I used to live in Fresno around 1990 and I miss this place. I went back around 2000 and had to stop by. Food is still great. Not sure if I will ever be back here again. If I do it will be the first place I will eat at. Pork fried rice egg foo young and chicken chop suey were my favorites.

Hadnt been here for a long while. Stopped by to grab lunch with my niece and a friend, since my friend had never tried their food. We all enjoyed our orders very much, the prices are very affordable and portions can feed two people with one order, but we were hungry so none of us really shared. She said she now has a new place to take her kids to when their in the mood for Chinese food.
I wanted to order 8 piece wings meal and was told that it takes too long. That tells you food is not fresh. Plus there a restaurant there suppose to cook !! Ran out of there quick and took my business Elsewhere!! Don’t eat there
Ate here for my entire childhood. Never have found a place quite as good, especially after moving out to Madera. Still eating here. The food quality has never gone down. Absolutely love it! And the service is great too. The main woman working the front is always busy, yet quick, and is always friendly.
Better than the fruit one! Me and my mom love this place. Been going since I was a toddler & they give you a lot of food for little cost. Spicy Garlic Chicken over white rice or noodles Thai style is my fave. The one on Fruit is ok, use to be just as good as this one back in the day until they went under new management and got a new cook I believe.
I love chopsticks! This place is one of those small, obviously family run places where the food is well above average and at very good prices. I love going here multiple times when Im in town. The helpings are huge, and the only thing that is disappointing is that their fried rice can be a little off, and their egg rolls dont have a lot of flavor. Beyond that, great food. I tend to get the combination chow mein, and their egg foo young is some of the best. The orange chicken is also amazing. The lady who runs the front is very nice as well!Definitely give this a place a shot as one of Fresnos hidden gems.
Ugh. I just dont understand all the 4 and 5 star reviews. My wife and I were staying at a local hotel near the airport and checked reviews for dinner recommendations nearby. This restaurant came up highly rated, and we decided to go for it. We should have read the 1 star reviews. The place is a dive. When we arrived I had second, third, and fourth thoughts. Bad neighborhood, the place looks like it should be torn down, and the inside was worse. I was ready to leave immediately and should have trusted my gut since it was going to have to deal with the food, but my wife doesnt like searching for food (shes a one stop shopper), it seemed popular with a number of people picking up food, and a local PD officer was picking up his order. Typically, if law enforcement eats at a restaurant its probably clean and the food is good. Well, maybe not in Fresno.Well, given the popularity, and having eaten at dives before and had good food we decided to place a take out order. I got the Thai Garlic Chicken, and my wife got the Ginger Beef. We probably should have looked at the food before leaving, but we just paid and took it to the hotel (We were in a hurry to leave the area). The containers seemed heavy and packed with food, but when I opened up the Styrofoam container what I saw was pretty gross, and mostly rice. I still cant figure out what was Thai about my Thai Garlic Chicken (there was absolutely nothing Thai about it), or ginger about the Ginger Beef. Both seemed to have the same gray/brown gravy poured over them. I seriously thought about not eating either dish given the appearance, but I tried a couple of bites anyway. My chicken had a strange taste and texture to it, simply put......very unpleasant, and I decided to cut my loses and not try the beef. Both had a gray/brown color to them. My wife did, and we quickly closed the containers and threw it in the trash outside the room and down the hall. Live and learn. Dont believe the hype about this place. Youll be disappointed. Read the one star reviews and believe them please.
The service here is great. Chop Sticks here offers take-out and dine-in. They have a pretty big variety of different foods. They have different specials, or plates, that offer various food items all together, at a discounted price than if it were bought separate. They also offer dinners, where you buy two of the same plates, at a fair price, resulting in quite a lot of food.

We got two huge plates of pork chow mein with sweet and sour pork. Yummy, under twenty bucks

The food is delicious and a lot of it. The price is great too. Have to drive some distance passing 3 other Chinese restaurants and its worth it.
Went for a quick craving, was not disappointed. Plates were a great size for the cost, meat wasnt fatty, sauce wasnt skipped, service was friendly and and despite the bad location and declining seats covered in duct tape it was nice and enjoyable. If you want a good hole in the wall for Chinese food this is one of the best places in Fresno. And Im really picky when it comes to Chinese food.
Been living in the area for a while and only been here a few times pre-covid and would get the pad tai when I craved it, never ordered anything else off the menu besides their egg rolls(which are huge). While in this Covid era Ive found myself coming here often for the special plate, just love the pan fried noodles. I always judge a place off their special plate and this one is great, noodles are crispy, veggies are crunchy and the rice isnt bland. Lady at the front desk is always very welcoming and friendly.
My family and I love this place. When my daughter was born. I started taking her while she was still in her car seat. As she start getting older everybody that works here always came out to look at her and her own special little plate. Now shes 15 years old and everyone that worked at chopsticks when she was little is still there. So the cooks always make her something special because they feel like shes apart of their family. Is as a family we always go to chopsticks for Chinese food. Chopsticks is the best in town, and the workers always make you feel welcomed. I bought chicken chow Maine plate from chopsticks on Olive and Chestnut the chicken was spoiled called and told them about it they told me that there was nothing they could do. Ive been going there for 3 years and this is how they treat one of their customers. If you eat there beware.

Ive been coming here for over 20 years and never have I found any place the whole world that has well balanced flavor, oriental, style, fresh, ripe ingredients, very old fashioned, stayed the same for decades, I normally recommend best made known plate, however this one is all! If one asked me what I buy it would be chow mein Chop Suey shrimp. This is an atmosphere that youll never forget specially considering its old fashioned family style.

I was looking for a Chinese restaurant that had Chinese chicken that was not breaded, cause years ago there was one in clovis but they changed ownership and never the same another on in fresno the same happen so I saw it on menu, asked ut sounded like the chicken I was looking for and yes with pork fried rice was very good only thing green onions on top is great, they dont put them over the cbhicken, but it was yummy!!!! I found what I was looking for....

The disrespect from the owner (the guy who cooks) just plain rude and unprofessional. God forbid you go and complain about your food or being charged for something you didn’t ask for the man screams and just plain embarrassing. We give you business and that’s how you treat customers. Be careful when you order and make sure you pay attention to your food and prices cause they will screw you outta anything they can . 👎🏻the lady up front has been there more then 20 years don’t tell me you don’t know how they make plates you’ve been there long enough to be aware ! Shame on this place !

I order a family dinner and in order to get the family dinner you have to order 2 of the same order and they gave me not even enough to feed the family, chicken was dry, sweet and sour had no flavor or wasn’t moist, shrimp was burnt. My son didnt even want to touch it. He couldnt stop chewing the same beef from there beef chow mein.

2022-11-20 15:10:27I use to live in this area many years ago. Moved up North. Recently moved back a year ago. I had a project I was doing for work on this side of town. I was about to pass up Chop Sticks. Decided to stop. Am I glad I did. Some of the other places I have been eating at the food not the same. Here I cannot begin to tell you how there flavor nor portions. Prices are very low as well. Seems like nothing at all has changed. Believe me I have been back twice now. Since my little stop. I will continue to make this long drive to get proper Chinese food. Thank you ChooSticks for staying true to flavor customer & excellence .
