Since I have lived in the area, the current owner/operator is the third. They are doing a great job with an interesting and delicious menu, up close to the grill to see your meal being prepared, range of beverages. It is a quaint space but perfect for lunch and dinner. Huaraches were the special and was very good. My party got the taco special plate.

Ray, his wife and his waitress give his customers excellent service. Good flan, chicken molé, enchiladas, quesadillas, and breakfast is good, as well. Ray makes his own delicious corn tortillas, so soft and yummy. Good espresso, everything Ive had here is super delicious. My son loves the tortas, and breakfast burritos. My sister said her breakfast burrito was the best shes had. The green salsa, which Ray makes is delicious. I usually have him grill me a chili 🌶️ or two. Since I can only pick whether I had breakfast, lunch or dinner, I chose breakfast, but Ive had lovely dinners here, as well. First-timer staying at Evergreen. The torta Oaxaca is a great TWO meals. Everything looks great. Lots i want to try. Nice people too.
We were headed to another place for breakfast and it was way too busy so we decided to take a chance. As mexi food lovers were pleasantly surprised at the chill atmosphere and excellent food. Fresh, fast and filling. Definitely recommend this place, we had breakfast but can’t wait to go back for lunch and dinner!
Great food just the way we ordered. Was a little slow, but very fresh and great tasting. The beef burrito was amazing! Tacos where tiny, but cheap.

Ive been here many times since moving to Cutten ten months ago. I love their fresh ingredients and fast, friendly service. Whether I am enjoying their delicious burrito bowls, taco combo, breakfast skillets, burritos, or one of their many specials, the dishes are packed with flavor, fresh ingredients, and I leave feeling less weighed down compared to other Mexican restaurants. I do prefer spicy salsa, and their homemade varieties are quite mild, but that is just a matter of personal taste.

Wooo! This place has the only espresso machine for miles (haven’t had their coffee yet though), just had a very satisfying breakfast burrito. Got the bacon avocado without bacon, the potatoes were so tender. I am from Southern California and I find Northern California Mexican food to be lacking but this rocked my world.
We went for breakfast and enjoyed the most delicious, fresh and tasty dishes. I had the satisfying Memelitas Oaxaquenos. Usually American Mexican food is heavy, especially the beans and tortillas. Here they were light as well as delicious --and homemade. The light, not too sweet, and perfectly spiced Mexican mocha truly tasted like something youd find in a fancy establishment. It also came in a super sized mug, which my partner loved. The owners are kind and attentive. Id be there every day if I lived locally.

I was too hungry to take a picture first but man, I wish I did! I got the verde chilaquiles with Pastor and over easy eggs. My bf got the mexican skillet. We scarfed it all down! Everything was fresh and delicious! Our meals were made fresh right in front of us and I woukd absolutely recommend this place to anyone who likes real food.

This is my new favorite restaurant. Excellent, fresh, unique Mexican fare. They cater to my keto diet with a generously portioned steak & chicken salad, and to my caffeine affection with their cappuccino machine.
Cocina Oaxaquena is one of my favorite places to enjoy my favorite meal. This husband and wife team work incredibly hard, and provide some of the freshest, most delicious Mexican food in Humboldt County. The chilaquiles verdes are not to be missed! Please support this local business! I want to see them thrive!
Food was bland, could not taste the seasonings or spices. Rice was wet like it was instant. The beans were like straight from a can and the beef was rubbery. Not my choice for a meal.
I just had the best Mexican breakfast ever. They also have super bomb coffee and espresso drinks. Come try this place, you won’t regret it.

2023-06-24 01:33:55Great little spot with just a handful of small tables. cant get a seat? order out and take a short walk to Sequoia Park. fresh ingredients and you can taste the quality. handmade tortillas, great sauces, and coffee cups youll want to ask where you can get some for home yourself.

The coffee probably deserves its own separate review. I especially like the clay jarritos it is served in.

2023-02-10 21:59:44The homemade tortillas are EVERYTHING at this place. Order the Quesadilla Oaxaqueña with carne asada and prepare to have a happy tummy. The people who run this restaurant are sweet and I’ve never had to wait more than like 10 minutes for great food. If you like it spicy, tell the owner you want their hot salsa! The salsa verde is mild and has a delicious tangy tomatillo flavor while the salsa roja will leave your tongue burning!

2022-07-26 02:05:48Sat at one of a few tables in a compact dining room shared with a counter and kitchen area. Service was friendly and immediate and food was served relatively quick on ceramic. We had mole and quesadilla no meat with horchata and lemonade. Two other tables were seated and two to go orders were picked up while we ate. The mole was excellent, the rice and beans good, green sauce great, red sauce powder based and very hot. Salad garnish and veggies were very fresh. I go back for the mole.

If youre ever nearby and youre looking for some amazing Mexican food, you have to try Cocina Oaxaqueña!My sister and I are always on the hunt for the best local chilaquiles and I think we may find them. We got them with verde sauce and pastor and they were perfect. Their refried beans are an excellent addition, mix it all up into a sloppy pile and you have the best Mexican breakfast, in my opinion 😌I am really looking forward to coming back to try the mole!
