I just ran across the street from my job to grab a quick bite. Ordered shrimp fried rice w/ ex bean sprouts. Got a bunch of rice a few ex sprouts that cost an addl dollar & 10 shrimp on top ONLY, plus .55 to use my debit card. Nice if you like a pile of hot rice. Wont be bk until the next desperate time. Not impressed.

Great food cooked on the spot and served up steaming hot. The noodles at first seemed a bit different but try them and be amazed they must be made fresh as well. Great food I don’t like the area so much but definitely a great spot

Soups are my fav!!! Use to luv the fried rice and egg rolls but sumtms the egg rolls are a bit greasy and the rice doesn’t always taste the best. So can’t go wrong with the soups they are always fire!!!

Not the nicest employees although it depends on the day. Huge portions and delicious food, excluding the egg rolls, they feel like biting into a head of cabbage, although they arent entirely bad. Its a small place but doing the best with what space is available

Food was great and the prices are reasonable. Service is pretty quick. Cash is preferred but they do have an ATM and will also charge you a .50cent charge for a debit or credit charge. Wonton soup was so good and fulfilling everything here is good in portions and taste. Down fall is it is a small spot to try dinning in its more of a to go spot. Plus outside they do have sitting areas but there is people all high dirty and crazy hanging out and yelling, so if this is not a environment for you just take it to go because it is so worth it.

Never coming here again!!! It gave me food poisoning for 2 days. I ordered shrimp fried rice with extra shrimp and a combination egg roll. Food tasted weird and shrimp could have been undercooked. I am so disappointed that this place went downhill, this use to be my go to Chinese food place.

I been coming to China Gate for years. A family member was employed there for 25 years as a cashier. Our Family friend P.. was the chief there, he was quick with the spoon good always on point with his flavors. Fulfilling portions that for sure will get you full. So far so good... Food is made on the spot. Very tasty. The only downside is the location; there is only @ 6 counter-style seats. It does get very busy & crammed. The menu is posted on the walls in the form of pictures, some are made as-is & some you can make substitutions... Dont be deterred if you cant substitute(as-is)... Also, there is a homeless person who has made this establishment their hang-out & asks customers for $$$, so be prepared for a foul odor. I do recommend if you are in the area to stop by & give them a try... They are located across from Martin Luther King Hospital, next to Subway... Enjoy...

Fresh food good prices and a ton a food for your money in my opinion. The combination egg rolls are great. My favorite thing about this place is the food isnt just sitting there under heating lamps. You go in you order and its cooked to order. I really like the shrimp fried rice or my favorite is the spicy shrimp lunch it comes with rice and eggroll. The place is small but dont let that discourage you from ordering. Peter and his crew really knows what they are doing. I ordered the shrimp fried rice for a school pot luck and lets just say I met alot of new people that night they all wanted to know where its from. Try it go during lunch time call in if you can because this place is well now and becomes busy at moments of the day.

Their dishes are comparable to those you would get at the mixer sir down restaurants. My sister has been eating here for years and had them cater our mothers 95th Birthday Celebration. All were pleased with the cuisine and I received calls many days following to ask for the address. Last night, I started eating the Shrimp Fried Rice as soon as I got back in the car.😄😍🙋

Its best to call in your order to pick up even though you still have to wait in line. Just make sure to check that you have everything you ordered. Otherwise, this has been my favorite Chinese take out for well over 10 years.

The customer service is awesome. In rush hours for restaurants, the team is considerate to everyone and does not crack under pressure. First come first served basis, food cooked within an appropriate amount of time, and never any mix ups with orders. Great place to get good Chinese food, great experience overall!!!

I guess you have to be from Watts/Compton, I ordered shrimp fried rice and 2 vegetable egg rolls at 12:22 order number 12. The cashier is rude and disrespectful at about 12:58, I asked for a refund because several people ordered after me and the order I made just sat there getting cold. I know 12 comes before 18 so I guess they serve everyone backwards. If I could give a half of star I would just because of the unprofessionalism of the cashier.

The Walnut shrimp and combination fried rice is absolutely to die for depending on the Chef cooking once in awhile its a little too watery most of the time nice and creamy white sauce. The people that work here are super nice that is a huge Plus I hate going to places where the staff is rude I normally dont return unless I absolutely positively have to. Dont think that your hard work goes unappreciated to those whom matter, those whom can actually smile and enjoy life still. My boyfriend and I eat here once or twice a week. I usually cant wait, its so exciting. Even cold in the middle of the night or the next morning for breakfast, its still amazing. Literally just left the resturant and ordered shrimp fried rice. Got back to work and realized there wasnt any shrimp. Called the resturant back and the guy who I placed the order with who is also probably the owner said I didnt make the right order and even went to the extent to say he just got to work and didnt know what I was talking about yet I made the order with him. Best Chinese food ever! Cooked right when you order, food doesnt sit under lights. Its always fresh also tip between the hours of 1:00 p.m and 4:00 p.m its lunch prices and you get to choose 2 different foods after 4:oo its dinner trays so you get 1 big serving and its enough for 2 or 3 people. You can also phone in orders.

Got the Mongolian Beef Noodle Plate for $5.99. Beef mixed with tasty noodles, a scoop of fried rice, and veggie roll. Very generous portion and nothing is cooked till you order it, you can see the Asian guy tossing your food around in a deep skillet.
