Second attempt coming to Chicken Meets Rice. My first try a few weeks before, came in about 30 min to an hour after they opened, and staff mentioned most of their chicken was going to take another hour to be available so I left to maybe try again in the near future.I ordered:-$14 hainan chicken box, mixed meat with skin, chicken rice-sauces, CMR (thai ginger soy) and ginger scallion oil-chicken brothPricey for the amount of chicken you get. Mainly chicken rice fills the weight of the bowl, and the rice is just average.It took the food quite a long time to come out. Close to 20 minutes. The location definitely gets a lot of Doordash orders.Parking is usually pretty easy to find in the plaza.

The Hainan chicken rice is not as flavorful as I thought itd be. My impression of the chicken should be yellow with chicken oil oozing out in the rice. The green scallionginger sauce is old and not fresh, nor flavorful. This version of the Hainan chicken is below my expectation. Food was expensive with a few pieces of chicken on top of tasteless rice.If you want real Hainan chicken rice, this is not the place for it. Ordered from machine. Drink is not customizable. Probably wont be back.

I love this store!Clerks are nice and the food is so delicious 🤩The rice had a little aroma but I can’t tell what’s that🤣I came here for MacuTea and bought lunch home.Really surprised me😍😍I will go there for drink and the rice every week🤣

Tried their signature Hainan Chicken Box. You have the options if dark or white or mixed meat, with our without skin, and two choices of sauce. We found the Thai Ginger sauce was pretty good. You also have choice on rice. Our Chicken Rice, which is white rice infused with chicken broth, is very good. And the chicken is very moist and tender.

Ordered delivery a couple of times. Food quality is very stable. Like their grill chicken than the original Hainan chicken. The grill one has more flavor. Also my favorite sauce is the ginger scallion oil. It boost the chicken flavor to the next level. The good thing is their vegetables taste good too. Like the sweet carrots. Plus the chicken soup is very good too. Nothing I want complain.

Highlights:-Price: very affordable-chicken rice was perfect pairing with the soft and tender grilled chicken and the fried one. Very umami with saltiness and sweetness from the teriyaki sauce-chicken was not dry but packed with the flavors from the marinate-refreshing chicken soup to wash down flavors after each bite

Found this place after scrolling through yelp, could not decide between sushi, ramen, or this restaurant. Nonetheless, what got me interested in this establishment was the surprising name, Chicken Meets Rice. Quite attention grabbing. This place is located in a mini food court next to the 99 Ranch Market. The manager, Jonathan, was kind and nice enough to explain and accommodate our requests to our order.What we had ordered:1) Split Protein Box: Fried Chicken, Tofu, Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Broth, and Sweet Chili and Teriyaki Sauce.2) Grilled Chicken Box, Sticky Rice, Veggie Broth, Teriyaki and Sweet Chili Sauce.My friend and I enjoyed every bite of our meals. The concept of chicken and rice is simple, but the flavors were so delicious and flavorful. Super healthy with protein and a medley of vegetables with the rice. The broths were a good palate cleanser and not salty at all. I had not eaten the entire day, so I was super pleased that this was my first meal of the day!Would love to come here again! :)

Perfect for a quick lunch with small menu options so you dont have to worry about what to order.Love their CMR house sauce and complimentary chicken broth with your order. This place is great if you want some Hainan chicken rice. I have never tried any of their other dishes so can only speak to this dish. The chicken is tenn-derr! The chicken rice also has a good subtle flavor. I tried many of the sauces but decided the Thai ginger soy is my favorite and now just get double that.I also really like that you can customize what you want in your dish via the website: white vs dark meat, skin vs no skin, plus I can request them to not include cilantro and carrots easily, and they’ve always gotten it exactly how I want it. Also I chuckled at their “coffee meets tea” drink and had to add it. I’m easily entertained :DOverall a solid place, their estimate for ASAP pickup is always ~20 minutes but I’ve had it ready in ~5 sometimes. At $20 for lunch (incl drink/tax/tip) it is not cheap, but you get your money’s worth in quality. Definitely recommend!

Ive eaten Hainan chicken rice so many times because I lived in Singapore before.Ofcourse this Hainan chicken rice is good, but grilled one is awsome!Furthermore I changed rice to 1/2 salad and 1/2 rice. There are carrot rappe and soup include the combo.Wed like to come here again soon!

Sleep deprived new mom here. I placed my order at wrong location (Santa Clara). Came to pick up here (Cupertino) and the staff were so kind. They prepared my order without any questions. The food here is always excellent. I think it’s the best Hainan chicken in the area. I highly recommend this place. Just don’t do what I did. Select the right location when placing an online order. :)

I ordered the Hainan Chicken with chicken rice and chicken broth. It tasted pretty good; the rice is not white rice and it has a different taste and is soft. The hainan chicken is good and I’d recommend to get it without skin if you don’t like to eat slimy-textured things. The chicken broth was the best part and tasted amazing. I also got the teriyaki sauce and it added a nice flavor to the food. On the side there’s a mini salad with cucumber, carrots, and cilantro.

Wonderful staff. Food was very bland. Edit - Hi Senh, thank you for your nice reply. Again the staff was super nice and helpful. Thats why I picked your place over the other choices at that location. what I ordered was grilled chicken with rice. What I received was some white rice with 1 plain chicken thigh (cut into chunks) a bit of shredded carrot and a bit of thinly sliced cucumber. That was it. very small, unseasoned and the price with tax and tip was almost $20.

The quality of the food has been consistently good, the sauces were excellent and my family loved the chicken rice. My centenarian mom loves the Hainanese Chicken and the authentic tasting ginger scallion sauce. I am super impressed by the excellent customer service rendered to us when there was a small glitch with our order. I contacted the store and within 10 minutes I received a response. The young man was courteous, professional, and most of all, sincere and transparent. Being an experienced customer service caller and callee, I was very heartened by his candor and genuine care. Very very refreshing quality! My family will definitely come back for more.

There is a similar store in SF called Rooster & Rice, The combo is 2$ more but sauce and soup are much better … Store owner if you see my comment, please go there it try it out. I would like to pay 2$ more to get similar quality around and 5 stars.

Authentic chicken rice, just like the ones I had back in Singapore and Malaysia. We usually order online from its own website and pick it up in the store. If you order from UberEats, the selection is limited, eg, no white rice option.

The rice is good. The white meat chicken I ordered, however, does not seem like the traditional Southeast Asian 海南雞， It is more like chicken breasts from Costco rotisserie chicken. To me, that’s ok. I don’t think more sophisticated 海南雞飯 connoisseurs would like it though.

Delicious Hainanese/Singaporean chicken place. I got 2 extra of the famous ginger sauces and just smothered everything in it. They have an easy-to-use kiosk computer menu ordering system that walks you through all the options.

Flavorful, tender chicken. One thing if management sees reviews, I suggest to have employees with long hair who preps food tie their hair back, neatly. As much as I like the food, I would hate to have a hair thats not mine in the food.

The Hainanese chicken rice and fried chicken rice that my family ordered tasted quite good, the portions were generous, and the prices were relatively cheap. The meal delivery speed is also ok. There is a self-service ordering machine. You can choose different meats for Hainan chicken, white meat (chicken breast) and dark meat (bone-based meat). You can also choose whether to have chicken skin or not. If you don’t know what you want to eat, or just want to eat casually, this is a good choice.
