Weve been visiting this place over pho places recently. They have pho but they specialize in chicken soup, which is a bit lighter and just as flavorful. We always order fresh spring rolls which are made to order. The place we packed for lunch on a Monday, which speaks to the steady crowd you can expect. If you dont get seated right away, you probably will in 5-10 mins. I keep returning here and believe its better than its star ratings suggest.

I thought this place was pretty decent considering its one of the cheaper food spots on the street. I wish they had included more vegetables but besides that its pretty good cafeteria food.

I am not a Pho person, so I always order BBQ pork over rice. But this one doesnt taste good, and the texture is also weird. Chicken soup noodle is OK.

If you avoid restaurants because of punny names, please raise your hand. I admit, I was like this too, until I was drawn in by the amazing smell of chicken soup from Chicken Pho Yous San Mateo branch. Sadly, they are no longer open in SM, so imagine my delight when I found another branch in Millbrae!I love noodle soups and this place serves my second favorite bowl. Cilantro, green onions, boneless chicken, a fat serving of noodles, and piping hot soup. So simple and so good! The chicken soup here seems a bit different from other chicken pho Ive had; the flavor seems more clean. It reminds me of childhood and a little bit of the soup you get from Hainan chicken rice sets.Get a small if youre trying out this place, because theres a deceptively high amount of noodles. I say this as someone who gets hangry easily and loves noodles. Its a GENEROUS portion. 😆Stepping in here brings me back in time as a restaurant kid. The chatter, the clients, the service, and food.

The chicken pho was delicious and the pork fresh spring rolls were really good. We’ll definitely come back to try some more items. They also have tasty-looking drinks!

Not a fancy restaurant…everything is old and the menu feels sticky, not an authentic phoWe order chicken noodles, beef noodles and the famous pho the taste was fine...but the deep fired yuntun taste not good, very disappointed. we also order the coffee but they completely forgot to serve. I will just be nice to give them a 3round up to 3.5. Not sure will be back

Came here on Saturday morning. Not busy. After we sat down about 9:30ish many more people came in. Had chicken, Shrimp & Pork dumplings (won ton) with noodles (wide noodles like chow fun(but soup style) and Beef Stew with noodles (same kind of noodles) had left over too. Will try other items on the menu.

I came to this area to have breakfast because it is near the airport. The name kind of drew me in. 老地方, reminded me a restaurant in Toronto. Food came within 15 minutes. The taste was good. The rice rolls are freshly made, but it was mainland China style, not HK style. But the flavor was good. Parking was easy on a Friday morning.

I walked in. Chicken pho you with only 17.00 credit on my card I order a large Chicken Pho ate And wasnt too sure if any transactions from before had reflect it. But I was forced to give a tip so this is for you restaurant....No, restaurants cannot force customers to tip in San Mateo County or in any other county in the United States. While tipping is a common practice in the restaurant industry, it is not mandatory and customers have the right to decide how much to tip or whether to tip at all. However, some restaurants may include a mandatory service charge for large groups or special events, but this must be clearly stated and noted on the menu, and it cannot be labeled as a tip. Ultimately, the decision to tip is up to the customer based on their satisfaction with the service they have received.
