Nice to have sushi available here. Typical over the top, made for American taste rolls with toppings and dripping in sauces. Certainly not an authentic Japanese sushi experience here but it gets the job done when you want something other than burgers, chicken sandwiches or pizza.

This food is terrible. I ordered a simple California roll and I don’t know what that was, but compared to more superior sushi restaurants in town it was trash. There was more rice than anything else in the roll and the taste was off. At first, I thought it was just me, but the person I was with hated it too and they had something completely different. I just ended up throwing it away. I couldn’t push through and eat it anymore. What a waste of money. I knew I should have just purchased a burger from next door. Never again!

Our sushi was great. They could really benefit from hiring a native speaker to proofread their menu, though. An unclear menu plus owners who dont speak native english is the perfect recipe for confusion when you are ordering a meal.One of their sushi menu items is called Real Crab. Is it a roll? A salad? A bowl? Perhaps no one will ever know.I cant dock a star though, because the sushi tasted great and the owner was friendly despite the language barrier.

The spicy miso ramen was the worst ramen Ive ever had. Very bland, not spicy, super disappointing broth may as well have been water. Instant ramen is five stars by comparison. Poke bowl was alright, opt for the sushi over soups.

Got a nice Tempura roll and 2 orders of Gyoza. No alcohol here, but pop over to the bar next door and grab a drink. Decent patio seating for all patrons of Abbotts square.

The food took a long time to come out. The edamame for some reason was seasoned with salt AND sugar. My fingers were sticky after eating it. The miso soup was bland and had only 1 piece of tofu in it. We ordered the Ocean Special and the Rainbow Roll. We could have gone to the local grocery store and similar quality sushi. It was edible but nothing special.

The sushi is always fresh here and it tastes great, staff is friendly, the place clean and the always consistently deliver good choices from the menu, I consider it one of the best in Santa Cruz

Great experience. Warm friendly greeting and help in selecting from their menu. By far the best sushi around (quality of ingredients and presentation were too notch along with the fact they did not skimp on their rolls like other places in town). They staff went above and beyond due to the fact there was a power outage and still made a great meal essebtially in the dark! We will be making this our go to spot for sushi

Had a bento box for lunch - one of worst teriyaki chicken I had! Chicken was dry and chewy, sauce just sweet and flavorless - I recommend Panda Express instead of this place. Oh and if you check for prices on the outside menu, you’ll be surprised that they are higher inside.

I ordered a veg combo sushi roll. Sushi roll was amazing, it also came with Miso soup. It was worth the money. Person on the counter was very helpful, he customized the sushi with fried onion topping and helped us through our order.

Please ensure yourself you do not order Ramen. Unfortunately, the pork was extremely dry, the broth is a powder base, and the noodles are overcooked or from a can. My partys food was also highly unsatisfactory. I do not wish to be disrespectful only honest. If you are borderline on deciding what to eat save your hard earned money for a business that is considerate of the quality of the food they make. Because if you are looking for quality food here the only thing you will find is dissapointment.

Made well, but I asked for cream cheese and Taryaki sauce and they said it would come with it, but it did not. Also ordered fried shrimp, serving size of 3 shrimp seemed small to me, with so much other stuff added.

What a lovely place to grab Japanese food . Simple clean authentic Japanese food for your appetite. My family enjoy dine in at this Japanese restaurant . We always dine in here at the lovely location of Santa Cruz . I recommend this place 5 stars .

It was bad sushi. It was not fresh, I had two hairs in my roll. They forgot to make my friends roll and they did not know much English, so it was hard to communicate. We will not go back there.

Mostly rice, grocery store kind of rolls. They served mine with a dirty napkin. You can only sit outside, it took 35 minutes to get a roll.

The quality is about the same as a conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Japan. so so.The store clerk is friendly and nice.
