This is some of the most generous poke I’ve had by far. The price is just like any other poke spot but more food. I Recommend getting literally anything. My family and I had different proteins and different sauces and asked for them to add all the toppings (which is included) and the three bowls tasted amazing.

They dont skimp which is great! I usually get three scoops because I often end up finishing all the toppings and have a ton of rice left. Every bite was tasty. $18,20 and 22 for the small, medium, large bowls. They have shave ice but we were stuffed after dinner.

Were talking FRESH! I got a small bowl and it was huge. Super fresh spicy tuna (my fav), ultra carefulness and cleanliness, this is the perfect poke place. Ive been to a few, but Choppa Poke is the best Ive been to so far. Giving it 5 stars.

In this area of Goleta there is not a ton of unique food choices, but Choppa Poke is one of them. This is a great stop for picking up lunch. Generous portions of protein, there are cooked and raw choices, and all the sauces are different and good. Service has been quick and they typically have all of the choices.The ambiance of the restaurant is basically what is expected from a poke take out spot. There are a few tables but it is nothing to write home about. I never eat there so cant comment too much. Drink selection is limited to only cans/bottles of coke.Make sure you ask for soy sauce or hot sauce if you get take out- I usually forget that!!

Came in Sunday evening and the place was empty. I ordered one large bowl. I had an unpleasant experience with customer service. The bald man was rude to me by rushing my order and and speaking in Mandarin to the other worker after I asked him to repeat what he said. I still have a tip and was kind to this man. I do not need an apology from the business but I think it’s important that potential customers know not to expect respect at this establishment. The food is fine but I will not be back due to customer service.

My first time visiting this restaurants was a nice experience. The person behind the counter was happy to provide me with recommendations regarding what is most popular, and explained all of the options available. The serving size was very generous, and I got over two full meals out of one large bowl.

Yummy. Half & half with cucumber, red onion, yellow tail, salmon and tuna....Elouise was excited for the octopus option on hers. Nice selection of fish, sauces and toppings. Loved the generous naked ginger. Great boba at the Sno-Crave located inside. Almond Milk Tea with Boba and Elouises Oolong Milk Tea with Boba and Lychee upgraded to an Xlarge because she got the second topping.

Food is OK..long wait because there is only one person making the food. Good luck if you have a group or even just 1 customer in front of you. I had better poke outside the area, but there arent many options in SB. The main reason for 2 stars is that the prices as of March 2022 are obscene: $20 with tax for a double protein bowl?! It better be a premium and a generous serving of fish for that price (which it wasnt). Wont be going back nor updating my rating until the prices go back to being reasonable (think at least ~half of that price, what it used to be).

Ordered 2 bowls on doordash and although delicious, not nearly as much food as we were expecting as compared to the pictures and not worth the $22 ish price point per bowl. Seems to be a common trend on food delivery, skimping on amount of food since customers are not there to argue in person.

Im new to the area and I have yet to find good sushi/poke. I really wanted to like Choppa Poke but theres some problems. The cuts of fish arent fantastic, and you get a combination of good cubed tender pieces, and some other stringy, chewy pieces. Overall quality is quite average, but better than some other places in the area Ive tried so far. For the price, its not worth it. 16$ for a medium bowl pre-tax is simply just not competitive and not worth it. I cant justify paying that price unless Im in a hurry.There are good things though: Toppings are free, even avocado! Thats pretty much it. I think its better than some other places in the area, but clearly this location does not have the freshest fish coming in, which is unfortunate for sushi lovers around here.

Best poke I’ve had. Miss it everyday now I’m in LA. They are so professional and clean. Their fish is really fresh so it has great texture and flavor. The sauce they have here is my absolute fav (chili garlic shoyu). The variety of sides is so nice and everything is super fresh, like they open an avocado up for you on the spot. The people are incredibly on point and hardworking.

Fresh fish, scallops, octopus... Quantity of portions more than adequate. Only qualm is the wide choice selection... and the slightly hurried serving approach. A bit like Subway, except that you dont know up front, what are sensible combinations.Servers are happy to make suggestions if asked. If you already know your preferences, go for it, but if not, watch a bit and then have the walk you through it.My personal fav is brown rice, house ponzu, mayo with yellow tail, tuna and octopus, topped with most everything. While my immediate assumption was that the fish would be old and left out due to the pandemic, I was VERY pleasantly surprised at how fresh and delicious Choppa Poke was. The fish was definitely the highest quality and the salad was fresh as well. Not only that, the employee gave a generous serving of fish and was very friendly. I will 100% be coming back soon because of this. For a fair price, you get a delicious bowl of poke. 10/10 would recommend.

The food is SO good and fresh. All of the staff are so kind, friendly, and on top of it. I work in Food Safety and have worked in food service before and Ive seen them following all cleanliness/cross contamination procedures to a T. I go here whenever I go out for food in Goleta.. Hands down the best poke bowls. Really good ingredients, loved the setup for building out a bowl to your preference. I went with the four proteins to try a broad selection, octopus, ahi, yellowtail, and salmon. All were fresh and very tasty. Great value too, $18 for the massive bowl I got was a meal and a half.

Customer service is always on point.Was passing by the area on our way to the beach today, told my 2 other friends about this place so we grabbed food and head out.They fell in love with this place right away and after they tried it, they couldnt put their forks down!! Good selection of fish and seafood options as well as base and topping options. Used to be our go-to spot for poke more often, but the prices have increased a number of times over the past year. A medium bowl now costs almost 14 dollars, which is pretty tough to justify for the size of the bowl and the amount of protein included. If they were more consistent with the amounts in their bowls, I might consider it more often, but there has been a number of occasions where Ive paid over 15 dollars with tax for a bowl that is worth half that.

I recently discovered this place and loved the food. They have great variety and yummy sauces. The good thing is this place has a tasty and healthy vegetarian menu as wellStaff was kind and this place is hugely popular among youngsters for Lunch.Loved it and within just $10 you can have a hearty and healthy lunch. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. Also, they are available on Access card.

Been going here for over a year now and the service and quality has gone down hill drastically. I would not recommend going here. I used to see the same guy and gal who also worked downtown and they were very friendly and always greeted us and gave great customer service. Ever since the new year I have gone 3-4 times and every time its a new guy and gal and they keep giving smaller serving sizes, are rude, and lack customer service skills. They said that edamame was a premium topping that my points went towards when in fact edamame has been give out for free for years. When I asked about it, the guy just walked away. Sad to see such a good place go down hill this quickly.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. If you wish to be humiliated, do check them out.Ordered their poke bowl in english and dined in with my husband. Thinking we could not understand mandarin, we later heard one of the female employees speaking to her colleagues pretty loudly about us and mentioning how disgusting we were as customers. In her exact words Those two people who just came in, one male and female, having a bowl of poke bowl. Dont you think they are very disgusting?I was extremely astonished to hear what she had said given that we did absolutely no wrong. And still find it puzzling why she would have said that. While we did not confront about the issue, we later walked over and spoke in mandarin, to let her know we understood mandarin too.I guess its just having a certain amount of basic respect and EQ to not badmouth about your customers so loudly. I hope the boss of this outlet is reading this and would educate your staff about customer service.Ive never felt so much humiliation while dining.

This place used to be amazing. I would honestly go here multiple times a week! I would also schedule lunch meetings here and tell all of my friends to go there. The owners and employees did everything possible to take care of you.Recently this restaurant changed owners and names(from pokeme to choppapoke). It has now turned into a place that although I enjoy the food I would rather avoid this place altogether.1. The prices were raised significantly. When this place opened you could get a large 5 scoop bowl for $10 now a large is $15 with only 4 scoops.2. The employees rush you to make decisions and scold you for asking for more. Today I asked for extra cucumbers and the employee says that really is too much.3. The owners and employees are constantly screaming at each other in Chinese. Which is slightly uncomfortable (and I speak Chinese which I dont think the employees knew haha)4. This tables are not cleaned very often. I went in at 3pm and we found one table that was not coated in masago.So in summary the food is good, but it may not be worth the effort and cost to get it. This review honestly makes me sad to give because I have loved this place for soooo long.

The fish is good quality and tasty. As well as all the of toppings Ive tried, with the exception of avocado. Several times the avocado has been really hard, as if it was just picked. I wouldnt mind it as much if they didnt charge such a large amount for it, which leads me to my last comment. The price here is WAY more then most Poke places I go to. Still cheaper then a sushi house for my fish craving, but man, $17 for a Poke Bowl? (With avocado).

The food is good, but the service is terrible. When there was a manager there, everything went smoothly. When there wasnt and the store was close to closing, all but one employee was super dismissive. The girls making our food talked to each other and didnt even ask us what we wanted-- just waited for us to tell them. When we went to order boba, nobody was at the corner. When my friend asked the man if we could order, he looked at us, sighed, then walked away. We asked another girl if we could order and she didnt speak much english. She just told us to wait, then just stood there. Honestly some of the worst service I have ever received. The only nice person there was the girl at the cash register with silver hair.

The quality of customer service here is ridiculous. Very impatient with a simple bowl of white rice, no toppings just the bowl and somehow that was too flustering?? Was asked for here or to go? I responded here please and the man immediately said we are closed.It was 9:30, and their hours say they close at 10. After eating I threw away my bowl into their trash can (which was right next to their WIDE OPEN door) and was screamed at by the man behind the drinks counter!! I’ve been here multiple times since it’s opened. At the time, it was the only poke option around, so I was willing to pay a premium for it. It’s quite pricey and they would charge you extra for things like seaweed salad or imitation crab salad. Now, I believe they’ve changed their policy to include these items at no additional charge. It’s fresh and delicious but maybe that’s just because I love poke.Still not a bad place to go unless you’re living in Isla Vista. I would highly recommend pokirito (customer service there is quite phenomenal and they have stamp cards) or poke ceviche. It’s about the same costs and you wouldn’t have to drive as far.
