My recent favorite place when I crave for spicy food. I keep coming back with my family and friends, even on weekdays.My rank for three ways based on my preference from my favorite to least favorite: sesame - dry pot - soup.Sesame is sweet and the other two are savory. Dry pot come with complimentary celery, can be very savory at the bottom. But I still love it. Each of them are different. The service is pretty good too.I’m so addicted to it that I even comes here on weekdays. I live 20 miles away from this place. I dearly miss it once in a while.The environment of the restaurant is good around dinner time, very crowded. The music can be little bit too loud.

It is a great spot! Food is amazingly tasty, and the Ma La Tang soup is authentic & yum 😋This place is popular for Ma La Tang ( says in its name as well) but don’t miss out their dish choices, they don’t have a long menu, but everything on the menu are delicious!!!Price is also decent for the quality!

I absolutely love this place. It’s a gem in Fremont area. We tried their customized malatang - good broth and ingredients are really fresh; eggplant- flavorful; and pork chop- crispy, well-marinated, and tender. Another highlight is the customer service here, very hospitable waiters. I will come back for their Guobaorou :)

Best dry pot Ive had in the bay area so far. Perfectly spicy and flavorful. Loved the sweet and sour fried pork too. Presentation was excellent. Staff were super friendly. I’d drive to Newark again for this spot.

Best bone broth MaLaTang in town, flavor much better than Zhang Liang and YGF for my taste. Service is superb. Only hope they have more selection on their MaLaTang items, like the duck blood.

Very nice and hip interior design and decorations. The seatings look great although at the curved booths, our party of 4 found it uncomfortable to sit, being squeezed in and awkward feeling.The food selection is good although pricy. That being said, they have very creative presentations of dishes, using ceramic figures that blow steam. Great for IG pics.And the service for 90% of the staff is very attentive and kind. I only docked 1 star because one of the staff got my order wrong and indignantly insisted it wasnt.Overall a great place for friends and hanging out over good food.

Fancy presentation, dishes are tasty. However, dont try their MaLaTang bar. We ordered rice cake and was undercooked. (They were still dry and couldnt bite into it at all. ) Also, the taste was below average. Lastly, food here is priced higher than usual, partly because of the presentation? Overall, wont recommend this place.

Malaban is really authentic. Guobaotou needs long waiting, and it is customized to a more sweet taste, but it’s very crispy👍👍 Overall like this restaurant as it’s somewhat authentic to my hometown flavor.

Overall a great experience. What made this experience great were the decor and the service staff. Food tasted good, but could be had at home (relatively simply) for a much more affordable price.Decor was unique and very enjoyable. I loved looking around while I waited/ate.Service was great. Our server was a male with glasses - I noticed he was super attentive to us and all of the other tables, rarely (if ever) idling. Lots of small details were paid attention to while serving us as well which was the cherry on top.Would return.

Food is way too expensive for $15 per lb. I got malatang sesame with nearly 2 lbs. of food. Im a small girl and I wasnt full. Food was undercooked and their sauce was either too sour or too salty...

The Malatang and Malaban was so fresh and delicious, love all the items we picked. We arrived about 10 mins before close, two servers who greeted us were super friendly. They were patient, make us feel no pressure while dine-in. Highly recommended, and definitely will come back to try more items on their menu.

Trendy spot for malatang and dry pot along with other Sichuan dishes. Presentation is 100% and very photo worthy. Food is good but leans on the pricey side. I usually go on the weekends and have lucked out on missing the lunch rushes as each time Ive been there the tables fill up quickly.Order through their 39miles website for fee-free pick up service. Its just their phone number .com - super easy to use! If you dine in, each table has a personalized QR code that leads to this website. You order dishes directly through it and the wait staff will bring everything straight to you. Dine in malatang bar youll have to go up and service yourself and have it weighed and customized to your preference with the cashier. The bar is $14.95/lb and I find it hard to portion control myself each time! Ive tried their soup (malatang) and dry pot versions and theyre both good in flavor.Their squirrel fish (glanced fish in tomato sauce on their menu) is not the best Ive had in the bay (try Little Sichuan for this dish) as the sauce is heavy on the sour side rather than perfectly balanced. The boiled beef in pepper is delicious and I prefer it over than in their malatang or dry pot versions.Overall, solid restaurant and the only one with the malatang bar concept on this side of the Bay from what I know. Great concept, good food.

Long waiting time at 8 pm, the waiter told us 5 minutes but we waited half hour! The wait may be okay, but the food was just so-so and even bad. Malatang is okay, 锅包肉 is good, Malaban is bad...Whats worse, very expensive and they charged me two rices instead of one which we confirmed with them with the number of rices!Not recommended if you are here for tasty food.

To be honest, the food is not bad but its not great either. Just above average if you ask me. However, the prices are too high for what Im getting. Its probably cool to try it out if you havent been and check out their offerings. I know I wont be going back because I feel everything is overpriced. Now if the prices are more reasonable, its a different story.

They have awesome Cantonese songs we grew up listening to. Food is amazing. 😻😻To those people who dont understand how food in China works, this is a proper restaurant with all the proper dishes and an in house Malatang. Dont blame the restaurant when you dont know how to order regular dishes yourself. Thank you.PS: if you wanna know what to order check out the photos. This is a great restaurant even by China proper standard.Update: was gonna make it a regular spot until I went there this afternoon and the waiter said he was too busy to bother making my regular dish, which is simply replacing a couple ingredients in their Xiangguo with other common ingredients. Ill try not to com back again. Wouldnt wanna be a bother.

Non spicy beef noodles’s soup is the best I’ve tasted over all chinese restaurant s.I ordered by delivery and it took incredibly 3hrs to get me the noodles and fried chicken bones but it tastes a lot better than I expected!!!! Plus fried chuan with bbq sauce Feeling like back to high school.Awesome chef, cant help thinking about it, but could u pls upload ur menu here?

Ambiance is really nice! The food was very spicy and delicious. Presentation was unique and definitely worth a visit just for that. The MaLa was on point, and seems worth the price, unlike the bar (which I avoided based on other reviews)

Not fresh. Not taste good. The sauce is definitely not Malaban — as I’ve tried all different kinds of authentic Malaban 抚顺，丹东，沈阳，etc. The duck products we ordered was sooooo dry and hard to chew. Three people, three bowl of Malatang, one plate of duck products, $80. Yep. My friend also said she got diarrhea after.

Tasty but not worth the price and the waiting time. Malatang is nearly $13 per pound. Waiting time is terrible. A party of 2 arrived at 6pm Sunday night. Had to wait for about one and a half hour to get seated.

This is my favorite restaurant in the Bay Area. It is so good. It is the best Malatang Ive had in the U.S. and you can choose from a lot of fresh and delicious ingredients. This place is a special treat!

Super yummy place for malatang and mala xiang guo. I am okay at handling spice but the 10 spicy was still okay for me. The mala xiang guo is super flavorful and comes out really quickly after youve chosen what you want to go in it. Would definitely recommend!!This is a restaurant called Maratang Maraxiangguo!! Its not as spicy as I thought, so even if its 10 degrees, itll be delicious~
