Absolutely wonderful food! Highly recommend trying if you are in the area. There a lots of options to choose from and you can customize your dish to suit your personal preference from ZERO heat to Super spicy. Ordered to go food and it was prepared and packaged wonderfully. It tasted amazing when we got it home. The restaurant is very large and there are a lot of seating options if you choose to eat in. Very clean and staff very friendly.

We celebrated my neighbors birthday today. The service was great. The food was fresh and delicious, and they didnt mind us just hanging out and enjoying the atmosphere. It was very nice. We look forward to going again.

Natalia is an outstanding server with a great attitude and wry wit. Dinner was excellent in every respect thanks to her and the very tasty food. We had walnut shrimp, garlic eggplant and hot & sour soup, all delicious! Plenty of parking & very comfortable dining room seating. We will be back again soon!!!

I had been driving past this place several times and I am glad I made the stop, finally. The service is phenomenal. The waiters are very attentive and helpful. The food is really flavorful and comes out hot. Very nice dinner and lunch spot. Will definitely bring the family back.

Superb food and great hostesses. We always have great food here. Tonight we had the appetizer Pu Pu Platter, then the moo goo chicken, and the honey walnut shrimp. People are always friendly and a good time to go is Saturday after 7pm.

I love good Chinese food, but sometimes its too commercial. Not at Chins. This place is the real deal. Great food at an affordable price. Nice atmosphere, too. There are several of them in San Diego County. My favorite is the one in Vista, but theyre all worth the visit.

This was by far the worst experience of take out. The order was never pushed through… so I had to wait over 20 minutes. I asked for hot sake while I waited 5 times…nobody ever got it for me. My kids and I waited at a table for 20 minutes with no server helping us at all. Everyone kept saying that the table I was sitting at wasn’t theirs. Then when I asked about my Togo order the young man asked for my name and disappeared for 10 minutes. I asked for a discount or refund for one of my items for the hassle. The women working there tonight started to argue with me and give me attitude in front of all the other guests. I could not believe the way I was treated. We will never go back.

The manager was very nice. He extended excellent customer service to me. I had a very large take-out order. After paying for extremely over priced, just awful tasting Chinese food. This was our second time buying a large food order here. We didnt like it the first time?🤔 That was a few years ago. We hoped it had gotten better. 💯 Wrong. Service has been fast every time Ive ordered from here. Food comes out great! Definitely on the pricey side though. I spent 31.74$ on the following order- spicy lo mein with beef chicken and shrimp and fried rice with beef chicken and shrimp. The portion could be better too. The food can be a little spicy if you go that route. I recommend staying at a level 2. It is delicious however. They also give a small side of white rice free if you spend over a certain amount but Im not sure what that amount is. I think the rice should be susbstitued for egg rolls if the customer would prefer that instead due to already purchasing fried rice. The rice isnt that great though. The fried rice is just white rice cooked in soy sauce. I prefer their lo mein noodles.

I LOVE CHINS! I always get the tangerine chicken! I know Chins is the best! Its my go to ok Christmas Eve after work!Dont wait to get something bad before you realize how much you love them! Only reason I tried a different place is I got off work late one night and my boyfriend had ordered from a different place because chins was closed. Needless to say I didnt know anything could actually be worse than Panda Express but I was so sad not be Chins. The only Chinese food worth eating!The service is always nice and all Locations are good! If you order like me on Christmas Eve order 2 hrs ahead for pick up and leave a FAT TIP! They are so busy!My go to order is tangerine chicken, my boyfriend gets the lo mein or fried rice and we always get the cream cheese wontonsGreat ambience ! In my opinion if you cant have chins skip the Chinese food night!

If youre looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant with great service, this is it! They have an extensive menu that was difficult to choose from. We ended up ordering a soup, walnut shrimp, Szechuan scallop, duck, and Szechuan eggplant with pork. All of the dishes were well made and absolutely delicious. The staff are friendly and attentive. They consistently anticipated our needs and made great recommendations. Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants in North County.

I dont like leaving a bad review - this is my 2nd one in the last week.I dont know what it is with some older asian waiters. They have a personality of a wet sock. Plus wearing a mask made it difficult for the deaf people in our group, who need to read lips.Prices have more than doubled. When was the last time their prices were updated on line?We had the lunch specials which ended up being $20 with tax. Explains why the place was empty.You do not get to choose your soup or appetizers. The soup was crazy salty....... sorry to say I havent even a clue what it was. Waiter would not say.The cucumber with dressing were good, walnut shrimp was good too. Rice needed something....... not salt!The only condiments was salt, pepper & soysauce.A garlic, peanut sauce or any kind of sauce would have been nice. But nothing salty.I would be extremely hesitant to come back to this restaurant. Maybe they had someone new making the salty soup & dull rice.Maybe just an off day?I would really like to have a choice over my appetizers.No substitutions allowedWont be back to endure the cranky waiter

Ive been here twice for lunch in the past 12 months and have been very satisfied with the food quality and taste and the service. Their lunch specials include soup or salad, appetizer, dessert, and nice portions. I had their version of Orange Chicken (it was called something else) and it was very good. The atmosphere is very upscale; feels like an expensive restaurant, but the prices were very affordable. I will return here for sure!

This place is 100% fantastic, I went in to order take out, after placing my order while waiting for my order the waiter came to me and asked if I liked cashew chicken, I said yes and he says to me that someone placed an order over an hour ago and still had not picked it up, he asked if I would like to have the order because he would have to just discard if, of course I said yes. I enjoyed my original order and enjoyed the Cashew chicken order. I get take out here at least once a month, the food is fantastic and the wait staff super.

Chins was aweful!!! Ordered a togo order xmas eve. Assumed it was going to be super busy. Given that, we expected service to be minimal but was not expecting it to be what it was. Dude who took our order was super stressed. Did not even ask about spice level or add ons (lost money there!). Super abrupt on the phone. Got the food. It was tasteless and horrible. Super over priced, too. When we came in to pick up the order, the resturant was not even that busy!! Maybe 10 tables, if that. It seemed that every staff member was letting one person manage the front alone. They were just standing there, watching one person stress ! No teamwork at all. Very disappointing.

Great place! Im from CT and when I go visit my sister we always try to make it here. It looks pricey but when you see how much food you get it is worth it. Food is great too! Went to the Vista location and ordered inside for an order to go. After about 25 minutes Im wondering why so long and went up to ask how the order was going. Welp apparently it was ready awhile ago but the lady I ordered it from decided not to tell me. I was literally 5 steps from the cashier and not a peep that the order was sitting there waiting for me. And yes it was cold by the time I got it home. Customer service gets them a 1 star.

Tasty Szechuan food with a covid safe pickup. We had never eaten here, so as usual we over ordered two sample a bunch of dishes. My daughter thought that the fried rice done three stars was too spicy. Son dug it though. All of the meat was well prepared, no gristle, no fat. Spices were well balanced. Portions were fair.

When you step in, you can smell the patina of the interior, a great sign of how long this place has been successful. I loved their egg rolls and shrimp lo mein. Perfect combination of flavors so all the ingredients shine through without overpowering sauces or salts.

I’ve ordered their food before but on uber eats and it was amazing it came out just as described. So I thought I give it a try and order outside of uber eats. So as I’m calling in my order I ask the same thing I ordered last time on uber eats and I ask for Soy Bean Noodles as Im ordering it in the lady cuts me off and say another dish that they had and I replied with “ no May I have an order of the soy bean noodles please” and there she goes again interrupting me as I was i was respecting myself. (I ordered them specifically because I can’t have any meat or fish I’m my food due to my weird acid reflex)While she was interrupting she said “if you don’t want then I’ll just take out the order “ she said in an annoyed voice I said you know what sure I’ll have whatever it was you said thinking that they had changed the name or something. Long story short the meat, fish and beef was not at all good and the order in service was horrible. Never ordering from there again.

Probably the best Szechwan food in San Diego County. We drive up from East County to enjoy their food and service a couple times a month. La Mesa Chins is also very good. Love their eggplant. By the way, Chins in Temecula (Riverside County) is our new favorite when we are up that way. Their dishes are to die for.

I always order the same thing when I eat Chinese...Mongolian Beef and some sort of fried rice. At the time of this writing, the Mongolian Beef is about $15 per order (as are many other dishes). Went with my parents and wife to this location from San Marcos for a Saturday dinner. San Marcos use to have a Chins, which is now a Chens. We found plenty of parking. This location looks like the typical Chins restaurant that my parents were expecting with the lighting and decor. We were seated immediately with menus. Our waitress was amazing and friendly. She made sure we were comfortable the entire time and made sure we never had an empty glass of water. We ordered Egg drop soup, Tangerine Crispy Chicken, House special Lo Mein, Beef and Broccoli, Kung Pao Beef and House Special Fried Rice. It all tasted as we would expect at any Chins restaurant. We look forward to coming back here again in the near future.

Not too good, as it turned out. What are the odds of finding a good Chinese restaurant these days in southern California? 1-20? 1-15? Somewhere around those numbers. Yes, there are multiple Chinese eateries to be found, that is for sure, but to be able to reach the creme of the creme?Chins Szechwan Restaurant was our latest hit and miss. Amid a fancy decor, and eagerly waiting waitresses, the place looses all credibility once the food starts arriving at the table. Yes, they do have an extensive menu, plenty of expensive dishes to select from, so for us dining in this establishment for the first time our impression in the culinary field was lukewarm at best.These were the letdowns in order of arrival: Assorted Won Ton Soup, $8.75 (serves 3-4). The color of the broth was a deep brown, unusual for this type of soup. When we read assorted won tons, we understood obviously incorrectly, that they would have more than one kind (how tricky the english language can be for the improperly trained). No, it was only one kind, and it had almost no meat, and the noodle or pasta part of the wonton, tasted almost undercooked, terrible won ton, which generally the wonton outer layer is supposed to be softer. Not this version. Broth, intriguing as it sounds being of deep brown color, was less appreciated once tried, average at best with specks of filmy fat on top? Shrimp content, 2 per person and we were 3, carrots, broccoli, snow peas, all customary inclusions in a wor won ton soup. 2.5 Stars.Then, instead of having to go a la carte, we chose an $18.95 per person, which gave several choices and also came with egg roll and fried shrimp, or fried beef dumpling and aluminum wrapped chicken (used to be paper wrapped chicken so very long ago). This appetizers were way below par, sad little affair. 2 Stars at the most.We each was entitled to one dish under this pre arranged dinner, that also came with Egg Drop Soup (small bowl, lukewarm in temperature, average...3 Stars. Can anyone tell we favor lots and lots of soup?). Selections of the ones available that we selected:Hunan Fish Fillet, a la carte priced $14.95. Bland, absolutely zero flavor, plenty of whatever fish they use, serve in a lighted cauldron that kept heating it more. Plenty of green bell peppers, mushroom, thickly cut onions, all soaked with these brown sauce very much familiar as one of their cheapest, similar perhaps to black bean sauce in color and texture. 2 Stars.Imperial Shrimp, $14.95. Medium size shrimp with very little flavor in the traditional see through thick concoction, that I could almost bet contains cornstarch, with peas and snow peas, and very al dente broccoli pieces. A little better this time, 3 Stars.Plum Tree Beef, $9.55. I could try to describe this dish, but I prefer to urgently skip it all together, for it is simply put: a sweet letdown. Inferior beef properly tenderized (oh yes, the Chinese will tenderize any hard meat, that does not mean it is quality beef because is soft, no Siree!), this one was a mound of one of worst beef, this side of the Potomac.Tea requested came lukewarm, almost cold. White rice came tasting old, like it had been under a heat lamp a little past its prime. Rice: 1.5 Stars, Tea: 1.5 Stars. Water, 2 Stars.Service in the hands of capable Diana, from Northern China, was a little better than average. 4 Stars. The price with gratuity included: $81+.We have gone to too many Chinese eateries, and most as of late, are a terrible disappointment. One is better off eating at home, instead of being the recipients of expensive and mediocre fare. The place at 7PM was almost deserted. Should have known better, but we did not, so we paid the price and left regretting having went in the first place. 3 Stars.
