So good! Great menu and all of the food was delicious. Service was also amazing, and everyone had a great time.I recommend that breakfast sandwich, add some veggie and you’re in business! The coffee was delicious too.A great spot for brunch! Highly recommend it.

LOVEDDDDD this place! A vast menu with lots of vegetarian options, which I’m extremely grateful for. Was busy when we went, but we got seated fairly quickly. The service, atmosphere and the food were top notch. Seriously, everything was so good! And the portions for the price were generous. 5 stars!

The food and service were great here. The waitress said that everything is homemade, even the mayo. The food came out reasonably quick. It was a wonderful meal after a day of hiking. We enjoyed a couple turkey Reubens and a tuna melt. The side of Mac and cheese was perfect.

Very nice variety of vegan options for breakfast and dinner. Amazingly fluffy pancakes. We ordered the tofu with rancheros sauce for our young daughter because the waitress confidently told us it wasn’t spicy. Unfortunately, it was and she couldn’t eat it. But other than that we enjoyed our meals overall.

We had an average experience at Crossroads. We chose this place specifically for our post-hike meal because of the vegetarian options, but both of our dishes were underseasoned and unremarkable.We ordered the pancakes, soyrizo hash, and the huevos rancheros. The tortillas came cold, the potatoes in the hash were closer to uncooked than tender, and the rest of the meal lacked the flavor you expect from Texmex dishes.However, where other reviewers commented on possible racism or poor service, I though we received the opposite. Although it was quite busy, several servers came to check on us, took our order quickly, and brought our food out just as fast.I might not come back, but I can see why this place is a staple in JT.

I came here last weekend with my boyfriend who is white and there was little wait time and the food was good and the service was good. I come here this weekend with my sister and we’re both people of color and we watched a white family come in after us, be seated, receive their food, and eat their food before we even got our food and all we ordered was two grilled cheese sandwiches. When the waitress brought us water, there was stuff floating around in the water and it was extremely dirty and when I asked her for new water, she gave me an attitude. After waiting literally over an hour we decided to leave and when we told the other waitress, she also gave us an attitude.

Mediocre at best. The hostess seemed hungover and was not friendly, and the food was bland. We had the burrito which only had eggs inside, nothing else. Very little flavor.The corned beef hash, which apparently they are known for, was also extremely bland. Had to add lots of salt and ketchup to make it edible.Our server was very sweet and the environment is cool. Not sure why it was so busy though. Maybe a lot of tourists coming from Joshua Tree.

The taxidermy lynx on the wall made me cackle, it’s probably one of the funniest taxidermy’s I’ve seen in a while 😭🤣

Fun, quirky ambiance with delightful breakfast/lunch food!Was dropping through for a road trip and saw this place. Had great reviews and consistent photos of well-made eggs from other reviewers. We stopped in and were very delighted. Fun things to look at on the walls and a relaxed vibe with 60s rock music playing. Saw lots of people in punk jackets which brought me back lol.I got the TomTom club which had very fresh sprouts, and a Caesar salad that took up half the plate. My friend got an omelet biscuits and skillet potatoes and he also had huge portions. No complaints.They have two bathrooms available but they are small with no changing table. I think kids would be welcome but it might be awkward for new parents with hardback chairs and no booths. They have way more seating than it looks on the outside however, so dont be discouraged. Also they have outdoor seating.I would absolutely go again and would recommend it didnt even looking for a fun relaxing brunch. They also had beer and mimosas available But maybe next time for us.

Very nice cafe with a bar. We eat here often for lunch. Hamburgers and fries are very tasty, the burger is juicy. Normally I do not like the fries but these fries are addicting. California pesto is delicious as well as the California club. Friendly staff and this place is busy on the weekends, just put your name down and look around at near by shops.

Wandered into this lovely cafe while exploring downtown Joshua. Wish we had known it was good for breakfast food because we could have timed our stay better but we’re glad we stopped by regardless! We got the soup and salad combo, it was a great vegetable stop in the middle of a long road trip full of packaged food and junk. Home cooked goodness. The salad was hearty and flavorful, and the chicken cilantro soup is one of the best chicken soups I’ve ever had. The vegan chili was good too. I imagine the rest of the menu is just as tasty. Food came fast and staff was friendly. Highly recommend!

Great place for breakfast. We stopped here before entering the park. Nice decor with a good selection for breakfast. The service was prompt and the interior was pretty neat. The staff is friendly and I really like their house fried potatoes, the caramelized onions with the herbs really did the trick. My wife had the messie Jessie and it was great as well. Will definitely recommend this place.

Found a great food spot after an incredible day at JTNP!! It’s a nice little spot in town and I definitely recommend stopping by!First- It’s a small cozy little place that has a cool vibe and awesome food. After a long day of hiking we were craving some good local food and we got it. There’s some parking in the front and on the side street and behind as well. As long as you don’t walk in the back door. It’s got a small bar seating and some outdoor and indoor seating. The staff was friendly and attentive.Second-The food was really good! I got a simple Reuben that was made perfectly. Just the right amount of 1000 island. I’m a big chili guy so I had to try it and I got the three bean chili and I enjoyed it alot! It was well made. My fiancé got a burger and her friend got a salad. All four were good portions and good fresh quality. It was at a good price too. It was a small menu but it makes up for it for sure. Overall i HIGHLY recommend stopping here after visiting Joshua tree. Worth it

Highly recommend! The turkey sandwich was hearty with great bacon. Fresh salad. I could not rave enough about the biscuits and gravy. It was a special of the day. Not just good food, the Crossroads Café has terrific food! The French fries here are on the top of my list: They are fresh cut daily with skin on, and have a true, fresh potato taste. Our groups Hamburger Heaven burgers were cooked to perfection, exactly as ordered, and served on a brioche bun with house-made mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. The delicious vegan Impossible Burger was served the same way and equally good. And, the Tom Tom Club with smoked turkey, avocado, sprouts, tomato, and mayo, served on toasted sourdough bread with a cup of Three Bean Vegan Chili was also a big hit. -- Well be back soon to try more menu items! I love how every food served here came from love and just care not just for the business but for the customers as well. Fantastic breakfast spot! They were SLAMMED for Memorial Day weekend, which I think was a testament to the quality of their food. We had to wait over an hour, but we didnt mind. We explored some of the nearby shops. Once we ordered the food came out quick and the staff was super friendly. Definitely get there early and try to avoid some of the crowd. Come to this place every-time i’m in j tree and talk about to everyone i go with. went at 7:20 am and they were closed due to the kitchen not being set up. i get it stuff happens not a big deal. asked the server if we could sit inside and have a coffee and wait to which she said “no coffee is ready but we’re not open until the kitchen is” and then went right back to being to her phone. uuuh? i total am fine with waiting for food but to have people sitting outside in the cold instead of letting them inside makes no sense. she turned about 8 people away and had 2 guys sitting in the cold. i get stuff happens but being friendly is free. sadly i will not be returning there nor be telling others to go there as well

Overall: This place has potential but falls short.Atmosphere: After spending new years weekend in Joshua Tree, we came to Crossroads to have a meal on Sunday evening before driving back home. There is almost a cool diner vibe when you first walk in. We didnt have to wait long to be seated, party of 3. The decor was neat. The bathrooms were not great. There seemed to be a lot of hustle and bustle, like a brunch spot during peak hours but it wasnt *that* busy.Food: We specifically chose this spot due to their veggie options. Our table ordered the impossible burger, soyrizo quesadilla, and vegan tacos. Longer than expected wait for food. Everything was good, nothing was great. The flavor just wasnt there. The breakfast menu looks to have more potential so maybe Id give that a try in the future. The food here was fantastic. Generous portions and great flavor. The prices were fair and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. My only problems were with the service and the menu. We were in at a time that the restaurant was not busy and it took way too long for us to get served. Also, I’d like to see the dinner/lunch menu to be expanded. There aren’t too many options. With that being said, the breakfast menu is very extensive. Great experience overall. Definitely try a brownie!

The wait to eat wasn’t too bad but the wait for our food was long for some easily made sandwiches that weren’t even good. Bread was over toasted. My husband and I visited this place three years ago and everything was great. Today we didnt even eat here and went to another place because we waited for more than 30 minutes for a free table, being all the time in the waiting area at the entrance inside the restaurant. The girl who is supposed to seat the guests could not get through to my husband by phone and just simply crossed us off the list, although she could just shout out his name, we were sitting a meter away from her the whole time. When she finally did it, I no longer wanted to eat there with such an attitude towards the guests. Also in the waiting areas the air conditioning is very strong, which blows both from above and below. And this restaurant has one of the scariest restrooms I have ever seen (three years ago I didnt go there so I saw it for the first time today).

If you are new to Joshua Tree give the Crossroads Cafe a try. The food is delicious with generous portions.I recommend the chicken quesadilla or try one of their burgers. Their salads as a main dish, or as a side are excellent. The menu is somewhat limited but you’ll get a genuine taste of Joshua Tree cuisine. As a local this is a favorite meeting place to dine with friends. During the peak tourist season there can be a wait for a table. This is a good place to have breakfast before you visit the Park, or catch a meal after a long day. They have beers on tap and really great desserts. The brownies they have wrapped to go are a big hit with my friends. Crossroads Cafe is becoming an institution for visitors and the locals hangout here when it is not too crowded.

What a huge difference greeting someone with a smile when they walk into a business can make. When I walked into the cafe the clerk Panupong N just stared at me blankly. He didnt smile, no greeting, just an impatient, irritated, blank stare. I greeted him and sat myself. Immediately that negative energy was enough to put a damper on the dinning experience. He took my order and there was absolutely nothing polite, welcoming or pleasant about the service. The food was great but this guys attitude left a bad taste in my mouth and will be the reason I dont return. Its a shame. Ok look, their food was good and their service was friendly. But they have GOT to get a handle on dealing with disruptive customers. We were there for about an hour. When we arrived, there was a group of 4 guys seated across the dining room from us—they were blaring videos on their phone speaker. It was so loud, listening to the obnoxious, tinny sounds were like nails on a chalkboard and could be heard throughout the dining area. They eventually left, which we we’re grateful for. But then, a bit later, another party came in and did the same thing. This rude, inconsiderate behavior cannot be tolerated as it ruins the atmosphere for everyone else in the restaurant.Then, when our check arrived, the tip calculator on the ticket was wrong (higher than it should have been). Now, as a practice, we always tip a at least 20%, so it’s not that we don’t want to compensate the server well. We just don’t appreciate shady business practices like this. Gratuity percentages are customarily calculated on pre-tax totals, so that is what should be represented on the tab. In this case, the restaurant used the post-tax total to recommend the tip percentage.While some may opt to tip on the post-tax total, it is not how tips are customarily calculated, and that’s not how they are taxed by the IRS. In our case, had we merely followed the calculations on the ticket, we would have been duped into tipping another 10% on top of the 20% of our total. Shady af.This was not cool, and shows a lack of ethics that we won’t be supporting in the future.

The food was good but overpriced. Two tacos...$15. With no sides. Granted the tacos were pretty good, but I expected more volume for the price.My daughter ordered the Kiddy pancake with fresh fruit. To me, this implies like a side of fresh fruit. Instead, it was a Mickey Mouse shipped pancake with two small chunks of melon for eyes, a small chunk of orange for the nose (less than one slice), and one very thin slice of apple for the mouth.The waiter visited our table 3x: take our order, bring the food, bring the bill. I didnt see him other than that. I was waiting for him to come out so I could ask for more fruit for my daughter but didnt get the chance.Like I said, good food, so-so environment and service.

Its a perfectly benign dinner option. The food is decent enough, but not exactly anything special. I had a Reuben, it was fine. Others had burgers, they looked fine too, and so did the tacos. Its not a very extensive dinner menu, but I get the feeling that this place is more of a breakfast spot, and in that regard, I have no experience. Id be probably considered Crossroads for breakfast if I was nearby.

Alright… over 1000 positive reviews. How? Maybe the cook/chef was out sick when I went there, because my food was so cold, it was inedible. The bacon fat rendered at the bottom and it was just unappealing. I tried eating, so I wouldn’t kill my group’s vibe. There were flies inside the restaurant. Then… oh surprise! Food poisoning. Never again.

Staff are really welcoming and knowledgeable on the menu. Parking outside is first come first served, we didnt have any problem but imagine it can get quite busy sometimes of the day.Food was really really good, there are vegan/veggie options on the menu and all are generous portions and reasonable prices.

Best in J Tree. Fast, vegan, vegetarian & meaty. Jump on the bar for faster service (if youre flying solo and theres a spot). Great people watching.

First time here. Food is fantastic! Wait service is good. I would rate it higher if the temperature inside was regulated. Didnt much care for all the flies. But again the sandwiches we had were amazing.

I find it difficult to leave a 2 Star review for any place. I always try to look for the good. Heres the thing, the reason theyre even getting a 2 Star and not 1 is because its nice inside and the hostess was polite and seated me quickly. The bar back also was quick in getting me an iced tea... And then everything went off the rails.It wasnt busy at all. There might have been a dozen customers at most.Heres the laundry list of issues:- After 45 minutes, I still hadnt received my chicken Cesar Salad.- My server didnt even know he had taken my order.- I repeatedly tried to get a refill on my iced tea, but was completely ignored.- The staff were more interested in talking with and flirting with a few young women at the counter, rather than serving the customers that were waiting.- The Managers attitude and his statement matched his words of Dont worry about it!. As if it was my fault his staffs mistakes. Not a single apology for the royal screw-up.- Completely ignored once I was seated and given my iced tea.In wrap-up; This is a small restaurant, with limited seating, plenty of staff and a pleasant environment. However, if theyre too self-involved to serve the customers then why are they in business? When the servers dont even remember taking your order, then its time to do some serious retraining, or replacing staff.

Great place. Huevos rancheros was excellent. Super friendly staff who offered breakfast even though it was close to the cut off time.Would definitely eat here again just to try other menu items.Oh. And the grilled banana bread was great!

I love this little place and went out of my way to come here when I found myself in the area a year after I originally visited. The Hell Burger is great and punny and the best seitan I’ve ever had. I’m sure I’ll find myself again here soon!

The staff was always so stressed out that it’s just not fun to go to Crossroads. Gave it 6 chances. The food is mediocre at best which is fine for downtown Joshua Tree, Crossroads is open 7 days a week, breakfast lunch and dinner which is welcome for locals and tourists alike.

The food was good but the service was divine. I wish the chef could cook with more flavor. It was fresh and tasted good but something was missing. The double chocolate brownie was insanely good. I will be coming back for eggs Benedict.
