2023-05-13 19:12:58After living in Shanghai for years and coming home to the Bay Area - I’ve been missing these flavors. Up there with Great China - this gets my vote for the best in the East Bay.Szechuan peppercorns FTW 🙌🏼

2022-10-16 01:17:38Nice environment and service. Not that authentic in some sense but still tasty. The menu is large so it can be a hit or miss when ordering…My favorite so far are the beef stew noodles and tea tree duck

2017-07-03 17:12:13Food was right below average to me. Pretty pricy. Service sucked. Really loud. Beautiful inside. Rundown or old looking for outside. Host was friendly. No one else smiled or had etiquette or courtesy. Server forgot beer, no apologies. Servers & busers all seemed unhappy. Ive only been here twice. I honestly dont really like the crab either since Im comparing it to other places. When its slow youll probably get better service, thats what happened the first time. Oh, another plus was we were in & out of theres pretty fast. You really dont want to stay longer unless you like frantic, loud crowds of people that are all over the place. I wouldnt plan on coming here again.

2019-10-17 01:40:57The very best! I crave their pork shoulder, And eat here at least once a month. Bernie Sanders also ate here on his East Bay campaign swing. It’s all so good and authentic! Garlic eggplant and walnut prawns my favs.

2023-06-13 05:37:10For 4 people the check was $120 for soup, 2 appetizer, 2 Dim Sum, soup, 2 mains and a side. There was a generous amount of food,. Green onion pancakes and chive turnovers were both wonderful, we enjoyed the fish and tofu dish. The staff was friendly and attentive.

2018-12-10 02:39:11Complimentary pickled cabbage & tea. Excellent. Servers were helpful but not intrusive. Authentic Chinese cuisine. Everything was DELICIOUS. Not greasy or over seasoned. Perfect.

2017-08-08 08:46:27At the moment of eating, it was amazing. Very tasty, great service, nice atmosphere. We ordered the pork shoulder and a tofu veggie soup. Then when we got home we were super dehydrated and had a crazy msg hangover the following day. That means dizziness, more dehydration, an elevated heart-rate and the inability to sleep comfortably and think straight. I want to give this place 5 stars bc it was so well-cooked. But the amount of msg (or whatever aftereffects of the food that night) made us sad. The only thing wrong was the msg.

2017-10-14 14:37:02As a Szechuan native, I can say that this place has the best Szechuan food I’ve ever had near Berkeley. Just have a look at the red chili oil and the dried chili on top of the soup. They look spicy, but they do not taste that spicy at all! It’s the secret for Szechuan food. All you feel is that you want more and more! Definitely will come back!

2020-03-27 14:03:24This Szechuan Cuisine and Dimsum restaurant is comfortable and packed with both local and Chinese people. The servers are Chinese and they are so friendly. The food portion here is huge, so that it really suits for sharing among 5 - 6 persons. If you come with family or in a large group, you could order several dishes to be shared together. Since I only came with a friend here, we only ordered two dishes, and GUESS WHAT.. We cannot finish it all and ended up in takeaway. Here are what we tried :水煮鱼片 / shui zhu yu pian / Spicy Szechuan Boiled Fish Fillet (USD 15.95)The soft fish on the plentiful of mala seasoning, dried chili peppers, chili powder, oil, garlic, and spring onions.泡椒鸡块 / pao jiao ji kuai / Szechuan Pickled Pepper with Diced Chicken Breast (USD 13.95)The fried diced chicken breast with a lot of Sichuan peppercorns, oil, sliced dried chili, and spring onions. Be careful with the Sichuan peppercorns. They are small and could hide among the other. They are the source of spicy taste. And do not forget to eat the dishes with the rice, too. I chose the brown rice for this lunch.

2022-05-07 02:28:42This establishment is cheap!!! And will scam you on orders to go…if you desire to get your money worth on the foods paid for seek another establishment.soup was cold and this dish string beans and shrimp was only enough for a child to eat. This good to know I will not give this misconception another opportunity to rip me off again.due to Covid being on the rise again no establishment should be patronage…
