2023-04-26 05:49:55We had such a wonderful time here. Strongly recommend! Make sure you hike some trails. So many of them and they are easy, but gorgeous.

2023-04-04 04:51:45It was a beautiful warm relaxing day. The great part about going to China camp is its right in my backyard. You dont have to spend half the day driving to the coast to enjoy a nice day at the beach. Its a great place to bring your kids. Great hiking trails and to have birthday parties π₯³

2022-10-04 14:14:43We have been coming to China camp beach for many years. This day was special not our normal kayak day. As we pulled in the driveway to park we heard singing in Spanish and saw about 50 people standing on the beach. To our surprise it was a baptism right on the water. It was amazing to watch the few folks in all white getting dipped into the bay.

2022-05-17 08:17:44I went hiking all the way up to China Camp beach. It was a wonderful hike with interesting vegetation. The beach area was also very nice and relaxing. A great easy-level hiking experience.

2023-10-03 17:32:08Beach is quite nice, the locals were generally rude, which is weird since it is only 45 min away from the city. Also, it is odd that the museum makes no mention of the miwok tribe which I found insulting.

2023-07-04 22:19:47I decided to go on a picnic, and since we were driving past the area, I decided to go out to China Point. We found parking just before the entrance to the China beach area and paid the $5 park fee. It was an easy walk down to the beach area, which had plenty of picnic tables. If we had brought a blanket, we might have picniced on the beach. There were a few kids splashing in the water along the long beach, with a dog or two thrown in for good measure. A few ancient buildings. Not as many signs explaining the history of the area as one might want. Nice scenery. Fresh air. Helpful park rangers. So I had a good picnic, even if I didnt take more advantage of the parks offerings.

2021-12-26 01:47:48A beautiful but little known location. Once frequented by Chinese immigrant fishermen harvesting shrimp and other crustaceans. A low-key location often used for photography shoots - in this case my 1972 BMW 2002 tii being shot by preeminent automobile photographer Phil Toy for Collectible Automobiles magazine. One of those βgolden lightβ afternoons picked by him for this purpose. Outstanding photographer.

2019-06-05 21:44:04While visiting the area, I was looking for a nice place to hang out and relax for the day when I discovered China Camp State Park. There are several places to pull over and just park and look at the views, as well as some fee-based points you can access for parking and restrooms. There are trails all around, on which to walk or bike. I have included a sign of the trails. Day-use passes can be purchased with cash or credit card. There is also a campground here but, as it is a state park, it is a bit spendy. A beautiful area to hike around in with views of the ocean.
