First time here. The cheese sticks were delicious. Cafe vibe. Views from the windows were pretty cool but could use a deep cleaning.

New employees and a new manager? Not sure. But they lost their 2 best waitresses. Raquel was half the reason to come here. It takes 4 girls to do just the job of Raquel. I know it will take time for the new employees to get with it but they messed up our order a couple times today which we are not used to. We are totally u derstnading of the mistakes. Its just a bummer.
Getting a refill on coffee was lagging. Food was fresh and plentiful. Location was clean. We had breakfast.
Great service, decent food. Reason I gave it only 2 stars is because the drinks are $4-5, so we had water, but mostly because they do not serve butter. Even though I asked for it, it was margerine. That is a deal breaker for me .
Have eaten here many times. Loved it. BUT the wife took our granddaughter there the other day for lunch. All was good. She left a cash $5 tip. Payed the bill $35 with her debit card, put a line thru the tip area. The next day I checked our checking account, it showed $35. Two days later it changed to $41. Six bucks isnt much, but how many times a day is this happening? My bank is looking into it.
They bake their own bread so its always soft. I enjoyed an Ortega Chile on my cheeseburger. It was filling and came with seasoned fries.

This is a small place, but had really good food, homemade style. The make their own biscuits. Waitress was sweet.
Service was good hamburgers where good the pastami melt a different story The pickles weighed more than the pastrami did and the paper that the bill was on was larger and about the same thickness.a adult burger and fries a kids burger and fries pastrami melt 1 milk 1 coffee and 1 soda 54.00 dollars for lunch the server and offers to take the pastami off but I did eat what little was there so I paid for it but never again
The food is always awesome, we love it and keep coming back just for that! Ill admit that recent changes though make it a little difficult to think about coming back. For one the restaurant servers seem to be at a high turn over rate. Each one being not so friendly..at all. They use to carry Pepsi products which I enjoy a lot but now they have Coke products just like everyone else. There is one cook that has been there a long time and hes friendly and does a great job every time.
They were really busy. Waitress Raquel was very nice. The food was great! This is our new place to come for breakfast 😋
The food was amazing. Service is extremely friendly. I would put a higher rating of the table was clean. But everything else was great. It might of just been cause they were slightly busy but still. If you want a good burger or just done diner did then this is the place for you. They make their own bread
They have pretty classic diner food, which is a good thing. They have this awesome and large salad (grilled chicken I think?) with your choice of dressing. Their burgers dont disappoint. Also, I like their fries a lot. They are large and delicious. The chicken sandwich is good too.
The food is always piping hot and fresh. I love the fresh buns. I love the old style 50s feel. Great kids menu. My grandson loved the spaghetti. The staff is always friendly and attentive.
This was a new restaurant for me, but its one of my daughters favorite places. The mushroom burger was terrific as were the onion rings. Service was fast and the service was excellent. Well be back! 😊👍
Went here today with my daughter. Despite finding a hair in my food the second the server set it down, we still ate here. I wont be returning. For the price $10 for a hamburger, it wasnt that good. I misunderstood that the salad was an extra 3$ and I would have thought maybe they could have comped that. But over all, I wont be going back or recommending it. ☹

I would rate this zero if I could. The burger was the worst burger Ive ever had. Id rather have food from the school cafeteria. First of all the bun didnt even rise all the way it looked as it a car had run over the buns, and on top of that the bun didnt have any good taste to it. Like just add some salt. The burger also didnt have any taste and the cheese was shriveled up and also didnt have any flavor probably due to the bacon. That bacon was the worst Ive ever had in my life. Usually on a bacon cheeseburger you want your bacon to be crispy or at least somewhat crispy but it was just the opposite. It was so chewy that some of the bacon tasted raw as if the bacon wasnt even cooked and the stench was rancid. It was so horrible that I had to run to the bathroom and spit it all out and I felt as it I was going to puke. Even starving kids in Africa would reject this food. As the talented Anthony Bourdain explains to us, Bad food is made without pride, by cooks who have no pride, and no love. Bad food is made by chefs who are indifferent, or who are trying to be everything to everybody, who are trying to please everyone. Bad food is fake food, food that shows fear and lack of confidence in peoples ability to discern or to make decisions about their lives.
I cant say enough about this cafe . Ill just keep it short and sweet. Great food, friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere, good prices. My only complaint is sometimes I cant get a table cause they are packed out. Love em.
Craving bacon and saw this place. Wont be back for bacon. The brand they use has poor flavor and very fatty. Could only eat part of it. Noisy place, kind of echoes sounds. Cute 50s style dinner and service comes with a smile. Because they are cooking in an open area behind the counter, even all the kitchen noise comes across loud.
Ive been into Chubbys twice with friends. The first time one of the friends suggested it as we were visiting another business in the area. The second time we went back because the food was so good.This is a 50s diner style place at the edge of a shopping area among many such areas in Tulare/Visalia. There is plenty of parking nearby as the lot for the collection of stores is large. The interior is smalish, but for late lunch There wasnt a problem getting seated. There is a variety of selections on the menu, but burgers and sandwiches dominate.On both visits everybody in the party ordered burgers. They were uniformly good. Fresh buns, freshly made and brought in for the restaurant. The fries that come standard with the burgers were crisp and flavorful without added coatings or salt. One person ordered onion rings. Those, too, were cooler properly and well worth the small extra charge. Flexibility: one person cant have cheese, one wants both grilled and raw onion, one wants wheat bread in place of a bun. All special orders were accurately filled with a smile.We all would say, if you are in the area visit Chubbys. If you are looking for a great burger you wont be disappointed.
I just went into chubbys and waited 10 minutes before leaving. No one even spoke to us. We saw someone in a apron in the back and he saw us but no greeting no acknowledgement nothing. I really wanted good food but had to go to taco bell instead. Really disappointing service.
This place has good food however I tried going in the evening because I was craving breakfast and they told me they were only serving dinner. This was a surprise to me considering they are a diner and should be serving breakfast all day. The waitress said they usually do but the cook decided to only serve dinner this particular evening. Very disappointed so I left and went to black bear diner where they were happy to serve me some breakfast for dinner.

Chubbys is an old school diner atmosphere, good food, friendly staff and fair prices. We go there frequently and are never disappointed.
I like the quik service. Food is usually served to me in under 10 minutes from placing order. What I dont like is the prices. For me to eat alone the bill is usually $12-$16. That is the price for only the food . I always drink water, but I do feel that is a high price to pay for just breakfast.

One of Visalias go to restaurants, staff is consistent, friendly & attentive. Food delicious just the way youd expect. Youll feel comfortable eating solo or with friends/family. Food items are named with catchy names.
Food good but not all waitresses as friendly as should be, n stop serving coffee about noon when they consider breakfast to be over. Just found out 2day up to the waitresses if they choose to make more coffee. Thats ridiculous!!
If you havent been for B, L or Dinner your missing out.... Best Hamburger in town and the Breakfasts are pretty amazing too.... the staff are super nice...thats why We give it a ☆☆☆☆☆ rating....

Have gone there many of times was a great place for me till today it was all bad we ordered our food and everyone at my table including the other people that arrived 15 min after us got theres and I was still waiting for my club sandwich and I asked why it was taking so long for just one sandwich the waitress goes oh its because I forgot to give the bread to the cook never again will I go there so disappointed and its not the first time
Love coming to this place whether it is breakfast or dinner you will not be disappointed. The omelets taste good and so do the burger also they make there buns fresh.
Slow night with slow (but nice) service. On the other hand, the waitress was all by herself.Great milk shakes, great diner atmosphere. Definitely try the chix cordon blue.
The service is really bad it took around 45 min to and hour to get our food. They also forgot some if our drinks. This place needs to step up their service
This place closes at 9 on Sundays... Website says 10. We walked in at 8:50 and they said they were closed. A little disappointed in the lack of effort to take customers 10 minutes before closing. I really liked this place and the food but probably will not go back due to this issue. Bummer!

This was my first time here ordered the Wolfman Jack simply have to say I loved it, lady that took my order was nice this made this a pleasant experience for being my first visit and I will be back i do recommend this place .

Went for an early lunch and had some pretty good burgers on fresh baked buns. The breakfast that was still being served looked fantastic, definitely going back for that.
Im not to big on breakfast when i eat out, but this place has the best French toast. They also make all the bread they serve on the menu.

2023-03-11 06:19:06I ordered the chicken breast sandwich with a side salad, the bread/bun was super soft and delicious but overall it was a little plain. The side salad was a very good size and the lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes were very crisp but still a little wet from being rinsed. I liked the ranch dressing. I havent had breakfast here for a long time so next time I will definitely be ordering pancakes 🥞

Its very good the staff is horribly friendly the girl who was managing the front and being a server on the day I came had a very upbeat energy. The burger was amazing and definitely a must try however the fries I got were very unproportionately seasoned some fries were overly seasoned and others feel like some person in England was making my food because of the lack of seasoning on the mass majority of them. With that being the only problem of this establishment I will be happily coming here again to try more food

2023-05-30 05:05:59We had called and asked what time they closed. We were told 2:30pm, and we immediately headed over there. As we opened the front door the employee prevented us from entering and told us they were closing early. I said, But I just called 15 minutes ago, to which the employee replied, Our GM called and told us to close early. We were disappointed as we wasted time and gas and had to find another diner that was open.
