First of all, they dont pay attention to customers. And, quality of food is way lower than any sushi restaurant I used in Walnut creek and Concord area. Ordered hot tea but never served. Asked again but brought cold water. Quite impressive.

Weve ordered sushi to-go from Damo Sushi twice. The first time I said outloud, I think this is the BEST sushi I have ever had! ... and I never say that. The second time was just as amazing and I said, This IS the BEST sushi, hands-down ... and Ive had sushi all over the Bay Area and beyond. Try it. Youll like it!

We go here all the time. The staff is really attentive and nice. Ive never had to wait for a table. sushi is always yummy and fresh. Ramen is amazing. Love that they have the projector onto the wall so everyone can watch whatever big game is on. Will come again and again.

Pretty good sushi place. My friends who are much more experienced with sushi arent awed by the place. Good amount of food. Some interesting options. Always tastes fresh, and the salad dressing that comes with the little iceberg salad in the bento box is delicious! Not sure if its a house dressing or purchased elsewhere. Good place for sushi. Very polite staff. The restaurant itself is a bit dark, but not uncomfortably so.

Try not to go there on a hot day. The high vaulted ceilings make for a very hot dining experience. The air conditioning was either off or over whelmed by the amount of heat gain on a 90 degree day.Otherwise a good meal.

Our server Katie who said she was also the manager gave us the worst service I have ever experienced. Always check your receipts to make sure that they dont charge you for their mistakes. Instead of owning up to her mistakes and apologizing, she had the nerve to get mad and blame me. Honey, that was yours to own up to. People like you should not be out their serving people, not unless you have a major attitude overhaul. Start some management classes.. it would help. For as long as you work there, we will never go back. Take your money to other Japanese restaurants worth of your time.

Always fresh and high quality. A great variation in choices besides the usual rolls. Friendly service is a bonus. Were really picky about sushi and this is one of our favorites. My old favorite place declined (soggy rice, not so fresh, and pieces way too big) but havent had that problem here in the last 6 years weve been going. Favorites to order are the Rainbow Crunch roll (without the spicy mayo), the 49er roll, the Ace roll, and the Tokyo Tower. Pot stickers are yummy, not doughy. Blue fin tuna there is like butter.

I went there on my lunch which i only have 30 mins for and the guy server with glasses walked by me 10 times while I sat there for 10 mins and didnt even ask if I need water or even take my order now I can understand if you are swamped but there were 2 families already eating and 2 other people who looked like they were waiting for food to make it worse a family came in after me and sat down and he went to help them immediately. Not the best server

Ive been to this place once and it was really good customer service, our waiter was very attentive and friendly and the food was good.The second time I went was the last time. The place was not busy at all, but for some reason our waiter was very inattentive. We got sat down quickly but it took a while to get our order in, then we got our food and the waiter didnt check on us at all after that. I finished my food within 20 mins or so after getting it and wanted to order ice cream but she didnt come and check on us at all. And when she finally came, she came with the check, and I told her that I actually wanted to order dessert, and she looks at me with this surprised look and says oh, and I tell her what I want to order and she brings it back pretty quick but then after Im done, she again take forever to give the check and when she gives us the check, she doesnt even say anything, she just leaves it on the table. This was the worst customer service.

Honestly I came here again hoping it would be better than last time but I was extremely disappointed and it was worse than the last time I was here. The sushi was overwhelmed unagi sauce that I couldnt even taste the sushi, the ramen noodles were chewy, flavorless and felt like I was chewing rubber. The broth for the ramen was flavorless. The tempura was 50/50 pretty okay. The sad part to me is where the side dishes (miso soup & house salad) are the best things that are consistently the most flavorful and joyful things to eat. The side dishes should build you up for the actual meal, not be the best highlight of the entire thing.

Nothing specialWe got ramen and spider roll and tempura. Ramen wasnt that great. Spider roll just had a crab egg taste, not the best and batter on it was really over flaky like over cooked or oil old. The tempura was only panko on shrimp but others were kind of too thick. The kids liked the California roll but Id guess they would like it anywhere. When I saw the rolls it seemed the rice was not pressed very well, like too rough in texture. Food was ok but I think wed look for a different place for next time.

Good service but this place is dirty. They deep fried a bug that attached to tofu, claiming it was soft shell shrimp but I never seen a wing designed for flight also be resilient enough for aquatic propulsion.Go elsewhere.

This sushi place is open very convenient hours, the service is good, and the food is consistent. There have been some times with new servers (since it is in a college area) that there is more training needed, some slow service but I have never had any real problems here.The menu is standard foods for the genre, sushi rolls, chirashi, bento dinners and lunch, sake and other alcoholic beverages.

This is the 3rd time we have had bad service. Why I kept giving them another chance I dont even know. They forgot the nigiri order, didnt refill water or tea. Service was slow. The miso wasnt even hot. Last time wont be back. Sayonara

Ive been going to Damo for about five years now,never once have I been disappointed, I highly recommend the Pleasant Hill Roll,I dont want to call myself a sushi snob but I eat sushi very frequently all over the country and this place is one of my favorites
