Believe the hype! This place is amazing. I came here upon a friends recommendation and while we were waiting for our meal met several other customers with similar stories. Their Chili Verde is fire! Packed on a Wednesday at 11am. Definitely a good sign. They also have vegetarian options. I asked specifically so that I could return with my wife.

Youve never been here? said the woman who took my order. Now I know why she was surprised. The food was amazing! Dark red and flavorful enchilada sauce, spicy green and red hot sauce full of nuance, fresh salsa with my chips full of onions, tomatoes, cilantro, soft flour tortillas that had the perfect balance of everything it should, beans and rice some of the best Ive ever had. As I was eating it I was amazed that everything just kept tasting so rich and wonderful. Ive eaten at hundreds of Mexican restaurants all over southern California...including throughout Los Angeles, and this was really wonderful. The staff were so friendly and everyone there, staff and customers, know how special this restaurant is...and now so do I. Its only take out, but as their sign inside says, its definitely not fast food...in quality and taste, its way beyond. Try it and youll not be disappointed!

We always have the Chile verde, but this time it was too hot so we opted for carne asada and carnitas burrito. The carnitas was good, but the carne asada was not. The meat was not tasty. The beans and rice is what made it edible and the fact that we were hungry. Next time we’ll stick to their delicious Chile verde or just skip the food altogether if it’s too spicy for us.

A new discovery on my drive back from Palm Springs and they did not disappoint. I originally wanted menudo, but they Chile verde caught my eye and went for a burrito. It was really really good. Spicy, they way I like with no salsa needed. Tried a few other items as well and the second best item was the shredded beef hard taco. The meat was delicious. I also tried the ground beef version of the taco and it was good, but probably not something I would order again because the shredded beef was so good. Last but not least, I also ordered a carnitas burrito which was also good, but again not something I would order over the Chile verde. I also prefer my carnitas chunky and it was shredded here. All in all, two great dishes and two good ones. I also like that their green salsa is spicier than the red one. I’ll take all green sauce next time I stop by.

Not sure about the other items on the menu, I been going to this place for years IYKYK. I’ve only ever gotten the Chile Verde Burrito because that’s all I ever want. Each day the chile verde is cooked at. different spice levels so call ahead of time to see what the spice is like. I prefer when the ‘thermometer’ rest somewhere around hot/medium. You can always ask for extra green salsa ( which is spicy and fresh) to add for you liking. Consuelo’s is one of those places that you always know exactly what you’re going to get, their consistency is unwavering. Always satisfying. Side note: even though at one time you could dine in, they’ve eliminated all the tables now, so to go orders only.

Reminds me of Mario’s tacos green chili combo burritos in Pico Rivera, Calf. but Consuelos has Mario’s beat hands down with better flavor, bigger burritos but they should reopen the dining room . Plenty of parking safe atmosphere moderately prize and most courteous service no attitude period.

Consuelos is advertised as an authentic Mexican restaurant with great food. I visited this place yesterday and it appears to be a local favorite as it stayed busy. I came with some co-workers who are also from other states. I ordered the shredded beef taco salad without olives (Dont judge m lol). I must say that it was great! It was a pretty big taco salad and the presentation was 👌. I would advise calling your order ahead as the lines can get long. If you dont they are good about getting everyones order In and letting you pay when you get to the window. Theres no seating to eat in so everything is to Go. I recommend. Only gave 4 stars cause Ive only had the taco salad

Conuelos has only carryout thus the atmosphere review. The service is good and friendly. The food is fabulous. Check the volcano on the wall for the heat value of the chili verde being served that day. I have tried much of what is on the menu but I go back for the chili verde. If you live nearby you know...if youre passing by, stop in and get something to take home or on the road. Its a quick stop in Banning just off the I10 freeway.

This is one of most authentic mexican restaurants I’ve been to.You can’t beat the quality and freshness.I’m here often and never been disappointed.I did find a hair in my burrito once that’s my only complaint. I drive from phx to so cal twice a week and this is the best stop off I-10 for Mexican food.

You dont want to wait until the end of the day to eat the best Mexican food in town, they take last orders around 6pm. They are in the kitchen bright & early, & this kitchen is run like a well oiled machine. Clean, A rated!No frills here, paper plates, paper cups,plastic utensils.Just hot delicious Mexican food!You order at the window and they bring it to your table. Sitting is sparse, one long communal table and a few side tables that accommodate 4 guests each.Dont expect a waitress to wait on you, they are busy in the kitchen.Its a large kitchen crew, but theyre busy cooking.You bring your smile and appetite & enjoy.I highly recommend the tortilla soup!

I expected better. Take out only. After seeing all the great reviews I was let down. The Carne asada was super dried out. The pasole was just ok, the enchilada was more like a cheese quesadilla. They wanted to charge extra to cut my burrito in half and could not tell me how much which I still cannot believe. Overall very little flavor. The only thing else I can say is that I wish I went to del taco instead.

I ordered the special which were tacos stringy beef tacos supposedly, the top I ordered the hard shell but it was more like a I dont know Indian taco shell kind of soft not hard and the meat inside wasnt really stringy it was in chunks and it was very chewy like thick hard to chew. Like it was a roast beef and they didnt shred it and it stayed in I think clump and it was hard to chew let alone swallow.Little bit of beans tiny bit of rice it was a $12 lunch without a drink.I was disappointed they dont its not as good as it used to be.

I come here around 3-4 times a week to get food. This place has amazing food and the sweetest ladies who work there. They are all so kind, friendly and helpful and really make you comfortable and in their establishment. Their customer service is the best, Ive heard people complain about having to wait 15 minutes to get their food but this is handmade quality food and they move so fast and have tons of customers. I have never seen this place not busy because of the quality of the food. You can also call ahead of time and place and order and walk right in and go to the pick up line and get your food right away. Such a great place, so glad someone recommended it to me.

My personal favorite is the potato taco, but other items such as their burritos and quesadillas are a staple for me. They have ample parking in the lot next to the building, and it is beautifully landscaped with large cacti and other succulents. The wait time for your order can be short to moderate (depending on what you order), but it is always worth the wait! It is very popular in the late morning through lunch until they close. If youre in the area during their business hours, stop by and get a taste of what the locals are eating!

There are many Mexican restaurants all over the place. However, Consuelos Mexican restaurant is a hidden gem. Their Chile Verde burrito Wow:) the best without a doubt. I get my burrito with Chile Verde and rice, no cheese no beans. The meat and Chile Verde are cooked to perfection. The meat is tender and salsa Verde spicy just the way I like it. Stopped here in a Tuesday afternoon ordered the chicken enchiladas and although they were good, I wasn’t impressed with the size. For the price, $13.85, I expect the plate to be bigger. With the large drink it came out to over $18. I could have easily eaten another enchilada. The place was busy and this was my first visit. Family owned and operated, what sets this place apart from a lot of the other hometown favorite Mexican food restaurants is that this place is always clean. That, and the fact that their specialty, the Green Burrito, will light you up! They have a thermometer next to the order window that displays how much heat the green burritos have each day. All the customers picking up food were wearing masks and showing general courtesy.But none of the 8+ employees of Consuelos were wearing masks. Not one. If you believe in science, this might not be the place for you and you family during the pandemic. Well be back... after we get the much awaited vaccine comes in a year or so. Friendly staff and very attentive. The place is small, but very clean. The food though, I give it a 2star at best. I would not call this authentic Mexican food, they have a long way to go. The best Chile verde burrito for miles around! On top of that, if you take the time to get to know these people, they are the friendliest place youll ever eat. When you order in they serve you chips and salsa for free while youre waiting to be served as is the custom in most real Mexican restaurants. Take the time to read about them in the pictures they have on the wall - this place is historic and has been in the family for generations. One caution, however - pay attention to the thermometer on the wall which says how hot the chili VerdeVerde is for that day. Stopped in here on our way home from Palm Springs. This is a small place where you can call ahead, buy food at the counter to go, or sit and enjoy it if theres a table available. If you eat in they give you free chips and salsa and bring the food out to your table. My husband and I each had a burrito. This is my second time coming here food is delicious, because my mom told me about this place. Today this short women with long braided ponytail with a red bow with glasses was not friendly at all. She never greeted nor smiled she acted as if she didnt want us there period so my mom and I sat down at the table to wait for our food and then she took the next customers order complete 180 she greeted and laughed with her and said thank you to her just for ordering and she was a white woman.
