The fish tacos were large & didnt stand a chance of leftovers. So delicious that I ate them both. I usually cant eat that much. You have to try the truffle fries with the cheese sauce to taste the full flavor. The smokey drink smelled good but I couldve done without seeing the rusted inside top. It had a lightly sweet chocolate taste. The old-fashioned was on point & recommend out of the two. Mike our server was awesome!!

A huge vintage factor warehouse where lemons & oranges were packed and shipped out back in the 1920s Wow! Now the structure holds modern shopping. Including:a vintage clothing shop, coffee house, macrame crafts, natural made soaps / creams and other novelty stores. Very cool places to visit and shop.This historic site also provides plenty of good food and drinks to satisfy your snacking needs; lunch or dinner plans.If you injoy walking through shaded streets, looking and shopping about (in College campus vibe town) Then youll love Clermont.Dont forget to visit Rino Records and the Ice-cream polar. Yummy!

Guss BBQ in Claremont on 7/3/22 very good BBQ,the babybacks and tri tip and BBQ brisket were very good and well portioned for the price. Didnt care much for the potato salad or baked beans I like mine regular they had so many added extras in the potato salad and the beans it didnt have any flavor. The beans where mixed with black and some were brown. I just like the standard baked beans. Great meat!

We had dinner at Guss Restaurant on Fathers Day. My hubby y ordered the he Texas beef brisket with the side of bbq baked beans & garlic mashed potatoes while I got the Bbq pulled pork with sides of bbq baked beans & Louisiana red beans and rice (a little on the dry side🥴). Oh and we also had the cornbread which was awesome👍 The waitress, Dillon, said it was on the house. Brisket and pulled pork were very tender and delicious. My hubby at first didnt want be the mashed potatoes coz he doesnt care for garlic but he said it was good 😊 We are for sure going back again and maybe try their fried chicken or the catfish.

This is definitely a nice place to hang out. Its a much needed addition to the downtown Claremont area. Its both a college and family environment.Parking: it can be a little tight in the garage, but its free so thats good.

Lots of places to go to down here! Frozen yogurt, BBQ, vintage clothing, candles, used books, juice, people of all sorts. Theres a free parking garage, and also limited parking on the street, if youre lucky. Its a beautiful area, and the shops often have creaky old hardwood floors that lend a charm that I love. Its a good place to wander about and spend money. Everything is clean. The bathrooms require a code to get in, so ask before you leave the store youre in!

Really cool place for a night out. Unique shops and restaurants. Not excessively big but big enough. Pretty cool that the building has some history as a Sunkist oranges packing house. Gus bbq was great try the burnt end burger and a la minute ice cream hit the spot, especially the sea salt Carmel ice cream! There is a old school pay by the hour arcade and plenty of places to drink. Take a date and have some fun.

Went out to try Guss BBQ and it did not disappoint. Went with a group of 5 and we were able to split the check up easily.I ordered the loaded nachos and it was a very big serving for 1 person. Youll definitely leave with leftovers.It is a small place so always make sure make a reservation so you dont have to wait. Indoor was comfortable considering it was a hot day, and parking is easily accessible via street/parking structure.The waitress that assisted us was very accommodating and helpful

What we loved most was the used bookstore. Being a college town, they get some of the most interesting books, and sometimes they get rare finds. Either we buy them, or they are sent for reading material in prisons upon their request for books in a certain genre. Different books each time we visit!

We visited this evening for dinner at the Whisper and then walked through the Packing House. Fun and active place to visit. Several shops and restaurants in the Packing House and many around the area. There were lots of young people in their 20’s and also of all ages. I don’t know how much there is to do for younger ages. We just visited the Packing House. Dinner at the Whisper was expensive and the food was hit and miss. The fresh veggies on the rib plate were tasty but under cooked . We informed management and they switched out the vegetables for some that were cooked properly and packaged it to go along with the leftover ribs that were left over from the meal. Our coconut shrimp was over cooked and tasted a bit burned. My tomato soup didn’t have enough flavor but the grilled cheese with bacon was tasty. It has a flash of sweetness every now and then and I liked that! jambalaya was good per my husband. Our bill for 3 entrees, 2 cokes, and 5 coconut shrimp was $101.87. I would not eat here again because the food was so hit and miss and pricy. The staff was pleasant and everyone we encountered greeted us. Take each review that wasn’t entirely positive seriously and choose elsewhere.

As a wine bar, it is very good. The selection is very nice.As for food... not so good. The food is very tasty, so the problem is not the chef. The service was slow (they were not busy when we were there) and very unmotivated. I asked for salt & pepper (dont understand why it was not on the table to start with), it never showed up.But that is not my biggest issue. The scary problem is that all of their deep fried items are fried in peanut oil and that is NOT mentioned ANYWHERE on their menu. With so many people having allergies to peanuts (my wife being one) this is dangerous. If I hadnt asked, we could have had a real medical emergency. All it takes is one line allergy warning at the bottom of the menu.

A lot of great stores to shop at. They have a three-level parking structure and the third floor parking is for commuter parking and they have security cameras. It is a nice place to go and walk around and enjoy the different shops. A local movie theater very nearby within a very short walking distance. People are friendly there and there is a good ambience. Great place to hang out.

I really like this place! The foods pretty good, but the entertainment is what really brings this place together. Honestly, the last time I was there it was a little Jazz outfit going on. Bass drums Guitar trumpet saxophone and they had a DJ the DJ wasnt with the restaurant, The DJ was in the band on stage. Good Times Good Vibes. The bartenders are a little too trendy. I asked for a drink and they honestly didnt know how to make it because there were two there a little into the contemporary, the drink of the week if you would. But as far as like old-school martini and nice Scotch ..... yeah, over their heads. Thats okay the food and entertainment made up for it. Ill be back, with a flask!!!

They have a great selection of wine. They only choose to hold whichever they believe to be good. They do not settle for less than great wine. They are helpful to those new to wine in choosing which ones may suit your taste. A lot of their wines are more expensive, but that just goes with the quality. If you buy a $30 bottle of wine, it will still taste really good.

The packing house is full of little shops that are great to explore. I particularly like the game store. When Iron and Kin was in Pomona, the staff was so friendly and I loved going there. However when I visited it for the first time in the packing house the staff had a terrible attitude and acted as if I was bothering them. In fact, snobby/elitist sums it up. For that reason I wouldnt visit that particular packing house store again. Coffee shops are a dime a dozen and if the staff is going to act like they dont want my business, Ill take it elsewhere. The other sellers in the packing house are quite pleasant though, and I visit the game place every time Im there. Definitely dont skip the wine shop either!

Eureka & Guss are wonderful! I miss Flappers Comedy Club. Packing House wine is super helpful! Love Lost Levels & Edible Arrangements! There Chefs Academy is super fun. Crepe de Paris is great for both sweet & savory. Havent had a chance to try Nekkter yet; hoping its as good as the others. The Vintage resale store is lovely; sorry I dont remember what its called and theres a really good ice cream/coffee place inside too. Phoebes has amazing yarn and beads for the crafters.Whisper House is over priced for what you get and claim to have craft cocktails but really they are a glorified beer joint that is putting forth too little effort.There are 2 newer stores I havent been too yet, the body care place inside which smells amazing and the clothier outside which looks to have great quality, but seems to be for those that prefer more flowy styles and who gravity has less pull on than me.All in all Packing House is a solid choice for diversion.

Excellent packaging, however it did not look like the promotional Mothers Day picture with extra chocolate covered strawberries on the side; they were actually included in the arrangement. The ultimate issue for the rating was due to the abnoxious behavior that their cashier had. She not only made her staff remake a pre-ordered arrangement that was sitting on a table in the front, she didnt even take the time to look over the names on the pre-ordered gifts. She made myself and other customers wait even though we all pre-ordered and her staff already made each of our arrangements. She was absolutely rude to each customer who called and visited the store while I was there waiting for my order. Word of advice to the business, please dont put unfriendly personnel who cant handle stress on the cash register. I was not pleased at how she handled her mistakes nor customer service care. As someone who used to work in customer service, food and beverage industry, and now healthcare, I do expect those to do their work respectfully and efficiently. Thank you.

Well, thanks to the lofty restaurant behind the sign my mind read the sign as Pancake House a day passing by helping a friend move. A week later here I went driving from 40 mins out and not finding the Pancake House finally realized it said Packing House. 😂 Anyways, the Crepes restaurant next to the lofty BBQ place made the trip worth the long trip.

Among the eateries in this place is Whisper House. What a treat! This was my first visit. We arrived a bit after 6 p.m. and fortunately there was no waiting. We had a very nice table (social distanced) and wonderful service. I had the Po Boy slider appetizer and could not believe the size of it. The slider came with au jus dipping sauce and I ordered fries. I ended up taking half the slider home and the fries. Beware of the train whistle. Atmosphere was light and it was just a nice night out.

This is a really cool hang out spot in the Claremont village. I really enjoy going to Augies coffee shop, which shares a store with a la minute ice cream shop. This place is an old citrus packing house that has been converted into shops and restaurants and they have some cool pictures and historical facts about it inside the building. Its right next to a big parking structure, so parking is usually not an issue. Having said that, this place can get pretty busy on weekends, so plan accordingly.

If youve visited any other repurposed packing house/districts, youll initially be disappointed with the place upon arrival. Its not a quirky collection of gourmet fast food eateries, but rather practically a mall of restaurants and specialty shops. The upper levels contain many unique businesses and eateries, but unfortunately, they seem remote due to the layout of the building. Its as if the featured restaurants and shops were located on the main/lower level. Its a shame, because there are some decent joints at the top floor, including, but not limited to, a comedy bar, restaurants with a balcony view, a clothing store, and even a bike shop (yeah, on the second floor). Aside from equally quirky layout, the place is worth visiting for the variety of restaurants alone. Parking is free in a new garage next to the Packing House, and there are even more shops and restaurants in the immediate area if you didnt eventually end up at one inside.

There is a bike shop, a pottery studio, a cake decorating studio, used book store, and a few good restaurants. Overall, this area or should I say block in Claremont is super cute! Really low key nyc meat packing district and a mini spinoff of Dtlas La live area. The restaurants and shops are lined through the whole street and it has a warehouse, farmers market, off campus, quad type atmosphere to it. At around 1pm on a Sunday over the long presidents day weekend it seemed to be super packed, but because the strip is pedestrian friendly it impeded traffic. It was certainly not empty, but not overly crowded like. Im not a fan of crowds so for me it was comfortable.

I am happy but disappointed. This is a national treasure but needs lots of work. Its super humid and hot inside and lots of crawling things inside the restroom. The shops are unique and cool but the actual building needs a lift. I think if they add fans or a quite cooling system maybe they will generate tons of traffic and boost the merchants profit. Train is very loud and maybe build sound proofing. Claremont is amazing and I am sure they can pull something to fix this
