2023-10-29 20:09:10Wonderful curry restaurant! The portions are pretty big so you get quite a bit of food for the price. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Space is on the smaller side so it can get crowded quickly. They have 5 different spices you can use to add a kick to your curry. My personal favorite is the Orange Habanero Pepper. Will be coming back!

2023-10-02 03:49:18I think the curry is quite good here, though not the best Ive had. its complex and rich in flavor, but maybe a little sweet. however, I do appreciate every other element of dining here, such as the service, the presentation of the dish, and the fact that there are 5 different levels of spices you can add yourself on the table. pretty small restaurant so plan ahead.

2023-12-04 03:15:56Waited 20 min on Sunday at 6pm. I got the karaage chicken and vegetable curry which has bell pepper, kabocha, and eggplant. Curry is a little on the liquid side but still good. Yuzu lemonade is fantastic. Service is prompt. Would come again.

2023-09-30 06:08:49Their food is awesome! But the staff isn’t friendly at all. We felt really uncomfortable about the staff who’s working to clean the table and check out the payment. He came to our table to clear the table several times even though we still had a lot of food on the plates, which was really annoying. He indeed only thinks about the efficiency of customers. Also, the toilet isnt cleaned. Careful if youre fastidious.

2023-10-21 05:28:42My experience at Curry Hyuga was a delightful exploration of Japanese comfort food. To start, I ordered the corn potage soup, which arrived piping hot and oozing with a rich, creamy texture. The subtle sweetness of the corn was a perfect way to whet the appetite. For my main course, I dove into the tonkatsu curry, and it was a revelation. The crispy, golden-brown tonkatsu cutlet was expertly prepared and topped with a flavorful curry sauce that struck a delightful balance between savory and slightly sweet. The pairing of the tender pork with the curry sauce was a match made in heaven, and the portion size was generous, leaving me thoroughly satisfied.Curry Hyugas commitment to quality ingredients and authentic preparation was evident in every bite. The flavors were comforting and the execution was flawless. The meal was a harmonious blend of textures and tastes, and it left me with a warm and content feeling, perfect for a comforting dining experience. If youre a fan of Japanese cuisine, Curry Hyuga is a definite must-visit, especially if you have a penchant for delicious, homey dishes like tonkatsu curry.

2023-09-05 22:35:52Curry Hyuga had long been on my culinary radar, and today, I finally had the chance to experience it. The occasion arose as I needed to pick up my partner at SFO later, and given the mere 10-minute drive from the restaurant to the airport, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to satiate my appetite and make the most of my time, rather than aimlessly circling around the airport. Conveniently, there are numerous public parking lots scattered throughout the town. The restaurant opens its doors at 11:30 am, and I arrived promptly at 11:25 am, only to find a queue already forming outside, as depicted in the photo. The attentive server, Yuki promptly greeted each customer and kept my water glasses filled, setting a positive tone for the dining experience.Opting for their Signature Curry Rice Entree, which features their caramelized onion curry accompanied by shredded cabbage, creamy potato salad, and Fukujin pickles, I decided to elevate my meal by adding Chicken Cutlet Katsu Curry with Chicken Karaage as additional toppings. To my amazement, my order was delivered to my table in a mere 3 minutes, which left me thoroughly impressed. Curry Hyugas standout feature is their incredibly tender meat, perfectly complemented by their mouthwatering curry—a true masterpiece with Kanazawa-style sweetness and richness that sets it apart. To further customize your dish, they offer a selection of five different spices: Ichimi Togarashi, Jalapeno Pepper, Pequin Pepper, Wiri Wiri Pepper, and Orange Habanero. I had the pleasure of sampling all of them, and personally, I found the Wiri Wiri Pepper and Orange Habanero powder to be standout choices. Their spiciness elevated the curry to a whole new level, complemented by the unique fragrance of the peppers.

2023-08-29 01:06:18The chicken karaage curry is the best out of the 3 dishes we ordered. Lightly breaded tender chicken pieces that are full of flavor and juice, they paired really well with the sweet curry sauce. The katsu curry and Teishoku rice plate set are okay and the wiri wiri powder really brings the dishes up a notch! Dont bother with the corn soup, not worth the 5 bucks.

2023-09-01 23:02:04I like Japanese curry dishes so I was bound to visit this place. Not a big place, but we only had to wait like 5 minutes so not a big deal.I was going to order a katsu curry dish, but once I saw the omurice, I just had to order. Although not quite as good as the ones I had in Japan, it was still satisfying. Wifey had the chicken katsu and I took a few bites. I think I enjoyed it more than she did. I was quite surprised and impressed to see a bunch of chili pepper powders. I tried the orange habanero, but didn’t put a lot (yeah, I’m weak like that lol). The prices were reasonable and it satisfied my curry cravings. Yeah, I would come back!

2023-09-11 16:36:58This curry place worths the high reviews. It is hard to discern the extra-ordinariness of curry when you can buy those japanese curry blocks and cook them at home easily. The curry here is rich in flavors: sweet (I guess from onion), salty, umami, and even tangy (I guess from some fruit or vinegar). The pork katsu is also perfectly cooked. My friend likes karaage too. He said it is quite unique as well. The price is also reasonable compared to the quality of the food. The shop is quite small so please be ready to wait in line. It is not a crazy wait though. I would love to visit this place and try other dishes like Hayashi omurice as well.
