We hadnt been into Crazy Ottos for over 30 years and felt it was time to see if anything had changed. Other than the building was no longer right next to the railroad tracks, it was still just as good as we remembered. The atmosphere is great and the food is even better. They dont serve an omelet on a plate - its served on a platter simply because its that big!

Biggest plate of food I have EVER been served! Love the food and wonderful staff who actually take pride in their work for a business who helps as more local causes than anyone knew even exist in town. Lovely, it is absolutely no wonder why they have been voted best sooooo many times over the years! Check them out for sure, dont miss the opportunity if you are passing through.

Great experience. Better than the other Ottos on Ave I. It is small, but quaint. The servers are very nice abs the food is delicious and portions size are nice (especially pancakes) Parking is a bit tight, and unusual, but still enough for the size of the diner. Good price point was good two meals $46 dollars and it was a lot of food. My new favorite Crazy Ottos to go to.

Food was good but corn beef hash and hash browns and stuff needed salt badlyBut such huge portions. Way too much. Need to focus more on tj3 Seasoning of everything instead of too much food. Better to be high quality then quantity. My mom asked for half of a Denver omelets and they brought out an omelete that could feed 4 people. And she was like thats half? They said yes. Too much food . Got thrown out. I dont eat leftovers. If you go share. But beware the savory food needs major Seasoning too bad because if it was it would have been perfect. Love that they make a lot of homemade stuff. Yummy pancakes.

There is plenty of parking all around the restaurant. Once I walked in, I was greeted by the girl at the door and was immediately seated.All the waiters & waitresses were hustling, attentive and friendly. The establishment was clean and there was enough tables/seating. And just FYI, they also have some tables outside for those who would like to get that fresh air while they eat.I ordered Hobo eggs and added sausage to my breakfast plate (PSA: plate is HUGE!!!! It can serve a family of four easily. ) I also choose biscuits with gravy and a hot delicious, and smooth coffee. 😋Overall, a great experience and I left with leftovers.

Stop by for a hearty breakfast, and it was delicious. We ordered the Popeye Omelet with avocado slices on top and the pork chops. They loaded the omelet with bacon & spinach. Oooh and the pork chops were thick, large, and juicy.You wont be disappointed.

Poor customer service, waitresses have bad attitudes.Gave my order and requested A1 sauce, waited 5min after my order had arrived before I flagged down another waitres for the A1, mind you it was not busy at all. Im a good tipper but left with no tip given. not one waitress came by to see if we needed anything while we were there. I will never go there again.

The menu was a tad bit pricey, but for the portions they serve here, I guess its not that bad after all. The waiter was a SUPER awesome dude and the atmosphere was casual. What struck both my son and I as odd was the fact that their menu offers half portions of every menu item for a $1.00 less than the regular price? Not for nothing, but its not Rocket Science when it comes to which ones the better option, full meal at $16.99 or half the meal at $15.99.Other than that I guess its an alright place to go and grab yourself a quick bite.

Went here for breakfast. Outdoor covered patio was nice. They had a heat lamp and also another heater on the ground. Service was good and they were friendly. Portion size is good for the price. I like that biscuits and gravy is an option included for toast when ordering a full breakfast. The only bump in the road was the 10oz ribeye. Size was good, seasoning was good, but I ordered it medium rare and it came out medium well. If youre a steak person like me you know that totally changes the flavor and texture of the steak. My daughter had the Belgian waffle and she said it was ok. Better to get the pancakes. Other than that its a great place to grab breakfast. I highly recommend it.

Yum. Both times at Crazy Ottos has been everything I wanted in a breakfast diner. Weve ordered country fried steak, eggs and bacon platter, and eggs benedict-- food is tasty and portions are extremely generous (hash browns for days). Weve done takeout and dined outside. Service was great and they let us bring the pup on the patio 😊

This is a little, decorated restaurant you’ll find in a place which seems to be in the middle of nowhere. Everything is built up into presentation on breakfast and later meals. Assortments of in-building decor will allow visitors some eye candy near the tables close to ends where touching walls meet into Crazy Otto’s harmony of atmosphere. People often come here for biscuits and gravy since both are homemade recipes conceived of in genius for environmental tasks across the lobby, a room filled with funny memorabilia we see on road trips between California and other exact parts of America. Eggs can be made into whatever style preferred although I may suggest going easy on hot sauce or ketchup. But that’s just preference, nothing more. A lot of meals are imagined well by Crazy Otto’s. Particulars include hamburger patty meals for breakfast and even country fried steak that both give me a tasty, flavorful experience on Lancaster’s proper proportions of dining and general entertainment. Workers, crew members, are often on the case for helping customers out with pride and dignity and aren’t like those cashiers we see at certain fast food places who save face with rough hands. Don’t get me wrong; McDonald’s can be very good, but this Crazy Otto’s Diner should be more of an obligation for guys who truly enjoy the pleasure of dining and eating out. Customers are friendly here too and it’s not unusual to dip into some small talk with a gentleman who’s out with his family. It’s very crowded every time we come in. Refills of coffee are typical; that’s good. I’ve been at ease on a lot of tasks since my family enjoys the whole independence assumed from getting out for to dine. Food usually comes steaming hot as far as my own visits are concerned but I’ll leave it up to the whole community to decide for themselves. Besides a nice time out for a bite you’ll find Crazy Otto’s across the way between various markets. Walmart isn’t far off and it feels good to bug a worker there about Crazy Otto’s during the heat of traffic, so there’s hope for elements mattered into reality before us on a high note to perfection in restaurant, dining, and personal communication given between us at the local restaurant just mentioned. Plates and utensils here are readily clean and available. The omelettes are especially surprising: big, giant plates topped with ingredients and plenty of hash browns which stretch across the plate almost entirely itself. Honestly, me and my family have had to put in our excellence of manners as well, but we’ll get our just desserts over the years into the upcoming decades as road trips are imagined and pardoned by humorous reality within our hearts.

Crazy Otto’s is a small chain of diners serving standard American diner food, and honestly, nothing particularly crazy. They also have a “no substitutions” policy, which is tough enough at almost any other nicer restaurant where some thought and artistry goes into their foods, but pretty inexcusable when youre really just serving standard diner food and patrons like us hope that we might be able to create a meal for ourselves, even if we are vegetarians, or people with gluten-free diets. For example my wife wanted an omelette with avocado and wanted no meat in it. They were happy to take the meat out but to add spinach it was $3.25, which seemed pretty ridiculous, or in the terminology of the restaurant crazy.I had a cheese omelette made with egg whites. It was definitely large but nothing special. The egg whites were a little overcooked, the cheese didnt have much flavor, and the hash-browns were really just a bunch of undercooked potatoes, with no discernible seasoning.The food did come out insanely fast, so I guess kudos for the quick service, if only any of it was any good. Please restaurants, take your time with my food and make it right.My wife also ordered her hash-browns well done. They came out essentially burned and inedible. Considering the ones I had on my omelette were undercooked and under-seasoned Im wondering if Crazy Otto’s could find a crazy medium between not cooked enough and potatoes served directly out of the sun.I had a biscuit as my bread choice. I love biscuits and Ive had them with breakfast at restaurants all over our fine nation. This was probably the worst biscuit Id ever had. It was terrible! It almost had the flavor of a biscuit but the texture was awful. It says right on their menu they have the “best biscuits in town.” Well to be fair this is the only biscuit Ive had in Lancaster, and Id say, compared to what Ive had in the rest of the United States of America, Lancaster really needs to up their biscuit game if this is the best they have to offer.My wife added tortillas to her meal so she could have a gluten-free bread choice. She did kind of enjoy the spinach and avocado that she pulled out of her eggs, wrapped in the tortillas (A sort of roll-your own breakfast quesadilla) There was of course an extra fee for the tortillas and no other gluten free bread options available.On the positive side our son really enjoyed his french fries and sourdough toast. Well done Otto’s as for not stirring up french fries and toast. Perhaps this can be a building block for your future success.I cant speak much to the cleanliness of the restaurant either. The paper napkins they gave us actually stuck to the table. They were nice enough to come and clean it again and dry it off so that didnt happen a second time. But not really great first impression on their regular table cleaning process.They did offer half sizes on their insanely large omelettes for just a dollar less. Which is cool though considering the amount of food that they gave you perhaps more than a dollar off would be warranted for these fairly expensive omelettes.If youre considering eating at Ottos, Id suggest youd be better off just mailing the $20 to Otto and then eating somewhere else.

I love the diner atmosphere, I was very disappointed with the constant plate crashing from the people bussing the tables every time they go to put the plates in the bin. CRASH, CRASH. It was like a companion for them who can make the loudest or who could drop them from the highest level.

Almost no seasoning on the food which was disappointing since I came specifically to try the country fried steak and biscuits and gravy. I dont see the point in having steak and gravy without spices unless your system just cant handle it. My boyfriend got the avocado bacon omelette which was worth trying again, just had to add salt. Ive been here dozens of times. The most recent visit was a pleasure, and for a while, we had completely stopped coming. This time, our server was polite and prompt, the food was expertly prepared (best over medium eggs in town), and the portions were generous. The prices reflect CA inflation and wages, so be prepared for $20 a plate, but if you dont dine out often, its a great exception to make.I strongly recommend going on a weekday to avoid the otherwise long wait for a table.

Crazy Ottos runs like a dam ant colony. Was about 5-10 minute wait. The moment you get seated theyre ready to grab your order for drinks, they bring your drinks and theyre ready for you to place your orders for your food. Once your done with your meal and youre leaving they immediately clean the table to restart the process, AMAZING. The food itself was really good too. I got the homemade corned beef hash, and it was bomb!! I got biscuits and gravy with the side of pancakes. Everything had a very unique taste. My first time coming here and was really impressed. Price wasnt too bad either. I definitely recommend if you havent been already.

You want that deep down diner feel? You want amazing portions? This is the place to go! A bit pricey but you will be full or unable to finish. Staff was great too. Sorry to say but the coffee was terrible, even if it was endless. Also, they do give military discount, but only the portion of the bill that was the military members, even if they are paying for the whole bill.

While the coffee is excellent, and the food and service are consistently good, Im disappointed by their hike in prices. I went here recently with my 6-year-old daughter and ordered a breakfast burrito and kids pancake with a coffee and glass of milk, and ended up paying around $50 with tip. I understand that things are generally more expensive nowadays but $12.50 for a kids pancake and $4 for a glass of milk seem excessive to me. Ive been coming here since I moved to the Antelope Valley about 11 years ago, but unfortunately, this past visit was my last.

Been going to this franchise since it was originally located on sierra hwy near ave j in Lancaster. Back then the whole place would rumble whenever a train came by being so close to the tracks. The customers loved it because Otto had a wheel that the staff would spin each time a train came by and if the number matched your table your meal was free

Definitely a good place to have an early breakfast my wife and I have been coming here for about four years now and the place has very decent food the portions were impressive and the prices were fair the service was good but recently we had breakfast here and the prices are not much higher but the portions are definitely smaller the worst part is that the service was not as good as it used to be and the discomfort of having to hear the kitchen staff singing to loudmusic while trying to have a conversation is not pleasant. This is still a good place for early service, but well have to see if the service improves. Otherwise, I would have to go elsewhere. Ps their biscuits and gravy are the best around in the AV, but again, we will have to see if the service matches the $$.

This place is just ok. Nothing amazing by any means. The country fried steak has a very crappy batter on it and is like super thin. The steak is real steak though. Looks like thin ribeye (over cooked to shoe leather). The gravy is super bland - i had to screw off the pepper top and salt top to add enough to my two small bowls of gravy. Bacon was soft and not crispy (i prefer mine crispy - its $5 for 4 pieces btw lol). Egg yolks over cooked for over easy. So, country fried steak plate + side of bacon + coffee = $21.70... Kinda pricey.Also the omlets are big but $12-13 ehh... Kinda pricey.2 stars only.

The prices are a little high but the food is of the high quality so we dont mind that.The servers are very efficient without being in your face and are and are very enjoyable.Got a chance to meet one of our favorite TV stars last time we were there, comma Emilio Rivera from Mayans M myanzee was dining next to us and was very friendly and took pictures and signed autographs with the weight staff and us! My husband and I always go to crazy Ottos its more expensive than other places but u get a lot of food. I always order the pork chops and eggs for breakfast. There are two crazy Ottos where we live we always go to the one closest to our house this time however we were coming from somewhere else and went to the other oneI ordered my usual pork chops and eggs and when I got my food my chops were sliced five times each long slices making them look like a baseball mit. I asked the waitress why and told her Ive never seen anything like that she said maybe it was to make sure they were done well thats not what I do for that anyway I took a bite and of course it was dry the juices had all run out onto the grill, the waitress asked if I wanted something else and of course I said no u never want to make your cook mad I just paid for them and the eggs and potatoes and took the chops home to my dogs . That was the only time Ive been disappointed at crazy OttosSo if you want pork chops dont go to the crazy Ottos on 20th and k in Lancaster.

They used to own an actual train car they converted into a cafe, parked right next to the train tracks. Last Sunday I went there had order to go. Got to office and the order was incorrect. I called a young lady told me to bring it all back! I felt she did not believe me. I reiterated youre kidding me theyre in the middle of eating mine was missing. She assured me if we brought it all back she would look at it. Everyone but myself was in the middle of eating. So, I had to grab everybodys order and take it back it was a huge inconvenience. The office was was pretty upset with me because I took it but the owner took care if it. Make all fresh and it only caused an hour-and-a-half delay. The girl was very sorry and cried but nobody offered a free meal that was very surprising. I know she learned the hard way about customer service I think I would have given at least my meal for free. I had to drive there twice and it cost about an hour and a half of my time. I heard another waitress say she felt sorry for her that it broke her heart to see her cry. The owner tried to explain. I really wanted to tell them try to explain it two men that are starving workers, I took the meal away from their face as they were eating it. Plus, they were field engineers they were costing me $200 an hour. It lost an hour and a half to come back get the meals and drive back. Two field engineers an 1 1/2 wage for eating and waiting and eating again waiting for me to come back was fun, $600 lunch. I was going to get my money back but they wanted a healthy big breakfast or actually lunch at that point. I really felt like it should have been comped not offer to me. I would have definitely giving it to me for free for the wait. One of the waiters understood and agreed. The other waitress brought it to my attention how sad it was to see her cry. I have to tell you inside my heart I was crying for the 600.00 I was losing. Next time I will check my bags before leaving the food is excellent there great portions wonderful wonderful cook.

Okay well Im sorry to write this review. Ive been eating at crazy Ottos pretty regularly for more than 30 yrs. My wife and I ordered take out around 4 months ago and it was just awful. The prime rib was tough and almost inedible.Then we ordered again last Wednesday, wanting to try again knowing that it must have been a flook. Again the prime rib was very tough and this it was literally inedible. I tried to call and register a complaint and the man who answered the phone said that there was no supervisor there and that a manager wouldnt be available until the weekend. I asked where I could register a complaint and was told he really doesnt think its possible until the weekend. Thats why Im writing this review. Because there was no where to complain. Ive been a regular customer since way back when Scotty owned them. It breaks my heart to write this!

This is my second chance at a piece of Crazy Ottos prime rib. I tried to get it at the Ave. I location for dinner, but there was no rare available. The next morning, I tried again for breakfast at 11a.m. and still cant get a rare piece.I had the ham steak and pouched eggs instead and it was really tasty. So not a total loss.

Very disappointed! Fries were soggy as if there were from the night before. The Philly Cheesesteak was dry and tasted like it too was from yesterday. I will stick to the one on Ave I

We dont co.e here to often but when we do its a great time. My husband and I brought my parents here who were visiting from out of town. And they just loved it. They couldnt even finish their plates.they took pictures and all. Plus they played the train games for the kids while we were there. And a side note my dad love the fact their was a licence plate with his actual name on it!! JD😉

Great food.... Excellent breakfast plates!... Ask for the big plates... Theyre only a few bucks more but you get your moneys worth!... Then split the plate! One issue though. They didnt honor my coupon for some reason.

Decided to try someplace new while in the area, and do not regret it at all! What DELICIOUS food and the staff was so hospitable. Would highly recommend the hot beef plate- It. Was. Amazing. If you are in the Lancaster area, give this place a try!

The sausage breakfast burrito was filled with raw onions and Ortega chilies that weren’t fully cooked. Other food has been good, but this breakfast burrito turned me away big time.

Been coming here for a long time, but today was very disappointing. I order my usual breakfast, Denver omelet with extra, extra crispy hashbrowns. Get my meal with hash half cooked, asked to get more crispy, and then I hear the cook in the back, saying will see if this is good enough in Spanish. I speak Spanish. You shouldnt be complaining about it and just do as per customers request. I am paying for my meal. Then Im told thats as good as its going to get. I dont think its as good as it gets, its a lack of effort on your job. Very disappointed. I guess Ill just go somewhere else with my request of preference on my meal. It sucks the lack of customer service nowadays.

Highly disappointed. Yea it is a bit on the higher end but the plates are big. But I ordered the steak and asked for it medium and both times when I told them them it was too done and was well done instead they said that there isnt much blood in the steak so thats why it doesnt have any pink... ok but why then is my steak dry? They pretty much told me an excuse to why they cant cook a damn steak. Worst $50 I spent for my family to eat. Never going back

I just left crazy ottos and let me tell you... it was awful. I ordered the prime rib weekend special with over easy eggs. The prime rib did not have a lick of seasoning, bland. My eggs were stone cold. Disgusting.

Great food at a great price. The waitresses are friendly and always professional. I highly recommend it but make sure you fast....they serve a lot of delicious food..
