Food was good as you can tell by the empty plate. They are accommodatimg special requests like a half and half pizza. I used to come more often when they had a different Groupon deal and thought I would try it again after two years but its still really noisy and dark with the lights flickering at times as if they were going out.

1st time we got there before 8pm they said they were closing and weren’t sitting anymore tables. 2nd time we went we were unimpressed food, la toscana has better food. 3rd time called at 7:45pm and they say they’re not taking any more tables even though online it says they are. They say they’re closing early. Change your hours to 8pm

Excellent pizza. Good wine selection. My first visit, but not my last. Attentive service, warm atmosphere. Some groups conversing in Italian, which I take as a good sign of quality Italian cuisine. Big menu, everything looks tempting.

Food was very yummy and delicious. Ambience: super loud, server took 15/20 minutes to get to our table without saying hi or her name. All I know is that she was blond with bangs. Plus we didn’t get refill on our drinks ( soda and water) .

I loved Chianti Cucina.l. its a very quaint very cozy restaurant. Because I was on my own the night I went there I sat at the bar for dinner. The owners hang around by the bar and talk to people and the staff was informative and very attentive. I tried there Caymus Conundrum red blend wine. It was stunning very very smooth and full-bodied with a berry edge. I had their sweet corn soup, which was smooth creamy and absolutely delicious. For dinner I had their carbonara. I am picky when it comes to carbonara. Theirs was some of the best that Ive had this side of Italy. Their pappardelle was fresh and super thin, the sauce was creamy and full of flavor, the pancetta was crispy and the onions were soft and delicious. For dessert I had a Limoncello cream parfait which was like frozen limoncello with a little bit of cream mixed in. A better way describe is a lemon cream freeze. I really enjoyed it. What I also enjoyed about Chianti Cucina was that the people were very friendly. Several people that came to the bar engaged me in conversation.

I have some things to say:Service: 5 out of 5Food: 5 out of 5Ambiance: 5 out of 5Wine….. 3.5 out of 5.For those like me who appreciate wine, they served my wine in a warm glass. Disappointing, and as I looked over to the bar, I saw that the keep the wine out in the open. For those who know, wine is best served between 61-65 degrees depending the type, but the wine taste different when it warm. Other then this, the place is good to try, I hope they can improve on the way they handle their wine.

This restaurant is my favorite Italian diner so far. I had the Calamari Steak with a Caesar Salad, and I tried some Fetuccini Alfredo that my grandmother ordered. It was seriously good. Everything was cooked perfectly and each dish seemed to have its own unique touch to it that worked very well. Its pricey but well worth it.

We had another nice dinner here; lobster and crab ravioli and a great risotto. Just disappointed with my after dinner espresso, weak and served in a cup on a bread plate(!) with no sugar or spoon. Otherwise service was very good as usual.

This is our go to dinner place in Petaluma. However our three meals were not very good this time. Not sure if the chef was overwhelmed with lunch guests..Took my neighbor there it was her 1st time she didnt like it at all.Dessert was good we had the tiramusu.

We arrived early with elderly parents. We were seated in the middle of the charmingly decorated dining room. The restaurant very quickly filled up to packed. Food was very good and so was the service. Rich and filling portions were enjoyed by all. The escalating noise level and number of people squeezed into the dining room made us all uncomfortable. We decided not to stay for dessert due to this situation. It was then very difficult for the mobility challenged elders to navigate their way to the door through the over stuffed room.

It was nice to see Chianti doing well. The inside and patio were both full to their reduced capacity. It was a breezy evening, but the patio stayed warm. Everyone enjoyed their meal and wine. If you like calamari, it is exceptionally good here, both the appetizer and the meals. Service is also excellent.

Havent been here in a few years and glad we dined tonight. I had the Ahi special served over delicious garlicky spinach on top of mashed potatoes! Perfect amount of food. Hubby had their lasagne and enjoyed it. Brother had the risotto with scallops and spinach. Also very good but disappointed in only getting 3 scallops.

2nd visit to this restaurant and once again the food was absolutely amazing, from the calamari appetizer, to the spinach salad with Gorgonzola to the veal saltimbocca... They use fresh organic baby vegetables that are a treat. The atmosphere itself is very small and cozy... They have small tables or small intimate booths which are very comfortable as well as romantic... Great date restaurant.However this second time the service was disappointing so I had to remove a star. The Tall Blond waitress with the ponytail was very tight-lipped and snooty... She asked us if we were ready to order without telling us what the specials were... I had to ask her what the specials were and she did not apologize for not telling us know what the specials were... We had a late lunch and chose to split the meal and her disapproval was apparent in her face... However note the portions are plenty ample to share and you wont be disappointed....Will definitely go back for the wonderful food which is lovingly prepared and is delicious and for the wonderful Ambience and will hope that the service is better next time

Go here! This place is amazing for Novato cuisine. All the dishes you would expect at an Italian restaurant and their menu is not trying to do too much either. Its a perfect balance! The wine selection is good. The staff are great. And the food quality is consistent and delicious. We get the risotto and the lasagna bolognese. The pasta is light and thin and delicious. The sauce is great too. The tiramisu is a perfect ending.

We have gone 3 times after ordering take out! we werent expecting much so we gave it a try.Well, both meals were truly delicious! I had the halibut special it was the BEST take out ever!Hubby had the chops he also loved it! Next time we went in for a special occasion dinner and again the food amazing ! Chianti is a title hidden gem with the best Italian food in Novato. We now know that no matter take out or dine-in your going to get an excellent meal.not to forget the dessert and service was also wonderful. we definitely become regulars!.

Cute place, however the wine markups are rather high. As for the food, it was decent enough. Just not something I would write home about. The wait staff though was on top of it. This is why I feel Chianti Cucina deserves 4 stars. You arent paying for the average Italian food. Youre paying for their excellent service.

Have your tastebuds ever danced? Mine did and they wore party hats! A birthday gift of dining from my sister. Photos cant relay the masterful combination of flavors. We shared the mussels in a divine broth. We shared the steak and crab and lobster ravioli. The vegetables were brilliantly cooked. The sauce with the ravioli was lemony and just the right consistency to mop up with the bread. The steak was deliciously grilled tender and juicy! If licking your plate was socially acceptable I would have done just that with every plate! Try this gastronomic gem Im sure you will have dancing tastebuds as well!

The food here is excellent! We have been to this restaurant several times and never had a bad meal. The service is great, as is the ambiance. My favorite dish, which I order almost every time, is the Cioppino. It makes the 32 mile round-trip worthwhile.

5 years ago I lived in nevado and I it used to go by this restaurant almost every night not to eat but to have some orders or glass of wine and talk to the owners who are very very nice and maybe once a week or every to wake weeks we would have dinner there. Since then and went with some Italian friends of ours and I was very excited to revisit this place used to be a favorite of mine but I was disappointed on a couple of cows and I think that this review will bring to attention a few saw a small elements that can always be corrected in a Restaurant. The salads were extremely small the pin a pasta was absolutely ordinary and fairly tasteless and of course the wine was great. Because Im in the industry myself I know it is extremely hard to keep every night every worker and every dish perfect. It simply doesnt happen but in the finer restaurants the quality remains high 95% of the time and its always about correcting a few things that a pointed out that makes people want to revisit in give a second chance or keep coming. I wish the best for this restaurant because the owners of very good and the servers are also very friendly and very good it was just the kitchen on this particular night that seemed to have fallen flat. We had been going by the Chianti Cucina for several days and I noticed the signs with the specials. We are from another state and I told my husband I wanted to do dinner there as the special was rack of lamb. I have no regrets and neither did my husband. I discovered this restaurant two months ago and had an enjoyable experience with my son, eating at the bar. The food and service is outstanding. I have returned numerous times and have never been disappointed. The serving sizes are generous. I am second generation Italian and Italian cuisine is my favorite.Their carbonara is the best I have had, included numerous trips to Italy. I also really enjoyed the rack of lamb; and it came with polenta, which was delicious. I believe i’ve tried all of their salads and they were fresh and delicious.I have yet to try their deserts, as I have always been too full. They definitely have the best Italian food In Novato, if not Marin. I definitely highly recommend going there for a good meal.

I get that this is Novato, and not SF or Healdsburg, and perhaps I went on an off day, but the food (and service to a lesser extent) was exceptionally disappointing during my one (and final) visit. I didn’t have huge expectations either.Choices are limited in this area and my folks still go here sometimes, but I certainly won’t be going back and you’d be better off cooking a frozen lasagna at home and saving a bunch of money.Sorry, I’ll drive to Petaluma before I go here again.

My family and I walked in on a Friday night with no reservations and they had us seated in 10 mins. Then proceeded to serve us with top notch service and food, on plate full servings. My wife rave about the alfredo with chicken, and the raviolis with pesto sauce was amazing also. And they served my children pizza the size of theit plates also. Chianti Italian Restaurant...let’s talk about it. I should have known that it could only go bad after I step in and I saw the maxiscreen with football on. Starters were pre-made, carpaccio pulled out right away from the fridge, just added some arugula on top looking like a nest made by a disabled bird. Fried calamari I had to dip in the ketchup, which is a sacrilege but there was no way to add flavor otherwise. You can fry a roll of toilet paper and the taste will be the same. The pasta with meatballs was overcooked...in Italy. Not even in the hospital do they serve that. Anything else I ordered was not enough good to be mentioned. Espresso in the end was just a burned soup.I am Italian. Change the name of the restaurant and serve different food... 4.5 No way, you won that at the lottery...If you have 20% of self esteem ...don’t go there!
