Very bad, they dont speak English, they charge combinations wonton soup chicken and shrimp but no shrimp but was charged for it, the total price was wrong at first and it was corrected. They charge u almost $10 with two combo selection but there is hardly any food given to u all carbs . Will never come back here. Horrible place. Call them back for my paid shrimp and they said how many orders are u ordering, I just hung up the phone

I am not satisfied with the food or service. The person with the blue hat always gives me a bad attitude when I told him if he could add a little bit more orange chicken, because I feel he did not give me the same amount of portion as. Other customers he charged me four dollars extra for about five pieces more. I wish they could beat. Someone speaks proper English or Spanish, or both so this business could provide better customer satisfaction. I think I would rather drive 5 miles further than to buy with this place again. she is very stingy. I asked if I could get some soy sauce. He gave me one packet and I said can I have three she said no and gave me one more.

Fair experience coming to this place for the first time. Costumer service definitely needs some improvement. In search of a replacement since the New Wok in El Monte no longer is open. Definitely going to take a while to find anything close to New Wok.

This Chinese food is hands down the best Chinese food on this side of town! It is always fresh and they cook the food really well.I had the Mushroom Chicken,to be honest, this is my favorite taste! I will come back!

Excellent service, great portions, and fast serving times!The most important thing is that they have reasonable prices！ My beef with broccoli was delicious, full of beef and vegetables. I did check out the menu online before actually going to China gate because there are so many choices...glad I did!

I came to China gate many times before for many years. And today May 1st of 2023 at 2:20pm. I had the worst experience ever with this place. I was casually ordering my food and being nice to the employee who was a guy and he was giving me an unnecessary attitude like I was wasting his time. What really got me really mad was that when I was paying he jacked my card from my hand quickly. After he tossed me the receipt and a pen and said sign in the most rudest way. What really got me mad was that he tossed me my card after the transaction was done. He kept rolling his eyes at me even when I politely said bye and thank you. Horrible service

!!!!DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!First off I walked into this place and the guy working was sitting down on his phone. I get it, hes taking a break, its not busy, but I called him over nicely once and he ignored me, the second time I called him over he came up to the counter already with an attitude. His tone was just rude, and impatient. Then when he rang me up he snatched my debit card from my hands and I was left speechless. I didnt say anything. He then proceeded to put my two combos in the bag and I noticed he didnt give me any condiments. I politely asked for sriracha, and he snarled at me. He then gave me one little cup of sriracha for two combos! See pictures for reference. When I asked him politely for a second cup since I did in fact pay for TWO combos he then proceeded to make a face at me and looked annoyed to have to reach for a second cup... like what? What took the cake was the fact that after he bagged my stuff and handed it to me he made a sarcastic smile and said bye and waved his hand.. like seriously rude. You could tell he was being an A-hole about it. I called him out on his rudeness. Id heard people at this place are rude and today I confirmed that. So hard to find a good Chinese food place sometimes and I genuinely liked this place but screw them! Never going back!

Food is cold, like the heaters they keep it in dont work. Unfortunately, there is a language barrier and the one person who speaks English fluently is a tyrant. We dined in to eat our food. My child was thirsty and they denied them a cup of water. Rather yelling at him $1.00 $1.00! Just for a cup of tap water. We didnt have a dollar for water. And honestly the food was ruined by its freezing temperature. I kinda feel bad for the two older adults who speak no English who slave in the back. But we wont be back ever again.In response to owner: thank you for your thoughts the person who denied the child a cup of water was a young male. He first directed the child to a cooler with bottled water. I interjected that I had no more cash to purchase a water and asked for a cup which in turn he repeated $1.00 $1.00. I asked him was that for a cup 🥤 😳 thinking I might have a quarter or maybe $.50 for a Styrofoam cup and he just kept say no $1.00 and I said, for tap water, its okay. So between the cold food and the fact we thought your establishment had changed in a negative manner we wrote the review to inform you, the owner. We used to go there frequently but we moved. We actually made a special trip from Montebello. I do hope this review helps you and we may try again in the future.

This place was completely bad the people don’t speak English making it harder to understand them. When I had asked for some forks they completely yelled and said “OK I GET IT FOR YOU JUST WAIT” even though I was the only customer in there. The serving portions are also very small they don’t give you much meat. When they are serving you they don’t always wear gloves and they are constantly putting there hands/fingers in the food instead of placing it on top of the counter they hold it there. When I first entered they people were screaming in the back and came out looking very mad and just glared at me. Most of the people don’t know what they are doing either, when checking me out they had multiple people come just to so it can waste 5 minutes of my time. I don’ t recommend going here unless you are a very patient person.

The food was good and all and we asked for a cup of water and the lady didn’t understand, another guy came from the back and he didn’t understand either but he still gave us a cup. My mom asked politely for some Sriracha and the guy yelled “OK OK WAIT WAIT” and we were both confused because we asked nicely and said please. I was close to telling him to not be rude because it ticked me off that he was yelling at my mom for sriracha. We sat down and ate and we heard a guy making spit noises ig he was clearing his throat and that made me lose my appetite. Never coming here again.

This used to be a REALLY good place to get chinese food but now that they switched owners it went down hill to be honest. The old owners were super nice and gave good portions but now the new owners are rude for no reason, and give smaller portions and I kept on getting ignored everytime I tried to say what I wanted and I guess they dont know much English since they kept on getting confused at what I said even though im 100 percent sure I said it right and the woman kept on getting impatient for no reason and when i finally payed and said thank you she looked at me in a mad way and said nothing, I honestly dont recommend going here anymore

I used to love this place, but they must have new owners.. in the past, the women who worked there were so friendly, and they made great wonton soup. When the lockdown happened the store closed, and reopened with a rude and inefficient staff. Now, the food is bland, egg roll soggy, no condiments given on to go order, and the women serving the buffet could not understand any of my questions or comprehend what items I wanted on my combo. Absolutely, awful all the way around.

Not worth it! I paid $7.34 for a plate. This lady filled about 70% of the plate with chow mein which didnt really have a good flavor. The orange chicken was soggy and honestly tasted like the cheapest crappiest chicken they could get. I threw at least half of my plate away, and the only reason i gave this place a try was because of the positive reviews i saw here on google maps, and when i actually gave this place a try it was a huge disappointment.

Havent been here in over a year but truthfully the food quality has went down immensely. Ordered a combo b and it was quite difficult also being the nice lady didnt speak a word of English. After having to point out I wanted rice, chow mein, beef and broccoli, bbq pork, and an order of egg rolls she didnt know how to ring me up either and had to call a man to help. The chow mein was very greasy and not too much flavor, broccoli was not very warm at all and the beef was hard to bite into, bbq pork also lacked flavor, and my egg rolls were soggy on the inside. Sadly this will be the last time I come to eat here

Been going here a long time and its good for what it is quick and inexpensive Chinese food probably the only thing that keeps me coming here is I love their made to order menu the chow mein and fried rice are easily the best in the city if your getting a personal order with your choice of meat also their Tuesday promotion of buy 2 get one free on combos is okay you do get smaller portions in the entree department but it makes sense since your getting the third combo free
