This place was awesome! Service was tip top; host got us seated right away and introduced our server by name. Got our drinks out right away, let us know what the off menu options were, gave us spot on recommendations when we asked, and food came out quickly. The food was also amazing; the Omar special, juevos rancheros and French toast were all wonderful. Thanks guys!

This is a great breakfast place. As a GF and DF girl, plenty of choices to be had. The wait was not too long, and the prices were what you would expect for the area ($$). Highly recommend.
Recommended by our dive instructor, this was the perfect brunch to refuel after our scuba outing to spend the rest of the day at the beach. Friendly service, tasty food, very reasonable price. Will be back!

Breakfast was unreal, but our food took ~40 minutes to come out. Got there early so we were able to get a seat but people were already having to wait as early as 9am.
I had a breakfast burrito with avocado and black beans on the side ... hands down one of the best breakfasts Ive ever had. Perfectly toasted on the outside and decadent, fluffy eggs + cheese on the inside. I highly recommend if you are looking for a yummy, no-frills, to die for meal for either breakfast or lunch!!
The menu is simple but the food is excellent. Would highly recommend the soy chorizo scramble as well as the pancakes. The portions are generous and they bring a depth of flavor to things as simple as black beans and pan fried potatoes.
One of my favorite places in San Diego to have a delicious brunch for a reasonable price. The surrounding area is beautiful - right by the water and the style of buildings and atmosphere is perfect. The food is extremely delicious, especially their rosemary potatoes.
The service here is unreal! We had such a great time and would come back just based off of our stellar experience. Then you put incredible fresh food on top of fantastic service and its a must visit place!! We had the french toast and the Avocado Scramble, absolutely delicious!
Ughh, just had a real bad breakup. This place has awesome food; love their artichoke omelette, however theyve reach an all time level on ignorance. Sorry guys but you need to cater to everyone; even us military vets with babies and baby strollers. Next time handle it with more sincerity(hint of sarcasm). Great food, bad service for this guy and his little princess.

30 minute wait to get table. 10 minute wait to place order. 30 minute wait for food. Frustrated that people who sat after us got their food before our table. Staff was friendly. Food was good. My Avocado Scrambled was just beaten eggs in omelet form with some chunks of avocado on top with Rosemary Potatoes which was served warm as if it got forgotten by the chef. Nothing special. My husband and daughter shared a breakfast burrito and pancakes which they enjoyed. They charge extra for real maple syrup. The server also forgot my Rosemary toast. To many other breakfast joints to try this one again.
This place serves more garnish than actual food. Nothing about my experience was actually good or fantastic, and for the price you might as well go across the block to some of the better quality restaurants. I understand my comments are harsh, but I’ve never actually felt the need to write a review until now.And for crying out loud wash your dishes there should never been someone else’s lipstick stain on a cup!
I really enjoyed the food. I would say the portions are quite generous and well prepared. The latte was passable. The space is tight and probably not for people easily irritated by the close proximity of others. But i really wish i was a local because Id return often.
Three stars for service but the food was not great. I had a BLT and the bread was soggy and weirdly there was a strawberry inside it. Our hashbrown potatoes arrived seriously black but my kids were so hungry they picked it off and still ate it since our waitress didnt come back to check on us for awhile. She was nice about it though and took care of us. Wouldnt go back though.
Cute spot with excellent service and awesome food. We came early on Saturday morning and were seated right away. The pancakes, breakfast burrito, and breakfast quesadilla were all delicious. Seems like one of those menus where you really cant go wrong.
Love this place. The people that work here are down to earth and the place is small and homey feeling. Their fool is awesome. They are a sister company of Isabels down in PB, so they have veg options and great carnitas... This is my type of diner/coffee shop. Definitely, try the French toast!!

My new favorite coffee shop!! I only wish I lived closer! We just happened to stop by this place on our drive from Pacific Beach to L.A. and I am so happy we did! The staff was so friendly and all of the patrons seemed to know each other. It really felt like a local community in itself. Very welcoming! Perhaps it’s the “Cheers” of coffee shops!! Perfect latte and absolutely delicious jalepeno scramble!
Best breakfast in San Diego - hands down! Fresh food with Mexican flair. Power breakfast burritos are the best. Patrick who seems like he is the manager is the best. He clearly cares about the customers and the place. I would eat here everyday if I could.
If you want to avoid the hassle and sit immediately, arrive shortly after they open. By 9 AM there is going to be some wait involved, the bigger the group, the longer the wait.The food is a hybrid of traditional American with lots of Mexican flair. The chorizo hash browns were incredible. If you order this dish, order a side of toast as it is the one dish that didnt come with bread or tortilla.The space is cozy and a little tight but the people are friendly and always pleasant. Been here a few times and the staff is super attentive and want to make sure everything is right. They serve Cafe Moto and their french roast is incredibly good. A short walk to the cove in La Jolla makes this spot a great weekend spot to have a great meal and then a walk at beach. It is San Diego and we have quite possibly the best weather in the world. Enjoy!

The food was okay but i ordered and Mexican hot chocolate and asked about it multiple times. Never did get it 🤷♀️ gave up and went around the corner to a coffee shop instead.
Staffs are super friendly, wide range of breakfast items creatively created. Organic ingredients seasoned to perfection.Such a lovely place for breakfast. Parking is a bit hard to find & wait most of the time but well worth it! My go to in the morning!
Love Coffee Cup. Great fresh ingredients and very vegan and vegetarian friendly. Right in downtown LA Jolla. Food is great. a little pricey but it is worth it to me. Parking can be tough as it is mostly street parking but if you park far enough away, it isnt that bad. Beach is walkable from here so its a nice stroll to walk off all the food you just ate. I would highly recommend this brunch spot.
Dreadful. I Was SUPER excited about going and was VERY disappointed. The setting is very cramped, and its extremely loud. Ordered hot chocolate as it was February, and that was the best Ive ever had. I then ordered French toast and and 1 hour an 25 minutes later it came to our table burnt on both sides badly with a side of over-salted potatoes. Also CRAZY exspensive, and the waiters and waitresses give terrible service. Awful.

Coffee Cups breakfast dishes is a GREAT way to start your day. Upon entering, youre sitting in a wide open, cement floored room, in cozy chairs or a window seat. Its a little squishy, but its super comfortable and emits a homey feel.Their menu is super varied, from the traditional to the unique. They feature Asian-type entrees like the Zen Breakfast, Mexican-style entrees like their Breakfast Burritos to traditional dishes like the Coffee Cup French Toast. ALL GOOD CHOICES.The only complaint I have about Coffee Cup is the wait is often 20+ minutes. Stop being so good and popular, guys!

Coffee Cup is a quaint little breakfast place set in La Jolla. If the place gets busy, I doubt if you can even find a seat, it is that small. The menu is vegetarian friendly and I liked the choice of breakfast items they had. The waitresses were prompt and friendly. However, I really didnt love my food that much. It was a 4 egg white scramble with rice and beans and I found the quantity a tad less and the taste not out of this world. I will reassess my rating after eating again.Oh, btw, parking is a big pain in that area. Good luck finding a spot, or else, make sure you have at least 3 dollars in cash for the parking garages.
Despite uncomfortable chairs and noise, this is a place you’ll come back to for the food. The service makes you feel like you are being rushed out (my waiter gave me my check moments after my food arrived). Come here for the food but not for service or ambiance.

Typical re-imagined breakfast and lunch. Good local coffee, quality ingredients, but like much of the new culinary wave, theyve got the style, the vibe, the ingredients, and the price to go with it...unfortunately, they forgot about flavor...Fat, oils, butter, etc. .Even toast is delivered dry...yum!Had to ask for jam and butter.

Delicious breakfast and lunch in a small neighborhood cafe. Be prepared to wait a while on the weekends and during the lunch and breakfast rush. If you go early or mid-morning on the weekdays you will be able to get a table quicker.

We randomly chose the Coffee Cup after checking Google Maps. When we arrived, on a Sunday morning, we did have to wait for....less than five minutes, for a seat. We ordered a Mexican mocha, blackberry pancakes and the Soy Chorizo scramble. After a reasonable wait, our food arrived and was well presented. The taste.... Fabulous! What a great breakfast. The soy chorizo was, in my opinion, perfectly seasoned. The pancakes were delicious. Great breakfast and mocha! Service was friendly and efficient. As a bonus, there is outdoor seating that is dog friendly.

2021-08-11 12:37:20This isnt really a coffee shop as the name may indicate, but its a pretty good restaurant for breakfast in La Jolla. Its been around for a long time and our server Sal was great! The coffee is okay and they dont really have a traditional All-American breakfast, but you can add eggs and bacon to your pancake or french toast order. Seating outside is nice and theres a steady stream of customers which is a good indication.

I will start off by saying that I am a very picky person, I am a planner, a worrier, a perfectionist (you get where I am going) - so with that said... I am hard to please, LOL! However, Coffee Cup Cafe far exceeded any expectations I had! It was my birthday weekend (a long bday weekend) and we went down to La Jolla early on a Monday morning with 2 main focuses... The beach and to eat! We found parking right in front and walked inside and were greeted with a big smile and a welcoming vibe! We chose to eat outside and it was just perfect! We got this quaint, local vibe and I loved it! Also, sitting outside you can day dream over the beautiful buildings and their architecture, people watch etc!Thank you for an unbelievable birthday breakfast!They serve their food like a work of art!

Sometimes you just need to be patient because food takes longer then you eat in 5 mnts lol because is so yummy😋 Parking can be hazel sometimes in Downtown La Jolla but you can park surrender just make sure dont go over the time because during the week days I believe parking is just 2 hours not sure, always read the sign.
