Been trying to find a decent fried chicken place, other than the popular packed ones. And I decided to follow up on this location from from a coworker recommended. So bad stuff out the way, this is eat anywhere but here location, no restroom, one or 2 small benches right outside in a shared parking lot. Ok now on to food, yeah, crunchy, ✔️,tasty ✔️, other options other than who chickens like tenders and chick burger ✔️. Ill recommend get the bone in one because the flavor comes alive more for some reason. Please not, this seems to be Hawaiian inspired, so theres a sweetness with some of the food that seems like teriyaki on the sides. Getting back to the chicken, yes, its tasty and satisfying, a great hole in the wall to go place

Been coming here for a several years now. Service is always great with a smile, friendliness and promptness! Promptness! The CPC chicken is great! Theyre spicy. Poke is good too! For some reason this time the kalbi ribs were extremely tough and chewy. Yeah, a little disappointed.

No matter how long/ tough my day is, I drive 40 minutes out of my way to get some comfort food from this amazing spot and everything is better again. The service is amazing and you are guaranteed to meet some great people waiting in line or waiting for your food that is always made fresh and with Island love. Can not recommend this place more, just don’t blow it up after you discover this amazing place.

The fried chicken is delicious! Nice and crunchy and juicy. The Mac salad was okay, not really seasoned in my opinion, & I’m not a fan of potatoes in it. My husband on the other hand liked it. I would skip the regular spam musubi too (nothing special, it’s just basic.) Customer service was nice, food order came out pretty quick. No public restrooms. I would definitely come back for the Korean fried chicken really any of the CPC’s though. (Highly recommend,) I’m from San Diego so I would hit this spot up whenever I come to Huntington Beach.

The chicken here is to DIE. FOR.I’ve had my share of Korean-style fried chicken, but Da Hawaiian fried chicken is equally as good to me because of the taste and texture.I also like the coleslaw here… it tastes similarly to the cabbage salad at Korean fried chicken places, but this one tastes more refreshing.Can’t wait to come back and cater this place for an event :’-)Also I appreciated the friendliness of the person working the register that day.

Good spot for Hawaiian eats. The fried chicken is the draw here and it’s good. Prices are reasonable. It’s next to the Target and doesn’t face the street so it can be a little hard to find.This place is strictly a take out shop. However, there are a couple of tables outside where you can eat.

Great value! Food portions are LARGE. When they say plate lunch, they mean it. Two large scoops of rice, a scoop of mac salad, and your meat. The chili pepper chicken (CPC) is great fried chicken, super crisp with a sweetness in the sauce. Much like Bonchon Chicken (the Korean chain).

As other reviewers have mentioned prior...the CPC DOES NOT disappoint!!! The spicy flavor is just as good as the cpc flavor. The potato Mac salad is good. Ive attached just the beginning and after of when I started to eat. Kind of curious of the other items on the menu. Will definitely come back after I recover from my food coma.

Since Kings Hawaiian no longer has lau lau on their menu (as of June 2021) and Shakas in Monterey Park is gone (my closest place for kalua pig) and my vacation to Kauai has been in COVID hold, I had to find a new local place for that Hawaiian fix. Looking at everyone elses reviews and pictures convinced me this was the place to go. Got the DHK plate and CPC Chicken plate with spicy garlic (was originally going to get just the garlic sauce, but a couple of reviews convinced me that spicy was the way to go).The lau lau (they had 2 ready when I got there) did not disappoint. It was decent size and meaty and moist, not soupy. My husband got the butterfish in the half l left him 😩 which he said was good. The kalua had that nice smokey taste that I love. It wasnt fatty or greasy either. It hit that crave. Kalua was on a bed of cabbage not mixed in to water down that smokey flavor.The CPC was deep fried crunchy goodness with a garlicky, spicy sweet sauce that kicks you after. Even with the sauce coating the chicken the crunch was still there. The loud crunch was the first thing I observed with the chicken and that was from my husband taking that first bite. The chicken thigh was not a small piece either so eating one of the two chicken was satisfying.The mac salad was different from others that Ive had with a nice eggy flavor that I did not expect. I can see why others would get two scoops instead of rice, but that spicy garlic sauce on the rice was so good too.If I get to make that trek back, I want to try the loco moco and bacon fried rice.

The spicy garlic fried chicken is crack! Love the fried chicken here. By favorite one of my favorite Hawaiian food joints.The place is small so there is not a lot of seating and parking is ok. It is in the plaza next to Target so you can park over there and walk over. Also try there chocolate chip cookies. They are soft and delicious.

I drove all the way up here for the bacon fried rice! Someone had brought it to a work lunch and it was delicious. When I got there, they had a menu posted on the counter(see photo) but the menu was also posted on the wall and it was much more extensive than the counter menu. I asked the girl at the counter and she said they only serve whats on the new menu and that they stopped serving the rest about 2 weeks ago. I had looked at the menu online before going there and it was still showing the full menu.The new menu is only mostly just chicken. I had planned on getting the kalbi ribs or kalua pork as Im not a huge chicken lover. Thankfully, the bacon fried rice was still on the menu! Got a large order to go and that was it. It did not disappoint! I will probably go back again but its a long way to drive just for a side of rice! If Im in the area, Ill definitely go in and get the rice!

Okay first time here hands down you gotta get their lau lau and their cdc chicken it’s the freaking best the chicken is so crunchy I mean very very very crunchy and it was so good home made potato macaroni salad and their coleslaw was great too the boyfriend ordered the poke salad we went here because he misses being back home and he said that this is the most closest Hawaiian food you’ll get. So if your in the area drop by the girls at this spot their really attentive and their service is spot on great. Welcoming. Thanks guys will def come back when the boyfriend craves it again

They are know for many food choices. One of my favorites are the chilli peppa chicken with spicy garlic and the corned beef hash loco moco. They also serve a piece of poke after your meal. Love coming here.

Whats better than delicious, Hawaiian style fried chicken? Delicious, Hawaiian style fried chicken that is served with a smile! My group of friends and I came into the restaurant 15 minutes before they were set to close (sorry about that btw) and you know, thats typically when you get turned away or less than friendly service but instead, the worker at the cashier was extremely courteous, helpful, and accommodating. This was our first time there so her customer service was great appreciated and noted. I will definitely come back down the line for both the chicken and the service!The chicken was definitely 5 stars but the poke I had was on the saltier side so that was 4 stars.

We love it here!! The CPC Chicken is sooo crunchy and moist and the potato mac salad is delicious! The Guava lemonade was alright, but I think the mango lemonade is better. I do wish they gave sauces though for dipping/pouring (maybe you can just ask them for it?) Its also a small place and they only have 2 outdoor tables, so be prepared to either eat in your car or take it home👍🏼

Love DHK. I generally order ahead of time and pick it up for home. Great chicken and plate lunches.I haven’t had anything that I haven’t really liked.Big portions and lots of flavor. The chicken has a super crunchy exterior and juicy tender interior. Can’t go wrong with the CPC.

TLDR - Solid friend chicken, crunchy and moist. Little on expensive side. One 3 piece CPC plate can feed 2, order extra rice.I ordered the 3 pc CPC (chili pepper chicken) plate for $13.25 flavored spicy garlic.We got three huge thigh pieces with rice and Mac salad. Rice was fluffy and delicious. Mac was a different style, tasted more like potato salad which I didnt like too much.The chicken was the star and was delicious, crunchy skin, moist inside. The spicy garlic was on the sweeter side and decent amount of spice. Overall, solid chicken.

This place is the best. Everyone that is local seems to know and LOVE Da Hawaiian Kitchen. Its just so good and I really want you to try it.My favorite is the 3 pc Spicy Garlic CPC lunch plate. Its just so beyond good. The chicken, the rice, and the potato mac always hit home for me. My Fiancé usually gets just the chicken but because she orders a side of cucumber kimchi. I dont think there is any way to go wrong.

Teo tables outside on the sidewalk next to the parking spaces. When are back up, the exhaust smell is all up on your food. Very very small place, a not a good place to dine in, someone told us about the fried chicken here is the best (from a different state) so we decided to try it out, and just as I thought it was pupu chicken. I was disappointed because the chicken was dried meaning overcooked, and we ordered 2 three-piece chicken meals with a drink that came out to over $50. If thr fried chicken is your signature plate, at least keep it consistent and make it good. Great people, location needs some work, not Inviting at all. Hope they make some improvements. Mahalos.

It was good but pricey.recently went there got a take out oder asked, for the recommended plates. The graclis spicy chicken was great,in the way that i took the frist bite, it captivated me .the combo plate held just your everyday Chinese food teryaki chiken and the beef cut were ok nothing too great but all for the price of 30bucks i thinks not.

The best restaurants are the ones that the locals highly recommend. This was one of them!Since it was our first time ( sadly also our last day) we decided to try the Mix plate and a couple other entrees. The Staff was incredibly attentive, went above and beyond to make sure our food was perfect.The second we took a bite, it was all over. Definitely try the Mahi here, it’s amazing. The Loco Moco is also delicious. The dining room is small but the wait will be worth it. 10/10 would recommend.

I have eaton there before and I don’t know if it was sold but the food is by all means not the same. Maybe the chicken but the rice is just not the same, tastes like long grain not washed and the macaroni salad is by no means like Hawaiian Mac salad just tastes like regular macaroni salad. Place does not have indoor seating as far as I can tell from recent visit. There was just a couple picnic benches for outside seating. Tried the CPC plate. The chicken itself is quite bland to my tasting. I will give other items I try next time Im nearby.

Everything is so good here, they have a dish called chilli peper chicken, it is the best fried chicken i ever had, so tasty and so crunchy, the mac potato salad and the poke, you have to try everything absolutely the best Hawaiian food in Huntington Beach, no one has Hawaiian food like this, not even close you have to try this place, can eat outside or in your car, believe me just eat it there and youll Probably go back for seconds. This place is one of my favorites! I dont understand how the chicken is SO crispy and flavorful. Im drooling just at the thought of it. Even after a couple hours, the chicken was still crispy! I love getting the meal with 3 pieces of CPC chicken with spicy garlic sauce.The macaroni salad is more like a macaroni/potato salad mixture which I know some people dont like that, but I think its bomb.I want to try other things here soon! They have outdoor seating available, but the take out works just fine. I ate it at the beach for da ~hawaiian~ vibes. Will definitely be back soon!

Update: Theyve gotten rid of most of their menu. They now only have the chili peppa chicken and one item on a daily rotating specials list. A lot of the family atmosphere has also been removed. There is no seating available, so dont plan on eating there. I definitely wont be back.------- Previous review -------The Bruddah Aaron Loco Moco is an interesting and delicious showcase of Hawaiian comfort food. Corned beef hash and fried rice topped with two eggs and smothered in brown gravy. Theyve got a lot more delicious choices that Im sure to return to try out.

The poke reminds me of the Foodland poke back home in Hawaii. I love their garlic chicken... the skin is so crispy and the chicken is well seasoned. They serve up a good portion and the atmosphere is reminiscent of back home. Its a bit pricey, but its really good.

These hole-in-the-wall restaurants almost always serve the best food. I used to live 5 minutes down the street from this place, however have moved to South OC. That being said, I always make an effort to stop by here if I am in the area. Their chili peppa chicken and mac salad is to die for. The staff are always very pleasant too.

Born and raised from Waipahu, HI..currently living in LA…wanted to take my girl and son to eat some Hawaiian food and they never have Lau lau, smoke meat, Lomi salmon, nor poke. Best hawaiian food in OC. Best poke hands down, reminds me of the kind you can get at Foodland. CPC fried chicken is my absolute best thing on the menu, whether a plate or sandwich. Have not been disappointed once with any of their food. Spam musubi and a hawaiian guava drink are a weekly occurrence.

So they are famous for there peppa chicken. AGREED! Love it, I could eat it everyday and Ive come pretty close to it. Something about how they fry it and the skin comes out like crackling. They offer it in 3 flavors, garlic, original and spicy, Ive had all of them and they are all awesome. The spicy has the slow build, you will not notice it in the beginning but you will feel the heat at the end of the meal.Tiny place, like 3 tables inside.It takes about 10-15 minutes to fry, call ahead to save some wait time. Oh yeah, its a basic Hawaiian place, I just havent had time to try the other food.

Small little quaint place. There was nowhere for us to sit, so we brought our food to our car. We loved the food. Prices were closer to $$ than one $, but we were still satisfied after eating our meals. Restroom was nice and clean and the area was nice.

I always come here for my haircuts. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and very good at what they do. Ive never had a bad haircut here out of the approximately 15 times Ive been here. Theyve been with me through thick and thin(hair) and my changing tastes over the years.

Good Hawaiian food that reminds me of Hawaii. Had their kalua pig, lau lau, and CPC (Chili Peppa Chicken) with spicy garlic sauce. Kalua pig was moist and had that nice smoky flavor and the lau lau was delicious. The CPC was really crunchy with an awesome sweet spicy garlic sauce on it. The food was served with Aloha spirit.

I first tried the chili peppa chicken (CPC) at a work potluck and instantly was blown away. I have since been to their location a few times (its a 30 minute drive) and am never disappointed by the food.Our regular go to is the CPC and kalbi, have yet to try their kalua or laulau but I am sure its awesome.I would say the only con is if you are dining in, they have extremely limited seating. I think there is 3 tables inside and 2 picnic type tables outside. However its HB so eating at the beach or at a park is a great option.

Came here for lunch on a hot sunday. Group got the Fried chicken, Loco Moco, and Short Ribs. All were delicious but the Fried Chicken really stood out. Sweet and salty sauce with a perfect crunch on that skin. Located near the Target shipping and receiving side. Great lunch spot if you are doing a bike ride from Le Bard Park to Huntington Beach. Only 3 tables inside so not great for large groups.

Kinda mixed. My first experience eating here, and the laulau was delicious and moist. The second time, just a day ago since this review, the meat in both laulaus seemed a bit dry and old, as if it were sitting or had been frozen. I was a bit disappointed, but then again the laulaus had lots of luau leaves, which is really the best part of the laulau, and that saved it for me. Docked one star for the dry meat.

I am sorry but I cannot understand what people rave about here. My GF and I each ordered the Teriyaki Chicken and Beef combo plate and a side of spam masubi.The plates came and the chicken and beef were not freshly made at all. You can tell chicken thats been sitting for a while and reheated. Both items had lots of fat and were not hot. The rice was hard in places and then theres the masubi. Its wrapped in seran wrap and heated in a microwave which makes the seaweed dry and stiff for those that know seaweed. Had to ask for teriyaki sauce which is super runny and had no thickness to it as if I asked for teriyaki water. Sorry but this is not Hawaiian. We litterally picked at it all and tossed it in the trash.My 2 cents on top of the $32 we spent
