Love this peaceful place. Its wonderful that it is open to the public. They have a lovely bookshop and gift shop. There is also a vegetarian restaurant that is very good. The people running the restaurant are so very sweet. Its always nice coming here. Also, the many peacocks walking around the property are a sight.

Very beautiful and with a serene surrounding. The place is spread out with beautiful peacocks displaying their feathers in full glory. The vegetarian restaurant inside the premise offers healthy and tasty food. Be prepared for a long wait on holidays and weekends.Personally, I would have preferred if the monastery was quiet without playing the recorded teachings. They could have offered headphones to the interested and maintain the hall for meditation or deeper introspection.Overall, a wonderful place to visit again & again.

A rare gem in this world. Large Mahayana Buddhist temple complete with the four fold assembly of (fullly ordained) monastic monks and nuns, as well as lay women and men. Home of K-12 boys and girls schools, and University (Dharma Realm Buddhist University), and monastic training program all built on the teachings of the Buddhist Patriarch - Venerable Master Hsuan Hua. Been going here most of my life, for school and for various sessions (meditation, bowing, recitation). After years closed due to Covid, the grounds including the Buddha Hall is now open to visitors from 12-5 daily. Sadly still waiting for the vegan restaurant to reopen.

Very beautiful and calm place. The location is amazing and they have peacocks roaming the grounds. There is also a vegetarian restaurant here and it is cash only.

Beautiful! Buddhist compound with school, residences, and temple (which is the home of the Ten Thousand Buddhas). Grounds are exquisitely kept. The restaurant has very interesting and delicious food. Be sure to pick up a couple of bottles of their grape juice. It is made from wine grapes, but the monks dont ferment them as alcohol is forbidden. Tourists are very welcome! Well worth a visit.

The house of ten thousand Buddhas an old abandoned hospital that was purchased in the seventies and has been incredibly transformed into a school to teach one lineage of Buddhism. The staff I met was cheerful helpful laughing and working hard to make the facility even nicer to accommodate the people that are here as they continue their practice on a day to day basis. The small museum in the administration building is interesting if you want to know any of the history of this lineage, otherwise it will be some artifacts and just old things. The grounds are spacious. The roads and walkways are wide with plenty of room to stroll. As you enter you are greeted by a huge Chinese gatethat you drive beneath on your way to the first facility. TThe Hall of ten thousand Buddhas is quite a vortex of energy. To sit and meditatethere, well its quite powerful. There are gold Buddhas adorning wall row after row after row after row after row. Impressive as you sat and absorb this energy, people come in pay their respects, bow and pray move on about their day. It is a very impressive room and not to be missed. For me it was an overwhelming experience to consider all the good work that has gone on at this facility the energy was very powerful all I can say is triple wow! The good vibrations lasted long after my departure from this energy vortex.

A beacon of light for living beings suffering in the temporary residence we call me. The grounds are great, the restaurant REALLY good and all vegetarian, there are nice displays and a big gift store, as well as elementary, secondary, and university education facilities. And everybody is very calm and nice. But what really is impressive is the immense spiritual work done to build and sustain it and its sister monasteries worldwide welcoming for those who are looking for a different way of living life, a very lofty cosmology, and living examples of people who have transcended the usual worldly concerns. The sincerity of the underlying Dharma Realm Buddhist Association is a wonderful thing...rare in a world of Me, first! So enjoy a short visit or begin a compelling spiritual journey at one of the many recitation or meditation sessions or volunteer programs where outsiders who are willing to observe some simple rules to respect the rule of monastic life the monks and nuns must follow.
