This is a big Daiso store. The format is larger than what I typically see. Theres the usual Japanese housewares items, stationary, cookware, fishes, etc. What was unusual was the metal cups and metal plates. It took me a while to understand that they were probably for use while out camping. They also have small cast iron pans, probably for camping?...or maybe good if you are cooking for one and want to put a good sear on a small steak. 🧑‍🍳🔥🥩😋Up front theres a huge assortment of hug pillows.....they look like stuffed toy animals to me. Could probably double as graduation gifts.Of course, theres also Hello Kitty items there too. 😆

Fun stores, some useful items like clear storage boxes. Stationary, stickers, kitchen and other useful goodiesSnackers secret. Pepsi bottles $1.75 m lower than most stores although not refrigerated. Good selection of chips in exotic flavors, Cup of noodles, old school, with the dried shrimp and chicken.

Such a quaint store with tons of knick knacks that are priced very reasonably. You can find most anything in any category. This place is basically a Japanese dollar store but with a modern flair. Inside the store is very bright and airy with minimal decoration, but the styling and look is modern with a sense of not being cheap. I found tons of stuff I like and the kids loved exploring the aisles and looking for little fun treasures. I would definitely come back here.

Used to not have issues going here, but I guess if you take too long looking at stuff or look a certain way they will stalk and follow you around the store. I got so uncomfortable I left my cart with stuff in it in the middle of the store and just left. Honestly really sad. Shame on the lady that followed me and shame on the lady at the register that looked at me knowing damn well she was in the WRONG. I am not a thief! Some people are just indecisive smfh.

Great location, short walk from the El Cerrito Plaza Bart Station, beside the 72, 72M, 72R Bus stops, with ample parking, in the Plaza with Barnes & Noble, Luckys, CVS, Panda Express, etc. Wonderful staff, with a variety of nick nacks, Japanese and other East Asian snacks, drinks, kitchen wares.

Not as big as some other daisos ve been to in other countries, but pretty good big for the ones here in US. I love going there for storage, kitchen and gardening stuff esp pots! They have great snacks too and its fun trying out the different flavors. Havent tried one that was bad yet. They also have a good selection of kitchen and cleaning stuff. Good toys too. Bought my toddler son a little toy bus and that thing zooms so fast when pushed and he loves it!

This is one of the better Daiso stores in the Bay. Their prices have increased but where havent they? I love the compressed towels for makeup removal and traveling. They are disposable and absorb very well. I get them in medium for face and the large size for body washing. The small is good for babies.

My family and i enjoy browsing. This store has a little bit of everything for anyone. My son likes the candy and toys. My mom likes the gardening and organizing sections and i love the car accessories/tech area. I have the cat headrest on every seat in my car. So comfortable

Its was my first visit to this store in el Cerrito. Its very clean and organized.Looks like, I was there during restocking process, since there were multiple cases of merchandise on the sales floor. Its very inexpensive for any comparison. Its like a better and more organized $ store.They do have a no return and a no exchange policy. Which is common with the any stores with such deals.

Awesome Japanese store with cool items for people living in smaller places, to get carry alot of the main staples that most people use and need, but instead of regular sized, they have shrunken most the items to save space for example, people living in smaller places. they dont just have mini items they also have some pretty useful things Ive never even seen or heard of before. Daiso is a place definitely worth checking out.

You have to be careful shopping here, because not all the items are $1.50. but the ones that are $1.50 are usually a very good deal indeed ;).Update. $1.50 has become $1.75. still some bargains here :)I was pleasantly surprised. They had a special area of $1.00 items today!!!!!

Cant not go in and spend only a few bucks. Example: If I were on a trip and needed slippers, they have that and a few other things to make a trip more pleasant cheaper than other spots. Usually I like to go there for knick knacks to help with this & that which wont cost and arm and a leg! Feel like your shopping in Japan prices are listed in yen ( dont worry theres conversation tables everywhere). My daughter likes to go in and shop for arts and crafts stuff, good cleaning supply section.

This a more or less a dollar store that offers inexpensive goods from Japan. The pricing here is mostly $1.50 unless otherwise noted but Ive never seen anything over $8 there. I mostly come here for paint markers but they offer everything from snacks to cleaning supplies to home storage solutions and more. The service here is very prompt but one weird detail is they are very emphatic about their no refund policy. Its no big deal because I buy stuff for keeps but thats just a strange tact but anyways, 5 stars!

Located in El Cerrito Plaza I love checking out Daiso, the Japanese $1.50 store. They always have something I can use from tableware, storage, some hardware, stationary and quick foods and drinks.I really like their garden section. I picked up a wooden handled cutter for cleaning up around plants, works great! They have hardware, phone needs, many shopping bags and extensive areas for foot and body care. Some clothing and infant section, toys and my favorite gadgets for cooking and camping. A little of everything for you and the house and new things stocked all the time. Efficient and attentive staff.

Randomish collection, fun to make a quick stop in if you mostly want to look around and have a little extra money to get something fun. Staff are helpful and quiet, dont go out of their way to bother you, which I personally prefer. Id say dont get something practical that youre going to use often, because it likely wont last.

I love this store. It has many small, useful items that I use.Today, I was in the store when My pendant dropper from from my neck and I was unable to see where it landed. I asked for help from one of the assistants and within minutes four or five assistants came to my aid. They were so happy to help in the search and stayed with it until the pendant was recovered. I appreciated the help and attitude.

No matter how many times I visit... it is not just a store... it is an experience. It is akin to a dollar store, but things are slightly more expensive, a lot cooler, but still super affordable. I love shopping the crafts and papers sections as well as the home wares. There is a lot to see and it is a lot of fun to see new products every time you visit.

I have a painful love for Daiso. Wanna have some fun shopping but dont want to break the bank? Daiso. Need some cute stuffed animals for whatever? Daiso. Kitchen supplies? Daiso. Ramune soda? Daiso. That aside, the store is in a good location with its own dedicated parking lot. The store is well lit and spacious so it doesnt feel cramped. Its large and has a good selection as well! All of the staff are very kind and mindful of customers. Definitely my favorite Daiso location.

This store has vastly improved since opening and the shopping experience is so much better. But, compared to the stores on the other side of the bay, the variety is limited and the food section is almost nonexistent. Prices are low and staff are nice and helpful. Private parking lot. Easy in and out.

Also staff is very helpful. cant find that battery operated mixer whisk anymore! edit - just found it. parking is plentiful and free in the lot. enter to el cerrito plaza shopping center then turn left. their pricing is generally 1.50$ each item with others marked higher. dont think theyve inflated prices.

A great alternative to dollar stores! Most items are priced at $1.50. The stationary/art/office are very good quality and very well priced. There are a lot of cute things like fun shaped erasers and high quality origami paper. The kitchen stuff is also a must shop for okay to very good quality kitchen supplies. The selection of items is very wide and interesting, there are some cool items not usually carried at the basic dollar stores like fun cookie cutters, Bento boxes, beauty supplies including makeup brushes, slippers and gardening supplies. If youve never been it is a fun place to browse and find something unique. No refunds or exchanges though and items are not always great quality and sometimes break pretty easily.

Make sure you listen for the ladies to angrily scream...Next Line because if you dont hear them or see where the yell is coming from, they will yell louder as the people in front of me learned today. Everything is super cute and affordable. Its a popular Japanese chain store with most items staying at $1.50 upwards to $3.00 and sometimes $6.00 for a few select items. Carries everything from home goods, snacks, kitchen and bath stuff, yarn and craft supplies to makeup and beauty projects and plenty of organization solutions for small items.

Shopping at Daiso Japan is an experience. Hundreds of small items are packed into this store with prices that makes you wonder how they can have it so low priced. Many items are much higher priced elsewhere. I like going there to wander amidst the aisles to see what I could use as it saves me money. The downside is there is a no return policy so shop wisely.

This place is like a dollar store, only with Japanese products. Most of their stuff is $1.50-2.00 which is relevantly cheaper than going to CVS and getting something from there. Their store is clean and organized which is helpful for finding things quickly. :)

Daiso is a fascinating place to browse. I go in for practical things like tape and ziplocks, and end up with other things I didnt know I needed. The difference between daiso and american 99 cent stores is that the quality of the daiso stuff is much higher and the selection is incredibly diverse. The only down sides are that they can be out of stock on various items for a long time because it all depends on big shipments from Japan. Also, the muzak they play can be really annoying.. so I always wear ear plugs (which I bought right there!) Thats the only reason Im giving 4 stars instead of 5. I prefer silence for shopping.

Having a degree in A.C. and humanities i found Daiso Store culturally interesting and how they resolve the usage of human neccessities that were resolved/derived, as well as, other cultural contributions.I always come out with something for my emergency bag or new quick eat snacks.At this time for the 3 holiday seasons for those who celebrate them the aisles are full of boxs and the shelves are stacked.Emeryville is not going to jump the gun and the shelves or regular Daiso style.What happen to berkeley store in the mist of telegraph/universites remoldeling i couldnt find it (all that brown camoflauge).

I love Daiso. I am so glad that they opened one at El Cerrito. They also have one at Berkeley however that place is extremely small that you dont get the best out of it. I also go to the one in Japantown in San Francisco or the one in Union City which both are very big places with more selection. Its like a dollar fifty store for Japanese things. It is a must place to go when you want to or or need stuff for home, office, school and arts and crafts and even snacks.

This is a nice Daiso store but not as big as the one in Japantown, San Francisco.The store on Market Street in SF is convenient but you have to navigate around the homeless to get into the main door. The selection is also limited.The Daiso in El Cerrito is in a good location near the BART station.Periodically I will go in there to see if they have any new knick-knacks for the home.I was in need of a strainer and I found a sizeable one for $1.50. It is stainless steel and just the right size to fit in a kitchen drawer.The real reason I go to Daiso is to pick up the plastic DVD holders. I have many discs that Ive lost sleeves for and these holders fill the void.Not many stores carry the holders anymore but theyre still in demand for DVD collectors like me.Im from the old school, so I know a bargain or two when I see one.
