We found this gem thanks to google reviews. It was a Sunday afternoon, and this place is clean. Service was fast and food is scrumptious. Taste is fresh and portions are big enough to share. Price is very affordable comparte to the food quality and service. This is a restaurant we definitely come back.

So I have been ordering from here for probably 6 years, always the best Chinese food in the area.The dumplings are everything, and the hot and sour soup is too die for.And I believe that they may have a new chef, who has made a great restaurant amazing.Tonight I had a better dinner from Chins gourmet than my favorite lunch at Yang Chow.Just saying, well done, keep it up. Enjoy.

Family and I stopped by to eat. Everything we ordered from lemon chicken, honey walnut shrimp, honey chicken, Mongolian beef, pork chowmein, and pan stir fried noodles were all delicious. The service was fast and friendly. Definitely a must try!

Wow! Came from Palm Springs, looking for a pizza place for my sons pizza fix… decided to try this little place… wow! It’s beautiful inside. Our server was awesome and had a bright and happy spirit about her. Food was amazing and if I’m ever back in this area I will definitely stop by and refer people to this place! Thank you to the cooks and wait staff. You were all beyond great!

The soup this time was a congealing yellow blob of corn soup. Had a better soup last time. I was told its different every week. It was inedible.Lunch special of Schezuan scallops with mushrooms was not as spicy as last time. My companions meal was too spicy for her and could barely eat half of it. They Also brought both plated with fried rice. I questioned this and learned I could have had a choice but waitress didnt offer it. They raised their prices also since last time. The lighting was to dark. I had to go out in the lobby to read the menu. Food also came to table quite warm.

We ordered takeout. It was ready at the correct time. The staff is very nice. The food is delicious. Heres hopefully some easy feedback to fix and earn that fifth star. They use styrofoam takeout containers. Maybe a necessary evil. BUT the styrofoam containers leak all over the place. The food is so hot that it melted one container completely through and two others where partially melted. Sauces got spilled everywhere. The restaurant even wrapped the containers in plastic bags. Didnt help. Im surprised they havent gotten feedback before on this. Containers are ineffective.

3 stars for the food and a plus star for the service.Ordered steamed fish fillet, string beans and Pao Hu.The first 2 were good, Pao Hu is too sweet.Service is attentive, polite, gentle and not too much. They speak good English and Mandarin.I enjoyed the soft and elegant background music a lot.There are so many returned customers, it is a full house, yet surprisingly quiet thus enjoyable.Relaxed and loved...:-P Cant explain...

This place is great. They had a recent remodel which makes for a more intimate feel, if not a little too dark. The food is well done. As a chef, I appreciate the well made broth for the soup. Actually not having too many choices for the lunch menu is a sign that the kitchen is confident that their food is good. Portion size is perfect also. You have to ask for spicy if you like that, regardless of what it says on the menu.

Ordered dinner here on accident (I thought I was ordering from a different place with the same name). I did not regret it! Shrimp fried rice was great and the egg rolls were crispy and fresh tasting. Also ordered sweet & sour chicken. At first thought, it was odd to see the sweet & sour sauce on the side but it was a nice touch to keep the chicken crispy and not mushy, especially for a take out order!

Very nice environment. Clean and comfortable. I was next door getting my nails done and saw this new place. I looked at the menu online, so I already knew what I wanted. I ordered an entree and an iced tea. When the entree came out it, it was totally different. The meat was battered in a sweet and sour sauce and there were no veggies. The better I ordered had a stir fried meat and veggies with it. I inquired about it and the server quickly responded that it didn’t come with it. Long story short, I had to ask for my iced tea, and they discovered their online menu on their website doesn’t match their actual menu. I can’t speak to the quality of the food as I didn’t get what I ordered. I probably won’t be coming back. They should have comped my whole meal since it wasn’t anywhere near what I ordered. They comped veggies.

This is the Worst Chinese place in San Diego county.I used to be regular till I saw the Cok roaches running around.Once I ordered the Duck was cooked on the outside and frozen Inside. Also it’s a rip off place. I get sick once on theirs food.I don’t recommend it at all. Also very Rude Employees.

I was pleasantly surprised with Chin’s Szechuan. In addition to the quality tender cuts of beef the restaurant was very clean and social distancing measures were followed quite well with space in between tables.The food was super fresh and light. The seasonings were on point nothing was too spicy, although you have the option to add some kick if you’d like. I’ve definitely found my new Chinese place in town.

I have never eaten at Chins Gourmet, but I have ordered takeout there many times, enjoying their Hot N Sour Soup, and the General Tsos Chicken. Their food is tasty, and it is usually ready when I order online, and drive over to pick up. I will be back often.

Menu is very much improved, ingredients are now top notch. New owners? Ambiance and experience are very good. Recommend shrimp with lobster sauce, cashew shrimp and the shrimp fried rice! They will deliver on the La Costa Area for an extra $2.

Literally just ate my delivery. The food was good. There were no utensils or hot sauce. Not that big a deal as this is to be expected with delivery (sad, but the truth is the truth). However, as Im putting our food away in tupperware? Theres a hair in it at the bottom that wasnt ours. Gross.

It’s so bad! And I came here multiple times because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Forget it. It’s just bad. The lady at the front is never helpful and must not have any system. It’s total chaos. The food is greasy and not great. I know Chins La Costa is convenient but I can’t encourage others enough to look around for alternatives because there are other places that are doing a really good job. Try others!

We tried again...thinking maybe the first 2 times were a fluke. This place is so bad. I ordered food to go at 8:10pm, was told to come in 20 minutes. I showed up 10 minutes early and the order came right out. The fried wontons were stale, greasy and super disappointing. Those fried wontons had been around for a few hours or days. Ive never had stale fried wontons. I have scarfed them the next day or even 2 days later and they were still crispy. The handmade dumplings were rubery and cold and fleshy. The eggrolls were tasty because at least they had just been fried unlike the wontons but not special at all. The beef and broc was adequate at best. The last time we ordered I asked to replace the protein with tofu and they were adament there would be no substitutions...even though it would be cheaper for them. Lucky for them they have zero competition.

We ordered the shrimp lo maine to go and it was greasy. There were more noodles than vegetables. At almost $13 you would expect two fortune cookies...only one cookie for a two person entre. Overall, the flavor was good despite the grease.

Love and miss Peking Garden, but Chins Gourmet is a great place to grab some Ku Ting Crispy shrimp and fried rice. Lunch specials are great portions and inexpensive.My experience with speed of service has always been good and the food is always consistent.

They dont like you to make changes on your order but the food is good. They need to be more flexible and more generous and they are not for sure. Anything you want you have to pull out of it from them. Always when I go in the place is cooled and they leave the door open and they dont make the place warm and if youre not comfortable you cannot come back because you going there to get cold and I dont need to go and get cold I just stay warm in my home.

By far the best Chinese food in north county. They really understand how to add flavor to things, and haven’t fallen to the usual traps of “Southern California Chinese takeout”, aka look elsewhere if you want to save calories. If you want truly satisfying Americanized-Chinese takeout, order from here. The egg rolls and lo mein are my favorites.

Wish there was zero stars. These people are extremely rude. Make you wait 10 minutes to even talk to you while the waitresses go by and pretend you arent there. After finally asking why i was there they said my order wasnt faxed over to them. This wasnt just a lie but i literally received a cancellation text from them as shes telling me. Joke of a place and customer service is trash, forget even actually trying food. For $17 entrees you would expect better service than the local del taco.

The worst Hot & Sour soup I have ever had in my life. Not hot nor soup. Extremely bland taste. With beef inside, thats great, but wait, the beef pieces have huge chunks of white fat all over them. Really every piece is more white fat than beef. Really just one of the worst soups I have ever had. Not everyone wants to eat boiled fat for lunch.
