Gosh where do I begin.I ordered food off of Chow Now because I received a flyer in the mail and though, why not try something Local. Ordering food was fine I ordered a family meal with orange chicken, orange beef, plain fried rice and wontons and then, a side order of egg flower soup and chicken chow mein.I get a call from the delivery guy that I NEED to come downstairs and get my food, no big deal, people get lost in this apartment complex all the time, so I go downstairs with my 8yr old to pick up the food from the driver.Upon meeting with the driver, he starts telling me that why did I leave him such a small tip, becoming argumentative and super hostile, he scared my son so we went back inside. On TOP of that, I got inside and the rice is missing.I send a complaint through the ChowNow and they call me to ask what happened. I repeat everything and they get me on a three way call with the manager of the restaurant, Ricky.Ricky was not rude, but didn’t really seem to want to lose any money. Our conversation consisted of a lot of awkward silence and “oh I’m sorry, really? Are you sure they forgot the rice? The driver was probably upset because it’s been a busy day. If you want I can re deliver the rice (which would have arrived well after dinner) or I can refund you the cost of a fried rice. “I opted for the refund because obviously, why should I pay for something I didn’t receive. Furthermore, we get off the phone, my family sits down to eat and all the food is super super oily/greasy, like they were in a rush to get it out and sent it out straight from the oil to the plastic containers they came in. No one ate their food, so again, not only did I waste my time waiting for the food, I got a hostile delivery person and my food order wasn’t complete on top of the food not being good.It’s disappointing, and literally money thrown away because we had to throw all the food away. I won’t ever order from here again or recommend this place to anyone.

I had the chance to try the orange chicken and chow mien, they were delicious and steaming hot. Excellent customer service and the amazing food will leave you wanting more. Definitely recommend coming here for quality Chinese food.

Best Orange Chicken I have ever tried comes from China West Express. I have tried other items here and did not enjoy them as much as the Orange Chicken. The Orange Chicken is delicious! It is juicy and tender chicken. I could eat it everyday! The steamed rice or fried rice is a nice pairing with the O.C. dish. I recommend everyone try the Orange Chicken!

I can only give this place 3 stars because it is overpriced based on the portion sizes. The food taste and quality were OK, not great. I can say this because I am Chinese and know what good quality and good tasting Chinese food should be.So, lets get back to the portion sizes. My basis is for just slightly more at a sit-down Chinese restaurant, and there are plenty in Irvine, the portion sizes and quality, taste, and presentation are overwhelmingly better.I decided to try this place because inflation has caused price to go up everywhere and was trying to save some money. Since this place is primarily takeout and their prices were just a little less, I was hoping to find quality Chinese food at a decent price.After receiving my food, I realized why their prices were a little lower than traditional sit-down Chinese restaurants nearby. The portion size is significantly smaller. So, the slightly lower price and lower quality is achieved by drastically reducing the portion size for all of their food.Their profit margins are huge based on the portion size, storefront size, rent, etc. when compared to a traditional sit-down restaurant with waiters/waitresses, tables, cleaning, dishware, etc. I know this because Ive been in the restaurant business.Im not trying to bash this place but, to me, its definitely not worth the money for what you get. Im just looking for a fair and reasonable amount of food for the price being charged. As I said the quality and taste were OK, not great, which is acceptable if the portion size matched the prices they charge.I wont be recommending this place to anyone not, will I ever go back.

Please please please wear your masks properly when handling plastic food utensils! Spicy items were not spicy and extra extra spicy item had no pepper at all. This is the 2nd time our orders have been incorrect. Will have to keep looking for our go-to Chinese restaurant in Tustin.

Fried rice, never steamed rice. Weve been ordering from CWE for over two years now. Always good. Always quick. (Five stars. ALWAYS.) Always get the (for premium extra charge) fried rice w/entrees. Steamed rice is starchy lumps. Not good. Yesterday, $100 order, the fried rice was just starchy brown lumps. Not good. We will still order here again, but if the fried rice is still starchy lumps, we will have problems.

They dont make egg foo yung anymore bummed. Singapore noodles are good imo needs a lil more sauce. Chicken & shrimp best proteins for this dish. House garlic noodles are a thumbs down for me. Too sweet. String beans 3 delight was good also the combination of meats paired well with the flavor of the string beans. Broccoli chicken was OK. Pet peeve, I dont like the fact that you place an order and have to ask for condiments but thats life. Didnt get anything but a fork with my garlic noodles. Ive been ordering from CW a little over 15 years off & on. In conclusion theyre solid place to get fast Chinese food from with decent flavor.

Ordered catering fried rice, chowmein, and orange chicken. Orange chicken tasted old and hard you cant chew it my guests complained about how hard the orange chicken was. Fried rice was dried and hard did not taste fresh but chowmein was good. Only problem we all had was....... Everyone got food poisoning... The end of story! Do not order catering from here! It will not be fresh and you will all get food poisoning.

Garlic shrimp is a dish that is very hard to come by in Chinese restaurants, but it IS served here. They make it so hot and so fresh! The chow mein only has noodles and not much cabbage like elsewhere, so its a little different but its OK. The dining room is quite tiny here so pickup orders are quite advisable especially during busy times. I used to have to travel so much further from my home to get my favorite dish but now that CWE is here in Tustin I can get it closer to home😋

Short version-- excellent food, quick service, competitive process, dynamite customer service.Long version -- Went to Rockin Jump for my sons birthday. The gf and I wanted to eat, so I searched the area and found these guys, which was nearly around the block, literally 4 mins on the GPS.Started to order online for pickup and there was a coupon for free eggrolls with a $25 purchase, just enter a promo code. Code wouldnt work, so I dialed up the restaurant and spoke to a gal who gave me to a manager. She said, No problem, give me your order, Ill honor the promo.Ended up getting the shrimp fried rice, wor wonton soup, egg rolls, spicy fried calamari, cream cheese fried wonton, & chicken chow mein. Whole shrimp in the rice, nice size and actually spicy calamari, seriously cheesy fried wonton.... The food was excellent.And the gals promise? Honored. Not that it was expensive at $4 and change, it was that she honored the coupon and made it right, even if I couldnt finish ordering online.Would totally recommend to anyone looking for good Chinese food. And the quantities were a decent size too.

Worst Chinese food Ive ever had. It took an hour to prepare and was delivered cold even though it arrived on time. I would rather go back to eating military food and risk the chance of getting salmonella than attempt to digest this food again.Im not trying to be hurtful because I love food, however, Ive never felt so sick while eating but I hate wasting food and so I powered through my nausea.

I have been here twice, the first time several years ago. This is not a hole-in-the-wall place. It is not a big name like Panda Express. My sister and I went there for vegetable chow mein, chicken fried rice, sweet & sour soup & a few cans of soda. The food taste & quality here is outstanding. I cant wait to come back & try other menu items. This place is so worthwhile.

The food is always tasty here. They make it fresh on order. Its in a strip mall where the area is not the best, but with this little gem, looks can definitely be deceiving. I drive all the way from south OC to order and pick up here. The staff are friendly too. If you want great Chinese food, come here.

The food was amazing! You can expect P.F. Changs quality at a good take out price. Atmosphere wasnt really comfortable though, only a few tables, canned sodas, and loud conversations from the staff. But I gotta hand it to them, the food was of excellent quality.

Not the worst but not as good as the other reviews would have you think. Food was bland no real flavor/taste. Ordered the shrimp fried rice and what I got was fried rice with shrimp. Meaning there were few shrimp and really large not bite sized as you would expect. Also I don’t know if I was expecting to much, just moved here from New Orleans and trust me Chinese food here is different.

I’m from Massachusetts where we have always been able to find amazing Chinese food. Moved to CA in 1988, and until I went to China West, I could only find good Chinese food in San Fran. China West is a little mom and pops place, exactly as it should be, and it’s delicious! You won’t be disappointed.

The fried chicken was gross and what was that red color on the skin??!! The fried rice was ughhh just too oily and over cooked. This is why I hate ordering Chinese food in Orange County. Food should not taste like this no matter what. Just because the options are limited, doesnt mean it should be poorly made. Not ordering from this place again. $30 bucks wasted.

The food was great. I got there lunch box Orange Chicken. It came with chow mein, soup and a drink for $7.99. Its the same price as Hong Kong Express but this is made FRESH. Truly a hidden gem. I will come more often.

Ive had success here before (not this time) SwSo chix (sauce on side) was tough... I only drove 10 minutes with it. Fried rice was not what I remembered and was a bit pricey for the portions. Ill give them another shot though

Terrible service . After an hour of waiting for delivery, the store days there is no order under my address even though I have a confirmation email with confirmation number. Then suddenly they find the order and tell me its going to be another 30 to 45 min ...I received a response from the owner using the rain as an excuse. If that was the case, I should have been notified upon placing my order. After waiting 90+ minutes, the delivery guy wouldnt deliver the food and the store stated that they had to wait for him to return in order to send a second driver to deliver the food. That is unacceptable. My family was left hungry and we ended up having to make a fast food run at 9:30pm. Your service and customer support are terrible.

THEIR ONLINE ORDER DOES NOT WORK. I have no idea why they dont remove this option. When you call to order also, they are rude and say I dont know and were working on it. They somehow had my name and email... But no order??? When asked they were NOT HELPFUL AT ALL.Update: after calling the location to cancel my order- they said i would get an email confirmation showing my cancellation and full refund. Not only did i never get that email, I called several (i mean a lot) times and got no answer. 2 HOURS later a delivery man shows up with the order. I then called several more times and finally got an answer. I made Felicia stay on the line with me until i recieved my refund confirmation.She said they SHUT OFF THEIR PHONES WHEN THEY HAVE TOO MANY ORDERS. This unassuming little chinese place has AMAZING food. 90% of Chinese restaurants open a can of pineapple and slap on a slice. Not this place. They take the time to slice up their own pineapple! Thats unheard of these days! Gold star for you! The shrimp fried rice has lots of normal sized shrimp. (Not little salad shrimps like most places) The veggies in the fried pork were perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crunch. Everything tasted super fresh and delicious. I was going to try the other chinese place 2 blocks away, but the lady was rude so I came here. GLAD I DID! You guys rock. Will be back! Dont change a thing. Loved it!

I came because of the reviews, I walked in to a slippery dirty floor, There’s small space to sit and someone’s left over plate that just sat there the whole time so we took our food to go (we wanted to sit) my wife’s compow chicken was soft and didn’t taste like chicken the fried rice wasn’t made with love I can see white rice in it and was over cooked and chopped up looking with no taste, my wife was very dissapointed the orange chicken I had was decent though, everything else was a fail $35

I had food there yesterday, it was horrible, I knew it had been cooked for 2 days, I got sick with severe stomach pain, their food is not fresh and they use second-hand meat, I almost ended up in the hospital and today I still feel bad. I will never return to that place.
