Found myself here on a Saturday afternoon for brunch, 30 min wait was worth it.Food was excellent, it really was a treat to have chilaquiles this good and not have to drive down to Mexico. Wife had a salad and an apple juice that was all the rave.Parking is not a problem with the station right across the street, and the walk to cedros design district is a good distraction. Overall great place.

Stopped by for breakfast on Sunday @ 8am, no wait time, recommend going early. My GF and I shared the enchiladas, crispy hash browns, eggs and toast. The food tasted really good and our waiter even prepared the food on separate dishes for us. Supper cute location and great staff. We asked for outdoor seating and was seated under a beautiful tree and the patio was well decorated. Our experience couldnt have been more perfect.

Servers are very welcoming and friendly. Only thing I would mention is that the system for getting on the waitlist/being checked into the restaurant is a bit disorganized, as there is only one entrance and it is relatively small. On weekends there are a lot of people, especially on holidays, and we went on Father’s Day. It is a bit hard to tell who in line is waiting to be checked in and who has gotten a text saying a table is ready. Other than that, the food is good and lots of options.

A lovely restaurant. Nice beach decor, nice tables and chairs. Service was good. Coffee was good. The chilaquiles were excellent. The gluten free poached eggs Benedict also excellent with noteworthy pesto. A wonderful place for brunch.

Im upset with myself for not reviewing this place earlier. The folks at Claires are outstanding. The food is absolutely delicious and the service was 10/10. We went on a Wednesday for a later breakfast (around 10am) and were able to get a seat right away out back. I imagine its busy on the weekends, but Id wait at least 45min here to get a table. Plenty of parking on the street and in the back. If youre in the SD area, definitely worth a visit.

Can’t say I was very impressed. I paid 50 dollars for two bagels and smoothies to go, then waited 50 minutes to get it. When I finally got my box of food I opened it up to find it was stale and all the ingredients were separated. Seriously? I paid 50 dollars to make it myself? For sitting down to eat, I’m sure this place is better than how I experienced it but yeah I’m leaving this review because my experience was trash and I’m not going there again for to go.

Coming in on a mid-morning Sunday for brunch, I knew it would be busy. We waited about 45 minutes to get seated for 4 people. We ordered quite a bit. From the crispy hash browns, Tuscan Benedict, Gluten-free pancakes, smoothies, chilaquiles, and The Clean Up raw juice was all fantastic, and worth the wait. All of us left happy and satisfied. All the workers at this restaurant were definitely hard at work and were hustling to make sure all guests were well taken care of. This is nice to see for a change compared to some other businesses where workers are unmotivated and lazy. This eatery restaurant is definitely recommended.

So good, we came back for lunch. We all loved our breakfast.. I tried the berry French toast and hubby tried the green omelet. Also, I had a side of steel cut oatmeal. All were great.My daughter got sick after breakfast, but Im not sure it was related. She had the bagel and lox.For lunch we tried the pear flat bread. It was ok. I had chicken salad sandwich which needed salt or spices of some sort. The Brussels sprouts were great.I would recommend breakfast over lunch.Outdoor seating is great.

Must visit breakfast place at Solana beach. Omlettes and pancakes are highly recommended. Beautiful location close to the beach. Gets very crowded on Saturday and Sundays, so visit on weekdays if you have the option.

What an adorable breakfast spot! My friend took me here yesterday and we had such a nice time. First off, we were greeted with warm hospitality from every staff member we encountered! Everyone was super friendly and genuine. We shared the Chiliquiles and the Caramel Waffles. Amazing! The patio area in the back is adorable and so chill. I cant wait to come back!

We loved having brunch here!! We had to try it as we were celebrating my friend Claire’s bday so it was the obvious choice!!We came around 12pm after a long hike and the wait was 17 min. They use yelp app to show you your plate on waitlist. The california omelet was amazing! We also tried the berry stuffed French toast…also amazing. I had the loose leaf masala chai, my friend had the lavender honey cortado.Everythibg was fabulous. Loved the quirky decor and the indoor/outdoor seating. Service was excellent and will definitely be back.

Stopped by for breakfast. I got the short ribs and my wife got the green scramble. The food tasted really good. Nice location and great staff. We asked for outdoor seating that ended up being towards the end of the restaurant near the parked cars. Thats the only reason Im giving them 4 stars instead of 5.

I was really impressed with their Angus Short Rib & Hash Brown Potato Cakes which came with two eggs and toast. The short rib tasted really great with alot of flavor and was a good proportionate size. I would love to come back and try more off the menu.

Conveniently located near the Solana Beach train station with good parking. Was here early for breakfast and my service was friendly and attentive. The breakfast sandwich was without reproach. Eggs fluffy, hearty cheese melted to the perfectly toasted and slightly sweet brioche bread. Hash browns were crispy but not burnt. Plenty of other breakfast options Ill have to come back and try. If youre on the move (ie catching a train out)check out their coffee shop café next door to go.

The food here is not bad. Some days pretty good but other days it can be a little greasy.I love dogs and I dont mind people bringing their dogs but I struggle when the staff handling your food pet the dogs and then without washing their hands serve your food. I admit some of those dogs are pretty cute, but please wash your hands before serving our food.

Really want to like this place, i really do. food is consistent. but the servers always treat me and my family, who are asian, like absolute trash. clearly treating us rudely compared to white patrons. not honoring our seating requests. we once clearly specified outside seating and were seated inside, and were offered seating at the outside annex when i brought this up.y’all get two stars for food ‘cause it’s aight. credit where credit is due.

While the local fare was amazing the shining star was our server Patty - great recs for two weary parents on a 10 day road trip with two delightfully energetic young ones 🤪. The girls and I visited Claires today for the first time. What a hidden gem. Roasted tomato, cooked bacon, toasted English muffin, even prepped fruits.. they were all served the way they should be. Perfecto! Kids loved the strawberry peach smoothies. Didnt seem that syrup was used in that which we all liked. Yum!I loved my classic Benedict and brioche grilled sandwich and avocado toast were delicious as well. We will definitely come back for buttermilk pancakes!

Perfect location to go for brunch after Annie’s canyon hike. We loved every dish we ordered. I especially liked their hashbrown, so crispy and tasty. There’s always a wait but it’s worth it. They also give you heart shape butter cookies after your meal.

Had it not been for a lapse in service, I would have given the restaurant 5 stars. My sister cannot eat onions without getting migraines. She carefully selected a sandwich that did not have onions listed in its description and checked with the server to make sure it did not come with onions. Sure enough, she got a mouthful of red onion mixed with a red cabbage slaw. We eventually got the server’s attention. The server was very sweet about it and said she would comp the sandwich on the bill. My sister asked that the replacement sandwich not have any slaw and asked them to substitute cheese. When the bill came, the onion-filled sandwich was indeed gone but she was charged for a grilled cheese sandwich. Go figure. Anyway, a tip if you go, please be vocal about any food allergies. We may go again but we were very disappointed in the service.

So I got the short rib hash and by far the hash was the best thing Ive had in a long time made from potatoes. The short boy was tender but a little under season for my taste but it was really great together with the hash unfortunately Im allergic to eggs so I cant tell you what the best egg to add to it but Im sure a poached or an overeasy would complement the textures of the short rib and the hash. Absolutely love this hidden gem in Solana Beach. They have really good food. You get that home cooked meal vibes inside the restaurant. I come here whenever I am in San Diego for breakfast. New favorite breakfast spot...When I arrived they said it was a 25 minute wait which I felt was worth waiting for from reading all the great reviews... but then they called me immediately and was seated, that is always a nice surprise. Friendly service and never had to wait long on anything. Got the Tuscan Eggs Benedict with Sausage and added avocado. It was like eating spaghetti and eggs... It was DELICIOUS! This was probably the best breakfast Ive had in a long time and I am excited to go back and get the same thing, and try new stuff. My friend had the pancakes and said the syrup was amazing! Also the cookies with the bill is a nice warm friendly touch, although I was to stuffed to eat them.

We had a lovely dinner under this tree. Service was excellent and food was SO delicious. The vegetarian lasagna was mmm mmm mmm. We were one of the last tables there and as a little surprise & delight, they gave us some pastries to take home. They may have been the end-of-the-day-goods, but they were still good the next morning. And really tasty! Friends suggested this place and were so glad they did. First time it took 45 minutes for a takeout order (they refunded me without me asking so I figured I’d try it again). Second time I called to make an order but they still make you wait in the same huge line to pay. Third time (today), this is what came when I ordered a breakfast sandwich. Didn’t realize this place has you build your own sandwich 🤣. Also ordered avocado toast and it was literally just avocado slapped on bread. Not at all as described on the menu (should have eggs exe). Three times is too much. Definitely Won’t be back and I don’t suggest this place.

Simple, focused, tasty menu, and comfortable outdoor and indoor seating make this a great place to visit on a lazy day with friends or family. Theres also a commonly owned coffee shop next door in case you need to wait for a table. About 20 parking spots make it worth checking the lot that wraps around the building if you dont see any street parking.

I feel in love with Solana beach. So many times I have driven on hwy 5 and finally decided get redirected my route. I stopped by claires coffe and had the best Chai Latte (sweet, creamy & perfect temperature) I also ordered the breakfast acai bowl with creamy vanilla and it was so delicious. Same stuff, cheaper and the food comes quickly. A couple hours after, one of our party vomited and was sick for a couple days. Couldve been the tomatoes from another plate. Or, it was the Beach Bowl he ordered. Didnt eat anything before.

I was excited to return to Claires. We have been a few times for breakfast and lunch. I was soon disappointed. The service we recieved was bad from the start. Everyone around us got service, food and refills on beverages. Our table was ignored. The waitress even forgot to put our order in. We had to mention it to her on passing because she rarely return to check on us. A bus person even dropped a tray of glasses when he went by our table and glass broke all under our table. Not one person from the restaurant came to say anything about it. Even the bus person was silent as the picked up the broken glass. Luckey it hit our legs but we escaped any cuts.Food was nothing special. A typical breakfast which we would have been happy with if it came with service. You could be right next to the door as I was, but if you miss that text, your reservation will disappear in 5 min. The staff that was there at Claire’s Too on Monday 10/4 could have cared less about me or my order. They said it would be 20 minutes. I ate here over a month ago and was double charged. I am active duty military in the Navy and was underway for about a week so I did not notice the discrepancy immediately. While I was willing to leave after an hour it was the place my fiance wanted to go to eat so we waited it out but seeing others seated before us when they arrived after us was very frustrating and being told that they checked in online did not help matters. I just find it very inefficient to allow patrons to check in online and push back those who were there and put their name down first.

Good food. The wait wasnt bad. Plenty of parking. The inside/outside atmosphere is fun, but can get a bit loud inside. The service was great. Would recommend for breakfast. Will be coming again.

Whenever we are visiting the San Diego North County area we make a point of having breakfast here. Wonderfully prepared foods and lots of good healthy options. Service is always great. Would highly recommend giving it a try.

We always enjoy a nice brunch or lunch here. There’s lots of outdoor seating, which is a must for us in COVID-19 times. The back patio is my favorite but the front is nice too. I enjoyed the BLACKBERRY STUFFED FRENCH TOAST with mixed berries and blackberry compote.The QUINOA, ROASTED BEET & ASPARAGUS salad looked sooooo tasty, but I was in the mood for breakfast.

This place is awesome. Its totally worth the wait. I had salmon cake egg benedict on a croissant and I highly recommend it. The coffee is also great. Staffs are friendly and helpful. The are plenty of parking spaces around.

Delicious spot for breakfast. I always get the risotto cake Benedict and lemon ricotta pancake. Always get the hash browns....they are crispy all the way through. Busy on the weekends but you can call ahead or get on the waitlist (through Yelp). Chai latte is good but rarely hot...coffee is often lukewarm too.

Hands down best breakfast and lunch place Ive ever been to! It can get a little busy on the weekends but without a question is worth the wait! They have a really cool sustainability story too- they were one of the first restaurants in the county to have a Platinum LEED certified building.

We went for the gluten free options. I ordered the GF French toast with eggs and sausage. The eggs were cold when served and the French toast was just not good (it was Udi’s bread that wasn’t soaked in the egg mixture long enough) and it was overall a pretty disappointing experience. I also felt unwell the rest of the day so I think there may have been some cross contamination in the kitchen.

We’ve been eating at Claire’s since they opened and are disappointed with the new ownership. Breakfast sides are now extra if you want toast. One of the most iconic parts of the original Claire’s was their pastry and bread. Prices of menu items have gone up while customers get less for their money. Too many great restaurants in Solana Beach - we will give them our business. 9/15/2018.
