New name at the location is danbi. Some of the food was fine, but the beef soft tofu soup was indescribably tasteless. Like hot water with a hint of spiciness. Sad effort at that price.
First time visiting, didn’t know Korean restaurant existed on snell. Fast food, delicious and very friendly.
Went there for a late lunch. It’s a family run store and they are very welcoming. Love the Tofu soup and the bulgogi there. Been there a couple of times.The food is served within 20 minutes. If you want the side dishes, you need to ask. There’s barley tea on the side if you wanna have as well.The food is very homely and delicious. Love the soups. Nothing I tried was below a certain level. Great place.

Cute little korean restaurant. Staff is very nice and they get orders out quickly. Theyre menu isnt very big but they have all the essentials and a few extra dishes as well. Vegetarian and vegan options available upon request (bimbimbap, soon tofu, etc. Kimchi is NOT vegan or vegetarian friendly).
Omg!! So authentic! So delicious! I can’t wait to stop by again from Watsonville, Ca! Their Kimchi soup is unforgettable! My daughter loved the ramen. My friend loved the fried rice. I am now obsessed with the seafood pancake! Try them all!
You can tell the owner is very conscious of any additional costs and efforts. Its a small family-ran restaurant, old interior, unlevel wall pictures, and mediocre food. Pancake and fried rice are bland, no frying aroma at all.. also this is the first Korea restaurant that Ive ever seen that says on the wall that you need to ask them for small dishes, instead of being provided at first thing.

Food was very mediocre. Owner is known to be aggressive, violent, and unstable. i witnessed him threatening to sue a customer for defamation just because he said that there wasnt a fried egg in the actual kimchi fried rice in comparison to the menu. also, he tried to take pictures of their license plates as they got up and left. crazy man. save yourself the stress and get out of here.
Food was great. Kimchi fried rice was delicious, as was the spicy beef soup. And the owner was gracious enough to give us extra kimchi...twice!
I found this place during lockdown and I’ve been coming back since. As a newcomer to Korean food, I got the tofu dolsot (crispy rice with vegetables) and it was very tasty with the banchan. The beef japchae is also very good. The owner is almost always at the counter to greet you and he’s very friendly.This place would be a hit with folks from the nearby neighborhoods and students from Santa Teresa High if they offered lunch specials.
Terrible owner, minimal service, run down atmosphere. Looks like they stopped trying and are cutting costs at the expense of the customers. Plenty of other Korean restaurants that are much better!
My spouse and I come here to eat Korean food whenever we visit the town. The owner guy is funny and helpful in choosing your menu. The food tastes delicious, no matter which one you choose. Their serving size for soup stuff are also quite large. Clean interior without too much distraction. You should definitely get some makgeolli when you order and dont need to drive. Perfect drink to pair with any Korean food, in my opinion!

Stopped here for lunch on the way back from cherry picking in Morgan Hill. Nice surprise - space looks humble but food was pretty good. Especially loved their katsu and homemade sauce. Large proportions too. The owner was friendly and delightful.

Finally, proper Korean food that takes me back to Seoul! The food quality and taste reminds me of some of the better restaurants in Seoul and the home cooked meals I enjoyed there too. Super friendly service! The menu isnt too vast, but includes the good staples. Atmosphere is basic, but welcoming, especially with the friendly staff. Looking forward to eating here again soon! 😀
Placed a to-go order over the phone and expected the order to completed in 15 minutes. The restaurant front is a modern aesthetic in the suburban plaza- eye-catching and appealing! The interior has great ambience, fit for families to enjoy themselves. Went to the register and the owner welcomed me with my order hot and ready. He was genial and fun to have a quick conversation with. We ordered the 2 orders of the black bean noodles and beef bibimbap. The black bean noodles had a large portion of noodles; however, would have preferred more black bean sauce to accompany it with. Yet, the noodles were filling and certainly savory. As for the bibimbap, the food was a delicious mixture of vegetables and meat. The seaweed was a delight since it added an extra flavor of salt! Would certainly return to try out their other Korean dishes!

We ordered beef & seafood Stu, no taste, but 80% of mixture was tofu. Seafood pancakes was not baked properly, it was a bit raw inside. Customer service was good and friendly.
Ordered the bibimbap and sundubu (tofu stew) and it was sooo good. I find that the average Korean joints sundubu can be bland, so it was a pleasant surprise to find that the broth was incredibly savory and flavorful. Portions were generous and bonchon included bean sprouts, fish cake, potato, and kimchi. Ill definitely be coming here again to try some of their more traditional cold noodle dishes.Support small businesses!!

Its a great korean food place but their food is so pricey, 3 of us cost 75 bucks and compared to one place different location, more better taste, cost us 56 bucks same order...for those price, I think will never come back here, 1st time if you want to try maybe ok.

2024-03-09 23:06:44Small legit korean. It seemed they were the busiest in the entire complex. Very clean. We ordered the fried chicken, which was good even if it was just plain. For our main we ordered the beef tofu soup mild which I liked a lot. Lots of flavor and beef short ribs. The portion was a bit small, but it tasted amazing. The service was also very good and friendly. Their menu is quite extensive, so I will be back to try the other options.

They are all delicious.Just one minor “complaint”: we were the last few customers before their lunch break so we paid during not after, when the lady collected our signed check she immediately looked at it and frowned at it as if she was not satisfied with the tip. The food was about $60 plus tax it’s about $67 and we paid $76 in total which is about 15%. I mean it’s not over 20% so may not be considered as very generous but come on, at least wait until you are away from our table…

2024-03-09 04:08:06This new Korean restaurant is nice and clean. The menu is big with many choices. We liked the complementary kimchi. Meet Jun, a Hawaiian-Korean dish is delicious. Spicy pork is tasty but on the sweet side. Stone pot is probably good if the default beef version is chosen. The tofu version is a bit disappointing. The pre-cooked tofu is completely burned black on one side and the portion is small. I will try veggie pancake next time to see if that’s a good vegetarian option.UPDATE: Add pictures from the second visit

So today was the day I made the first visit and I will be coming back as a regular to try all the different plates and meals they make. I loved the Beef Bulgogi and Minh the lady in charge was great taking care of 3 different tables of customers. She was very helpful and educational on teaching me the way the food is served. The meals come with condiments to use and white rice. I was full with all of the food and look forward on bringing my lady and daughter some day soon. The facility was a medium size and plenty of seats available. I also found out they have a different location down town San Jose on First Street. The other customers were regulars and even shared some advice with me on how to eat the meals with the side dishes. The beef reminded me of a Mexican Carne Asada. Well cooked with the green onions and some type of cabage. I ate all of it and enjoyed the grilled hot stone plate it was served on. Korean BQ was a NOM NOM place

Super nice owner I was checking it out a little before they reopened at 5. they let me order a bowl of soup made fresh immediately! They were super fast and friendly. Highly recommend.

2018-12-30 04:37:24Pretty good. This may be new go to place for Korean food on the southside of San Jose when I cant get up to El Camino. My family had the pork bulgogi, naengmyun, chicken katsu, and the udon. Everything tasted good but there couldnt l couldve been more side dishes.
