We ordered take out from China Legend. We eat a lot of Chinese food but, this food was AWESOME! I do not write reviews, so you have to know this food is amazing enough to stop and write this. Fresh, perfect amount of sauce nothing was dry, or over fried. And I will mention FRESH again!!! Give it a try. You will be writing the next review!

China Legend has the freshest food in East Santa Rosa in Rincon Valley.🏞️🌲. The staff is always friendly, courteous, and attentive. Their food is never greasy, too spicy, or cold. Ive only eaten here once but it was quite the experience. I stopped in for the lunch special after working all morning because a co-worker of mine who had been here before had nothing but praise for it. Now Im going to sing the Praises of China Legend because it was very good. Not only was the food excellent but the interior is also quite nice. Its a bit tucked away and hard to find, but I can tell from a lot of the people that were eating there that they were not first time customers. Id someday like to return with a group of people for dinner. And of course Ill be back for that lunch special that goes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.Im sure that after another visit or two that Ill be able to upgrade the rating to five stars.

$15.95 combo lunch special with Schezuan pork. Meal starts with hot n sour soup and a crispy egg roll. Main dish is a generous portion of noddles and lots of pork. Enough food to satisfy a big hungry man. Clean dining room. Fast service by the friendly and helpful owners.

Ive dined at the restaurant and ordered delivery numerous times, and the food is usually fairly decent, depending on the chef.Ordered delivery tonight and I just want to remind everyone that if you order a breaded dish for delivery it will show up completely sogged out. I mean the breading is just mush.I live less than 5 minutes away and it has never shown up crispy. Not once.Also, I dont know what they do to their chicken before breading it and deep frying it, but the chicken always ends up being dry, kind of like chicken jerky or edible chicken wood. Ive not really experienced that in the restaurant.All in all, this is not the worst and certainly not the best, but usually they get it mostly right.Except for delivered deep fried chicken...

Stopped by here for the first time. I was craving Hot and Sour soup, and for giggles ordered egg rolls. That soup was tasty but I was really looking for more of a kick from the sour, or hot and too many other cut up veggies in it. The egg rolls tasted like just, egg rolls. Maybe because they are frozen then fried.I might try it again. 🤔

Super disappointed in this place. Our order was over 20 minutes late for a pick up order, and the food was incredibly bland. Everything we ordered lacked flavor and had a TON of random veggies in it... squash, carrots, bell peppers, celery, broccoli, etc in dishes that traditionally do not come with all of those things in them. They over cooked the potstickers to the point that they were too chewy to bite into, let alone eat. The teriyaki sauce in the chicken teriyaki had a very weird taste to it. Definitely do not recommend this place. We spent over $75 for complete disappointment and my husband ended up sick from the food.

We had dinner to go from China Legend last night. The dishes were not good. My eggplant with garlic sauce was thick and sweet, almost like sweet and sour sauce. The Chinese chicken salad was shredded iceberg lettuce with deep fried chicken breast on top...thats it. I will never eat here again.

Very Pleased. This is my 3rd visit with new ownership. My earlier visits were for the, very inexpensive - and good, lunches. My last visit was for the evening meal. Your options are much larger, and more expensive. I decided to try the salt and pepper fish, hot and sour soup and white rice. The fish dish was one of the most delicious meals Ive had. I did not care for the hot & sour soup as it tasted like a vegetable hot & sour soup. The evening menu provides more variety and much more food for each order. I think one order could satisfy two people so it would be easy to split. I definitely will go back to explore other items.

They have yummy food but Ive been to better places where you get more for less money. But Im a pretty thrifty person so I always look at quantity. Plus I like having leftovers for the next day😉 We noticed the serving plates were huge and they spread the food out to look like more but then it got cold too fast. They should use smaller plates and pile it higher. Just saying. Other than that they are good.

Really great Chinese food overall. The beef dishes that I have had have probably been the best so far. It never seems busy but the staff are always very speedy and friendly. What makes this place so good: the veggies are always cooked to perfection, never soggy like theyve been stewing in a warming tray for hours.

I spent $75 on a delivery order, the food was tasteless, the egg rolls were more like spring rolls and hardly any taste at all in the filling, the same with the crab ragoon, hardly any filling at all!!! The sauce for the organge chicken was extremely sweet and the human chicken was so spicy I couldnt eat it. I read many reviews saying how good the food was, but we didnt think so and I will not waste my money ordering from them again!

I chose the Orange Chicken which was tasty, of ample size & served attractively.But prepared in a style not my favorite. It was small chicken slivers or fingers deep fried in a heavily bread like popcorn battered coating. Lightly crispy.I personally prefer the less breaded not puffy version thats closer to chicken deep fried chunks in an orange sauce. The other reminds me of battered fish sticks. But it wasnt NOT good. The fortune in the fortune cookie was a bit philosophical rather than fortune like. But it did include a set of numbers. Perhaps the fortune will we found playing those on lotto or keno. Who knows? Cookie was tasty so what more can one expect?They were happy to wrap my leftovers in to go fashion with extra dipping sauces no charge for my rice.Oh & they use free range chicken from petaluma processors. No hormones. Water is filtered. Gluten free choices are plentiful.They do deliver.Not much to criticize over all. I usually Love my Experience at this Restaurant. Yesterday 05/15/18 .. I had a different experience. I went to Lunch with a friend of mine. We were having a Nice visit, Came time to pay the bill. We had a $22 Bill, Which my friend and I always split. My Portion was $11.. I Left a Tip of $2.50.. Which is above 20% (Of my portion)The Waiter came up and Rudely picked up the Check holder, Looked directly at me, and asked was there something wrong with my service? What the waiter didnt know was my friend had not left her Tip yet.. We were not done. By him doing this he lost out on the other half of his Tip. In my many years of Service, I have never had a Waiter do that. Very unprofessional. and he Left a bad feeling on what should have been a Nice afternoon. It may be a long time before we go back to this restaurant.

Food was great. Watch your bill. We ordered take out. The bill was $30.00. I gave them a cash tip in the jar. Signed the cc receipt for $30.00. They charged another six dollars on the card. I called them about it. The gal was not helpful at all. She hung up on me. My advise is to pay cash

Check your bill carefully. My bill was padded $2 extra. When I brought it up to the waiter/?manager, I was told the extra charge was for different mushrooms. (The mushrooms were as stated on the menu--not different.) I told him I wanted to pay the menu price and that I didnt order different mushrooms and should not be charged extra. He continued to argue with me and finally, begrudgingly tossed a dollar bill at me. My card had already been charged at that point, so he still shorted me a dollar. Dishonest business.

Probably the best Chinese food in Sonoma county and I am a very picky Chinese food person. The food is fresh and mostly natural. The meat is real and tasty. The staff is very friendly and the service is great as you would expect. The resteraunt itself is very clean with a pleasant atmosphere. Even the bathrooms are actually very clean which is pretty important. Youll see real Asian people actually frequenting here so you know its good. Oh and the prices are great! 2 thumbs up guys!

The sweet and sour pork and chicken were good but my to-go containers could have been filled to the top they were only filled 2/3full, but not the noodles or rice they were well packed! This is actually my favorite Chinese restaurant in Santa Rosa. They have the BEST walnut prawns Ive ever had, and its the one thing I order every single time. The waiters there are very nice, the restaurant is decent looking, they dont have a stupid tv which makes me so happy. Im honestly tired of walking into a restaurant and seeing a television tuned to CNN or sports-ball. I come here to eat. Let me eat. They do :)

Both of our chow mein was, in our opinion, extremely bland - as in no flavor at all. The crab rangoon had a miniscule amount of filling. It was all crispy shell with no filling to speak of. I do appreciate that you can order orange chicken with sauce on the side. The chicken was crispy but the orange sauce was again, very bland in my opinion. I ended up reheating it with a little red pepper flake trying to jush it up. We ordered this for New years Eve and frankly we were a bit disappointed. Friendly service delivered quickly -those are some wonderful qualities but for the price, in our opinion, its just not worth it. Bland is the word of the day in our opinion.

So, just now, I left this restaurant. Having placed my walk in order at 11:55 am. The service is horribly slow and what really doesn’t sit well with me is that I watched a call in order and a guy that came right after me get their orders before me. So not cool. And, you know, I’ve know this about this place. And, that’s why I haven’t been there literally for months but, I was too lazy not to drive a little bit farther to have my meal prepared in a timely manner, a friendly smile on the other end of the counter & NOT have a server tell me that my order will be ready in a minute when they haven’t even started my order. The onions were clearly the outside skin you would typically toss out and just as a heads up no rice comes with the 10$ entree. We will not order from here again.

Clean establishment, much better than the Chinese restaurant that previously occupied this location. However, I was not pleased with the food or the wait staff. We ordered vegetable chow mien, vegetable egg foo yung, and mushroom tofu. All three dishes were bland and had a ton of bok choy added as a filler. Normally when I get Chinese food I expect a noodle dish like chow mien to have a decent amount of noodles, but this plate had literally 50% filler. On top of that, the waitress returned to our table 8 times in the 40 minutes we were there to ask if everything was okay. It was border-line harassment. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
