It’s been over 10 years since I was here….still solid choice for Korean bbq food. I gave it a 4 star vs a 5 since the cold noodle soup lost a bit of its flavor and they have put no effort/money into updating its restaurant, but that goes for most Korean restaurants 😂.

Great family-oriented authentic Korean BBQ. Very unassuming and friendly, with large portions. Almost everyone eating there, and working there, was Korean, which is a great sign of its authenticity. They offer parking in their small lot in front and across the street at a secured parking lot. Id suggest wearing clothes you dont mind washing as your clothing will inevitably smell like BBQ smoke from the Hibachi burners at each table.

Some of the best kbbq meats I’ve had in ktown - get #11, #12 and #13. There’s a combo set for $120 to choose 3 meats - such a good deal! They’re also known for their cold noodles which pairs so well with the meat.The atmosphere and the service is a bit lacking, but the food makes it all worth it.

Delicious and fast, attentive service.We ordered kalbi, dongchimi gutsu noodles, chicken bento lunch plate. We splitted the noodles between 2 people and they served it to us with 2 bowls.Everything was superb. Kalbi and chicken was delicious, perfectly marinated and cooked.

Great place to come if you are craving for non marinated kbbq n cold noodle dish. More of a calm place compare to brothers BBQ or Ahgashi. wife n I like to come here time to time to enjoy the noodle n kbbq combo. If you like marinated kbbq this might not be the spot for you. They do have marinated meat but def not as good as the other two place I just mentioned. I always go for 1 order of no. 12 n 1 order of cold noodle for my wife n I. the meat portion is pretty good(for no.12) so try one order first n see if u need to order more. Parking is very limited w no valet. If you cant find parking, go across the street where they have more parking space. Oh n the ventilation is not the best so dont plan anything fancy after the meal cause u will smell like kbbq.... like a lot. @_@;

The Corner Place is hands down my best Korean gogijip () for cold noodles ( ). Ive been going to this place for the last couple of years and its always packed and the moment you step inside, it smells like meat heaven. When my friends and I come here, we always order our own bowl of cold noodles and #12 on the menu (Ghilmok Gui or their House special). Just a side note, I noticed that the restaurant recently expanded next door so you wont have to wait as much.Whats different from the house special and their regular short rib is that theres less sauce so its not as sweet compared to the regular short rib. I feel thats all you ever need if you ever come to eat here. What Ive learned from friends is to order your cold noodles, grill your meat and eat both the meat and the noodles together...foodgasm~~~ Do not forget to order some garlic slices and grill them with a drizzle of sesame oil. Itll provide a nice flavor to your meat and noodles.Whether youre new to LA or visiting, this spot is a must try! Youll love the soup to the cold noodles, especially when the weather is extremely hot, which is almost everyday in LA. It has a decadent sweet taste to it and refreshes your body as you drink it.

If you want to have authentic Korean BBQ without the craziness of the other Korean BBQ places in Koreatown then try this place. It is old school. You feel like you are in Seoul at some of the old traditional restaurants. Not a modern place at all. You come here for family service and amazing cold noodles & bulgogi. About it. Nothing more. Try. You can eat in peace and actually listen to the person in front of you without having cup your ear.

My gosh. one of my favorite korean bbq place in koreatown. get the beef tongue paired deliciously with the cold noodle soup. its an amazing combination. the soup provides a refreshing tone in contrast to the greasy gogi (meat). theres a parking lot across the street from this place as well.

Im told that this is a popular place. Although Im glad to never have to wait for a table. Who has that kind of time. They have this unique cold noodle soup that I find is simply refreshing and the ying to the BBQ meats yang. The experience of eating one after the other and repeat is a virtuous cycle of complementary food experience. The bulgogi is sublime, tender and well marinated. They do everything just right. Some of the service staff have made their career at the restaurant (for decades). They know their products and serve you with confidence and ease. Love the experience repeatly and it is consistently great! 👍

They know what they’re doing! I had their vegan dongchimi noodles. Love neangmyun but this is nice in that it’s vegan. Definitely an authentic spot. Seemed like that had BBQ too. I was sad we went to a touristy spot that literally gave us little to none of the side dishes. Wish we’d gone here!

This is a classic Korean restaurant weather famous for the cold picked radish rice noodles. Start with the barbecue beef and then you finish off what does most refreshing noodles. You should drink the broth to wash down all that meat and Ill help you digest. The gotta eat right and then youll feel right. Park across the street theres plenty of parking there. A definite place to eat in K-Town.

I have been coming here for years with my family since I was a kid and this was where I had my first Korean bbq experience. The galbi and bulgogi is always good every time I come. The cold noodles is by far the best cold noodles I have ever tasted (and I have had a lot of cold noodles). It is not an all you can eat restaurant but it is definitely worth paying a bit extra for the quality of meat here. The wait time can be long but you can kill time going into the market next door. The parking lot can be a pain to find parking but you can also try the parking lot directly across the street too.

Hmm... everyone had raved about the dongchimi guksu here... but the day I got it, it was so smelly. The radish broth was over fermented to the point I lost my appetite trying to eat. Really wanted to like it, but it was impossible. Wish there was also some extra content in the noodles, like slices of cucumbers, an egg, or a slice of beef—something. Might have to go and try on another day.

Love the food at this place. Started coming here about 5 years ago and it never disappoints. I highly recommend the bulgoki. The parking lot and staff leave a lot to be desired however. Youll have to deal with a security guard telling you where and how to park. In spaces that are shrunk down by about a third no less. Then youll inevitably deal with female servers who eat behind the counter, ignore you unless youre Korean, and are less than helpful/friendly. If you can get past those two things, youll enjoy some delicious food.

I have been coming to Gil Mok since 1991, when #11 Kalbi was just $9.95. It is still my favorite Korean BBQ place. I have moved out to Las Vegas since 2006, but every time I come to L.A. I make a visit, even during COVID take out only, it was packed to go and still delicious like sitting at the restaurant. I would always get Kalbi, its the only place I noticed that its cut up in cubes and not on bones...I LOVE THAT!!! and lightly marinated and most importantly, its NOT SWEET! I dont like sweet meat. I hope they will stay open for as long as Im still alive!!!

Its been over 20 years since last time I visited the corner place. This restaurant used to be very popular especially for their water kimchee soba noodle. Its been so long since I had the noodle soup but I think they still got it. Here is how you enjoy the meal. You pick out the grilled meat and dip into that salt/oil sauce, then eat the piece of meat, then immediately slurp in that chopstick full of chilled noodle. Its that perfect flavor combination. You just had that temperature hot piece of meat thats chewy and meaty, savory, salty, tad sweet, along with extremely chilled vinegary, sweet, and refreshing broth. You simply dont get this culinary experience else where. Try it and thank me later. Oh and they got the best pieces of tongue meat!

The service was downright rude and mostly nonexistent. Nothing here could justify the high prices. Perhaps skip the bbq and just order the $8 cold noodle soup, but they might simply kick you out. There are a million kbbq places in LA and one can live a full and happy life without ever trying this place. Some Koreans are fond of this place because it is one of the older establishments (the nostalgia factor) but move on, nothing to see here.

This has been my favorite place to eat cold noodles for more than a decade! AYCE may be the popular thing, but corner place has it beat on quality. I miss it and crave it every time it gets hot. Now I can only get it when Im visiting family back home. Dongchimi guksu with some Korean bbq is one of my favorite things to eat after a long hike. Cant go wrong with any of the meat options, theyre all so tasty!

Authentic Korean food that’s known especially for dongchimi. I would recommend the cold noodle soup for sure (hits the spot on a hot day) and the ugeoji tang (comes with rice and more seasoned beef). The korean bbq menu items all taste great but the portions are small for the price you pay.Parking is limited at the plaza (most of the spots are reserved for the mart next door) but there are plenty of spots right across the street.

I love Gilmok aka Corner Place! Both their marinated galbi and house galbi are great. It is NOT AYCE, however. Also a little pricier than your average KBBQ spot in Ktown, but youre paying for better quality! The meat is delicious and the portions are not bad either! My favorite is their dongchimi gooksu. I would suggest going in a small group of 3-4, order a few rounds of galbi and get a dongchimi gooksu each!Good for groups or family gatherings!

Stuff is set B are great. I forget the english names as i always read korean side of the menu but my favorite was 로스구이 (Ross gooi). If you are getting set A instead, id order pork belly 삼겹살 (Samgyeopsal) Also, make sure to ask for rice and soup-- i guarantee their soup is amazing, even more so with rice.Their side dishes are pretty standard for Korean style dining, but majority are focused on radish dish. If you arent used to korean flavors it might not be suited for your palettes, but at least try the radish and its soup once before judging. For me, they are too sweet-- im too used to salty and acidic flavor.Their noodle is very good too, which i alway recommend my friends to have here.

Came here because Eaters raved about their korean cold noodle. The noodle didnt disappoint. Yes It is barebone but the soup has the perfect balance between sweet and sour, the perfect complement to the grill meat in a hot summer day. Now, Corner Place being a BBQ restaurant, I have to say the meat quality is average at best. Banchan are what you would expect and staffs quickly replenishes them if you ask for refill. With the plethora of choices in Los Angeles, I dont see a 2nd visit here.
