Every dish is spicy in its own way, fresh ingredients with great taste. Still using disposable silverware, probably a result of the pandemic. Service and decor lower than average for a Michelin guide restaurant.

You’ll find all the classic Sichuan specialties here, tasting like you’ve been transported to Chengdu. Bold and authentic flavors, they don’t skimp in the Sichuan pepper. Favorites were the Ji Si Liang Mian (shredded chicken with cold noodles) and Suan Cai Yu (pickled vegetables with fish). They’re still serving with plastic containers though as a covid precaution I’m assuming. Also love the ambience inside and they have these big private dining rooms. Highly recommend

Authentic Chinese Restaurant with a Great Atmosphere. From the humble exterior, I didnt expect it to be a well furnished space inside. It seems like Im entering a historical Chinese building. There are several areas that you can seat. There are private rooms for dinners with special guests.I was surprised by the brochure that gives a historical glimpse of Chengdu. This is a great cultural touch.The food is great. The price is a bit on the high side. I ordered tea and they provided a very high quality tea thats meant to be enjoyed slowly. Service was a bit slow on the day we went, but it isnt something to complain about,

Loved the food and the place overall. Would have given 5 stars if our shrimp dish wasnt tasting not so fresh. But all the other dishes we had were great. The mapo tofu was nicely numbing. The fish (soup?) dish was amazing. Really enjoy the decor there.

Got the 老妈抄手 and 酸菜鱼 and they were both wonderful. The mapo tofu was only OK especially considering the price. We of course also got the panda tangyuan which is definitely overpriced but SO CUTE. Overall Id recommend this place for really delicious Sichuan food.

Good taste on art works, otherwise a total mismanaged beautiful modern restaurant. Construction at 7pm right next/above the dinning room; 45min wait for appetizers( only three tables in dinning room); not even trying presentation (sauces are all over the plate). Overpriced for what it is ($110 for four regular entrees ). Food taste just all right, nothing to write home about. I was really looking forward to this place but end up with a huge disappointment.

Excellent Sichuan cuisine. The sole filet with pickled vegetables is amazing. The flavors, aromas and heat are deliciously layered, and demonstrate that Sichuan food isn’t just about face-melting spiciness. The marinated shishito peppers aren’t pretty, but are tasty. The Ma Po Tofu was really good; it didn’t blow my mind like the sole, but I couldn’t stop eating it.Chengdu Impression is my new favorite restaurant in Arcadia.

I have to say this is a very very authentic chengdu cuisine restaurant in Los Angeles. Loved the service and the dining environment is set to be slightly upscale and artsy. The interior environment is minimalist and almost looks like an art gallery w modern Chinese artist pieces displayed around the restaurant. Keep up the good work. For those use to Cantonese food and less authentic versions of szechuan cuisine you may not like this very oily, and heavily spiced cuisine. I tried the beef soup with noodles ($12)and the spicy won tons ($6 for 4 won tons). Very heavy on use of chili oil in both cases. Both served at a temperature that is so hot you will need to wait 15 minutes to eat them. At that temperature it is difficult to taste the heavy use of spices but when it cools down the use of spices tastes heavy handed. Maybe if I was from this part of China I would like it, but it is not for me. Service and decor were fine. Parking on street at lunch was easy and free. More free parking behind the building. Honestly if I were rating only the food I would have given it 2 stars.

Terrible atmosphere and service. We sat down and left almost immediately. We didnt eat or order. The hostess treated us like a bother, the staff was either lost or nasty. We felt very uncomfortable. Definitely wont ever spend my money here.

We used to love this restaurant so much, but there must be a change of management or they ran out of money due to pandemic, everything about this place has changed. When you ask the server why they serve in plastic cups, plates and bowls for our eating utensils, he just shrugged his shoulders and walked away. We stood up and left at first but the manager decided to give us proper plates so we stayed. The female waitress was so much nicer and give good service, so I give an extra star for her. The most popular braised pork belly and the cold noodle in hot oil are no longer in the menu, that was really why I brought my friends there for. And then the food prices ain’t cheap, and the environment looks so modern and well decorated, so why serve in plastic (not environmentally friendly at all). They probably can do better with placement and service by the male waiter. Train him, boss! Thank god the food still taste authentic! Still has the Sichuan flavor. I would give five stars but the plastic table placement, our favorite food no longer on the menu, and the shoulder shrugging waiter lost two stars.

The restaurant is located in the prime location of Arcadia, very modernized and well decorated but the poor management and poor service will make me not to come back ever. Found 2 small stones from food no apology from anyone nor manager showed up. Server threw food on the table without explaining what it is. Received check and the credit card merchant copy upside down (really?) Food price is way more than any other similar style restaurant. They serve you with plastic cup, plate and utensils but they charge $30-40 per plate. The quality is not even close to the food price. They didnt play any music so I could hear every single words from next table. I left $0 tip and someone ran outside after me asking for tip. They clearly dont know whats wrong with them.-5/5 service, 2/5 food, vibe -1/5 I dont understand why Google dont have - star system

Literally turned away. The restaurant was open since 11:30 and we arrived at noon. The hostess was with her child and was wearing a sweatpant matching set and looked to be more like a customer. We asked if we could get a table and she asked if we had a reservation which we did not so she said “come back in 30 minutes and ask again we’re not open yet” we’re her exact words.So we’re just waiting outside then we see people walking out as they must have been seated and we’re bring their to go boxes out with them so we went back in (about a half hour later) to ask for our table now that we know they’re open and she said “we’ll it will be another 30 minutes”. We saw plenty of tables and the restaurant did not look busy at all. We just left and said we’re never coming back again. Such a shame because the food is excellent but if you can’t even get past the terrible hostess then why even bother.

The service here is impeccable. The food however, not as great. Its decent food, but it doesnt pack as much flavor as restaurants like Chengdu Taste. That being said, the sole in pickle broth is excellent, so if youre coming here, get it.

This is a beautiful restaurant with great food and excellent service. The food preparation and seasoning is authentic, which is due to the restaurants roots in Chengdu, but it is also carefully prepared and nicely presented.We ordered the Chengdu Dan Dan Mian which was especially tasty because the seasoning was so well balanced. We also ordered the Ma Po Tofu because it is one of the signature dishes. It was rich tasting and nicely spicy with the Szechuan pepper providing the tongue tingling.The service was superior to most any other Chinese restaurant in the area, with the manager checking in with us at the end of the meal to see how we liked the food.This restaurant is excellent in every respect.

Fine dining Szechuan cuisine in clean, modern surroundings with a bilingual staff, I really enjoyed my tasting menu dinner here back in April 2017. Of the items I tried, Id say the pork belly dish has room for improvement-- instead of importing pork from Europe, they should consider using fresh premium pork from the US such as Niman Ranch pork from Northern California. I was part of a group of 8, many had tried the pork belly dish elsewhere and we were all in agreement the pork dish was missing the melt in your mouth quality.Still, Id consider going back to try lunch and the afternoon tea. Ill go back for the dinner tasting in a year to see if the pork belly is any better than before.

As a person who grew up in Chengdu, this restaurant does not meet the most basic standards of Sichuan cuisine. We ordered spicy chicken, fish with pickled cabbage, Lao Ma Chao Shou, and garlic Shanghai Qing, which are basically the most classic colors of Sichuan cuisine. The seasoning of Lao Ma Chao Shou is ok but not spicy enough. The pickled fish is very ordinary, like the taste of supermarket seasoning packs. The spicy chicken is the most disappointing. The fried chicken is over burnt, and the burnt bitterness even covers up the taste of chili and peppercorns. Garlic Chengdu Shanghai Qing normal level. The service is also very average. There were not many people in the store when we went, but no one served the water when we sat down, and no one came to ask if we want to order food, so we had to ask the waiter all the time. This level is definitely not the taste of Chengdu in my impression.As a Person Who Grew up in chengdu, this is definitely not the taste in my impression. We order szechuan spicy Chicken, pickle filet Fish, Spicy Wonton and Garlic Ve Getables. SZECHUAN Spicy Chicken Was Overcooked and Had Really Bad Burn Taste. REST of the Dishes are just ok and even below average. Service was below average for sure. We asked couple times to get ice water&napkins and that was not the busiest time of the day. This is very misleading to people who never tried Chengdu food and called it “ Chengdu Impression”.

When picking up the food, I wanted to double-check whether it belonged to me (because I saw that the name at the top of the list was not my name). The waiter didnt come over to explain where the name was. He just said it was yours, and then sat away as soon as the items were placed. I was looking at my phone everywhere (the waiter had been looking at his phone since I entered the door, including the process of picking up the package. He was looking at his phone while handing the package to me, so I was worried that the name was wrong and wanted to double-check it. )
