We went to China Moon for the first time and thought everything was delicious. The portions are generous. Flavors were yummy and the brought us extra dishes to try. Really enjoyed it, restaurant is clean and staff was so kind and amazing!! Chefs did a good job. Wish I had more photos but we ate everything. Pic if fish and icecream macaroons. Sesame chick was good.

We had dinner here on Friday evening and it was our first time at China Moon. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious! The shrimp was fresh and delicious and the pork fried rice was very flavorful and light. The chef came by our table to say hello and the staff was friendly and very professional. Such a breath of fresh air from so many restaurants that dont have their act together! Compliments to the ownership team! So happy we finally found the BEST Chinese restaurant in Orange County.

China Moon restaurant is the one of best Chine food restaurants in Orange County. Ive visited both Orange County and Los Angeles Chinese restaurants. This restaurant is the best Chinese food as far as I know. I ordered their orange chicken which is the best orange chicken Ive ever had. Also, the staff is very nice. Theyre very helpful. I totally recommend the restaurant.

I read stellar reviews before getting my hopes up that this may finally be that elusive good Chinese food restaurant near Mission Viejo I have been desperately seeking.Nope. Disappointed yet again.First: it’s 30 minutes away. I ordered delivery; paid for delivery and tipped the delivery person. Nope. I had to come get. No refund was given and I wasn’t given my delivery fee nor was I given my tip. Where’s the justice?I ordered the BBQ RIBS. So tough, I thought they might use them to pull teeth. The BBQ sauce is one of the ones found at Albertsons I think. There’s lots of meat on the bones and between your teeth along with all the sugar from the sauce. Waaaaay to tough, stringy, sweet and definitely not worth the effort.I also purchased Kung Pao chicken. Where’s the heat?Look at the picture. There’s all those chilies and no flavor? How did they do that?Added scallions and still no taste? I gotta say that’s some skill set to magically take the flavor right out of a hot red chilies and onions. They should give up on the restaurant and become magicians.On a better note, the brown rice was ok.The Mad Eater

Stopped here for a friends birthday. We immensely enjoyed the Spring rolls, and a bowls of Sizzling Rice soup on a dark rainy OC day. Our server did an amazing job and was extremely attentive.We strongly recommend and look forward to visiting again soon.

One of our familys favorite restaurants! Not too many great Chinese restaurants in southern OC, but this one shines! I am not a fan of wonton soup, but I really like and enjoy China Moons. Their seafood is always fresh and amazing as are pretty much all their meals.

Our first time at China Moon tonight and what an exceptional experience it was! We loved it so much that we plan on driving down from North OC for future date nights to eat here! Everything was great, from the lovely ambience, great service (thank you Sandy!), fresh ingredients and delicious flavors, to just feeling cared for (this was also clear from how many regulars/locals streamed in with happy greetings and excitement to order their favorite dishes, that’s when you know a place is loved by their community). We had the Shanghai dumplings (so juicy and fresh, I would definitely recommend this for your starter), Shrimp Fried Rice (this was honestly the best shrimp fried rice we’ve ever had and we gobbled it up, I wish I knew how to make it this good lol), Ma La Beef (the beef was cooked perfectly along with a variety of yummy veggies, great flavor all around), and my absolute favorite dish was the Roast Duck (crispy skin and flavors that brought me back to happy childhood memories eating savory roast duck with my grandmother). Thank you China Moon for a wonderful evening! (And thank you Vanissa & Jonathan, you run an amazing restaurant that I can tell so many people love and enjoy!)

Great people, good food, but way nowadays too sweet or over salted (too much soja souce) and overpriced. Presentation on old salad leaves, generell touch and feel not as it used to be, overcooked aged broccoli, appetizers served without sauce, had to ask for it, veggies drowned in either oversuggared or to much soja sauce.Certainley hard working people, some are sweet and nice, others act entitled, from once awesome place to mediocre, but high priced, esp. frozen seafood. Chicken lo main (basically noodles w/ some chicken for 10.50 see picture).Used to be really fresh and sparkling presentations. Expect for that price (approx 100 for four) more focus on fresh looking presentations, fresh salad leaves, balanced sweet and sour, fresh not overcooked veggies. Go there because of kids like for memory lane. May try it one more time.

Enter at your own Risk!! We were welcomed to the restaurant with a happy smile but left with a bitter taste in our mouths. When it came time to pay, the server was very rude because she was not satisfied with the tips we left. She was very rude and unprofessional!! She made a scene in front of the of whole restaurant and said that if we did not want to leave a good amount of tips to just get the food as take out and not eat at the restaurant. Excuse me but we are from out of town!! HER ATTITUDE WAS NOT CALLED FOR!! I know tips are an appreciation of how we were served BUT I did not know that there HAD to be a specific amount you were FORCED to leave. They don’t know the economy struggles of each family and not all families are in the same economy level. Expecting more than that family can give is being UNFAIR!! I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK!! And here is your tip, don’t be treating your customers with disrespect because soon you won’t have any. You have lost us for sure!

We visited this place for the first time craving some Chinese food in evening, and were thoroughly impressed. First the food, was excellent, full of flavor, meat cooked right, veggies crisp, so were noodles and wonton soup. Service was excellent we had multiple people coming up and making sure we are well served as well serving us with presentation. Out server Shu was very attentive and making sure we have great experience. Price was great especially with this economy. And vibe was excellent as well can be a date place easily. Beyond expectations. Tried China Moon for the first time on Christmas eve. Ordered takeout online with a 5:15pm pick up but once I placed the order, it switched it to an 8:30 pick up instead. Waited for the restaurant to open to confirm my pickup time. Although they were extremely busy, they graciously accommodated my original pickup time. Ordered house fried rice, mushu beef, lo-mein, Mala chicken, NY egg rolls, and crab wontons. Everything was absolutely delicious from the first to last bite. Definitely going back for a dine-in experience and will continue to enjoy take-out. Well done!

Update: Cant say enough good things. Chef Jonathan is always improving their masterpieces and theyve managed to make their excellent Peking duck even better 😲This is still our favorite Chinese in the neighborhood! The Peking duck is SO delicious and I love the hot and sour soup, the rainbow shrimp, egg rolls, even the classic lo mein. Better yet, the staff are always so friendly and professional and the atmosphere is a lovely balance of upscale casual. Definitely give them a try if you havent yet!

Found out about this restaurant in OC Register Top 10 restaurant in Orange County. Me and wife checked it out tonight and we met the manager and owner. The service was awesome. Fast and very helpful! Didnt have time to take a picture of the food I was so hungry and it was so delicious.Since it was my first time here I wanted to give myself a full experience wine, filet dish with brown rice, a bit of their home made chili oil (added a wonderful amount of heat without taking away from the flavor of the meal!). Then topped it all off with an ice cream macaroon, overall it was fantastic.I had great service and friendly staff. I cant wait to share this spot with all my friends. These guys are willing to get your food to a point that you decide it is perfect.I came when it didnt happen to be too busy so I sat down right away (by myself), but I dont see why there isnt an hour wait to get in here, excited to see the next dishes I will try here.

Lucy and the entire China Moon staff rock!!!! I was able to call ahead and reserve 3 orders of Peking Duck for pickup the next day. Lucy was extremely nice and patient on the phone when I called, and helped me figure out exactly what I needed to order. Everyone at China Moon was incredibly kind and welcoming when I came to pick up my order. The duck (a surprise mini-feast for my Cantonese mother) was beautifully cut and presented, was expertly wrapped to go, and most importantly, TASTED AMAZING. We cant wait to come back! Excellently prepared and served Mandarin cuisine. The Sizzling-Rice soup is a family favorite. The Peking Duck was perfect with either crepes or buns. The Fish in Black Bean sauce is wonderful and the Low Mein was very tasty as well as the BBQ Pork with Snow Peas. All dishes arrived hot and good portions. Get there early for the Peking Duck. Its worth the trip.

Hidden gem. I am picky with Asian food and this place is on point with Chinese food. Food came out hot af and good. Duck was just right with good amount of meat and fat. We went to China Moon for our granddaughters graduation dinner. She picked the restaurant. None of us had ever eaten there. There were 7 in our party. Each of us ordered something different. Ordered vegetable fried rice. While I waited for my order, I saw a person in the back came to the cashier with the to-go container (probably was my order), the cashier looked inside the container, talked to the person that came from the back & took my order back then soon came back telling me my order is ready. Got it home, started eating a bit then I saw pieces of chicken in it. Im thinking they probably made chicken fried rice then realized I ordered vegetable fried rice so when they took the order to the back, they must have picked out the chicken but didnt get all of it. Im giving it a three 3-star because I called the restaurant to tell them what had happened & I think the cashier felt bad for it, or at least he sounded like it. I know mistake happens but when you dont eat meat & you see it in your dish, its not cool. Overall, the employees there are very nice everytime I go there.

This is our go to Chinese food place. The food is amazing, we highly recommend the steamed dumplings. The country garlic prawns and rainbow shrimp are delicious. The pictures on the website were very true to life. The chef came out and talked with us and the portions were large. The cook has training from his father who was from taiwan, if i remember correctly. All we ordered was delicious: kung pao chicken, yuxiang eggplant, cucumber salad and Mongolian beef. I lived in China fir many years, my only partially critical observation is that the Sichuan dishes didnt taste like they were made by a Sichuan cook. They were really good, though. I really enjoyed it.

They don’t put enough protein in their portions .They cut one scallop into several pieces and serve in their seafood plate .Usually seafood restaurants put whole scallops in the seafood plate .Also they don’t put enough beef in their beef nodules .Their price is not reasonable for the amount of meat they provide in their portions.I hope their manager will take customer feedback into consideration to keep their customers.

I ordered hot and sour soup, crab wontons, spring rolls, orange chicken, chicken lo mein and sesame chicken to go for my family. The hot and sour soup has an added herb no Chinese restaurant puts in it -- maybe taragon? It was awful and disappointing, because this is typically my favorite soup. The wontons and spring rolls were lukewarm. None of the entrees had any liquid or sauce, pretty much dry. The orange chicken was tasty, but still needed some sauce to go with the rice. The sesame chicken didnt look like any Id seen before and certainly didnt taste like it, either. The chicken lo mein was actually very tasty and had a bit of sauce clinging to the noodles, so they somewhat flavored the rice ... sort of. I only received one container of rice for all three entrees. Not enough!And they sent me home with ketchup. Not sweet/sour sauce ... but ketchup. Im from Kansas and just moved here last year. So ... maybe this is a California thing? Dont know.Although, the staff here is very friendly, I would strongly recommend that you avoid this Chinese restaurant if youre looking for quality and quantity.On the other hand, I would highly recommend Kaleyard for quality Chinese food at a reasonable price. I just had this delivered a few days ago and it was delicious.China Moon ... well ... it was a huge disappointment.

We had a 80 year old disabled guest who had at this time walked in to be seated. She was told to go stand outside again in the cold even after the table was ready.The Beef with Broccoli barely had beef. See picture. The Tofu With Vegetable was a good size. Combination Crispy Noodles was okay. ALL THREE had the same base which was being drenched in Soy Sauce. This was not authentic Chinese food. It was okay at best, if you are hungry like we were. Had we driven a bit further to Westminister, we could have enjoyed a great Chinese meal.The Manager Shu doesnt seem to understand how to run the place. Its too disorganized. People stand around outside clueless what to do. Sandy, our server was very friendly and took care of us. Eduardo, the runner was awesome. Very attentive and polite.If you are hungry and craving for Chinese food, this might work, but Chinese food isnt anything with Soy Sauce poured all over it. Each dish has its own flavor, texture and the combination of those flavors is what makes for a great Chinese meal. I didnt want to ruin their overall score, so I gave 4 ⭐. Tastiest Chinese food Ive had in OC. Most Chinese restaurants in OC have diluted authentic Chinese into bowls of noodles and sugar laden dishes (e.g. Pickup Stix). China Moon seems to resembles what I was accustomed to eating in Chinese eateries in Monterey Park. I highly recommend it, and fir shrimp lovers, the Rainbow Shrimp dish is a must!
