay and they had say yes. So outside the fact that they had me waiting all that time, they were gonna skip me. Then instead of walking us to the table as in every sit down place, they just pointed at the table and told me to sit. We finally place our order, two plates and an appetizer. Well they brought out one plate first, after about 10 min they brought the appetizers. We kept on waiting for the second plate and nothing was coming so I asked about it and it turned out they had forgotten about it. By this time I was done eating my plate and we didn’t want the second plate anymore. So we canceled the order. Outside of that they never brought us water so I had to ask for it too. Then we spilled a sauce on the table and one of the servers sees it, instead of coming and cleaning it for us, she just brings more napkins so we clean it. To top it off, the food was not even good, the serving size was small and the prices were more expensive than other pho places. It was overall a horrible experience, the employees were very rude which makes everything that happen 100 times worse.

SO disappointed. We have been coming to pho here (Twin Oaks in San Marcos) since they first opened. We usually always order the same thing which is the beef pho but decided to switch it up and ordered the sea food pho. It literally tasted like pee. So we kindly asked the waitress if we could get something else and apologized. We explained we were not expecting it to taste the way it did. She said she would have to get the owner...so the owner came out and kept asking us what we didn’t like about it and “what our problem” was. SUPER AWKWARD! We just said the same thing we told the waitress. I apologized and asked if we could just get something else.I wanted to leave after his attitude but decided to stay because my daughter was still eating her food. I figured he would not charge us for the dishes we didn’t eat...but when we got the tab, the two seafood pho’s were still on the receipt. We asked the waitress if we could have it removed as we only took a bite and had explained the issue to the owner already..it was horrible....but she said he had told her we had to pay for it regardless! HORRIBLE service and they have gone down hill since covid. The beef pho was way over cooked. Sadly after years of coming here, we won’t be back.

For a 4 star place, there is lots of recent mixed reviews. However, cant knock it till you try it yourself and recently decided to give it a shot. Quickly greeted and seated. The restaurant is fairly new with that gastropub ambiance feel. Service was slow but friendly and was thinking that the food could make me forget that. However, the food quality here is poor. Egg rolls came out cold and springs rolls were super chewy. As for the pho, the broth had a savory-sweet taste for my pallet. Not my fave but was decent. What turned me off about the pho was the temperature of the broth. Usually the broth from most Vietnamese restaurants comes out piping hot (how i like) but my share was served on the warm, not hot, warm side. First time experience didnt go so well. Will give it another shot just because its the closest from home and hopefully their service will pickup and the food quality will up to par.

Im no Pho expert but from the few places Ive been to this is one of the better, food came out in a timely manner and in order as well which was nice. The location is a nice and clean. The only negative which wasnt bad at all, was sometimes the kitchen staff yell across the back and it disrupts the setting. All in all a good place to sit and relax for a nice clean meal.

Super disappointing. It was my first time here on 11/29 & had the worst experience with my boyfriend. We waited super long to get seated, even longer for our pho to come out, I had to ask multiple times for napkins, and my boyfriend found plastic debris in his soup. Service was the worst I’ve experienced & I felt super uncomfortable hearing flustered guests also complaining about the service & wait time. I’m assuming it was busy because it was a rainy day, but this visit was enough for me to never come here again & to never give people referrals to this restaurant.

I am disappointed, I ordered a chicken pho soup and I had to remove a lot of the chicken, it very pink from blood and still had bones, I also ordered spring rolls and they were extremely sticky, stuck on my tooth, I stopped eating. I didnt like that they added ice to their Thai tea, most places Ive been too, never do, it was hard to get any of the boba, they add more of that than anything. They charge almost $10 for a bowl, other places charge $7-8, I thought it was a little expensive and will not go back. The ingredients seemed old and cheap, they didnt even add a lemon. Im sorry maybe there is other meals they have that taste better but I do not recommend chicken soup or spring rolls

The rare beef pho was really tasty, the staff are very nice; however, I came in because last time I was in they had Wi-Fi available. This time when I asked no one knew what the code was and said the owner changed it. Come to find out, the owner was in the restaurant the whole time and someone could have asked him for it. I really like the deep and rich tastiness of their Pho. Ive also had the Bahn Mi sandwiches (I especially like the BBQ pork one) and they are awesome as well. I am so glad Jackie opened this amazing Phó place so close to my house! Everyone is so friendly (like family) and the food is Phónominal and Unphógettable! They make my favorite soup that my mom make, banh canh, rarely found at Vietnamese restaurant. Seems like they are still working out the kitchen as food moves a bit slower than most pho noodles houses we are accustomed to. Be patient! Its well worth it.
