Went there today for lunch . I have the broccoli beef and that was tasty but the fried rice was really dry and plain and had no flavor .The fried rice is really half your meal . The egg flower soup was really different but really good . The food was hot and came out quick. The place has really changed over the years .Looks pretty old and worn out. For 13 bucks for lunch not sure Ill be back . Ive had better food at Panda Express .....

Literally the most tasteful food you will find in downtown or overall Vallejo. The friendliest of staff make sure you feel welcomed and your children smile with joy for all their attention and kindness. The food is delicious big portions as well. Overall a great place for lunch or dinner with the family.

The food today wasn’t so good. We had order of shrimp chow mein - barely any shrimp maybe 5/6, and it had no flavor.Sweet and sour pork was mostly batter and meat in it small.Fried rice was dry, really separated and hard like quality wasn’t good. It didn’t look or taste like fried rice.Mongolian beef isn’t so good either.I expected it to be better because of the ratings but not sure what happen today.

China Wok is a wonderful restaurant. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you receive and for the quality. Im a big fan of all of their tofu dishes (especially the Kung Pao Tofu). They have vegan, vegetarian, and meat options so everyone in your group will find something they enjoy. The staff are very kind and helpful. The atmosphere is very welcoming and comfortable. Definitely give this place a try if you’re in the area.

My brother introduced me to this place over 4 years ago and I have wanted to return ever since. Its 3.5 hours from home, so grabbing take-out or dining in isnt possible when the craving arises. Being in the area recently, presented me with the opportunity to fill that craving and I wasnt disappointed. I will say that it wasnt as memorable as the first time, but I chalk that up to many things, including not ordering the same dishes as before and the fact that my taste buds have changed a bit with age. The food was good, but the Mongolian Beef was the star of the show. Worth the stop.

What a disappointment ! This place use to be good but it’s really in a sorry sad state now. We ordered Cashew Chicken with extra cashews. Which is supposed to have the chicken cooked first, then the vegetables, then the sauce thrown in, and lastly the nut’s added. Ours was severed all cooked together in a brown glob. The extra cashews ( only a tablespoon) were served on a separate small saucer. We also ordered sizzling rice soup. It was served with the rice already in the bowl that was mainly broth. Everywhere else it’s served with the waiter sliding the rice onto the broth, so you can hear the rice sizzle as it hits the broth. Not here, it was just a large bowl of broth with some rice already floating around. I could go on about each dish we ate there but needless to say we’ll never go back. It was cheap, very little meat in each dish, small portions, greasy noodles, fried rice was rice dyed with soy sauce and really no ingredients to distinguish it as as fried rice. Don’t waste your money here.

Ordered salt and pepper pork togo. Got home as i opened the container the deep fried pork was covered in thick flour. When you bite into it your biting nothing but flour. I found a small piece of pork. This is horrible.

Located in lovely historic downtown, we dine in and take out, absolutely enjoy every meal, they use fresh produce and quality meat, I’m from Berkeley super picky ha! Ordered this through DoorDash and everything was disgusting. The wrapped chicken that I’m used to from Silver Dragon in Oakland or SF (although closed now) was absolutely flavorless and unappetizing. The wonton was soggy and gross. The noodles were indistinguishable from just boiled crud. Will never order from here again. Also I have 2 orders of clear looking wonton soup which shouldn’t be clear and I’m afraid to tasted it. Who runs this place and why haven’t they been closed by now? Here’s something to help, I first called to ask about Gluten-free items and the guy couldn’t pronounce Gluten-free which I was like whaaaaat? Done with this dump.

Best Hot and Sour soup, every time I get a cold it cures me! Love the staff, really friendly and professional. Beautiful presentation. It feels like a special occasion every time we go. Be prepared for longer than usual wait times, everything is prepared by a real person, not reheated frozen stuff like so many places. You get what you pay for.

I have eaten here twice, and I have promised myself to start coming often. I am a very healthy eater. Few Chinese Restaurants have this healthy of food. New owners, new menu. Service was good, food was decent. We had chicken kung pao, Hunan beef and Mongolian beef. I had brown rice, others had the white. The entrees were tasty. The Mongolian beef was a bit light on the beef. My brown rice was sticky. The only flaw in the service was dropping the check before clearing out plates. Not bad, I wont avoid, but I wont be rushing back.

The chef must have an exceptional palate and a great deal of experience with traditional Chinese cuisines as well as the locally available produce. The chalkboard specials are a reflection of seasonal, locally available, and sometimes organic produce. Nice little gem in Vallejo for some good Chinese food. Its not greasy, no MSG, its fresh, hot and priced right. Me and my family stop by on Sunday after Christmas tree shopping and picked up some shrimp fried rice, orange chicken and fried prawns. The orange chicken was absolutely delicious, the rice was very good and had about 7 big shrimp in it however the deep dried prawns were just okay. They were butterflied and not whole so thats what I didnt like about them otherwise everything was delicious.

You dont have to go to one of the big cities to get great tasting, reasonably priced American style Chinese food. With a service staff that is always polite and friendly China Wok has been a go-to choice. For years my friends and I have chosen China Wok for birthday dinners. We trust them so much well order our favorites (family style) and then say just surprise us with a couple of extra dishes and we are never disappointed.You owe it to yourself to try China Wok and find the best restaurant in Vallejo, and definitely the best Chinese food in Vallejo.P.S. I was saddened to see some 4 star reviews that when you read them are really 5s. When you take away one star it becomes a 20% negative review. I dont think thats what they meant to do. This is the first time I was disappointed with a dish from here. This has always been my favorite Chinese restaurant. However, I was did not care for the lemon chicken. It seems that the recipe has changed. Instead of the chicken being cut into pieces,it was cut into strips. That is something Ive never seen before.The tempura was a little too crispy and the sauce was on the bland side. I wasnt a fan of the fried rice,it was bland and lacked the usual vegetables thats included in the rice. The fried egg was practically nonexistent. I did appreciate that it was on a bed of cabbage. The soup,salad and fried wontons were delicious. I just wont be getting the lemon chicken again as I feel that I must of had the lazy version of it. The customer service was good as always.

Huge menu; TONS of choices. Was waited on by owner, who was very friendly. Food came quickly. Downside: decor. Has 2 rooms- kinda dark on the side you walk into. Overall, feels/looks very old/dated. Beautiful Chinese art prints as decor could be great focal pieces in a newly rennovated space. They should try: new paint! Remove paneling! Remove rug and replace with wood flooring or stone. (To owners: Fix the bump in the threshold between rooms, its a liability.)

This place (in my experience) just does it right. I went here for lunch for the first time, based on the reviews I read.I looked at their menu online so I told the gentleman what I wanted when I got there, the food came with in five minutes.I had ordered the kung pao chicken with a side of steamed rice, however I wish there as more chicken in the dish, and it was a little salty as someone mentioned before, but it was still good size potion and I was satisfied.Lastly, the building is close to the ferry terminal, and is a nice area to walk around if you are planning on catching the ferry after lunch.

This place is way over rated at best. Too expensive and piss poor unprofessional customer service. We came in on a friday night and noticed after 25 minutes of arrival the people sitting right next to our table was greeted by a third world asian woman in her late 3s and best guess she seemed to be the owner who overly catered to a colored male and a filipino female wearing glasses. She chatted with them for over 5 minutes and took their order. Meanwhile the two white girls that sat us never came over to our table to take a simple drink order and the third world asian lady (probably filipino/chinese) who was kissing up to the people next to us had their entire order served with in 10 minutes of their arrival. Wewaited over 25 minutes just to get our food served at our table. Will never patronize this place again. This place is dingy and has a third world pungent odor as if though their cleanliness is sub par.

Ive been going to this place for 7 years one day I had an incident with one of the cooks being very rude I told the manager sometime later I had another incident with one of the waitresses being very rude told the manager the manager blew me off and then a month or two later shes telling me that Im no longer welcome at the restaurant and she didnt want to deal with the complaint. The worst part about it they allowed me to wait the 10 minutes to be seated one of the waitresses sat me brought me water 10 minutes later here comes the manager talking about or not youre not welcome here

China Wok is hands down the most welcoming and deliciuos restaurant in Vallejo or surrounding areas. Not only is the food incredible and made fresh to order every time, but the staff goes out of thier way to be considerate, generous, and kind. They remember thier guests names and faces, and are wonderfully adept at customixing dishes to fit dietary restrictions. My roommate and I have particular diets, and Julia is always inventing new amazing dishes to let us try. They treat us like family, though weve only lived here a short while, and I see them treat all of thier guests with equal measure. The food at China Wok is diverse, fresh, and delicious, but it is the touching sense of community and good will that keep us coming back sometimes twice or even three times a week!

Often times, good quality Chinese food is hard to come by. This is due to the fact that there are so many you can go to, pretty much in any city. The usual end result? They all taste the same or similar. Panda Express doesnt count, just in case you were wondering. Sorry, thats a fast food joint. Its an OK one, but im not going to call their fare there chinese food. But back to what I was saying, so many Chinese restos are just a dime a dozen. Vallejo is no exception, of course. Fortunately, good Chinese food can be found here thats not just the average sorta what youre used to type of dealy. China Wok happens to be one of those places.A bit of a back story. China Wok wasnt always called China Wok from what I remember. Its located on Sacramento Street in Downtown Vallejo, where I spent 17 years of my life. I had only eaten at its previous incarnation once, the night after we moved to our little apartment right up the street. I cant remember how it was. However, I can tell you that the food today is really good. People are so used to greasy dishes with salty fried rice or overly steamed white rice. Or at least, thats what may come to mind when they think of typical Chinese food. However, the opposite is the case here. Dishes are freshly cooked, not greasy at all, and well seasoned. Rice, fried or steamed, is prepared just right. Steamed veggies arent a soggy mess, they still have a bit of bite to them. Food is given in a good amount as well, so they dont skimp on their serving sizes. This is just some feel good food right here.Service is always friendly, quick, and always reliable. Orders are taken quickly and the food comes out just a few minutes later, even for a nice sized party. Prices are extremely reasonable as well, especially the lunch specials. I think I really only have one gripe that I can think of. Sometimes the floor has this odd... I dunno... stickiness maybe? Its definitely odd to the step, but not really all that off putting as youre not going to be walking around here all that much.If you look hard enough, Vallejo has some nice little food gems. China Wok is definitely one of those places in my opinion. If youre ever feeling like some Chinese food and youre in the area, this place wont disappoint.

This is perfect for american-style chinese food. Not afraid to add heat to the piquant dishes, and both their chicken and seafood options arent soggy and greasy or burned to a crisp like most places.
