I almost chocked with my food .I had ordered chop suey with chicken. With white rice. I was eating when a piece of shell 🐚 lucky I was able to throw out.look at my plate found another piece of shell. I told the owner gave another plate but I was scared. I should have just got a refund. Ate here before food great. I dont know if I will go back.

Very friendly service. The food was good not great. I think I need to learn what their best dishes are. I really liked the beef chow fun. Fried rice was okay. I was not happy with the tangerine chicken, not because there was anything wrong with it but because I used to get it at another place and this was differently prepared and not what I was hoping for. My search for a replacement continues. I will definitely give them another try.

I was so happy to find this place!!! Portions are generously giant and the taste was absolutely superb! Anytime I’m around Atwater Village again, I’m coming here no question! LOOK AT THIS PORTION!!! Decent quality ingredients, low quality cooking and very large portions. The fried rice was nasty probably refried three times and reheated. There were crunchy what I think was salt crystals in my food, perhaps msg. I would not come back. I prefer quality over quantity.

As mentioned in other reviews, you get plenty for your money. Their menus are indeed a steal, and the food is pretty decent (only went there once though). Service is good, the servers are very nice and they take care of you quickly.If youre looking for a pretty good Chinese restaurant where youll get almost 2 meals for the price of one, this is the place!

I would never suggest to eat at this place. How do you offer customer shrimp fried rice with the mud vein still in the shrimp. When asked about it the waiter tells me that they try to get it all out if they cant they just leave it. Clearly in this picture below you can see that they could have pulled it all the way out especially since they slice it open to get some of it out. I stated that I didnt really get shrimp fried rice he didnt really seem to care to accommodate us for paying that money for shrimp fried. Dont go there .... Yucky....

Amazing service very friendly and the food is delicious. The atmosphere and food taste takes me back to 80s & 90s authentic Chinese cuisine style. Instead of the new and fusion tastes that you will typically find anywhere. This is a hidden jem in my opinion.

I wish that this could be a five star review, but as it is, I must share my experience. I visited this location on 12/01/2022, I was in town working and thought that I’d grab something new for dinner to take home. I ordered the crab meat fried rice and the chicken chow mein. The chicken chow mein was very fresh and I loved the crunch of the, veggies and bean sprouts, which was consistently throughout the noodles. The rice was not greasy and was seasoned just right, BUT, it had absolutely NO CRAB MEAT, there was residue of crab but NO CRAB MEAT, and I’m not exaggerating. I’m not sure if this is how this restaurant serves their regulars or not but this is what I received on my first time visit. The rice was really tasty and I would love to try it again someday WITH CRAB.

This place has been around a long time though I dont know if under the same ownership. This is a neighborhood restaurant.The food is good with some items being markedly better than others. Their noodles like chow fun and chow mein are always good. Their pork rib appetizer is really good and very meaty & their pot stickers are also excellent though only offered in chicken and not pork.I am happy they survived the quarantine and gentrification of the neighborhood.

Unreal. So good. A fly in amber from the 80s with the best fresh fried fish filets in spicy salt you’ve ever experienced. The tangerine chicken? Real chicken. A mountain of juicy cluck-cluck. Jasmine tea… divine. Shrimp fried rice was exactly what it says it is. Love Coral Reef.

The ambiance is nice and peaceful. Their shrimp and snow peas are delicious. You can order the spicy shrimp instead of the regular one. Their fried rice is cooked beautifully. Not too soft and not overcooked. Their waiters were cordial and the food was brought to our table shortly after we ordered it. Of course they also provide you with a pot of tea.

Our food was really good, lots of food for a very reasonable price. The eggrolls I got were probably the best Ive gotten, very fresh food and hot. We got the chicken friend rice was a bit lacking in flavour and seemed to be missing soy sauce in its recipe. However, the rest of the meal was more than satisfying. Also they have boba, so you already know this is the spot.

Growing up in the area, I have eaten here many times. The owner has changed over the years but the taste and quality is still the same. The food is great and its hard to find something on the menu that I dont like. The bathrooms are old and decrepit. Other than that I like the place. The owners and workers are very friendly. Food comes out fast and rarely with an issue. Its not mind blowingly great bit its good Chinese food.

Broccoli beef was superb. Incredibly tender and not chewy beef, broccoli was perfect, sauce a fine blend light sweet, portion is very generous and very reasonably priced. Could use a little more decor but fine for low profile and the price matches. Great choice. Would be fine with children although I dont see a high chair.

Not good. Was in town with my wife on a vacation. Stopped in at about 8:15pm. The egg rolls were flavorless, the fried butterfly shrimp were barely seasoned, and the Tangerine Chicken had almost no sauce on it.My wife got shrimp fried rice and the rice looked like it had never seen soy sauce and half the shrimp still had the mud vein. She also mentioned their bathroom looking a wreck.Maybe it was late so they just didnt care, but the food other people were getting seemed fine. Not sure what it was, but I cant recommend. There are a lot of other restaurants within walking distance, so they should step up their game.

I picked this restaurant due to the reviews i read but i must say I was a little disappointed with some of the food I got. The kung pao shrimp was lacking the cashew nuts and it definitely wasnt as spicy as expected. The sweet and sour chicken didnt come with extra sauce on the side so it was a little dry. The ambiance seems really comfortable and prices are affordable. Theres public parking nearby.

Second time I was dined here. Hot and sour soup was average, neither hot, nor sour. Eggrolls were good, although a bit light on filling. Main dish was spicy chicken. When they said spicy, they werent kidding. Chicken, green peppers, chili peppers (pepperocini) and Thai chili peppers. I loved it! Had a hard time setting aside half to take home. Portions are large and inexpensive. I will keep going back for lunch.

I had high hopes for this resturant because I love any kind of Asian food, but their shrimp chop suey was not good what so ever. The shrimp, I believe was not fresh, which made the whole dish taste really off. They also used a large amount of cabbage in the dish. Not the traditional veggies Ive normally gotten from other Chinese restaurants.I also had a dull stomachache after eating a small portion. My suggestion is always make it fresh, especially if its seafood.

This is good, authentic Chinese food. Its not fast food. You actually get to sit at a table, someone takes your order, and brings your food to you. The food is delicious and plentiful. We particularly like the Yang Chow fried rice, Kung Pao Chicken and Moo Shu pork. Yum... now I want some.UPDATE: Since COVID-19, the restaurant has been pick up only and does not have a delivery service. I think thats good. I would rather my local restaurant get the money it needs to survive than a DoorDash or other service that isnt on its last breath trying to stay alive. We just ordered from them and Im looking forward to a really good dinner!

Just a few days ago, we had a huge event in this restaurant. We were celebrating a baby shower. We wanted to do atleast 90 seats and they were very comfortable telling us that everybody can fit comfortably. If you have been to this place or if you have not, let me describe it to you, the ground floor is where the dining area is and the upstairs is where the bathrooms are. You can see the kitchen at the dining area, and you would think that this place is small and that 90 people comfortably can take up the whole entire restaurant. The party was planned at 4PM so we expected them to set the place up around 345 at least. We are not paying a lot of money for something done so poorly. In the middle of the restaurant, there was still people ordering food, and non of the owners even moved them. The customers were the one who was nice enough to move themselves. After the set up was done, the owners still kept 2 booths in the corner for regular customers and the rest of the seats was crowded and not comfortable at all. I was disappointed how we were treated. People would still come in and either go all the way in the corner and pass our event, disturbing or just be in the middle and they would process it in their heads, oh wait, they are probably closed. The food we felt like was changed. We specifically ordered food that has no pork, strictly no pork but some of the dishes, they have cooked it with the forbidden meat. we paid $1700+++ for a normal and average party and they made it felt like below average and for the amount that we paid, we felt like that we are not important. I would never ever go back to this place.

My family has eaten at this restraunt for 2 decades and I personally from childhood. The food is tasty, fresh, and fairly priced. Personally I prefer the meat dishes but there is a selection of vegetable dishes. I always order the house special seafood soup followed by a plate of barbecue pork. A plate of braced string beans is always delicious. Furthermore, deep fried whole flounder as my main course with a plate of shrimp fried rice with egg as my regular order. There is seating for 8 people at a table with a lazy susan to aid servings. Finally if its hot out you can just come in and buy a drink.

👎My family brought me home Wor Wonton Soup since they were there eating. I took a bite of one shrimp and it started to just fall apart & collapse into nastiness. Ive eaten tons of shrimp....that is nasty and not normal. Something was definitely wrong with it. I spit it straight out. The other piece of shrimp had poop...a string of Shrimp PooPoo hanging from it. Still attached 😨😷😖in a whole pot of wonton soup, between cooking,stirring and spooning into the to-go container how in the heck did a whole poop hang on...EWWWWWW!!
