Dont get the 口水雞 (drooling chicken) even though its free with 3+ people. It was disgusting. The chicken tasted almost raw despite having an overcooked texture. Their other noodles were good though, and the price is good. I liked the lamb meat in the lamb soup noodles, and my friends liked the big plate chicken and 豌豆麵. Their wood ear mushroom cold dish was also tasty.

So very good! We had the dan dan noodles, handmade chong qing noodles and the gele mountain chicken and all three were good, appropriately spicy and just a little numbing from the peppercorn. Absolutely delicious, we loved everything.

Wow. The Gele country fried chicken was delicious. A perfect blend of cumin, numbness, spiciness with each crisp bite. The cumin lamb noodles was good; I like the thin, hand pulled textures and the blend of green peppers complimented the noodles well.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - Pig Ear with Chili Oil has a nice kick from the chili oil without being too queasy. The pig ear has a nice bite and texture still. Braised Beef Noodle Soup had a really clean soup but it was a little bland. Came here after watching a Mark Wiens video. The store was empty when we came around 11am but it became full when we left an hour later. Service is superb too.Spicy fried chicken: We got this after seeing so many reviews recommending it. It was crispy, light, and not as mouth-numbingly spicy like I thought it would be. Its comparable to popcorn chicken but less salty, perfect for snacking and as an appetizer. I would say you can eat it with rice, but it was fine on its own.Sweet and sour vermicelli potato noodles: This was from Marks video. If you love sweet and sour soup, this is a good choice. I also love potato noodles in general. I liked the texture that the soy beans added. It was so easy to slurp down; its like you barely have to chew. It seemed like an endless amount of noodles.Youpo noodles: Classic, thick hand-torn noodles that felt like a bottomless pit. Its quite heavy; I feel like I could get full off of three whole noodles. I wish there was more of a balance in sauce and toppings on this because it felt like a carb overload. It was my least favorite out of the three items we got.If you come with 3+ people, you get a free plate of steamed chicken with spicy sauce. Super tasty!The portions are big. For a group of 3, we did not finish our two bowls of noodles nor our chicken. Luckily, the chicken made for a good road trip snack.All in all, everything about this experience was lovely. Excellent food! The twice cooked pork with rice on the side is one of my favorite dishes I’ve ever had. So comforting and tasty. The pan fried homemade noodles should be a controlled substance because they are highly addictive. Warm, attentive, friendly service. Be prepared for truly authentic Chinese cuisine - there’s nothing Americanized about this spot. Prices are reasonable and serving sizes are good. When I’m anywhere remotely near SGV, I make sure to stop here.

The quality of the noodles here is high. Although the Dan Dan dish was not my favorite version, it was still very good. Strangely enough i think I’d enjoy it more with a side of white rice. The flavors of the soup/broth are also good. I’ll come back and try something different from the Dan Dan noodles.

This place has some fantastic hand-pulled noodles. I ordered the #30 Chong Qing Handmade Noodles which had a fried egg, minced meat and bok choy $10.99 with a side of Rice $1.50 and it was delicious. The noodles and other ingredients tasted fresh but be careful to not to add too much red sauce as it is very spicy. Easy online ordering on their website and friendly staff. Free parking in lot.

Overall great experience. This restaurant offers authentic Chong Qing flavors. If you are a fan of the numbing spicy flavors, this is a place to be. I am vegetarian and I enjoyed the tomatoes egg noodles. The texture of the noodles is great - on the harder side if you are looking for something softer- might not be for you. It’s almost like undercooked but I think that’s just the style of the noodles. The cold jelly noodles was okay. The flavors are there but the jelly isn’t the best. They gave us the drooling chicken for free since we are a party of 6 - it has the same numbing spicy flavor.

Looking for Sichuan cuisine, look no further. Definitely one of the best Chong Qing Special Noodle in SGV. I have been here numerous times, their noodles are superb, chewy and springy, cook to perfection. It does come with the spicyness and numbness flavor. I always order the ChongQing noodle for myself and Scallion noodle for my boys. And most importantly, their prices are absolutely reasonable.

Amazing spot for sichuan food. The waitress was able to tell us which items could be vegetarian/vegan. They always joke to find a Chinese restaraunt if you’re looking to dine out on Xmas eve, well we did just that and will be back lolFor dinner we ordered cold steamed chicken as our appetizer then chongqing noodles, biang biang noodles, sour and spicy sweet potato vermicelli for our main dishes.The cold steamed chicken is addictive as the taste starts to manifest as you eat it. Each bite makes you come back for that spicy + numb that the dish brings. The chongqing noodles have just the right amount of spicy and numbness added to compliment the chewy egg noodles, bok choy, and pan fried egg. The egg bring balance to the spicy so I was conservative with eating it throughout the meal.The biang biang noodles reminded me of a dish I’ve had previously that stews tomatoes with eggs. The two ingredients compliment the spicy of the dish along with the doughy 1” thick noodles. We didn’t really care for the potato vermicelli in the sour and sweet dish unfortunately.Overall, great food for a great price. We ordered everything plus some drinks for under $36. The decor and restaurant are typical Chinese restaurant style so don’t expect any fine dining. Service is fast and responsive.P.s. I don’t recommend coming if you’re a vegan, have gluten issues or many dietary issues. The couple behind us had a hard time communicating with the staff as their diets were pretty restrictive and the staff was not able to properly articulate every ingredient.

Noodles are well made. Handpulled noodle is al dente. Like precious reviewer, we were also discouraged from ordering handpulled noodles. Waitress claimed that it would take 30 minutes. Why put something on the menu and discourages customers from trying it? I persist with my order and noodle came more or less with our other dishes 🤪.

Absolutely my favorite noodles in LA! I am a noodle fiend - so much so that in highschool my email was noodlesandsprite because those were my two favorite things in the world - so this is high praise.My go-to order is the Chong Qing Handmade Noodles. I LOVE the texture of the thick handmade noodles, slightly chewy and slippery. It pairs perfectly with the spicy, complex broth and ground pork that it comes in. I usually order milder spice so that my taste buds can handle it. Weve also tried other foods here and they were all excellent. The price really cant be beat either.

Food critic legend Jonathan Gold favorite noodle shop. Compare to MIAN, this is equal in quality but much lower in price and zero wait for table. While MIAN goes for a fine cuisine touch, this place feels more street authentic with no pretentious artsy decor, just hot and spicy noodle that leave you gasping for water. Also I give it high credit for clean bathroom and no nonsense but friendly service.

Its a challenge to rate this place. I didnt get to order the hand-pulled noodle because the waitress told me it will take at least 45 minutes for the chef the prepare it. So, I ordered items that were recommended by the waitress. Well, I found their noodle soup greasy and not very flavorful. Average service and price is good for noodles but not their main dishes. Overall, Im not very impressed and probably wont come back for awhile.

It’s probably one of the best place to grab a quick meal for people who loves spicy food.Their ChongQing noodle matches the taste I tried in Chongqing years ago.Best of all, great price. It almost made me to try everything on the menu there.One more thing: I don’t only serve spicy food, they also have non spicy noodles as well, which will be good for the kids.

Delicious food, HUGE portions. The restaurant is nice and quiet and small but had people in and out constantly. We asked to not make the food so spicy and they delivered without sacrificing flavor. Less one star, one of the waitresses must have been new. We had to ask for extra bowls quite a few times and got some wrong plates.Would come again.

We found this place on a whim and decided to try it out. You can request handmade noodles which were cooked perfectly and really delicious. What stood out were the dan dan noodles. It was one of the best dan dan noodles weve had. Portion was big enough for my teen daughter and I to share and have left overs.

Consistently great! My go-to is the Chongqing cold noodle with sichuan-style dumplings. Weve also liked the wonton w/ spicy sauce (these are served in a spicy broth whereas the sichuan-style dumplings are flat and covered in a spicy paste), you po noodle, dan dan noodle, and classic Chongqing noodle. The only thing Ive tried that was not up my alley was the biang biang noodle dish: the noodle itself was excellent, but I prefer more spice and less tomato in the topping (I recommend Xi An Tasty if thats what youre searching for). Seating and parking are reliably available. Bring kleenex and an extra water bottle if youre not sure how much spice you can take.

We tried the dan-dan noodles which were delicious but the handful of dried chilis and szechuan peppercorns was a bit overwhelming. Jiajiang mian was also good--nice chewy noodles.

I remember when I was an international student at Chongqing University in China, I loved Chongqing Somen (小面) so much that I ate it every day. So, I always stop by when I go to Chinatown. Because it contains bok choy, meat, and eggs, at first I thought it was Chunggyeong Somen, but the taste was okay. Of course, it is a little different from the local taste in Chongqing, but it is similar, so I eat it often.It is very delicious!The owner is friendly and I am satisfied with the service.Anyway, its the best!

Foreigners and Wai Guoren may like it, but if you eat the real Chongqing small noodles because of the name, you will be disappointed. The noodles are not alkaline water noodles but corn noodles. I ordered a bowl of noodles. When it came out, it was completely clear soup. You have to add chili by yourself... The only thing is that the price is okay, otherwise its not worth it. As someone who ran for more than 30 minutes to eat noodles, I was disappointed.
