CHO CHO SAN - THE ORIGINAL in Tarzana

This place is NOT fancy....and that is 100% ok!! The food is delicious, the service was fast and everyone was super nice. located in strip mall, no sign except sushi...lol. I kinda want to keep it a secret, but its too yummy. Enjoy!

Small but great sushi restaurant. The whole restaurant consists of a rectangular sushi bar where you are served by sushi chefs. Its not ideal for large groups because it takes time to get seated if they are busy.The sushi was great. The sushi chefs take their time preparing your sushi. They have a great selection of rolls from their menu to choose from. Prices are little on the high side but nothing out of the ordinary.

BIG SURPRISE…the sushi was really good! Service was great as well. We decided to give this place a shot after a long hiatus and will definitely be back. (I think there is a new sushi chef).

My family has been going here since the early 1980s when they had a proper conveyer belt and prizes for who could eat the most plates. Now it’s an above average spot with a good Halloween roll and rock and roll as well as consistentspicy tuna. Kinda expensive for what it is. Super tacky extra charges for ponzu or anything extra.

A local favorite with mostly a large sushi bar for seating almost like having a giant meal with strangers and friends all at once.Everything is made right in front of you and the rolls are some of the best Ive ever had. Portions very from roll to roll two rolls could be more than enough... then again three or four might be better.The veggie and avocado roll are my go toos however the veggie roll is pretty big (8-10pcs). The have some killer soy paper based rolls and a ton to choice from.They have some frozen desserts here including complimentary ice cream for check-ins through yelp.The parking can fill up fast (but seems to flow smoothly with traffic in and out), but you can find something as close as the IHOP parking lot if the lot is full or street parking is scarce.

First time here and everything was so good, I really loved The Spider hand roll. Ate 3 but it was so worth every dollar, If you dont like spending you shouldnt even drive by lol

I have visited this restaurant on March 30, 2020 for a pick up order. There is a lot of parking spaces. The staff were very helpful and very nice. They had of the food in a good manner. Delicious! I always enjoy eating here. Its a bit small, but the food and the service are great. Parking is sometimes difficult to find during the day, but there is plenty of street parking and even a parking lot behind the Tarzana Cultural Center, which you can use if you dont mind walking a little bit. Good place to eat alone (if you have to) and meet new people.

Been going there for the last 24 years, the staff are great, the food is always fresh, and the prices are not bad.I love this place, we often order to go.We eat their food at least once a week.Would recommend

If you want a classic sushi experience[small space and an intimate bar] this is definitely the place!
