The first time I tried this place, I hated it but its the fried chicken and pork nuggets I dont like. I know people who love their fried combination plates, just not me. However, the prices and portions are good. I highly recommend string bean chicken, asparagus chicken, seafood delight, and beef chow fun. Sometimes they put too much black bean sauce, but its never too salty. Mapo tofu is not spicy and lacks something. BBQ pork too tough. I personally dont like sweet Chinese-American food and those are my usual orders, but the family is nice and they give you A LOT of food.

I have to admit that this is probably the best place to get Chinese food in this town. I mean you get more bang for your buck. Good food, portions and they are friendly folks. Nice place.
I had high hopes for this place because it had such good reviews, boy was I wrong. Most of my order was bland( the garlic chicken was good) and my first bite of sesame chicken was mostly fat and bone. The rice wasnt cooked through and items labeled hot and spicy simply werent and Im a wimp when it comes to spicy foods.
The shrimp chop suey is the best... fresh vegetables and shrimp. Delicious!
This place is excellent we just discovered it, my husband is vegan and there are many many vegan options.Our favorite dishes are braised tofu, chezwan broccoli, string beans and the chow fun.Also they give a discount of 10% to university students
Great portions and great price. We spend $30 for a family of 4. Food is good too. This has been our place since 2010. Weve been to others in town and were not happy with the portions and the high price. If your on a budget then this is the place.
Gross, gross, gross! I went to eat there once and it was ok. Good food and nice service. So I took a leap of faith and went again, not such a great experience. There were live roaches on the table and wall. I actually believe one of them came from under my plate when she set the plate down and it started running on the table.Plus the fact it smells like Raid roach spray when you walk in solidifies my findings. I spoke to the server, and she acted like it was something normal. Never again will I step foot in that place.
I just found this place and it is awesome. The Udon noodles where perfect as well as the rice. At first I thought the broccoli beef needed more beef but after eating it I was definitely wrong. Everything was perfect. I live in Stockton and will be back here for my birthday which is coming up fast

I ordered a number 3 chow main was the worst i have ever tasted just noodles no kind of veggies. The orange chicken was nasty nothing orange about it. All this food had no flavor taste like the pan was burnt. Am sorry but this place is not worth trying,i have been to many Chinese restaurants and never have had this quality of food. King Asian Cuisine is hands down a much better choice.
Food was awful Mongolian beef didn’t look or taste like it, orange chicken dear lord you people need to revisit your food wonton stale $ 200. Worth of food not fit for consumption…
China Caff is by far one of the best and affordable Chinese food restaurants in Merced. Customer Service is amazing. The people that work there are polite and welcoming. The food portions are hearty, so you will leave with leftovers (if you choose to keep your food). Plenty of options in combo plates to choose from. The appetizers are a bit pricey for an appetizer, but they are tasty. Customers have the option to dine in or take to go. Overall, great vibes all around.PS: When ordering the Lemon Chicken, make sure to mention you want the chicken meat and not the chicken nuggets.
The food was just passable... Ive had the orange chicken, sweet-n-sour pork, and sesame chicken, and the sweet-n-sour was putrid, I could not force myself to finish it. The sesame chicken tasted fine, but the flour still had a raw edge to it. The chicken chow mein is decent enough, although Im leaning more towards the egg fried rice.The service was alright, and the prices are really the only redeeming aspect of this restaurant.

Its cheap for a reason... my orange chicken and chowmein were very mushy and lacked flavor. My boyfriends spicy beef had around 5 pieces of meat. And the appetizers cost almost as much as the combo meals? The cheap price isnt worth it in my opinion.
First time here. The staff were very good. The food had a certain style. For sure try it.
Food was alright. Service was fast. The Asian girl who took our order was very rude and rushed us as soon as we walked in the door. She came to our table 2 times and asked what we wanted and both times we said we needed more time. Then we got our food and every 5 minutes she would ask if everything is ok. I would like to eat my food in peace please. Then before we were even done she brought the check and we had only been there for 20 minutes. Didnt ask if we wanted refill on water. Just stood behind the counter and kept staring and there was only 2 other people in the restaurant. Poor Customer service for rushing first time guests out of your establishment. Wont be returning to eat heRe to eat again.
The service was up to par, food is always served with a warm, sincere smile, and it always arrives to my table not a moment too soon. Great family owned resaurant. Food always freshly made. Fresher than most other Chinese places like Panda. I enjoy coming here with friends, or just ordering for pickup when Im in a mood to eat alone at home. I always recommend this place to friends who want to try different Chinese, straying away from big chain restaurants. I always tell them to at least try it. 9/10 it because their favorite place to get Chinese.
Great food. Only complaint is that the prices on the photo online is old and not accurate. But the waitress worked with me and showed me what to get for my budget that could feed my whole family.Not to mention our children went to the same school. Lol

Being one of their regulars I can say you will get your moneys worth even on their worst day.Have a special lunch menu between 11am-3pm that cant be beat.Have restroom.Handicap parking is available.High chairs as well.Bottomless beverages.Speedy service.Take out only as. Low wait times, always clean, most plates under $10, and you get to eat while being seranaded by piano arrangements. Ive come here for years and still love each visit.
Today I went to China Caff I’ve been going here for about six years and it’s been pretty good but just lately it’s gone down sad to say well the pandemic was gone it was going pretty good and didn’t want to fall back I guess but any help today I will order chow mein vegetable dish which would definitely be called a vegetable delight and most China places they’ve been pretty good with adding vegetables to my chow mein but this time it really disappointing me the only added cabbage and broccoli which I know they consist of at least four varieties this is not good and then the lady that answers the phone now acts like she doesn’t know what she has on the menu or speaks very broken English When I asked her what does it consist of she told me it had broccoli and cabbage and other vegetables well she could name the other ones because they weren’t in the dish that explains most of it so when you order here and make sure that you specifically tell her to put in those vegetables or a variety of them because the cook over there in the bag is only looking at the menu and the vegetable delight obviously only consist of two vegetables what a place
I havent actually eaten here for many years. But I remember growing up my parents this was theyre number one Chinese food place. Which means I literally learned to like Chinese food from eating food from this place. That may say a lot.

Horrible! Since, when did chicken nuggets become a Mandarin/Cantonese food? Yes, chicken nuggets were on my plate. I ordered lemon chicken, not chicken nuggets. Sweet and sour Pork was actually sweet and sour CHICKEN! The egg fried rice was drenched in soy sauce! Everything was cold! I was disgusted with this restaurant!!
I have multiple bad experiences with them. First they give me a old meat for the beef broccoli.Now today I have something stuck on my throat after I eat a beef broccoli from them. I use to like them but now I don’t think I’m going back.

Fried rice is just steamed rice fried with Soy sauce, no meats, veggies, egg nothing literally just rice with soy sauce. Garlic chicken is very good as well as the sweet and sour chicken. Chicken chow mein is so so, service was very friendly though.
Food was great. Menu was misleading. I thought my order came with chicken chow main but now you have to order that separately.
I loved their Hunan Shrimp dish along with their fried rice. Not so much on their chowmein and Shrimp in Lobster sauce. Fried prawns were too tough.

It was surprisingly delicious my plate was not so good I had the almond chicken plate but they had a sweet and sour chicken plate that was super on point and delicious!!!

However i feel obligated to write a review about this place as it’s happened more than once and i don’t want anyone else wasting their money if they can read this before doing so. I’ve been to china cafe more than a few times within the last year always giving the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe they had a bad day or a long day whatever the case may have been i kept decided to give another try do to the countless “great” reviews about the place. These reviews are lies! It’s terrible every time! Raw chicken and huge in normal sized pieces of chicken. Think about how the prices are low in times of record breaking inflation prices. Save your money and your tummy eat elsewhere
