First time there with friends. New favorite place in the city. The ultimate comfort food, especially with the chicken broth. The most tender chicken Ive ever had combined with delicious pickled veggies and chicken rice (the rice! was flavorful and perfectly cooked)Amazing and will be coming back

Im thrilled to have a Cluck2Go nearby; its hands down one of my favorite Hainan Chicken spots!Ive had the pleasure of trying both the dark and white meat, and my recommendation is to go for the dark meat. The chicken is completely deboned, and the rice is cooked with chicken broth! Plus, they serve it with pickled veggies and a side of chicken broth, making it a real bang for your buck.Sure, its not the fanciest joint and a tad small, but honestly, the real draw here is the scrumptious Hainan chicken—thats what brings people in!Service is great, and the convenience of parking all around the block is definitely a plus. No complaints here!

We ordered the Combo B for takeout. Weve only had Hainan Chicken Rice a couple of times. That said, this combo was the perfect comfort food to share with our friends.Super tender and juicy chicken with awesome chicken rice. The sides and sauces are brilliant. Every component works together in harmony. If you try it Im certain that you will experience food joy.

The food is fine. And I never expected this place to be authentic, but it’s really annoying when the waiter insists how their way to cook is the right way to cook 海南鸡饭.Plus, this place marked their closing time on 9:00pm but the waiter refused to serve dine in customers since 8:10 (ball figure). Not very pleasant.

Definitely my favorite Hainan chicken rice location in the 626! Chicken is perfectly cooked! Pickled veggies are a hit. Perfect amount of sour to them. Rice is super fragrant. Soup that it comes with you can tell has that bone stock type of taste to it. Also this place cooks on savoy. Anyone that says savoy has the best chicken rice has not gone out of their top 10 yelp restaurant phase.

The Hainan Chicken and its accompanying sauces are just so good. Its so simple but so good. The chicken is tender, the broth is flavorful, the pickles are fresh, and the sauces sing. The staff was really nice and filled up our water often. The vibe is nothing to write home about as its all about the food here.

ROTTING CHICKEN IN THEIR DUMPSTERI live behind this establishment and we have submitted several complaints to the city of pasadena regarding the rotting chicken smell in their dumpster. I really want to rate this 5 stars. But Ive had Hainan chicken rice from SF bay area that was better. So I can only rate this 4 stars. Having said that, that best Hainan chicken rice Ive had very delicious chicken rice and Cluck2gos rice is much harder. Chicken wise, I think cluck2go is better.Chicken is very tender and soft. This is my first time at this location. I had a plate of dark meat Hainan Chicken which is their most popular dish. Off of the bat the seating was small and they have 2 dedicated hard workers at your service. We dined in and the service was fast. The best way to eat hainan chicken is to mix it with the orange and green sauce. I love it! Prices is reasonable

Ginormous portion! I mean, compared to other Hainan chicken places in the 626, they def gave a lot more! Speaking of the chicken, it was so tender and succulent. Both green and orange sauces were good, they were not 100% the traditional ones, but overall tasty. Chicken flavored rice was flavorful too, but I just wish they could give us the (heated) soy sauce for rice. I feel like without that, it was something missing. All in all, a good place for Hainan chicken. I recommend this place.

I love everything here especially the fried Hainan chicken. The chrysanthemum tea is just not too sweet which I really. So far, I would say they have one of the best Hainan chicken here in LA. Just for the hainan chicken alone, it would’ve been an easy 4-5 stars, as the meat is tender and the green sauce is awesome. Portions are generous. The rice and broth are meh - kinda bland and could be more flavorful.The main reason for the lowered rating is the terrible inconsistency in the quality of their dishes, especially the cucumber salad and peanuts. If you’re lucky, as we were one day, you’ll get well flavored sides. The next time you order, however, you may well get sour cucumbers with no actual seasoning (see photo) for the fantastic price of almost $10. Yeah, no thanks. Same problem with the peanuts. A good balance between the salt and sugar one day, and bland sourness the next. Please get some QC.

So good. Everything is really good. Highly recommend the spicy cucumber salad and the pickled veggies. The rice alone is amazing. The chicken too. But the sauces they give you just enhance the flavor of everything and dont overpower anything. I just moved around the corner from this place so Ill definitely be back again and again.

Arrived off hours at 2p, surely excellent wait time of 0 minutes. Ordered the signature dish in dark meat. Arrived warm and ready to eat. Great deal with soup and sauces. Adjusted for pandemic packaging (tree hugger please look away), great presentation for the price. It is boneless unlike the Alhambra original place of different name. The chicken meat carries good amount of flavor, mild as Hanan should be. The ginger sauces in two flavors, red with a bit of spice, very mild again, the expected salty ginger oil with a good mix of what I think is the Thai spicy sauce blended with a bit of Sriracha hot sauce and a touch of vinegar. But I preferred the general salty ginger green onion oil thing. I want it saltier or more green in my preference. The green generally carries the salty taste. The rice is not oily. Most places do make it oily. Cant give too much judgement on that since every bite was covered in the ginger oil sauce.. but it was cooked right with the good texture. Soup was warm- this one a bit generic. But ok, good deal. Not much to say about the environment, nothing fancy. The store front faces the south with lots of Sun, I bet it would be hot in the summer. Service was adequate, given the hour of the visit, one page menu, and the short visit, not much to add.

Ordered takeout from their website and picked up the food in like 15 minutes on a 2pm on Saturday. The chicken was very soft and juicy and the rice flavored great. The portion is huge- I took a picture and there are like 2 layers of chicken. Parking in the back is tight but they have 2 designated spots which were both free when I arrived. Would definitely go back!

A must stop for a little Hainan chicken. Great atmosphere in a quaint cafe style with counter seating as well as table service. Owned by a friendly Chinese family, they cater to a diverse clientele with a smile. Choices also include white or dark meat chicken, half and whole chicken as well as other dishes involving chicken. If you want to try Chinese food and you are around Pasadena City College, this place is what you are looking for. I really enjoyed the food at this place, and I strongly suggest you give it a try. I ordered spicy chicken with fried rice, and I also ordered hot wings as an appetizer. This place is usually packed, and just people eating in this place look Chinese which is a good signal they serve original Chinese food. If having the opportunity to visit again Pasadena, I will undoubtedly go again to eat to this place because it was a great experience.

Dont let the look of this place deceive you, the food here is delicious! Its a small restaurant so easy to miss if youre walking by. I ordered the Hainan Chicken (dark meat) w/rice and my girlfriend got the Curry w/rice. Both were delicious. Our food came with a side of soup and this really amazing green and orange sauce (no idea what it’s called). There’s some booth seating and high chairs along the walls. Free street parking outside depending on the number of hours. The portion size was quite filling. No credit card below $10

First time here and I was quite satisfied. At $9.95, their chicken dish (option for white and/or dark meat) was larger than I had expected, and it was flavorful and delicious! Love this neighborhood spot for my hainan chicken fixPARKING: Shared lot. Theyre next to a games store (i.e. people who park all day and dont leave). We had to park on the street.FOOD:-Hainan chicken noodles: Rice noodles were slightly overcooked, but I did like the mix of veggies (i.e. not just bean sprouts). Broth was decent, but I would expect with the volume of chicken they output, it would be more of a bone broth. I know chicken. This is good chicken. I wondered how good poached chicken could be, and this proves the answer is excellent, full of flavor. The sauces are zesty and the rice is well seasoned. Went recently and quality has gone down. The rice was different. They didnt use the right grain of rice. Also not as flavorful. The chicken didnt seem to taste as fresh. Seats are pretty limited during rush hours. Which means the food is pretty good. And the staffs will try to offer seating for you while you’re waiting. Service are very nice and fast. The chicken meat is tender and flavorful. They also have rice noodle and coconut, delicious. It’s a small restaurant. So plan ahead before you go.

This place is a 2nd location. The first one is in Rowland Heights. So you know - I love Hainan Chicken and rice and I normally only go to Savoy in Alhambra as Ive never found any place even close to them. However, I was driving past PCC on Colorado and I noticed this place. It was still short of Savoy but I was surprised at how good it was. Plus, I ordered the half white and dark dish. The white meat was good and juicy. Their ginger sauce is mixed with something green and it has a milder flavor than most places but I like the mildness of the sauce with the steamed broth rice - they somehow go together more smoothly and its not such a contrasting flavor as other places. The portions of the chicken and rice were larger than others. The order came with a red chili sauce, picked vegetables and a cup of broth.I was really glad to have found this little place and there werent any lines (Savoy). The dish was just under $10 and Id recommend everyone try this place - I think some people will also be pleased with this place.

Im glad that theres a pretty authentic Hainan chicken shop in Pasadena now that can give Savoy a run for its money. With all the positive feedback that I was seeing about Cluck2Go, my friends and I came with high expectations. Honestly, I dont think there was anything all that amazing about this place - food is pretty good, but we werent wowed by what we tried.I wanted to try their signature Hainan Chicken rice dish, but all of my friends ended up ordering it. I ended up going with the Chicken Tom Yum Soup with rice noodle for $9.50 instead. Hearing the words Tom Yum Soup, I expected the soup to be tangy and a little spicy, but Cluck2Gos soup was not acidic at all. My friends all tried the soup and said that it tasted flowery - I could taste the floral hints of the soup and felt that it was sweeter than expected. I liked the rice noodles, chicken pieces, and vegetables that were in the soup, but I have had better Tom Yum Soup in the middle of nowhere than at Cluck2Go. The chicken pieces were soft and tender - and with the complimentary sauces, tasted pretty good. I just wasnt a fan of the Tom Yum soup, which should have been the star of the dish.The Hainan Chicken rice with dark meat ($9.95 - one dollar more than the regular white meat) came with flavored rice, a bowl of chicken soup, and three additional sauces (sweet soy sauce, scallion paste, and a chili sauce). We all agreed that the broth was too oily although the chicken soup did taste pretty flavorful. Rice was good and had flavor from the chicken broth, and the chicken was juicy and tender. I liked all three of the sauces, but the sweet soy sauce was my favorite. The pickled vegetables were a great addition to add some tanginess to the dish.A lot of people mentioned that the portions were really big, but I actually thought the portion was just right for the rice dish. Portions seem to be much bigger at Tasty Food. Since my friends were the ones who ate the Hainan Chicken rice, I asked them what they thought of it - they liked it, but still all agreed that they have had better Hainan chicken elsewhere. Workers are friendly, but since this is a fast-food ordering type of restaurant, you pretty much serve yourself after you order.Restaurant is on the smaller side - located on Colorado across from PCC. There was a good amount of customers coming in and out the night that we visited.tl;dr - I thought Cluck2Go was just okay - I was disappointed in my Tom Yum Chicken bowl, but I can see why people like the Hainan Chicken rice dish. Would not mind coming back again to try their food, but I hope they improve their Tom Yum soup recipe.

The Hainan chicken here is top notch. I always get white meat chicken which is always moist here. Paired with the chicken is a delicious garlic rice, pickled veggies and chicken soup. Now that theres a Hainan chicken places in Pasadena, I have no need to go to The competition in Arcadia or San Gabriel. They do serve other dishes like vegetable stir fry, Curry, fried chicken wings, beef filet and a few other things.The place is small but people eat pretty quickly so seating has never been a problem. I usually go at night though.

Dont let the bland, poached look of Cluck2gos Hainan chicken rice fool you: their specialty dish is full of flavor. The slices of either white or dark meat chicken are tender, moist and savory, as is the rice, which is cooked in the stock made from poaching the chicken. Its an ingenious way to get maximum taste from minimum ingredients. And dont forget to try either the savory green or the sweet red ginger sauces, which provide additional complexity to the chicken and rice. The salt and pepper wings are also crisp and tasty. Theyll leave you wanting more. This was my first experience with what can be called Singaporean cuisine, despite their main dish being called Hainan chicken rice, after the southern Chinese province from which it migrated to Singapore. I look forward to eating here again, and recommend it for chicken fans, as well as fans of asian food in general.

Been waiting for this place to open... I love hainan chicken! And my first to go order did not disappoint. It was great! The place has other offerings such as the chicken wings and I tried them with the honey sesame sauce... Very good! This place is definitely worth a visit if you like moist chicken with a great unique flavor. Parking is on the street but theyre usually is a space right in front. Great place to walk to from PCC. Cant wait to try other dishes on the menu. Theyre having a soft opening right now and a limited menu. Hope that will soon change.

The food is delicious but I ordered a half chicken and it was missing from my order, which I didn’t notice until I got home. When I called them for a refund, they said they could remake it for me (but how can it be called remake, if it wasn’t made in the first place?), but I was already home and I didn’t want to go back since I just had surgery.
